Dear Exchange Expert,
we have just migrating to Office 365 for some of the mailboxes. most of the users are using Outlook 2010 SP2 and some will be Outlook 2013. Currently, I encountered a lot of issues with delegation mailbox as the behaviour is not like on premise exchange
before.
First, Auto Mapping is not working both for Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013. The alternative workaround will be manually map via File | Info | Account Settings | Select Primary Email Account | More Settings | Advanced | Add Mailboxes | Click Apply. This can
work on Outlook 2010, but it doesn't work on 2013. Below are the troubleshooting that has been done:
1. Upgrade to the latest SP by following the Office 365 Requirements.
2. Manually Map the Delegation Shared Mailbox after running the powershell , but when I expand the folder, it will become Not responding and finally come out with error message "Cannot Expand The Folder. The Sets of Folder cannot be opened. Microsoft
Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the exchange server is down for maintenance".
3. Automatically Map with Powershell "Add-MailboxPermission "SharedMailbox" -User "Delegated Users" -AccessRights FullAccess -AutoMapping $true won't work as well. there is no even folder being mapped into the outlook
4. Close the outlook and try to setup as additional mailbox via ControlPanel | Mail | Email Account | Select Primary Email Account | More Settings | Advanced | Add Mailboxes | Click Apply. After that, launch outlook to test. Outlook will start to keep prompting
for credentials for the SharedMailbox, but when I key in user credentials and password, it won't get thru. it will keep prompting persistently. Clicking Cancel without entering password won't work too. By right it should not prompting for credentials as sharedmailbox
in office 365 don't have the login password.
5. Start Outlook in Safe mode won't work too to ensure that there is no add ins is blocking.
6. Login to OWA and tested that the shared mailboxes able to add in OWA, meaning the permission has been configured properly.
7. Try to give SendAccess right, there is no issue. user is able to act as the owner of the shared mailbox and send out email.
8. Close any antivirus applications, it doesn't work too.
Please advise.
Thanks so much.
Best Regards,
