Zoho Mail to Exchange migration

Hi,

We are looking to shift from Zoho Mail and Calendar to Exchange Online (Microsoft hosted).

What support can you offer to migrate all employees mail and calendar contents to Exchange? Does Microsoft offer this service or can you recommend a provider who does. This needs to be flawless as we can't risk losing information.

Thanks,

Martin

2010/2013 CoExistence OWA Proxy 403

Hi All,

I'm currently looking at implementing Exchange 2013 CU3 into the production environment, currently labbing up with restored backup of prod AD/Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4. Both servers are all on one in terms of roles. 2013 has been configured with the external address and 2010 has only internal configured, autodiscover reset to exchange 2013. Valid internal CA certificates exist on both servers.

Everything seems to be working well from what I've tested; other than OWA proxy authentication on Exchange 2010 which returns the generic IIS 403 Forbidden: Access is Denied. Accessing Exchange 2010 ECP via 2013 proxy works, etc.

2010/2013 are set to forms authentication and in various threads people have suggested enabling ntlm which has been done.

I have also performed resets on both servers virtual directories and no application/system event logs are generated when this occurs.

Here are authentication methods from get-owavirtualdirectory

2013 Authentication Methods
InternalAuthenticationMethods: {Basic, Fba}
BasicAuthentication: True
WindowsAuthentication: False
DigestAuthentication: False
FormsAuthentication: True

2010 Authentication Methods
InternalAuthenticationMethods: {Basic, Fba, Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated}
BasicAuthentication: True
WindowsAuthentication: True
DigestAuthentication: False
FormsAuthentication: True

The following are the event logs related to a proxy authentication attempt.

From what I can see everything points to authentication methods or something fundamental that I've missed, though it seems I've been through the majority of sensible configurations via ECP and set-Xvirtualdirectory, even causing the 403 to 401.2 in certain variations.

Does anyone have suggestions or if possible a working configuration for 2010/2013 coexistence?

Thank you for your time

Outlook 16 not syncing my outlook.com email on hotel wifi

Hi all -

Just landed for a week at out timeshare in Mexico and this year I brought down my Macbook to use for work purposes.  (Normally I bring down a PC.) When opening Outlook 16.20 I get a popup that says, "Outlook cannot connect to the Exchange server." My work email that is on Exchange too syncs just fine.  Its only my personal @outlook.com email that is having problems.

I have already tried re-inputting my password, and restarting Outlook. At the time of this writing, Outlook 16.20 is the latest version available.

Here is what the Sync report states:

ERROR: Outlook cannot connect to the Exchange server.

DETAILS: Verify that your Exchange account settings are correct.

ERROR CODE: -18597

Thanks in advance for your help!

Exchange users "the set of folders cannot be opened" shared mailboxes

$

I have an Exchange 2013 on-site environment (though I believe it was happening with 2010 just the same) where some users have delegated full-control access of some shared or additional-address mailboxes such as admin or service accounts. I've tried both adding the permissions via shell and the ECP, along with (in the shell) automapping and non-automapping.

The result is an error when the user tries to expand the folder, "the set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log onto Microsoft Exchange has failed."

To further compound the problem, this does not happen when *all* mailboxes are added to a users profile - ONLY certain ones. I have successfully added additional mailboxes that are in different OUs in AD, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. I have an email address policy set up that changes some OU users primary SMTP address to "@secondarydomain.com." - and those are the ones that don't seem to work, though I don't understand why this would cause the issue?

I should add that the permissions seem to be fine as OWA works fine to "open a different mailbox" option.

Has anyone else seen anything like this or have any idea where to start troubleshooting? The logs don't seem to reveal much (or I'm not looking in the right place). Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

We have a problem where e-mail which is send from a local server still going in the Junk E-mail folder even when the sender domain is in the Accepted Domains. Am I doing something wrong and is there another way where i can say that e-mail from that domain or sender is never Junk? Other then putting the domain or e-mail address in the users local outlook junk settings?

Kind regards,

Marc Bakker

mail exchange does not install in office 365: autodiscover error message

Hello;

I installed a Exchange 2013 server in a company and all mailboxes in the OU have been working well since then.

However in one of the pc of the company, the address of the collaborator was no longer receiving mails. I overplayed her and since then she has not settled down anymore. I changed the outlook profile and nothing helps.

I checked if the address is installed in another pc and it is done without problem. Likewise, when I look at the OWA address, it works just as well in sending and receiving mail.

How can I remedy this?

In this pc, I installed another exchange address of the collaborator and this one works without problem.

how do I have to reset this email address in this pc? Is there any manipulation to do in the register?

thank you in advance

Guy

Strange behaviour in recurring appointments Outlook 2013

$

0

Situation: herefore user A has a series of appointments scheduled in Outlook calendar in which he invited several collegues and external guests.

