good day!

Today our outlook (office 365) started ask username and password for the disabled system public folder account - pfmailbox1@domain.com. This happens for the each user with 365 office in our domain, for all other offices ( Microsoft office 2013, office 2016) outlook working at normal.  In the near time there were no changes in the server configuration. Please help.

Supress reminder for all day event

$

At my company, we send Outlook appointments>all day events to put on others' calendars when we'll be out of the office. When you create the appointment, you can change the default Reminder to "None" but that value does not flow to the recipients, they unfortunately inherit their own default reminder. So Sally sends an all day event for tomorrow and sets the reminder to "None". When Joe receives the appointment, it displays his reminder default value of 5 minutes.

1. Is there a solution that allows the appointment creator's Reminder value to persist for the recipient?

Determining email client from header information

Hi,

Is there a way to determine what email client was used to send an email by viewing the email header of a message?

If not, is there a configuration of either the Outlook client or the Exchange server that would create this ability?

Ultimately, we would like to be able to reliably determine if an email was sent by the PC Outlook client vs. OWA vs. the mobile device Outlook client just by viewing the email header.   (The "This message sent from my phone" footer is not considered reliable for our purposes.)

This is for an automated response solution that is not Exchange server based.

Bonus points if there's a solution that encompasses non-Microsoft clients as well.

Thanks,

Dave

404 can't find page Error when logging into Exchange 2013 OWA, after a refresh, login works

Hi,

I've upgrade two of my customers to Exchange 2013.

On of them was coming from 2007, and the other was already running 2010.

Migration from both of the servers went good.

However with the customer which upgraded from 2010 to 2013 i'm experiencing strange OWA behavior:

When I login to OWA on https://owa.contoso.com/owa, and input my credentials and click sign in: I receive this error:

404
can't find page :-(

The page you're looking for couldn't be found on the server.

X-FEServer: JVBMAIL01
Date: 11-6-2014 11:54:48

Fewer details..
-> Refresh the page

In the addressbar, the following URL is displayed: https://owa.contoso.com/owa/auth/errorFE.aspx?httpCode=404

But... when I click: "Refresh the page" of just hit F5, the login proceeds, and my OWA is displayed and working fine.

This behavior only happens with my customer which was upgraded from 2010 to 2013.
The customer which i've upgraded from 2007 to 2013 doesn't experience this problem.

I've matched the IIS settings and redirect/ssl options on both servers. They are the same.

I've tried other users and i've experienced that on one user, the error message didn't appear.

When I try to delete the Exchange atributes from the user, (after exporting the mail to a PST file) and re-add the Exchange attributes, the message is gone. This isn't a solotuion however, since i've got 166 users, and about 150 of them, get the error message. New users don't get the error.

Anybody got any clues?

Hoi,

groetjes,

Harry

Greetings,

I have Exchange 2013 CU23 and Outlook 2013.

An issue is in one user or maybe in two.. When user1 sends message to user2 mail message falls to Inbox folder and then moves to Junk folder. What I've checked:

1) Turned off junk filtering in OWA - no result

2) Turned off junk filtering in Outlook - no result

3) Turned off Kaspersky Add-on in Outlook - no result

4) Fully removed Kaspersky Endpoint Protection from PC - no result

5) Checked Inbox rules - no result

Will be happy for any suggestions!

Outlook app for iPhone and Android

I've been searching quite a bit online for an answer to this question, but have come up empty.  Hopefully we can get an answer without running down a firewall log/wireshark rabbit hole.

We run a completely on-prem exchange 2013 system.  Our users connect via ActiveSync or OWA.  We have recently noticed a message header we would like to understand better on messages specifically sent via the Outlook app on the mobile device.

Message-ID: <234234-23423423-23423@mail.outlook.com>

Is the @mail.outlook.com just a generic address added to the Message ID from within the app?  Or is this an indication the message itself has somehow moved through the MS cloud email system?  Again this is using our company hosted email accounts.

