shared calendar permission issues

$
0
0

on suggestion from the outlook forum I've posted in here. Hoping someone can help

hi

server is sbs 2003 r2 (obviously with exchange 2003 as part of it)

client creating the calendar is using outlook 2007

clients accessing the calendar are using outlook 2010

problem is they want to use a shared calendar to act as a room diary.

they can create events, but it would appear that everyone has the ability to delete others events.

I checked the permissions from within the outlook 2007 client > tools >options>preferences>calendar options>resource scheduling>set permissions

all but one user has author permissions so can read full details, delete own, write create items, write edit own, other folder visible

however if I create a meeting and invite the shared resource it automatically accepts. but anyone can seemingly delete the event and the event cancel message has a subject of cancelled meeting followed by user x on behalf of xxxxx

any ideas, pointers or suggestions welcome.

thanks

Outlook 2013 prints legacy DN rather than name

$

After installing Office 2013 on my home and office PCs, when printing emails, appointments, etc., the legacy DN is printed, not my name. This happens relatively randomly, some print outs have my actual name, others, the legacy DN.

I was given advice in the Outlook forum to change my default printer. That seemed to work -- for a while, then my print outs reverted back from my name to legacy DN.

I really don't want to change my default printer several times a day. There must be an actual solution to this problem.

It is not high priority. However, it is annoying and is preventing me from deploying Office 2013 throughout my company.

OWA 2013 - Direct access to html file without saving to disk

$

I've got a new installation of Exchange 2013 (on Server 2008 R2) and I've come across an issue that I'd like to get some feedback on. My users often receive emails with .html files on them and they are forced to save the .html file to the desktop and then manaually open it up. Back in the Exchange 2007 days, all that needed to happen was that the users had to log into OWA using the private computer option. I understand it that OWA 2013 assumes that you are using this option but my users are still being prompted to save to disk.

Error:

This type of attachment must be saved to disk. Right-click the link, and then click 'Save target as...' to save the attachment.

Does anyone know how I can get it so that my users can have direct access into the .html file?

Thank you.

Autodiscovery returning wrong server address

Hello every one!

I have recently installed a exchange server 2013 on windows server 2012 for testing purposes.
Everything works fine, i can send and receive mail, use OWA. But the problem is occur when i trying to configure outlook INSIDE organisation, on a pc, which is domain member.
Autodiscover returning wrong server address (something like guid) and wrong e-mail address (simething like :smtp=mail@domain.ru), and setup failing with error "there is no connection toexchange server...".

But, if i will make outlook configuration manualy, it works fine.

When i am trying to acces https://mail.domain.local/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
i recive this mesage: <ErrorCode>600</ErrorCode>

If it is important i am using self-signed certificate. Can it be a reason?

Remote connectivity analyzer test results are fine, every test passed.
But in result, we can see the same:

After migrating to Exchange 2012 my Outlook 2013 rules do not work

$

I recently migrated my Exchange 2010 box to Exchange 2012 (all updates required for co-existence have been applied) and since then my Outlook rules are not running automatically. (I have been using Outlook 2013 for a while so there wasn't a change in client after the migration.)

I have tried:

  • deleting and recreating the rule(s) that is used most often;
  • deleting all the rules and recreating just the one that is used most often;
  • deleting and recreating the same rule through OWA;
  • starting Outlook with /cleanrules and recreating the rule;
  • turning off Cached Exchange Mode.

None of this has worked and the rule simply does not run automatically but it will run fine when run manually.

Any ideas?

Hello,

We are multi-domain and multi site Exchange 2003/2007 / 2010 Set up.

One  of our user sits in Latin America and his mailbox hosted in US Data center . when he launches the his Outlook 2010 , he getting Certificate pop-up from my APAC CAS servers which self signed.

When i run Test-Outlook configuration from his outlook , it first searches the APAC servers and then return to my US CAS servers.

I checked the user AD site and it is added in my US CAS server AutoDiscoverSiteScope , but still this same behaviour in his outlook.

then our Exchange 2003 users who uses Outlook 2010 and his mailbox hosted in Latin America getting certificate  pop up from US CAS servers , who's AD-site is not added in my CAS server AutoDiscoverSiteScope as they in Exchange 2003.

Please help me how to fix this ?

Hello,

I have an iPhone5, outlook 2013, and just bought the subscription for Exchange online, thinking it would allow me to sync my calendar and contacts to my phone.  Still thinking it will, but so far not having any success.

One other note, I don't want my email address to use @onmicrsoft.com. I want to use my registered domain name.

Help is appreciated.

Outlook 2013 not sending when selecting from contacts

$

Ok ... I have a strange issue, basically when sending through Outlook emails send fine if the contact is typed in and not linked to a contact, if the person is in the contacts and gets linked to an existing contact (by either entering an email address or selecting someone to send to through contacts) the email sending fails.

By fails I mean it does not error on sending (infact it says Sending complete), but never actually sends, instead it goes to Outbox and then retries sending again in a few mins.

My setup is Exchange Server 2013, Outlook 2013, the configured account type in Outlook is: "Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync" compatible service.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kris

Mail is stuck in outbox when using cached exchange and shared e-mail folders

When using Outlook 2013 in Exchange Cached Mode, e-mails sent via shared e-mail accounts are getting stuck in the outbox.

As soon as I disable cached mode, the mails are gone. Has someone experienced this before and fixed this?

btw: telling me to disable cached mode is not an answer.

Cannot open your default e-mail folders.

Hi,

I have an Exchange 2013 environment with a certificate from a CA. I can successfully login using OWA, but connecting through Outlook 2010 client shows the following error message:

"Cannot open your default e-email folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)."

