Single Sign On is not working for Exchange 2013 Cu12 OWA.I am trying it for the first time.

My environment has  one DC collocated with ADFS 3.0  and Exchange 2013 CU12 and Exchange 2016 CU1 on separate vm box.

I have followed technet article https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635116%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx i am getting below event id ;However i have configured my Relying Party as Https://Mail.contoso.local/owa but i am seeing https://localhost/owa in the event id.I am not sure why it is not redirecting to right url.DC time is synced with the exchange server in the domain.Windows Firewall

When i try to browse https://mail.contoso.local/owa i get a credential prompt from ADFS server when i enter the credentials i get 400 Bad request and when i check the ADFS event id i see the below error no error found in Exchange server.I have recreated the relying party trust and claim rule ,Rebooted the ADFS server  and exchange servers same issue. But currently i want Exchange 2013 OWA single sign on to be working internally any hep is much appreciated.

Hi;

I request a certificate for mail.domain.com and set it to my Exchange server for all services OWA, ECP, etc...

when I go to https://mail.doamin.com/owa and check other services that certificate work properly.

when I want to add my account in outlook outside of my organization I see that outlook request to connect to autodiscovery.domain.com. and show me a certificate error. when I accep that outlook works with my exchange account.

my server name is server.domain.com. and I replace all Virtual Directory to mail.domain.com for internal and external URL.

how can I fix that?

Office 365, Exchange 2013, Public Folder access

Hey team,

I'm scratching my head on this. Currently some users have trouble accessing Public Folders. Not all users are affected. User working in Outlook for the morning, and after a couple hours some Public Folders will give the "Cannot display the folder" error. Most other Public Folders continue to work. I put this down to the affected PF existing on a different PF mailbox, but unsure on anything else past this. PF Client Permissions haven't changed. I usually ask them to restart Outlook, sometimes it helps, most times it doesn't. Logout/login to Windows corrects this, but again only for some time. I've also tried redoing the Outlook profile via these steps.

  • Close Outlook
  • Close Skype for Business
  • Control Panel > Mail > Profiles > Remove
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook - delete all files
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook - delete all files
  • REGEDIT - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles - delete profile key
  • REGEDIT - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles - delete profile key
  • Relaunch Outlook, give profile a name, complete setup

Environment:
DNS: autodiscover points to OnPrem Exchange
EX1: Exchange 2013, Mbx+Cas, AdminDisplayVersion Version 15.0 (Build 1178.4).
EX2: Exchange 2013, Cas, AdminDisplayVersion Version 15.0 (Build 1178.4).
Exchange Online via Office 365.
Employee mailboxes migrated and licensed with E3.
Public Folders via Ex13 mailboxes onprem, Exchange Online configured via PowerShell for Remote PF.
Example Client: Outlook 2013 x86 15.0.4859.1000, Windows 8.1 x64, on internal LAN.
Group Policy setting registry for EnableADAL for 'Modern Auth' - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/32711.exchange-online-how-to-enable-your-tenant-for-modern-authentication.aspx

I'm suspecting some authentication configuration issues somewhere, such as Autodiscover or Outlook Anywhere. But then I think that would affect multiple or all people, which it doesn't. I'd like to check all of this to ensure my config is set properly for my environment.

Any PowerShell outputs I can give, let me know.

When I clicked on ost file and nothing. How to open it?

I decided to go ahead this morning and set up Outlook 2013 this morning.
When I clicked on it, it came up with this message:
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\Users\XXX\AppData\local\Microsoft\Outlook\XXX_m sn.ost cannot be opened."
I looked the file is there, and Outlook '07 works just fine. All of the other O365 programs work great, no problems.
How do I open ost file?
Ideas?

Way to turn off calendar notifications for other mailbox in outlook 2010?

Got a user whos PA to Chief Exec so has both mailboxes set up in profile.

She wants to see just her notification not the CEs. So, for mail, I've disabled dekstop alerts for mail and added a rule to show a desktop alert when its her account only. Works well.

However, she still gets calendar reminders. I cant see how - is there any way to do the same for calendar reminders?

Meeting Forward Notification (MFN) sends to a user when users delegate creates a new meeting on the users calendar

Hi,

Recently I started to receive complains from important employees in my organization that when their delegates create new meetings from their calendars, and invite other attendees - they receive a Meeting Forward Notification.

This bothers them, and according to them that wasn't the situation before recently.

I never had the chance to know what was the situation previously, and also didn't check myself if their complains are true and they're doing everything right.

I only want at this stage to know:

Is this by design?

Is there a possibility to disable this without disabling MFN's totally (Just that MFN's won't be sent when delegate create a new meeting)?

Were the conditions for MFN change recently?

Does it relate to infrastructure configuration?

Is there any permissions configuration where this issue doesn't occur (For example to grant mailbox level permissions)?

All mailboxes related to this issue are in exchange 2013, using outlook 2010 or OWA.

Thanks in advance.

Unable to use OWA from external networks with Internet Explorer

Hi All,
we have an issue accessing OWA from domain clients using Internet Explorer from external networks.
If we access OWA from the LAN, the Integrated Windows Authentication works fine, but if the same client is used from outside the LAN, Internet explorer shows the error "This page can't b displayed".
To get it work, we need to disable the "Integrated Windows Authentication" option from IE (or use another browser).

How can fix this problem?

