Gmail Apps to Office 365 migration with Admin credentials

Hi team,

 We are migrating from Google Apps to Office 365. I know the normal procedure of migrating, but I want to know how to migrate from gmail to office 365 with administrator credentials. Normally for migration, we use user's mail ID and password in CSV file. But I don't want to use users credentials, instead I want use Administrator credentials.

Hi all. After changing our certificate to wildcard *.domain.com and changing all Virtual Directories URLs outlook client getting error 1 minute after opening saying "the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site EXSRV.domain.local(Old urls), but if i will create new configuration in outlook and open it, error doesn't appear. SMTP and IIS Assigned for new certificate.

I don't know what issue is, but reconfiguring every client is not an option.

I'll appreciate any help. Thank you!

Outlook 2016 doesn't ask for password when reconnecting

Hello

I am using outlook 2016 to open my mailbox in Exchange server.

For the first time I defined my profile for outlook , it asked for mailbox password but there was no "remember password" check box as in the past. 

So next time I open outlook with my profile it didn't ask for password , it connected to my mailbox automatically , without password.

I saw that the Security tab for the profile became greyed out , so it's not possible to check the box " always ask for user identification" . 

What is the problem ? Any fix for that ?

Exchange 2013 messages from internal user fall to Junk

Greetings,

I have Exchange 2013 CU23 and Outlook 2013.

An issue is in one user or maybe in two.. When user1 sends message to user2 mail message falls to Inbox folder and then moves to Junk folder. What I've checked:

1) Turned off junk filtering in OWA - no result

2) Turned off junk filtering in Outlook - no result

3) Turned off Kaspersky Add-on in Outlook - no result

4) Fully removed Kaspersky Endpoint Protection from PC - no result

5) Checked Inbox rules - no result



Will be happy for any suggestions!

Can't find "Action" tab in MAIL ( HOME ) Ribbon

I would like to recall an email. I have Outlook 2013 and access to OWA . I'm able to see in Customize Ribbon a lot of tabs that wasn't actually visible in the Home Ribbon. I'm only interested in ACTION tab. Please help me. Thank you.

I'd like to create a role assignment policy that would only display owa options panel (ECP) when a user logs in to owa. Is there any specific rold that I can assign to the policy to achieve this?

Dear all,

When I tried to view outlookanywhere from command and ECP, I got error as below:

Unable to login OWA and ECP through external URL after renew Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate

Dear Experts,

We have 3 CAS servers and our Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate is expired on all 3 of them.

I renew the certificate from exchServer01 and published the new certificate using commands below

Set-AuthConfig -NewCertificateThumbprint $thumb -NewCertificateEffectiveDate $date
Set-AuthConfig -PublishCertificate
Set-AuthConfig -ClearPreviousCertificate
then iisreset

However, after that we're unable to login to ECP and OWA from external URL (eg.https://mail.contoso.com/owa)

We able to access the page, just when login it just redirected/loop to the login page

But we can login if directly point to each server (eg.https://exchServer01.contoso.com/owa)

Any advise is highly appreciated.

Mobile Phone data was wiped after deleted from mobile devices list

Hi Support,We occurred a serious problem when use Exchange 2013 ActiveSync function. 

We found mobile phone still can login Exchange2013 mailbox account via old password after we reset the password. We tried to deletemobile phone from mobile devices list in OWA/options/phone/mobile devices to make sure the new password effect immediately. Some of our users' mobile data was wiped after the above operation. What is the root cause of this? 

Outlook email text become weird characters

I am getting weird characters in Outlook email text. It works fine in Gmail but for some reason it does not display properly. I want to know do I need to install any language pack ?

Currently using Windows Server 2012 R2 and Exchange Server 2013 SP1.

Share Public Folder Calendar Externally

Is it possible to share an Public Folder Calendar in Office 365 with an external user? I've set the calendar to allow anonymous users to read.

If I right click on the calendar, the "Share Calendar" button under "Share" is clickable and not greyed out. However, when I click the button, nothing happens. This is in the desktop Outlook client.

The Office 365 settings under admin allow for the sharing of calendars outside the organization.