1. All users cannot connect using Outlook client.

2. I am using Negotiate Authentication in my Exchange proxy settings.

Any suggestions?

how to force the exchange server 2010 using the VBA code instead of the rules.

Dears,

we are  using an exchange server 2010.

we have a user  member to  the  active directory under windows server 2008 R2 Entreprise and create for him a mail box under the exchange.

i already configure for this user the mail box under his workstation, windows 7, using the microsoft outlook 2010 and i create some rules for him and all is working well.

this user can open his mail from outside company also using OWA and still the rules are applicable under OWA which is greate.

also i configure to receive his mails under his mobile phone using the microsoft exchange server and still all working well and the rules also still working well.

for some reason i remove all the rules and replace them with a VBA code under microsoft outlook 2010 on his workstation , and all working well, i mean the code still filter the mails receive like before when i was using the rules .

The big question is :

how i could force the exchange to applicable this code when this user try to read his mails using OWA or from his mobile phone?

Regards.

Office Web Apps Integration with Exchange 2013

Hello,

I'm using Exchange 2013 CU1 and Office Web Apps 2013 with latest KB both on Windows Server 2012.

Word and Excel documents viewing is working when I use the internal URL of Outlook Web App.

I have followed this article http://technet.microsoft.com/us-us/library/jj204665.aspx on how to publish Office Web Apps with TMG. But when I test from the Internet, I got this WOPI error:

Could not contact WOPI End Point. Error details - 'Unauthorized url - https://webmail.mydomain.com:443/owa/vrivoire%40mydomain.com/wopi/files/@/owaatt?owaatt=tAFBQU1rQURNd1lqazRPVGc1TFdKaVpUUXROR0kxTmkxaVpEQXlMVFZpTW1VNU1UVXlZMk16TWdCR0FBQUFBQUFwbzRCVlFmWTVTYnIrdlBXUWZrMlBCd0FrbVlDRFFCTEZUWTVodVNCc0hYV3pBQUFBUnJZREFBQ2pEZHFxV0RsTFFKQ2RJcGgrOHhhK0FBQXFtUzBmQUFBQkVnQVFBR1NTNVNnaDEyTkRsUmZ1VkE0dk53dz1ZM7pLbRTQCAEBAUB5ZmhXbDl4eXlubWtpWnBEdVkvUTVMN2JjeXpPQXVrRUVla0RkSVZnT3ptMTFYM256UXNyMUhJenloUElSZGND&access_token=Xu84fAmdWccVm6wpLIeYAomd449o4wpbkwQ9uDogXFn3eFBgbcPlaKIh1G9fLmfiReeKml5NOcrE6FlnKbiipQ%3D%3D&access_token_ttl=0'.

I'm not using a wildcard certificate on Office Web Apps, this certificate has been generated from my private AC.

No drop on the TMG.

Any idea?

How to set an automatic reply to EVERY incoming email in Outlook Web App

$

Dear all,

Now we are using EXCHANGE (Outlook Web App) and encounter a problem that the OOF can be sent out ONCE to the email sender and no matter how long or how many emails someone sends to you.

That is not enough for our daily job pratice.

Our request is to send out the automatic reply to every incoming email to all the senders instead of one reply, that is because there are some scenarios in the daily jobs of a service industry are needed:

Scenario One: Quick Response to the customer, that means once we receive an email from customer, we need to send a reply to them and let he/she knows the issue is followed, so the customer don't need to call us again to check whether the message is got by us;

Scenario Two: Out of the Office Notice. When a colleague is out of office (on vacation, resignation), we need to send the automatic reply to alert the sender for the follow-up arrangement. But if the OOF is only be sent out once, that is possible that it can be missed because of the overlook, the fail delivery of the email server, and so on.

So an automatic reply to EVERY incoming email is quite necessary in our daily job.

According to the web information as below, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/157961/en-us

--Quote--

If you would like to have a reply sent for every message, use Rules instead of the Out of Office Assistant.

--Unquote--

Is there any way to make it done?

Thanks in advance.

Autodiscover requests yields http 400 (bad request) - but only for certain users

Hi!

I'm in the middle of a Exchange 2010 -> 2013 Migration and a strange Problem just poped up. We have one user (possibly more, but it's just this one in the Pilot) that can't connect to autodiscover. We manually tried to connect to <a href="https://autodiscover./autodiscover/autodiscover.xml">https://autodiscover.<domain>/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and depending on the user we are logged on with either everything works fine (99 % of the time) or we get a http 400 (bad request) returned.

Anybody have an idea what the reason might be? I'm stumped!

Hi,

Have Exchange2013 and Exchange2010 installed. NTLM authentication on Exchange 2013. When opening Outlook 2010 everything works ok. But when accessing public folder on the Exchange 2010 server Outlook prompts for credentials. When successfully authenticated, I am able to use PF.

Why is this asking me for credentials?

Problems adding Microsoft Exchange Account to Outlook 2007

I am trying to add a Microsoft Exchange account to my desktop that is running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007.  Currently I access this account via OWA.

After entering the "Microsoft Exchange server" and "User Name" ("Use Cached Exchange Mode" is checked) I receive this error message "The action cannot be completed.  The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

I have successfully connected this account to my laptop (running Windows 7 & Outlook 2010) following the same steps so I'm unsure why I'm having issues on my desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

ULS logs don't show anything, OWA don't seems using my farm....

OWA users cannot download PDFs

Hello,

My organization is having an issue with what apparently seems to be only PDF attachments in OWA. When a user clicks on a PDF they are told they need to preview it first before downloading. But this issue is only happening with PDF files, Office, images, mp3 files when clicked will offer a download as normal.

.pdf is in the AllowedFileTypes in Get-OWAMailboxPolicy

Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks,
