on an exchange 2013, which are the most secure practices on authentication (outlook, owa, outlook anywhere, etc.)?

I have Office 365/2016 installed. The automatic send/receive does not stay checked!  I tried the new profile, which I should not have had to do, but that did not work.  Come on MS.  It has worked before in previous versions just fine.

Hi, I have been trying to insert my company logo in my email signature on Outlook Client 2013 but the results have been disappointing. Would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you in advance!

My company logo is in png-format. Its dimensions are 1221 x 374 px, and has a dpi of192. Its size is 37.9 KB. 

I have read from various online sources that it is better to resize the image such that it is not larger than 10 KB.

However, I do not want to resize the image (to ideal width: 150 px) before inserting it in the signature editor, because doing that is bound to degrade the resolution of the image, no matter how good the photo editor is. I have tried gimp and various photo editors, but the resulting picture quality is poor and grainy. I can barely make out the text in the logo. 

These are the 4 methods that I have tried:

1. I followed this YouTube tutorial. I insert the image in signature editor. The location of the image is at my Desktop. Save and close. 

I insert the signature in a new email. The resulting image is large and appears according to its original dimensions in my signature. So I resize the image in the inserted email signature, copy that resized image, then paste it in the signature editor. The resized image will appear, with reduced dimensions. I save and close the signature editor.

Then, I insert the signature again in the email. The dimensions of the image are correct and they appear perfect. So I do a test by sending an email to myself. When I view the email on Outlook Client, the image looks perfect. However, on Outlook Web App, the image is extremely large and out of place. I have been racking my brains on how to solve this problem.

2. Same as step 1. But instead of inserting the logo from my Desktop, I inserted the logo located on the web by typing its URL in full. I used: Insert > Link to File.

However, the same problem appears. The image in the send email looks great on Outlook Client, but too large on Outlook Web App.

3. Re-render the image to 96 dpi using IrfanView. I read from this source that Outlook will rescale any image that is not 96 dpi.

Tried Step 1 again. But image size in Outlook Web App is too large again.

4. I followed the steps in this link to create a HTML email signature. I used an online WYSIWYG HTML editor to generate the HTML code. I realised that altering the height and width of the image in the html changes the size of the image only in the WYSIWYG editor. I believe that Outlook Client overrides all provided image dimensions.

Trying to use POP3 on one server for use by one application that requires it. I've changed the login typ on that server for POP3 to PlainTextLogin.

No matter what format I use for the user name... domain\username, UPN... it fails to authenticate with the error:

"Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings.  The server responded: -ERR Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."

The outgoing mail works fine.

On the server I've tried using Test-PopConnectivity with the credentials of various users that are enabled for POP3.
I get:
Result: Failure
Error: Unabled to create MailboxSession object to access the mailbox...
Detailed error information:
 [Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.WrongServerException]: The user and the mailbox are in
 different Active Directory sites. Inner error

Can anyone give me some idea of how to get a POP3 client to authenticate?

I'm hoping someone can help em wrap my head around my issues with exchange 2013 and imap.

I have imap enabled on my exchange server, the services are all started and i can add an imap account in outlook successfully so i know its working. However i'm running into a couple of issues that i'm trying to sort out.

issue 1: if i use telnet to connect to my exchange server on port 143 it loads the banner correctly, however if i try on 993 the telnet windows will remain blank and not load the banner.

issue 2: when connected to port 143 via telnet i can run the .starttls command successfully, then when i run . login username password it does fail, no does it succeed. it just sits there until the 3 min timeout happens and disconnects. I have checked the imap log but it does not show anything in relation to this login attempt.

Issue 3: even though outlook is able to connect to imap, other applications and appliances are failing with the error "NO Server Unavailable. 15" error.

i have attached a screenshot of my imap settings, and also have the firewall disabled on the mail server atm while i'm testing. If anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it.

The problem I faced doesn't seem that difficult before I give some circumstances that make it challenging to me:

Within my organisation we are managing several group mailboxes used in Outlook 2013. Every month we need to prepare a report with amount of mails received to each (also the report for sent). I made a custom search folders showing mails received from last month so I could simply see the number of items in the bottom left corner, however it is showing more than it should. The criteria seem to be fine, but the result is affected by the fact, thatsome mails sent from specific group mailbox need to be moved to "Inbox" sub-folder and they are included in search results while they can not.I need only mails with specific values in "To" OR "Cc" fields to be shown in a search folder, but "Advanced" option doesn't give the option to select "OR" instead of "AND" when preparing the criteria list.

The tricky part of it is that the entire process takes place on a remote machine we have no administrator access to. We can try to request some minor changes to the registry, but there's no guarantee they will be implemented, so first of all I'd love to hear some answers focusing on Outlook and not requiring changes only administrator could do.

There's also chance, that within few weeks I will have access to a machine allowing me to use those mailboxes on a local Outlook copy so making these registry changes should be possible, but that's only a chance, so I'd like to make it work on RDP machine anyway.

I have just updated Exchange 2013 SP1 with cumulative 12, after the server reboot outlook clients can longer get email. All other access is fine, being webmail, mobiles ect.

Exchange 2007 and 2010 cleints cant connect. 2013 connect, but doesnt updated.

Since this morning I've been facing the problem with opening OWA/ ECP. When try to do it I'm getting the error message in browser:

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

Restarting of IIS service doesn't help.

I've got an issue for a user based in Exchnage 2013 sp1 where user's INBOX folder is not appearing on his outlook and OWA. instead When i login to OWA or connect to outlook it opens in OUTBOX folder.

I just setup an pop3 account and can´t get connected to that. 

I allways get "-ERR Logon failure: unknown user name or password."

I can access OWA successfully with this password.

I am not using SSL.

I installed a brand new Exchange 2013 server (platform is W2008R2) and it worked fine with IMAP. Espacially I habe to use IMAPSync.

I then applied CU12 and, without a good reason, IMAP stopped working. I mean authentication fails. I get only BAD Command error 12 when trying to telnet. I have been struggling for days now without a clue of what could happen.

Not even capability seems to be working when I try to connect with telnet on port 143:

I have setup a ‘Connected Account” on outlook.com (the web app – not on a desktop app).

The account is setup with IMAP. When sending emails, I get a ‘bounce-back’ with the below error msg

    SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:

    550 Messages should have one or no Date headers, not 2.

The email bouncing back contains the email I sent and wgen looking at the email header the date is listed twice. Please see below email header

It is another 3:rd party domain. I have set this domain up using IMAP on my computer to test and do not have the issue with 2 dates being added to the email header. The duplication of the dates only seems to happen when using OWA.

This happens with all emails sent from the OWA.

My manager is having a problem.  "randomly" reoccurring meetings in outlook will after some time start showing as this:

"Exchange 2013 re-created a meeting that was missing from your calendar"

With all the "meat" of the body is missing.

We are running Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013.  They look the same in OWA.  Meetings can be from different senders, different times etc.

Any thoughts?

We have a Exchange Server 2013 CU11 running and clients run with Outlook 2013.
Sometimes when our users either Accept, Change or Decline a meeting request and use the option to send their answer right away. 
then they get a NDR returned saying their mail cannot be delivered because of corrupt message content.

I'm not exactly sure since when this appeared, it feels like its since we run CU11, but im not exactly sure if that really the cause.
I'm hoping you guys have a good suggestion on how to resolve these issues.
