Is it possible to use OWA apps with shared mailboxes?

$

Hello, I work for a company that has an OWA app which is installed on Exchange client access servers. This app is part of an Exchange Archiving solution and allows access to archived messages from OWA which are stored in the archive system.

The app works perfectly for a logged in user, but the app does not show up and doesn't seem to be available if the user goes to a mailbox which is shared with them in OWA.

This may be an issue with the development of the OWA app, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with using 3rd party installed apps with shared mailboxes and if this is possible.

Thank you in advance for your responses

Our office purchased several copies of Office a few years ago, a version which did not include Outlook. recently we purchased Office 365's "Exchange Online Plan 1" and I heard that this allows us to download Outlook for the accounts that have Office 365. Is this correct?

Thank you

Exchange 2013 Proxy from Exchange 2010

Hi All,

Do you know if Exchange 2010 SP3 can proxy to Exchange 2013 SP1? (and not the other way around of 2013 to 2010)

We have our MailServerA in one subnet and a new MailServerB in another subnet site (all in same domain).

MailServerA is exchange 2010 and MailServerB is Exchange 2013.

I am trying to relieve pressure from MailServerA for some time until I can get another new server to replace MailServerA.

I want to know if I can proxy from 2010 to 2013 and not the other way around.  I can make MailServerB an internet facing server but I don't really want to use redirection if possible.

I need to get webmail, activesync working perfect!  I have the externalurl's set to $NULL (nothing there at all, unless i actually have to put the phrase $NULL as the externalurl)

Autodiscover and email flow is working fine with my test mailbox on MailServerB.

Any help would be appreciated

Is it OK to send an email to 1,400 users, via Mail Universay Distribution Group ?

I have  a Mail Universal Distribution Group that has 1,400 members.  Is it OK to send an email to that many users ?  They're all internal to this Exchange system ... and no contacts are in the group either.

Outlook Webmail - Contacts missing after moving to Office 365

I have a problem where a user has recently bought a new laptop and installed Office 365, but on his old XP PC he was using Outlook 365 via webmail, and now his Contacts list is empty on both Outlook 365 and Outlook webmail. He is using a remotely hosted Exchange email account.

His Autocomplete list is still there on webmail but it has not synced to Outlook. The Global Address Book only has a dozen entries, which I think are all email addresses of people he has replied to since he got his new laptop. AFAIK this means when he sends an email via webmail it creates a new autocomplete entry but doesn't add it as a Contact.

Then again it's also possible he managed to sync his fresh install of Outlook to the cloud, so all the contacts he had in webmail got cleared out, and Autocomplete was unaffected because it's not part of the settings that synchronise.

Is there any way to undo this, or to convert Outlook webmail's autocomplete addresses into Contacts which can then be synced? Or is he going to need to manually add them all as contacts?

Cheers!

Outlook 2013 - Inbox not showing count of unread emails

Ever since moving to Outlook 2013, some of our users are experiencing issues where their inbox does not show the count of unread emails. These user's are working in cached exchange mode. Taking them out of cached exchange mode, deleting OST file and then putting back in cached exchange mode usually resolves the issue. However, this is only temporary and the problem comes back. We are running Exchange 2010.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue for good?

Thanks.

Exchange Server Hosting

We are using Action Pack Subscription, through this subscription we can access various software's

our question is related to Microsoft Exchange Server.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 is downloadable from our Subscription

1. How much CAL we will get with this download.

2. can we use it by installing and hosting my server online. (i.e. www.example.com/owa)

3. is CAL necessary if we access the Exchange through URL only instead of outlook.

Undeliverable response received when accepting meeting requests

Hey guys,

I've got a few users in our organization who have begun receiving bounce backs when responding to meeting requests. We have an Exchange 2013 and Office 2010. The bounce back the user receives shows the attempted delivery to be back to their own email address, and if the user selects "Edit the response before sending" it will send fine without any bounce backs. THe bounce back received is as follows:-

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***
The email system had a problem processing this message. It won't try to deliver this message again.

When I open Outlook 2013 (Windows 10) using my Verizon 'Hot Spot WIFI' Outlook never connects to the MS Exchange. It only goes back and forth from 'trying to connect' to 'Disconnected'.

However, when I use my employer's WIFI I can connect to the MS Exchange.

It is only when I access through the Verizon Hot Spot I can not connect to the MS Exchange.

Outlook 2016 - click here to view more on MS Exchange

We have Outlook in our RDS environment configured to sync mail for just one month, otherwise the ost file will be too big. We use the caching functionality since we migrated to Exchange Online, which is noticeable slower in online modus.

