mail error

Thru outlook mail, when I am trying to delete emails, sometimes (not always) it will save "the server repsonded "thie mailbox is read only". I have to click ok.  If I close out outlook and reopen it and try to delete 2nd time, it deletes them ok.  Why is this happening and how di I get it to delete the first time and not be "read only"

OWA Forms Based Authentication Not Working

I am attempting to switch authentication from Basic authentication to Forms Based authentication.  It is not working.  After switching OWA will get stuck on "still working on it" or it will just bounce directly back to the form.  We have updated to the latest CU which was 23 as of last week.  

We have tried using the PowerShell commands to switch and the ECP console and both give us the same results.  What am I missing?

Here is the PowerShell command we used: Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "OWA (default web site)" -FormsAuthentication $true

We found because email have total size limit, when user email usage is over than it's max usage, when he sent email, it will show the message as shown as below

But the email did not sent, why it will be in sent location?  Thanks a lot.

IMAP Connectivity issue

Dears,

I'm getting the below error while configuring IMAP profile in the Outlook on port 993 in our UAT environment. It works fine with IMAP 143, but giving an error "Secure connection cannot be established to the server" if I use the port 993 even though I installed SSL certificate on the server. Kindly assist.

We're using Exchange 2010 in our environment.

Application server fails to communicate with Exchange on customized SMTP secure port 465

Dears,

We've 3rd party application in our bank which use different SMTPS port 465 and not default one 587. I created a receive connector on Exchange and allowed both 587 & 465 ports on this connector, and added application server IP in the allowed remote server list. However, application works fine if it uses port 587, but fails on 465. Is it an issue from application side or Do I need to make any change on Exchange?

As per vendor, their application must use SMTPS port 465 and not default one as per their best practice.

Hi

Kindly advise if Exchange 2010 supports SMTPS or not. We've an application which works fine with starttls command using open ssl, but failed with SMTPS. I checked on the internet and found some articles which say Exchange 2010 doesn't support SMTPS.

Unable to block or delete mobile devices on Office 365 Exchange

Good Morning,

I was wondering if someone could help clear something up for me.

Office 365 Exchange Mobile Devices, so I have mobile devices that use the Microsoft Company Portal application. 

Now in Exchange you can see what mobile devices a mailbox has attached to it, and block or delete them.

When I delete or block a device attached to my mailbox it comes back as "Access Granted", I can never block or delete it from Exchange itself.

I’ve done some testing with my personal phone by removing the ActiveSync devices from our mailboxes.

I did this with the following command: Get-MobileDevice -Mailbox it| Remove-MobileDevice -Confirm:$true

Which removes all mobile devices attached to the mailbox. After a few minutes the active devices do return to Exchange.

It seems you can’t actually remove a mobile device or block it when an active device that has the correct email, and password credentials for the user's mailbox and is allowed to use ActiveSync.

So if you have a valid pass, in the correct groups etc you are allowed email on your phone, then the mobile device will always come back in Exchange after its blocked or removed.

Implementing OAuth for Email ids in Outlook Exchange server

I have a use case where from the application user may want to send an email by using his/her own email id created in exchange server (user123@company_domain_name.com). All Users have corporate emails from Outlook. So, the application uses Outlook API for sending emails. To achieve the entire functionality I am using OAuth protocol using which the user's Email account will be authenticated & the email will be sent.

The functionality is working fine for my own company email (office365), sample accounts newly created in Outlook. But When I am trying with the actual client's outlook email (user123@company_domain_name.com), getting the following error from outlook.


That microsoft account does not exist. Enter a different account or get a new one.


I could see from StackOverflow, people saying that Windows Basic authentication system (NTLM), EvenOAuth 2.0 are going to be retired by 2020. If that is true then what is the best alternate approach to achieve this functionality.?

Does this problem could get resolved if client updates their Exchange server updated to latest version or any other configuration changes stopping this authentication process? 

Please assist to resolve this. 





outlook 2016 on windows 10 - SBS 2011 credential issue

Hi,

 

My client has a couple of windows 10 professional version 1809 (OS Build 17763.805) and running outlook 2016 Version 1909 (build 12026.20264), connected to exchange on SBS server; now and then outlook asking for crediential and on outlook status bar there is key Icon with the word need password.

 

If the user click on need password on status bar then it changed to connected to exchange without putting any password/credential, which I can only assume that outlook already has credientical setup and not sure why it behave this way.

 

This is happend on desktop pc and connected to RJ45, the user working on files on network drive and internet without any issue so network connection is fine; so it's not like scenario where  user is using laptop with wireless connection and lost signal hence it disconnect but it doesn't connected automatically and outlook get disconnected.