Thanks

Sort e-mails by recipient's e-mail in the Sent Items - OWA

Dears,

I'd like to know how to sort in sent items folder by recipient's e-mails in Office 365 Outlook Web App? I have a Exchange user account in a Corporate Domain. When I'm using a Outllook Client installed in my desktop I can organize in my Sent Items folder the e-mails by filter "TO", but when open the OWA and try to organize them, this option isn't available. There is a hotfix that fixes this? I'd like to filter the e-mails by destination and not only "from", "date", "size", etc...

Thanks.

OWA access problem after install CU14

Hi,

After install CU14 (for Exchange 2013) the OWA does not work. The ECP is good.

I try recreate virtual directory on IIS.

After this, OWA and ECP same broken.

If I type the simple URL (https://[servername]/owa, the URL changed this: " .... flogon.aspx%252525253furl%252525253dhttps%25252525253a%25252525252f%25252525252 ..." --> this is a very very long string, and the OWA not displayed - of course.

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks,

problem removing or changing user photos

We're having a strange problem with the user photo thumbnails in the various clients we use.

We have an Exchange 2013 organization (3 front end servers, 3 mailbox servers, 6 databases), Lync 2013 and Outlook 2010/2013 clients.

When we change the user picture in Active Directory, we do not see the picture replicate to the clients. In one particular case. the picture was changed three times and we see one picture in OWA (the one in Active Directory), one in Outlook and another one in Lync. In a different case, we see two different pictures in two different OWA sessions (which I didn't think was possible).

As far as updating the Global Address List, I've tried the following commands:

Set-Mailbox"user" -RemovePicture

Update-GlobalAddressList -Identity "Default Global Address List"

In Outlook, I've tried "Download Offline Address Book", both with "Download changes since last Send/Receive" checked, and unchecked.

I saw in another forum a suggestion to migrate the user to a different database, and I tried that, but to no avail.

Any suggestion of what we can do here?

Thanks,

David

Formatting on pasted signature in OWA

$

Greetings all!

We are attempting to create an e-signature process that works both in desktop client and web app versions of Outlook.   It would be based on style and formatting associated with our branding.

We would have a company logo and disclaimer generated by Exchange with individual staff creating their personal demographics from a template we would provide in an HTML file.

We find that pasting the demographic part of the signature from our simple HTML source directly into the OWA signature manager area in settings does not retain formatting retained in the desktop client, specifically a margin in the bottom to provide a space between the staff's demographics and the logo/disclaimer.

If I try to create a new version of the signature in Word, save as HTML file and then paste in OWA, I always get the signature is too long.

Any ideas on how to create an OWA signature that retains our formatting needs and maintains the space before the Exchange generated logo and disclaimer?

Thanks!

We are facing issue with the global address list, one of the account is showing up with globe icon with single user icon. We checked there was one account but it was not either linked or having mailbox. But it is been displaying in the GAL. No public folder, no contacts in Exchange and in AD, no groups. Not sure how to find and remove. Please suggest a tool to remove the same.

Hi All

I found issue about reset password via OWA when linked mailbox had password expired. We have 2 companies, company A has Installed as MS Exchange 2013 and company A is partner company that has not MS Exchange installed

Forest Domain of company A and B configured forest Trusted via Leased Line

Mailbox of company B is created on MS Exchange 2013 at company A with linked mailbox

Example

USER01 on company B is created as a mailbox on MS Exchange at company A with linked mailbox

USER01 that is at company B was passward expired. When USER01 logged into OWA, System would required to reset password. USER01 assigned new password that in the password policy of company, OWA shown as "Invalid user or password"

Firewall between AD and AD on both company open all ports.

Please help me to fix this issue

Thank you in advance

Event ID 4 while attempting to access Mobile Devices list in ECP/OWA

Hi Community!

We just recently setup an Exchange 2013 (CU6) environment migrating away from Exchange 2010.  Our 2013 environment has 1 Mailbox server and 1 Client Access Server.  Everything appears to be functioning correctly between 2010 & 2013, except when attempting to access the Mobile Device list from a user account within Exchange Admin Center in 2013.  We receive an error 400 Outlook Web App Options and Event ID 4 on the Mailbox Server.

Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on this issue.

Dear all

I have a problem with my newly set up Exchange 2013 server in a remote location. There a just two mailboxes residing on this server in the moment just for testing. My problem is that I can use Outlook Web App to connect to server, I can send and receive mails but cannot set up Outlook. When auto configuring Outlook settings the process goes fine through establishing network connection and searching for user settings, but stops by “Log on to server” asking for user name and password. Even if I enter correct data, user name and password request returns each time again and again.

If I click retry, I receive a message stating “The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable, Outlook must be online to complete…”. Very similar behavior appears with both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2013. From the same workstation I can open OWA, either using external or internal URL and everything goes fine. Even if I try to configure Outlook manually and enter Exchange server name and user name and click “Check name”, I receive an error “Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and using the proper server and mailbox name…”.

I can ping the Exchange server and the name of the server is being correctly resolved.

On the server itself I checked Outlook Anywhere authentication method and it is set to “Basic”.

Same happens on workstations locally and in the remote location when connected via LAN.

Same happens when I set authentication as NTLM both on server and on client

When clicking “Check name” sporadically I receive a message “Name cannot be resolved”

No matter what I do, I receive a password prompt: “Connect to interal.domain.com” with no success in Outlook and can connect at the very same time from the same workstation using https://internal.domain.com/owa or even from outside the organization using external URL and Outlook Web App.

Please help

Thanks a lot

Eduard