When you have configured cached modus for one month, is there a possibility that e-mails are automatically shown in Outlook? When you are using Online modes with outlook, you don't have to click the 'click here to view more on Microsoft Exchanger' neither.

Autodiscover fails after mailbox move

Hello,

Environment: existing exchange 2010 org, with new Exchange 2013 introduced. Clients are Outlook 2013. Clients can connect to all mailbox on the 2010 Server, also can connect to new mailboxes on the 2013 Server. But if I move an existing mailbox from the 2010 Server to the 2013 server Outlook cannot connect anymore, because autodiscover fails. Both servers use the same autodiscover settings, SCP contains the same URL.

TIA

Update: I've just installed an Outlook 2010 for testing purposes and it is working! From this point it may be rather a client side problem than a server side...

Firewall Ports in Exchange 2013/Outlook 2010 Connection

Hello, trying to connect to Exchange Server 2013 CU11 via public IP, I have opened 443 to forward to Exchange Server and CAN browse to the OWA page and login.  I cannot get Outlook 2010 to connect (or even open the app) once I configure Exchange -- we have been using POP up until now which still works fine (on the same Exchange 2013 server).  In summary, I can use POP just fine and browse to OWA however configuring Exchange/Activesync in Outlook 2010 doesn't work even with 443 forwarded.  Also, I can telnet to port 443 on mail.mydomain.com.  I tried with DNS name and IP, neither will let me load Outlook after I configure.  There isn't much else to the configuration, this worked fine before it was behind the firewall ie when I configured on a LAN so it must be a port issue however the technet article says I need 443 and not others such as 135, 80, etc.

Outlook Web App Sporadically Hangs

Hi - I have a small office set up on Exchange 2013 @ Windows Server 2012 Strd. All is working well, both internally and externally except for one mysterious issue: every 24-48 hours, the Outlook Web App page hangs when opened before getting to the sign in page. I notice that if I recycle the MSExchangeOWAAppPool, the page opens successfully. But obviously I should not have to do this every time Web App does not open.

Some background on this issue:

a) small user base: 25

b) 128 GB RAM on the server, plenty of CPU: no resource issues are occurring

c) this is BEFORE the user logs in

d) this happens internally AND externally

e) when it does open, Web App works well

f) version = 15 (847.32)

g) refreshing the page while it is spinning or hanging does not resolve the issue

h) IIS 'recycling conditions' for this pool are all unchecked, except for 1740 Regular Time intervals, which was the default setting

Any ideas?

hi,

we are having couple of users both on MAC os and using outlook 2011 and 2016 and both has the same issue.

when they send an email ( and its randomly no specific users) they can see the message in sent items folder but it shows as draft and never get delivered until they have to resend it again. issue not happening from OWA, but while the message stuck in the sent items folder as draft , its also shows as draft in OWA, checked autodiscover configuration all correct , did the connectivity analyzer it was successful.

any ideas on what is the reason.

"Last Modified by" information in Outlook calendar items

$

Hello,

What triggers the information for "last modified by" to be changed?

Brief background:

Outlook 2013 (cached mode)

Exchange 2013

2 delegates for 1 calendar.

Delegate A's name is being shown when Delegate B is the one who added/changed the calendar item. At least when the item is looked at by Delegate A.

So what actually triggers that change? Strictly a change of calendar info (date/time/attendees/etc)? Just viewing the item?

Why does the "last modified by" info show the wrong person?

Does forwarded meeting invite gets sent to all the Attendees and Organizer?

$

I forwarded a meeting invite from OWA to person not on the original attendee list.
When I hit "Forward" the "To" field was empty and I put in the sender's email (Let's say ABC) and hit "Send"

When I went back to my Sent Items, my forwarded meeting invite had subject line :
"Incognito on behalf of the Organizer"
and the "To" field had ABC ALONG with ALL the other attendees names.

Does this mean that my forwarded invite (which also contained a message intended ONLY for ABC) got sent to all attendees as well as as the organizer???

"Reply To" address changed unknowingly

PC OS Windows 10 Pro, Outlook 2016, Exchange 2010 Standard.

User created an email sent to 3 domain users. It sent fine but the reply to address was changed to something other than the sender. The sender says they did not change it and doesn't even know how to. When I go to the change reply field, the address it was changed to was at the top of the address book (it was a mail object not in the domain). Obviously the sender is very concerned people will get replies to emails they should have no business seeing.

I scanned for malware and nothing was found. This issue hasn't cropped up since Saturday and it is not reproducible. Any insight on this? I cannot find anything on the interwebs regarding similar issues.