 

This doesn't happen for user with windows 7 with outlook 2016 & 2013, the issue seems to be isolated to widnows 10 user only. This issue also happend with combination of windows 10 with outlook 2013 as well. 

 

I have tried removing the profile and created the outlook profile, but it doesn't help.

There is nothing related to oulook under windows credential but I found there is 2 entry under generic credential:

- virtualapp/didlogical

- SSO_POP_Device

both entry has some strange username, like 02usrdcfgedpbmau which doesn't make any sense we don't have any user by that username; from what I read on the internet it seems that this is for windows live account which we don't use; not sure why windows create credential for service that we don't use or installed.

 

I would apprecaited if anybody can shed some light on how to resolve this issue.

Hi guys,

i have an issue with my exchange server, i have 4 servers exchange 2013 CU 17 (2 CAS & 2 MBX) was infected by ransomware and all data encrypted. :'(

for now all server have been isolated, and i build new exchange with exchange 2013 CU23.

i have issue with new CAS Server, after i installed the server, my OWA/ECP cannot logon, always keep prompt password.

i was find any clue in event viewer but there's no error regarding owa/ecp.

is this any related with different version with previous exchange? because i search on Microsoft for CU 17 no longer available.

i have Exchange 2013 RU 23 and outlook 2013 recently i faced issue with some clients they cannot connect to Exchange trough outlook 2013 , outlook icon in taskbar beside the clock loading the sand clock after a while the client get the following ,message

I am using ews-javascript-api npm package to get all my skype meeting details using my outlook credentials. But while I am using the function"GetUserAvailability", there I am getting all my scheduled meetings, and data accordingly, and the meetings that are matching with me and the other user in the "attendee" array. But why not the other user meetings which are not matching with me is displayed? Is there any access issue I need to maintain for that? Can you please let me know with relevant links cause I need to find thefree or busy status of the user before scheduling a meeting for them.

Messaging infra - Exchange 2013 

user mailboxes can be accessed from Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 and Outlook 365 version. Shared mailboxes can only be accessed from Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013, OWA but not from  Outlook 2016 and Outlook 365 version.

Issue with missing 'my templates' on a Shared Mailbox

Hi Techy people, 

Application : Office 365 web (outlook)

We currently have 2 users who are unable to see the templates button on a shared mailbox. Other users can see this fine without any problems, and we have made this as part of our group policy. 

The 2 people in question can see my templates in their own mailbox, and when you add the shared mailbox under folders they can see the templates. both are on different shared mailboxes and this did work. Nothing has been installed, as we don't all it unless your admin. 

When we open the shared mailbox on the users PC, and go to settings, view all outlook settings, email, customise actions and then scroll to the bottom, the option to tick my templates is missing under toolbar. So unable to tick it. 

Tried this in both chrome and IE11 and the same issue shows. 

Under exchange and organisation the 'my templates' is selected and mandatory and enabled for everyone. 

Cache has been cleared from both browsers.

Has anyone any ideas please. 

Exchange Server CU23 OWA Blank Attachment Preview with Office Web Apps Server When integrated

Guys,

I have a Exchange Server CU23 with 10 CAS and 6 MBXs and i'm having the problem with OWA Blank Attachment Preview with Office Web Apps Server When integrated.

I disabled all configurations, bellow:

But now is very stranger, because is occurring this situation bellow: (I isolated one CAS by my file hosts using a VM guest in the same network). How is possible?


So, how this is showing to me? There is a explanation about this?

I renewed a new internal certificate "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" (AuthConfig), but not success.

Concurrent connection in OWA

 facing an issue with one of our mailbox. this mailbox is accessed by more than 50 users from OWA. but after logging 32 users, OWA cannot be accessed by others. we have created a throttling policy where OWAMaxConcurrency set to 200, RcaMaxConcurrency 100. we have 3 mailbox server but policy was created from 1 server through management shell. Then we reset the IIS. But the issue still persists.

How can I resolve this issue???

Dear all. please if possible let me know why such problem happened

yesterday one of our user (UserU) send email to UserA, UserB, UserC,UserD. Email reached all of the users. When UserC(for exapmle) clicks "Reply All", EmailX appears. We have no such a email address in domain. I asked UserU that let me look at his outlook maybe he added that email address (EmailX) occasionally. But when I looked at To: only UserA,UserB,UserC,and UserD were there not EmailX. I looked at his contact and saw that there was EmailX address. The question is that if UserU didn't add EmailX to To: why other emails saw EmailX when they reply all.

it is so urgent I would be thankfull if you help me as soon as possible.
