Hi all,
I've gotten Exchange Server 2013 CU5 running on Windows Server 2012 R2. It has the CAS and Mailbox roles running on it and its sitting behind a Forefront TMG 2010 that is on Windows Server 2012 R2 as well. When our remote users use OWA (Outlook Web App) its fine. However, because of our policies, those users have to change there passwords.
When those users go to OWA to change there passwords, it changes just fine. Then the Outlook Web App screen comes up, wanting them to sign back into OWA using their new password. When they use the new password to sign in, they always get the (HTTP 400 Bad Request) error, and the URL at this point shows https://MyMailboxServer.com/owa/auth.owa . When the user deletes the last part of that URL (/auth.owa) and then presses ENTER, it completes and goes into the mailbox every time.
Another thing that works is that instead of removing the last part of the URL (/auth.owa), if the user goes and clears the browser cache, close the browser, then open it up again and navigate to OWA and sign in. It works that way as well...
This issue affect of our remote users in the United States who exclusively use OWA and the clients they have are a mix between Win7, Win8 and Win10 machines with some being domain joined over Direct Access while others aren't domain joined.
Can anyone help figure out why /auth.owa needs to be removed or browser cache needs to be cleared before the user can sign in using their new password?
I have my email setup on all my systems outlook, ipad and my phone. When someone sends me a text message that message gets put in all my email accounts inbox. How do I stop this?
Thanks
Hi Guys,
It might be that i am asking the most dumbest question here but i need to get my Confusion clear here about the external and the Internal Client for the Exchange 2013.
Internal Client: User/ client who are working with physicaly in the Buliding and inside the Domain and their workstation is in the domain.
External Client: Client who all have configured the Outlook with the Exchange server username and password and their workstation is not in the Domain.
what about the Admin users , whose laptops are in the domain and they have configured the outlook inside the Domain and they also take their laptop outside of the domain and Use the Public internet for the outlook connectivity.
I am asking this Question becasue i am not coming to the Point which Authentication Method is the Best for Exchange Users.
thank you so much.
hi there,
I have a client using Exchange 2010 SP3 , 2MBx servers in DAG, 2 HUB/CAS servers configured with WNLB, no DNS round robin, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 are widely used, we dont have Lync/OCS/SFB servers, also we dont use public folders, "autodiscover.domain.com" is resolving to the IP address of WNLB, when I locate the servicebindinginformation it showshttps://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml for both the CAS servers, does not show the actual servers fqdn.
Recently we have started deploying outlook 2016 and after which we immediately started experiencing the password prombt issues on the outlook 2016 clients but later we noticed this hapennig with outlook 2013 also, Outlook anywhere is enabled , outlook are configured with autodicover.
1. Reconfiguring outlook profiles, did not help.
2. Bypassing WNLB (by pointing autodiscover to CAS server directly) still the same issue.
3. manual configuration , still same issue.
4. as the problem is expericecnd with outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 both , i dont think this prob is due to outlook version.
5. This problem is also not related to password cache, as I already validated.
6. No certificate related issue, validated the certificates on all the Exchange servers.
I'm not sure whether to rely on this article, http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/tip/How-to-fix-repeated-Outlook-password-prompts-and-make-end-users-happy , he is proposing to deregister Exchange and register GCS.
please help me with your inputs.
Our office is set up with one email address that we all share as an Exchange account. However each Outlook will not sync the emails correctly.
If I delete an email, other people in the office still see it on their Outlook.
Is there a way to fix this?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
I am having problems attaching files as the attachments do not always attach at first, second attempts. I then get the error message:
Hi,
I have been investigating an issue with a user who has access to a shared mailbox.

I'm in the process of testing in Outlook 2016 for Mac. Will post an update.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, i have a strange problem with some of my room mailbox who's configurated to get approved by a user before the creation of the event.
3 users have delegation on some room mailbox, the security was made with a a group membership ( i try user directly but not change), when they receive a notification in Outlook to accept or refuse an event for the room, most of the time, when they open the email, they got an error, can't read the calendar, they didn't view the calendar availability in the email, so they can't accept or refuse it. All these users has added all the room they manage in the calendar portion of Outlook, they can see all the event, can create, move, delete all event. the new event wait for approval they can see it directly in the calendar and accept it, so right seems to be ok. so why in the received email request for approval they can approve it and see the calendar event?
I uncheck the exchange cache mode, I try to recreate an Outlook profile. the problems appears most of the time and on different room.
We are running two Exchange servers (Exchange 2013 SP1 CU12) with one DAG, one DB. As of late, we have been having problems with our voicemail system's power user account logging into mailboxes.
If we use another account, it will work temporarily but produce the same results. We created a whole new account just to test and are exhibiting the same symptoms. Checked all components and services and can confirm that they are up without any issue. If we restart the IMAP services after the account exhibits these symptoms, the problem goes away temporarily.
We already bumped up the connection limits for service sessions per user and sessions per user, and they are set to double (2000) what the voicemail system can handle. We then rebooted both servers and are exhibiting the same symptoms. No errors in event viewer either.
It almost seems like a limit keeps getting hit despite it being pushed up, but I don't know where to look at this point.
When checking the service account manually via telnet'ing into the IMAP service, we get the following:
Secured: CN=owa.<domain>.com, OU=Domain Control Validated
S: * OK The Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 service is ready.
C: 1 CAPABILITY
S: * CAPABILITY IMAP4 IMAP4rev1 AUTH=PLAIN AUTH=NTLM AUTH=GSSAPI UIDPLUS MOVE ID CHILDREN IDLE NAMESPACE LITERAL+
1 OK CAPABILITY completed.
C: 2 LOGIN <user_account> <password>
S: 2 NO LOGIN failed.
C: 3 LIST "" *
S: 3 BAD Command received in Invalid state.
Running a test for IMAP connectivity on that service account gives us the following:

