NO Server Unavailable. 15 on Exchange 2013

Hello,

After a SELECT "INBOX" I'm getting NO Server Unavailable. 15

Any ideas?

I've tried all sorts of adjustments to IMAP to no avail.  This used to work on our Exchange 2010 server but since migrating to 2013 we are having issues.

OUTLOOK 2013 DISCONNECTS TO EXCHANGE SERVER

Hello,

I am a student at The Ohio State University. I configured Outlook 2013 to check my EXCHANGE SERVER. It was successfully configured. However, outlook RANDOMLY disconnects to my EXCHANGE SERVER. I have been experiencing this for a month.

After I restart my computer, outlook will connect to my email again, but it will still disconnect to my email randomly at another time the day after
I am using window 8.1
Outlook 2013 (latest version)

Very slow access to additional mailbox in Outlook

Hello

Got a problem with additional mailbox that is opened (Outlook/Advanced tab/Open additional mailbox).

I have 2 additional mailboxes that are opened in this fashion. One is working fine. The other is very problematic:

Whenever I click on any folder it is extremely slow; ie navigating between folders is painfully slow; by the time you clikc on a folder the hourglass appears and you must wait at least 20-30 seconds (it feels like Outlook will hang up!)

It seems to be a problem on the server side since many users have the same problem and behaviour as myself (ie Their own Mailbox and several additional mailboxes opened)

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this or if there is a better way I can troubleshoot the isse? (via a tool or logging?)

Apparently the users have this problem since the mailbox was migrated from 2007 to 2013 (dont know if that helps)

Exchange Server 2013 Default OWA Apps not available

Hello,

I have problems with Exchange 2013 CU11 because doesn't show the default Apps (Bing Maps, etc.) in owa in the grey bar before the body message. I tried to add other apps from Office Store and they works OK (EmailTranslator and MHA). 

The OS is Windows 2012 R2. 

We use the IE 11 to do the owa session.

Outlook (all version) keeps asking for a username and password (for all users) after Lunar New Year

Dear Friends,

In Vietnam, We have 9 days off for Lunar New Year.

After all people comeback to work, and outlook repeatedly asks for a password (for all users & any Outlook version)

I have switched outlook to Online mode but it's does not worked.

This problem is urgent and hope your help soon,

Outlook OTP authentication to reset password : possible?

Hello,

Is it possible to have an OTP authentication integrated to outlook?

The employees are novice technology users, they keep forgetting their password/answer to secret question.
To reduce the burden on the management can we have OTP authentication to reset outlook password?

If yes how? (Preferably free/open source solutions, since its a non-profit organization)

IMAP issue

hello everybody,

I am facing serious problem that makes applications connected to exchange 2013 via IMAP (143) to not work fine.

telnet <exchange server name> 143 

returns a blank screen

even telnetting from local host on port 143 returns blank screen

the IMAPPROXY component is in active state

and the IMAP service is running

can anyone please help me resolving this issue?

Changing Default Message Font in OWA for All Users

Hello,

is it possible in Exchange 2010/2013 to change Default font for new Messages in OWA for all users at once instead of having the users change the font manually through the UI.

I only found answer to Exchange 2007 where the answer was no, but wondered if this had changed in 2010 or 2013.

Out of office replies in Exchange 2013 not working for external recipients

Hi,

Few days ago a couple of company workers went to vacation. They set up OOF automatic replies in OWA 2013. However automatic replies are not working for external recipients (outside of company). Internal users (company users) receive OOF notification.

I'm using smart host in sender connector configuration (SMTP server of internet provider) to deliver emails. Any clues about this problem ? Please find below part of the transaction log. For testing purposes i set up administrator account to be on vacation.

Some users see "Web page cannot be found" when trying to log into OWA after 2010 to 2013 CAS cutover

Hello everyone - This is my first post so please bear with me if I've posted in the wrong section. Here is my scenario.

