Arriving emails show as draft

We have Exchange and Outlook 2013 with a cluster of 2 servers connected via VPN. Clients are connected to servers via LAN DNS.

Most emails arriving in an inbox are quickly converted to a draft message, showing the "From" as the actual sender.

There is not much on this error, but from what I gather, it's likely the message is being modified somewhere because at the top of the email it says "This is the most recent version, but you made changes to another copy. Click here to see the other versions." when in fact there have been no changes, or has the email even been opened.

I checked the mailbox rules, nothing there.

I checked the delegation and permissions, nobody has permissions except the Exchange Server and the Exchange Trusted Subsystem. No other issues are reported by other users.

This problem is frequent, but intermittent. Doesn't seem to be happening when Outlook is closed.

I removed and added a new Outlook profile, problem still exists.

Any ideas?

Exchange OWA suddenly unavailable for 30 minutes

Hi,

We just had a problem where one would browse to OWA, sign on with any given user, and get the ":-( something went wrong"-message.

Upon viewing the logs, error-events were shown with the following detailed info:

The only thing I did was restart IIS (after which the problem persisted) and begin the updating process. Anyone have a clue what may have caused this error?

Utilising AD attributes rather than distribution lists

Hi, I am hoping someone has experience in this area. 

We've just completed the migration of 4,500 users from Notes to Outlook 2010.  We're now ready to start moving the Notes email groups across to Outlook Distribution lists... except, we don't want to migrate them all, we have 5,000 plus. 

In readiness for the move to Outlook and Lync, we implemented a tool to populate AD with attributes from other systems, including business unit, department, location, grade etc.  So, rather than blindly recreating what we had in Notes, we'd like to employ those AD attributes. 

I know we can instruct users to use the Advanced Find features when addressing an email (although you have to know what you're searching for), but I wondered if anyone had experience of an add-in, through which the various attributes could be presented and selected, then used to search and present the relevant recipients.  These could then be added to To: field?

Outlook startup error - "Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: Folder name contains invalid delimiters" - after recent Office SP3 update

Hello -

After applying the recent Office SP3 update at the end of July 2013, I now get the following error when Outlook 2010 is starting:

"Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: Folder name contains invalid delimiters"

I called GoDaddy and they have never seen this error.

My wife is getting the same error on her laptop, with her Outlook after the recent update.

I checked every folder, took out all spaces / non alpha characters - but I still get the same error.


Has anyone seen this? This is a new error after applying the recent Office update.

I use GoDaddy as my email provider, using IMAP service.

Cant Upload Profile Photo: Service Unavailable

The file couldn't be uploaded. Check to see if it exceeds the allowed size, and refresh your Web browser to try again.

I have been getting this when ever i try to upload a profile photo to OWA, Just install exchange 2013 today and i have rebooted the server and resetiis, its installed onto a clean dedicated windows server 2013 server.

I cant upload a screen shot because microsoft says no

Outlook will not connect to 2013 Excahnge server after 2010-2013 Migration

We did an Exchange 2010-2013CU2 migration and everything appeared to work flawlessly. We took several precautions and followed a variety of guides and best practices. Mail is flowing in all directions but Outlook will not connect. Most users are running Outlook 2010 SP1, it will not auto-update to the new server name, it is still pointing to MAIL2010, not the new server MAIL. If I attempt to create a new profile, I am receiving a certificate error. It is trying to resolve to mail.INTERNALDOOMAIN.local - the SSL certificate in place is from godaddy and has both MAIL.EXTERNALDOMAIN.com & AUTODISCOVER.EXTERNALDOMAIN.COM. I have DNS entires in place for MAIL.EXTERNALDOMAIN.com & AUTODISCOVER.EXTERNALDOMAIN.COM pointing to the internal address but when I try to connect Outlook it constantly tries to connect to the internal address and getting a cert error. testexchagneconnectivity.com passes, all tests, but when I test from outlook it also passes but only if I accept the local cert. Even if I say yes to the cert warning in outlook it still doesn't connect. OWA, ActiveSync, etc all work fine without any cert errors.