The outlook 2013 Syn Active account, caught error when sending with Certificated/Signature email ?
Greetings everyone. Hope someone can help. I recently purchased a new HPZbook (hopefully last laptop I'll need in the remaining years of my worklife!). It came with Win 7 professional SP-1 pre-installed. I updated Windows via the MS auto-update feature. I then installed MS Office Home and Business 2010. Both of these are exactly what I have on the old HP Pavilion that the new ZBook is replacing. My company uses MS Exchange server for its email application.
Unfortunately, I am not getting either an Envelope Icon in the Taskbar nor a Desktop Alert when new email messages arrive. Obviously I have all of the appropriate boxes checked in Outlook File/Options/Mail. My old computer displays both of these alerts every time a new email arrives so I know these items work!
Very annoying to have to constantly open the Outlook application to see if I have new emails. Can anyone help please? I've searched all over the net for a solution and saw all kinds of crazy ideas. I did go into Control Panel/Programs/MS Office and tell it to REPAIR itself but did not help. I also made sure I only have one .pst file on my hardrive.
Thanks!
Will D.
Hi All
We have Exchange 2013 servers with MBX and CAS roles installed. we have exchange 2010 PF servers. All our users are using outlook 2013 to access their mailboxes. we are planning to upgrade office 2013 to 2016. so we installed 2016 on some of the pilot users machines. As part of the testing, we observed that some of the outlook 2016 users are unable to connect to public folder servers. Its not a PC specific rather its a user specific. PF connection is not showing in outlook's connection status. we tried to disable MAPIHttpDisabled through registry but still we are seeing this issue. For the same user PF is working from OWA and outlook 2013. can you help me on this?
we still have 2010 CAS servers left in our organization becoz of PF access, also installed CAS role on PF servers and configured PF remote mailbox.
Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help.
Hi All,
Just asked this question over in the office forum but was told it would be best for me to post it here instead.
We have an issue in a clients environment with Outlook and Exchange playing up with calendar invites and corrupting reoccurring calendar appointments.
I will break down the scenario in detail below (sorry for the long post).
For the sake of discussion we have Jill who is the PA for Kate.
Jill has shared access to Kate's calendar and inbox so that she can accept and create meeting requests and move existing ones.
The issue comes about when Jill creates a reoccurring calendar appointment like a meeting. The meeting will display fine in Jill's outlook and you can open the meeting and read all the information from inside of it without any issues.
When Jill adds Kate in as a member of the meeting then Kate will receive the email to accept the meeting request, if she tries to accept the meeting request from Kate's inbox it will prompt with an error saying "Cannot open this item. The operation failed. An object cannot be found."
Upon closing the error the appointment still appears in Kate's calendar with Kate accepting it as tentative.
The second part of this is that you can open the calendar appointments for the reoccurring meeting fine but should you move any of the reoccurring entries for the meeting (say if you had to move the meeting forward or backwards one week) then you will no longer be able to open that calendar entry and it just displays an error message saying that the file can't be found.
The original setup when this initially happened was as follows:
* Outlook 2010 on physical computer
* Exchange 2010
Recently implemented setup that is now in use and the problem still occurs:
* Outlook 2016 via Citrix on thin client
* Exchange 2010
From the testing that I have done I believe it is either something with the OST/PST file that is created for the users profile or communication to the Exchange server not updating changes correctly. Happy to provide logs or additional details to solve this issue!!
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Ben
HI,
I have setup a ‘Connected Account” on outlook.com (the web app – not on a desktop app).
The account is setup with IMAP. When sending emails, I get a ‘bounce-back’ with the below error msg
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 Messages should have one or no Date headers, not 2.
The email bouncing back contains the email I sent and wgen looking at the email header the date is listed twice. Please see below email header

Anyone have any idea why this is?
To clarify L
It is another 3:rd party domain. I have set this domain up using IMAP on my computer to test and do not have the issue with 2 dates being added to the email header. The duplication of the dates only seems to happen when using OWA.
This happens with all emails sent from the OWA.