My organization is currently upgrading to Exchange 2013 from 2010.  Over the weekend we performed the cutover from our single 2010 CAS to our two load balanced 2013 CASs.  After the cutover we did extensive testing with connectivity to OWA, RPC, Active-Sync, etc.

We conducted testing with 2010 & 2013 mailboxes.  Everything was looking good.  Our test users with a 2013 mailbox were able to log into the 2013 OWA and our test users with 2010 mailboxes were proxied to the 2010 OWA as expected both internally and externally.  In the same say, both types of users (2010,2013) running Outlook 2013 clients connected with no issues both internally and externally.  In addition, mobile clients were working as expected for both types of users.

Here is the dilemma.  After a few hours two users (not part of the test group) reported their Outlook 2013 client, mobile client, and OWA access weren't working.  Their mailboxes are still on 2010.

I conducted a screen-share with one of the users and discovered that after the cutover, when he/she tried to log into OWA they would get to the login screen but after entering in their credentials the page would immediately go to a "Web page cannot be found" message.  I tried to eliminate this persons local machine and home network as the issue so I tested this persons account from a machine outside (my home network) and inside (laptop in our office) the corporate network.  I received the same results.  I reached out to an individual who's mailbox was virtually identical to one of the users reporting the issue.  This particular user was able to log into OWA with no issues both internally and externally.  We also tested with this users multiple clients (Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013), iPhone, Android, Windows clients.  Everything for this user worked as expected.

At the end of the day we ended up rolling back to the 2010 CASs.  After which the two users access to OWA, Outlook, Mobile client starting working again.

At this point I am completely at a loss.

I wish I had more technical information to provide such as Error Logs but I could not find a single error in the Event Logs for these particular users and this particular issue. 

Any suggestions are welcome.

Outlook /OWA apps not working

Hi all

I have just finished installing a production exchange 2013 install with one CAS and one MBX. All functions are working well OWA works internally and externally and users that are still on exchange 2007 are being transferred over to the old OWA when they log in. The problem that I have now is that the Outlook apps are not working in outlook 2013 or OWA.

Bing maps and Action item either fail to load or I get Navigation to this webpage was canceled. If I hit the refresh the page link I get there was a problem with this websites security cert. If I then click continue I get a 404 cant find page.

This happens to all users that have been moved over the the ex2013 server.

I have a feeling this is an internal url problem as I think the cert being sent is for the private cert and not the public cert

Has anyone seen this before?

One question.

How do I erase or change the short text feeds / old subjects. ( Inside the red circles ) 

The feeds our not relevant at all but keeps popping up when I'm starting to write a new email.

Setting up Outlook 2013 in Windows 2012 R2 RDS Exchnage 2013 SP1

Hello,

I have recently installed two Exchange servers and a witness server (as a DAG), and was able to send an receive emails via OWA. When trying to setup Outlook client for remote desktop users, after the name is verified, I get an error that there was an error and the login to the exchange server didn't work. I did force the credentials, mainly because the Exchange server is on a separate domain. The outlook client is a part of Office 2013 32 bit.
Right now the Exchange server is still in the trial period.
What I'm looking for first is a good guide for installing outlook in a Windows 2012 R2 RDS farm for remote desktop users, but if there is a simple setup that can fix my issue, then even better !

The exact error message is: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.

Set a Default Replyto Address on a Distribution Group

Hello, 

Our organisation has the following requirement: 

A User e-mails Distribution Group 1 <group1@domain.com>
All Replies (or reply to all) should default to a different group in the mail-client 'To' Field called >> Distribution Group 2 <group2@domain.com>

You can do this on a client level using Microsoft Outlook.
New Mail Message > Options Tab > Direct Replies To > Specify the 'Have replies sent to' 
Send the Mail and all replies are directed to that user/group/etc.

However we need it to work on a global scale for replies directed at a particular distribution group.