User B, who is authorized to edit this agenda on behalf of UserA, modifies the location where the appointment is to be made. She does this by opening an appointment in the series, choosing "the whole edit sequence", then adjust the location and choosing the 'send update ' option.

Result is that the guests receive new mail invitations appointments of the series seperately with the message 'no response required.

Now, when you open the original item from the series by clicking on it you get the note that this is part of a series and whether you want to open 'the entire series ' or ' only this'. If you choose 'all series' then the change that has been made is visible. Hoewever, if you choose 'only this' then the original -non modified- location is still in it. You will also have the option to remove.

Is this explainable behavior? Now if the user only is looking in his calendar screen he sees the old (faulty) location. Only when he explicitly clicks on the item and choose open for the entire series he will be given the correct information. This offcourse causes many misunderstandings.

Are we missing something. Anyone recognises this behaviour?

Outlook, text message, sender's name doesn't display

I am using Outlook to send text messages, but when messages come in, it only lists the phone number, not the name of the sender.  All of the contacts are in my contacts, with their mobile phone numbers, and when I go to send a text I can just type in their name, and Outlook recognizes them.  How do I get Outlook to display the name of the sender?

Outlook Proxy Settings Changing from DNS to IP Address After Server Updates

$

Hello,

We recently went through an infrastructure day and did some updates on our servers, including our exchange server (It is Exchange 2010, dare I say).

Our external Outlook users started reporting that their mailboxes stopped loading for them. We are noticing that their Exchange Proxy Settings are being changed from the DNS of the email server to its IP address after they successfully connect and retrieve their mailboxes.

After they close Outlook, their profiles fail to load until we change the proxy settings on their client to point to the DNS instead of the IP address of the exchange server. Save the settings, open outlook, and the profiles load.

Close outlook and we start the process all over to retrieve their mailbox.

I'm thinking there's a setting we can change on the exchange server to resolve this issue, but my knowledge is pretty minimal at this stage. Any suggestions on this one?

All help is greatly appreciated, happy holidays to all!

Auto reply preview in compose new message?

$

Hello,

I posted this question in the main forum, and they directed me here as my organization uses Microsoft Exchange.  My question is:

How do I turn on the preview of someone's auto reply in a new message that I am composing to them?

Others in my organization are able to see this feature, but I am not.  When they compose a new message and the person in the TO: field is out of the office, they see a preview of their auto reply in the header of the email above the TO: field.

I would like to enable this feature on my email as well for internal auto replies - but I cannot find anything to help me in doing so.  Does anyone know how to do this??

Thank you in advance!

Exchange 2013

Server 2012R2 Std

Domain provider- GoDaddy

Comcast is smart host

Have applied all WSUS updates, server is current

Last successful outbound message was on 12/21

If I send any message to a non -internal user,  , after some time, get a delay message like this:

Remote Server at smtp.g.comcast.net (68.87.20.6) returned '400 4.4.7 Message delayed'
12/25/2018 11:27:00 PM - Remote Server at smtp.g.comcast.net (68.87.20.6) returned '441 4.4.1 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: "Failed to connect. Winsock error code: 10060, Win32 error code: 10060." Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 68.87.20.6:587'

I get all incoming messages both at the internal exchange FQDN and Pop address (external) {I use Mapi to route inbound}. Autodiscover is functioning to route to exchange.

I checked GoDaddy and the SSL certificate for exchange I still live and valid.  ado checked certificates in exchange admin center and it is correct.

Where do I start to fix this?

OWA S/MIME Bug with Windows 10

Original Thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/oemail-osend/cumulative-update-for-windows-10-version-1607-for/2fdf032b-638c-463e-98df-12be6e7932b4

found this thread from earlier this year describing a problem with using OWA in Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10 with the S/MIME control installed. I am having the same issue, and posted in that thread. I was referred here by a Microsoft employee.

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 on my personal computer. I am using Outlook Web Access for DoD Enterprise Email on Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10. I have all available updates installed including the most recent cumulative update, 2017-08.

Before I installed the OWA SMIME control, all OWA functions worked normally. After I installed the SMIME control, when I open emails the message body does not display, and I cannot type in the message body. I also cannot view digitally signed emails that I have received. I can still modify the To, CC, and Subject fields.

When I open OWA on Google Chrome, everything works normally (minus the S/MIME functions, of course, which are not supported in Chrome).

This seems to be a known issue in OWA, at least based on the thread I linked to above. Is there something I need to do to my computer for the S/MIME control to work? I need to be able to access the encryption and digital signature functions via OWA.

Thank you.