Anyone have some ideas?

iStore Apps

I have down loaded several apps from the iStore. Both seemed to have downloaded successfully. One had to be updated and it successfully updated. However when I tried to executive the app, it would not load. Several phone calls later, I was informed by the Apple help desk, that Microsoft does not have permission to use the Apple apps. What is this all about? If that is true I spent a lot of money to buy a device that doesn't do what I want a tablet to do. Exchange 2013, problem with open owa, ecp, powershell

after update windows 2008 r2 (or after restart) i have problem - don't open owa - A mailbox couldn't be found for NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, problem with oper EMS - access dinied..., don't open ecp. i can change path to virtual catalog for power shell to"client access\powershell" and power shell is open.. but after analysis log IIS i notice that when i send web-request  to owa - account in frontend server is  my account and result code is 200, but request in log to Exchange Back End is whith my server account and result code is 500

Getting "Access is denied. Check credentials and try again." error in Exchange Web Service in Exchange 2013

Hi, 

    I am using Exchange 2013 CU1 EWS to get the User (example,User1) oof Setting response using"GetUserOofSettings" web service Method, but I got the Error :"Access is denied. Check credentials and try again." 
 But I have passed correct domain Administrator credentials and also havepermission (-AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights Receive-As,Send-As) on all mailbox database. Same code is successfully working on Exchange 2010 but does not work in Exchange 2013 CU1. 
   Can anybody please help me what exact the problem.

Search in mailbox does suddenly not work

In our Outlook Webb App the funktion for search in a mailbox suddenly has stopped working. I have restarted our 2 CAS-servers. What/where can check something to fix this?

Error OWA on IE 10 Metro version

Hi! On the metro version OWA generates error when navigating to the Settings page. Exchange version 8.3

Is it not recommended to use IE10 as client for OWA?

Cross forest Migration Exchange 2007 SP4 to Excahnge 2013

Could anybody please advice me the steps also the  pros and cons for below mentioned environment if we are going for the cross forest migration from Exch 2007 SP4 to Exch 2013.

Source  Domain -   test.local
Active Directory -  Windows 2008 R2
Exchange Server - 2007 SP4
Forest - A

Target Domain -   test.net
Active Directory -  Windows 2012
Exchange Server - 2013
Forest - B

Please let me know is it possible to use the single OWA URL. I am not sure Exchange 2013 internet facing CAS will be able to redirect legacy URL to Exchange 2007 forest.

How to customize password change page?

Hello,

when i like to logon to OWA and the password is expired the Password Change page appear.

I like to customize the Password Change page that the user do not need to input the "Domain\username".

They should either use there username or the UPN.

Is it possible do change that page that the Domain is not needed or the Domain is preallocated?

Hello is there a possibility to force OWA light in Exchange 2013 promise.

Not the Option field on logon page....I used some powershell code, but nothing helps:
Set-OwaMailboxPolicy -Identity Default -OWALightEnabled $True

In Office365 I saw, that there is in the Display Settings an Option to Switch between light and premium Version.

Hello

Using OWA, I can right click Favorites and add PF'S. I mail enabled the PF I created. But when I try to move/copy email from user mailbox to PF, copy/move button is disabled. Why is that?

Is the OWA 2013 Public Folder useful?

I am on a Mac and using OWA and Outlook for Mac.

I don't seem to find the Public Folder useful at all. Maybe I have not figured it out yet. 

Looks like I can only send email to the public folder if I need to share something through it. There is no Drag and Drop feature. I can not upload file to it either. I can not copy/move my emails to it either. What's the point of having it there. I don't get it. I am new to Exchange and probably that's the usage of it. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

Exchange 2013 OWA Redirection

Hello,

I am working on our Exchange 2013 migration and we would like HTTP redirection.  There is a Technet article about how to simplify the URL: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998359(v=exchg.150).aspx.

Unfortunately this article does not work on Windows Server 2013.  Internet explorer and Chrome return a 403 error stating that you do not have permission to view the page.

Can anyone tell me what authentication permissions are required?  I found this article for the default IIS settings but when you change to HTTP redirect there might be something else: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg247612(v=exchg.150).aspx

Feels like either the Authentication settings needs to be changed or else there is a file in inetpub that does not have the correct permissions.

Thoughts?

Calendar Sharing Notifications

I have been made an owner of my boss' calendar.  However, when she adds an appointment to her calendar I don't know about it unless she tells me or I try to locate them -- both of which are less than satisfactory.  What I need is for when she adds something to her calendar that I would receive a popup, an email, something so I could make sure she has all the resources she needs for the meeting, etc.  We use Microsoft Exchange.  I've looked but haven't been able to find an answer to this question.