Our Environment:
Exchange 2013 
Most users are running Office 2013, Office 2016, Office for Mac 2016

Only show color on outlook 2013 categories

Hello everybody,

I am trying to find a way to hide the category name on Outlook 2013. I used to reduce the size of the column but one of my coworker uses MANY categories so I have to keep it big enough.

Is there a way to only keep the color and remove the text? He keeps saying it was possible before losing some of his settings but I can't find it.

For primary account, autodiscover is working fine and all settings are done automatically. BUT when I'm trying to add another account to my Outlook, I have this error (attached). 
The server is working fine.. tested ping, nslookup, autodiscover are ok. I need to press "check name" and choose the users from list. 
Any idea?


A single User has blocked exchange from displaying his picture even though Image data is correctly Setup in AD

Hi Everyone,

We have deployed AD Images, which is working great for all of our users apart from one, I believe something has been changed on his user account to stop OWA / Outlook displaying his image.

I have checked the image data in AD using a thrdparty tool and the get-user photo commands to export the data and verify it is the proper Image stored there.  I have removed and uploaded the Image itself, both with set-userphoto and a third party Tool. blocked the users ability to write to the thumbnail attribute and checked the image data is correct.

I have tested a new user and can successfully add an Image so this is not global, limited to this one users account.  I have run the GAL Update from every domain controller and waited past the Maintenance window overnight.

It is almost like the exchange system is not reading the Image as it displays the standard no image Avatar.  I could force the user to have a new account, but he is likely to change his settings again.  The user is a programmer so I am trying to find what might have been set to block this one account from displaying an Image.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.


Exchange OWA/Activesync conflicting with RD Gateway role

I've been bouncing my head over the following issue the last couple of days

I currently have the following set up:

I have a windows server 2012 with microsoft exchange 2013 CAS Role, RD Gateway, RD Web roles.

When I assign my domain certificate to the RD Gateway role it adds a new binding to the "Exchange Back End" website port *:443. This conflicts with the "Defauly Web Site" and stops the "Exchange Back End" website.

If I keep the 443 binding on the "Exchange Back End  website, OWA/Active sync dont work, but the RD Gateway is reachable externally.

When I remove the 443 binding from the "Exchange Back End" website, OWA/Active sync works again but the gateway isnt reachable externally.

Does anybody know a solution to this problem, so that both my Exchange servers is reachable and my RD Gateway functions properly?

Problem in Outlook 2010 2013 professional but not in Owa, send as working only for a short time

Hello, I have the following problem.

My colleague has configured on my outlook 2010 professional my exchange mailbox.

The address is yadayada@contoso.com

I have also another mailbox with full control and send as permissions configured.

The address is yadayada@scontrosso.eu

The first account is configured also on a laptop with outlook 2013 professional and automatically shows the second one and allow me to use the field from and use the second email as sender.

If I want to send a mail with the second address I can change the from field and use the second mail.

In outlook 2013 2010 sometimes this mechanism stops working.

The only fix I have is to delete the profile and let outlook reconfigure himself, or reinstall office entirely.

But this fix is only temporary, every once in a while, sending as the second address begin to stop working again and I receive mails that tell me I'm not authorized to send as the second account.

The problem is that even if in outlook 2010 pro 2013 pro this keeps happening, if i use the Outlook Web App (OWA) of the server, I can use the other mailbox and send as yadayada@scontrosso.eu even if I logged with yadayada@contoso.com

So everything points to a problem of the OUTLOOK installed on my pc, or so the collegue say.

Can someone help me fix that?

Non-Mailbox user object appearing as contact in Distribution list

I am in the process of collapsing domains.  In an attempt to get as much work done prior to the move I am creating the duplicated user in the destination domain.  This user is a member of all the same groups, but has no mailbox, no email address assigned, no Skype account, nowhere to be found in Exchange 2013.  Its just a User object.  However, it is appearing as a contact in the distribution groups within Outlook.  How can I get this object to not appear?
