Attachments Moving after Moving Email from Exchange Mailbox to PST

$
0
0

A user with Office 2013 has an Exchange 2013 mailbox and moves some emails to an attached PST file. Attached documents in an email, such as a PDF,gets placed behind the senders email signature making the attachment impossible to open without clicking reply/forward and moving the email signature around. You are able to select the email, Click File, Click Save Attachment and access the PDF that way.

Steps Taken Thus Far:
Repaired Office 2013.
Removed Office 2013.
Cleaned the stale registry records on the workstation.
Re-installed Office 2013.
Downloaded & installed all Office 2013 updates.
Created a new PST file in a different location and moved email with an attachment to the new PST file.
Followed the same process of moving an email to a PST file when logged on as a different user account using a different mailbox.

Thank you for any suggestions in resolving this issue.

Spell Check Not Working

I am on the faculty of a college that uses Microsoft Outlook Web Access for its email. Sometimes  the spell check works and other times I cannot get it turn on. My college is on a Windows 7 but soon is (I hope) going to Windows 10.

When you right click on the word in question, you get  a sign that says "Spell-Checker Options" and  then "English" appears to the right. Below the  word "English" you have three options in descending order in the pull down menu:

1. Language settings

2. Check the spelling of text fields

3. Ask Google for suggestions

My problem is I often have to ask Google  for suggestions 3 to 4 times on simple words that would not be among  hardest in the Merriam Webster 10 question quiz on their website.

Sometimes I give up on it helping me and do the 1950s thing and I go to the bookshelf and get a dictionary. I would rather not do that . I am now doing that for every 20th new difficult word.  What should I do?

We upgraded Exchange 2013 to CU1 today. Immediately afterwards no users could save any attachments in OWA. This was working before the CU1 upgrade. I have checked all OWA settings and direct file access is allowed. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

How to set the logon domain in Outlook 2010?

$

Hi all,

in Outlook 2003 it was possible to set the logon domain via Regkey:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange]
"LogonDomain"="mySecondDomain"

In Outlook 2010 this does not work anymore. How can I set the "mySecondDomain" in local Outlook installations? This is necessary because we use a second domain which is not operated by us. Therefore we cannot use "myFirstDomain\firstname.lastname" for the logon to the Exchange servers.

Can someone please help?

OWA Sign Out doesn't work

I'm testing Exchange 2013 and running into the issue. On the OWA page, when I click on Sign out, OWA doesn't sign out.. It gives me "Sign Out" window with statement: "You must close all browser windows to sign out completely". Same behavior on local server, on remote server.. /OWA /ECP site.. Admin user, non admin user..

Forms authentication is disabled, basic and windows are enabled.

If I manually add /owa/logoff.owa it logs me off..

Any ideas?

  1. POP/SMTP Mail VS Exchange Mail Functionality and licensing

In Private Mail hosting services, the licensing module for an Exchange Module Differs from the Pop Mail / SMTP

as stated " You can have emails on Exchange and the remaining needed emails with POP,

How is this case reflected on Exchange Online P1 or P2 or Office365 Solutions

When I try and delete emails from my Outlook 2003 Inbox, Sent etc folders it will let me delete one or two and they move straight to the deleted items folder but any I try to delete after that stay in there folders and wont move to deleted items folder.  If I try to open them after I press delete it comes up with the error message "Can't open this item. The operation failed." and the emails stays in the folder until I switch folder.  It is an exchange account that I am using.

How to configure "fetchmail" for Office 365?

$

Hi,

The shared email box of my Company has recently been migrated to Office 365 and I am able to login to the account using the OWA. However I am required to configure the Unix 'fetchmail' tool to automatically read emails as sent to this shared email account.

However I am getting the following error message as I am trying to run the following command:
$ /usr/bin/fetchmail -f /fetchmail/.fetchmailrc

fetchmail: socket error while fetching from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)

Following is the configuration that I am using in the fetchmailrc file.

poll pod51044.outlook.com with proto IMAP port 993
        user 'RSC-PQ-NStar-Acquisitions'
        password '<password>'
        folder "Inbox/test"
        keep

Also I am not able to get any response as I am ping(ing) the concerned host from my box:

$ ping pod51044.outlook.com
PING pod51044.outlook.com (132.245.1.121) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- pod51044.outlook.com ping statistics ---
7 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 5999ms

It will be of great help if you please let me know the correct configuration to connect to concerned email box. Any feedback and suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Dipanjan

Outlook Reset required

I have attempted to connect Outlook to my work email account as I have done with previous versions but when I tries with Outlook 2013 I must have entered some incorrect settings data. When I try to reopen Outllook to address this issue it keeps trying to connect to the misconfigured account.

I have followed instructions of going to the mail settings within Control Panel and then removing the account and starting again but when I search through Control Panel using Mail no results are returned.

How can I proceed to link Outlook to another account?

Hi,

We notice that recently our new user unable to configure their email account into any of MS outlook client. The error message as below:

"The action cannot be completed. the connection to microsoft exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action"

We have check all the possibility of the internet such as remove profile at user end, and Ms Exchange file distribution, Ms Exchange Address book  was started.

We found that one of our CAS transport server do not have any GUID folder at path below:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OAB\<GUID>

Is it abnormal? How can we resolve this issues?

However, there is no problem with another CAS transport server. We are running at Exchange 2010 RTM with 2x cas, 2x hub, 2 x edge, 2 x ms, 2x DC.

Exception after choosing region/language in Exchange 2013 OWA

$

Okay, so, I've looked everywhere and I have had no luck at all.

Whenever I try to log in, using OWA, to any mailbox it asks me to select my language and region/timezone. After accepting these changes, I'm brought to the standard Exchange "oops something went wrong error", but I can proceed to the mailbox if I just refresh the page.  This happens every time and my language settings are not saved at all.

Before the cumulative update, it actually displayed the standard ASP.NET exception page, but with the update it just displays a generic error.

Here is the exception/stack trace as logged in the Event Log:

Any help with this issue is appreciated. While OWA still functions fine if I ignore the error, I think we can all agree that's not an acceptable solution, especially considering that my timezone and language selection aren't saving either.

Thanks in advance!

I want to attach an email with another email through outlook web access . Is that possible in MS Exchange 2013

Cannot send SMS from owa in IE9/10 and G. Chrome

I cannot send sms messages from newer explorers, but
it works fine in older explorers like IE7.

The layout in the browser when it doesn't work is
"windows 8 themed" and old style outlook themed when it works.

There are no "apps" dropdown selection on
the browser in IE9/10/Chrome.

I have included a screendump from both browsers (EDIT somehow i was unable to include images, because my account wasn't verified, althoug it is in actual fact verified...

I have no problem sending sms's from my outlook
neither, although it sucks that chosing a contact it selects their email adress
rather than their mobile phone number, but thats a different question, for
another time...

In IE9 browser it doesn't work, if i select new message, and enter a phone number in the "to:"
line, i get the message that no such user can be found, or something similar.

In Ie7 browser it works, i can select new message and
then just write the mobile phone number in the "to:" line..
Et voila..

Hope someone have a solution for this problem.. :)

BTW. there are no problems with the SSL certificate, and i receive sms messages in both browsers.

My users can't change their password in OWA because it keeps saying: password did not a meet a the required complexity

If i enable change password on next logon the user is able to change the password (it work's sometimes this solution).

Minimum password length 0

Localy on the exchange server i checked the policy's and it is the same.