I am currently enrolled in university and being able to use a word document in order to take notes, write essays, and all sorts of needs for word. So if I can get some advice I would be very appreciative. 

Outlook generates a spoofed message when you forward an external meeting request, which is probably going to be treated as spam if the recipient is also external.

This isn't easy to explain but I'll try. Picture a 3 company scenario. Person from company A sends a meeting request to someone at company B. The person at Company B ropes in another person at Company C by forwarding the meeting invite. That invite will be sent with the originator's address as the Sender. With more and more companies doing anti-spoof enforcement(DMARC, etc), this means the message is going to be blocked.


Outlook 2016/2019 - Open recurring appointment on Public Folder Calendar; error

When a user tries to open a recurring appointment on a shared calendar by selecting "Open this occurrence" not "The entire series" they receive an error that says,"Sorry, we're having trouble opening this item.  This could be temporary, but if you see it again you might want to restart Outlook.  The file you're attaching is bigger than the server allows.  Try putting the file in a shared location and sending a link." If the user selects "Open the series" the appointment opens just fine.

I was going to have them just delete this recurring appointment and recreated it but, that would remove them ALL and they need to keep all previous recurring appointments due to the details they have added to each of them for reference and for possible future public records requests.

Also, the permissions on the calendar for the users that are attempting to edit this have Publishing Editor rights.  I have admin rights and I get the same error.

I do realize now that the best place to create shared calendars are in Resources and not the "Public Folder" but, I still need to resolve this for them.  Any suggestions?

Issue with Outlook connected to Exchange 2019

Created a new Exchange 2019 server in a new domain - the old server was 2010 but there had been a failed attempt to install Exchange 2019 in that domain (which isn't supported directly) which wouldn't allow an Exchange 2016 interim installation. After spending some time trying to get it to work, we gave up and elected to create a new domain and new Exchange 2019 installation instead as this domain has been upgraded many times back to NT 3.51.

In any case, the domain and server were built and was tested with the Exchange Connectivity Analyzer which it passed for the main domain name. Email flow is working but we have other domains on this server so, in migrating the first one, setup an SRV record in that domain's DNS that points the autodiscover to the primary domain as the certificate only has the primary domain's DNS records in it. This is how Exchange 2010 was setup and it worked.

Again, this was tested with Exchange Connectivity Analyzer and it passrd. So the certificate works, autodiscover works from the Analyzer, phone/mobiles work but we are having trouble with Outlook.

The current issue is with an Outlook 2013 client. They have an email with the secondary domain name but Outlook won't connect despite everything looking proper. We set the Exchange Proxy settings with basic authentication but keep getting the error message"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action".

We have been looking into authentication issues but the account works on mobile with the same settings (I know that is ActiveSync vs. a full Exchange connection but it verifies the account is working). We have also looked at the authentication methods, ensure Outlook Anywhere is configured and turned on, that the split DNS and External and Internal URLs are setup, etc. The client is external but all the ports are open (unless there is a new one that we are unaware of but then the analyzer should fail too shouldn't it?) and the DNS names resolve on this client.

Basically it all looks like it should be working from the server end and from running the analyzer but the client cannot setup an account for some reason.

We are wondering if anyone else ran into anything similar setting up Exchange 2019 or, if it's not a version issue, even 2016 or 2013? We are continuing to search for a solution but we are running out of things to check so I thought maybe one of you have been down this rabbit hole before and could help us out.

Unable to configure outlook profile of user - Exchange 2013

Same user i m able to configure using active sync, but not able to configure in outlook

in exchange mapi is enabled. 

while testing from microsft test connectivity i got the error:

 An error occurred while attempting to resolve the name.
 Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it

How to recover Outlook 2013 calendar items deleted in synched Android phone

I recently purchased a new Android phone. In the old phone, I deleted all of the calendar items thinking they would just be deleted from that phone. However, the phone was synched to my MS Office 2013 Outlook calendar, so all these appointments were deleted from Outlook as well. I looked in the Deleted folder in Outlook and they are not there. The Recoverable Items retrieval did not find them either. How can I retrieve/restore these many deleted appointments?