We have no cloud presence at all.  AD and Exchange is completely on-prem.. I'm under the impression logging in to the app on the mobile device would log the user directly into our mail system.  It wouldn't make sense for any of that information to move through a third-party system.  Does anyone have a definitive answer to why that message ID is using that domain?

Is it possible that having 2 certificates with POP services assigned could cause this issue? Otherwise, I'm not sure what else I need to check.

Login prompt to "Mailbox1@domain.com" just started this week from multiple versions of Outlook

To clarify, it is exactly Mailbox1@*****.ca The same login prompt happens to everyone. It's a different login prompt than the usual mailbox login (firstname.lastname@******.ca)

We just noticed it this week. Internally it is only happening to our users using Outlook 2019 Standard, (we mostly use Outlook 2016 and also 2013) but externally it is happening to users on Office 365 Outlook, as well as Outlook 2010 (confirmed so far)

Connectivity is not affected, but it's more of an annoyance that they have to cancel out of.

Our environment is Exchange 2013 CU21

Hi,

I am trying to open a shared mailbox via OWA, but I get an error message "Something went wrong"

I have multiple users that have FullAccess to the shared mailbox.

All users can see the mailbox in their Outloo client (O365 ProPlus 1808)

I also have access to other Shared Mailboxes and I can open them without any issue.

I have removed permossions and re-added them without any luck.

Does anyone know what I else I can try?

The Logon Type field indicates the kind of logon that was requested. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).

The Process Information fields indicate which account and process on the system requested the logon.

The Network Information fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.

The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
- Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
- Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.
- Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.

He had mutiple mobile exchange activesync devices registered under his account.  We removed all of them and signed him out of any other devices we could find that he was logged in to.  Also tried running ExMon to see if I can catch his account trying to authenticate, but his account does not appear in the traces.  We even ran an anti-virus scan on and restarted the exchange server.  He also rebuilt his laptop.  The bad password attempts continue to happen.  Can anyone help me understand why this could be happening?  What does the MSExchangeFrontendTransport.exe do?

I have an DAG of 4 servers Exchange 2013. 2 Server with MBOX and CAS and 2 only Mbox.

On Some clients when open Outlook, A password popUp Appear.

I close the popup, click on "Necessary Password" on bottom bar and outlook can connect without ask another password.

I Show the outlook connections clicking on OutlookIcon witch CTRL Keyboard and i can see that all connections Are established without problem.

I attach an screeshot.

On my exchange environment i have a correct SSL certificate, MAPI over HTTP enabled, Kerberos Authentication With Alternative Service Account Enabled. All Virtual Dir are configured Correctly.

Which service that can ask password on Outlook startup?

IMAP Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

My setup is 4 Exchange 2013 CU3 servers, 2 x CAS and 2 x Mailbox. I have 1 Database within a DAG which is using both Mailbox servers.

Within an internal application, it uses a process to query a mailbox using IMAP4.

If the Database resides on Mailbox Server 2, all works great. IMAP queries the CAS server, is able to login and retrieve the emails.

But, if the Mail Database is on Mailbox Server 1, I get the following error:

There was an error in reading the rules on the server. The format of the server rules was not recognized

Hi everyone

I am using outlook 365 with my office exchange server 2010. I had configured a lot of rules which were working fine even after upgrading to office 365. One day I was editing my rules & added few more keywords to one of the rule (Rule: Move messages with specific word in subject & body), it barred me from adding more keywords. After that I started getting the subject error message whenever I start outlook. Moreover, when I goto 'manage rules & alerts' , it shows no rules. However, the existing rules are still working but I cant edit/modify the rules bcz of subject error. In OWA , I can see only specific rules. I searched many threads on this topic but couldn't get satisfactory answer. Will be obliged if anyone can help me fix the issue

Cannot delete user created folders

$

Hi all,

I'm facing an issue about user folders in OWA/Outlook : user cannot delete some folders which he created.

When I look in these folders permissions, I don't find the user as "Owner" like it is on other folders.

When I add the user as "Owner" on the impacted folders, the user still cannot delete these folders.

Any idea ?

Thank you.

Regards,

FXE
