Outlook (all version) keeps asking for a username and password (for all users) after Lunar New Year

Dear Friends,

In Vietnam, We have 9 days off for Lunar New Year.

After all people comeback to work, and outlook repeatedly asks for a password (for all users & any Outlook version)

I have switched outlook to Online mode but it's does not worked.

This problem is urgent and hope your help soon,

I can't create an email account in Outlook 2013 for my exchange server

Have tried many things on this issue.

 

I have a new tablet PC running Windows 8. I am able to connect to my Exchange Server account using Windows 8 Mail, no problem but when I have tried to set up an account for Outlook 2013 to connect to the same Exchange Server using exactly the same login information I cannot get it to connect. I simply get the message that the Exchange Server is unavailable.

 

I've been able to connect a variety of other devices to the same Exchange Server account without any problem - iPhones, Windows Phone, iPads, etc, etc all without problem. It's just this device and Outlook 2013 seems to be the issue. From checking various forums seems this is not an isolated issue but I've not been able to find a useful solution so far. Have deleted the user profiles and .ost files, switched off caching etc, all to no avail.

 

One key difference between the account information required by Windows Mail and Outlook is that in the Windows Mail system I am prompted to enter my domain information. I know this is critical from the information provided to me by our network administration team but there is nowhere in the Outlook account setup process where I can enter my domain info.

 

Closest I've been able to get to success is to use the manual account creation process and select the Exchange ActiveSync option - this gets me to the point where I'm prompted for my username and password info but it fails at this step because I am connected to a local domain (the domain account for the PC) and my user name and password are not accepted. There is nowhere in this login process that I can find where I can enter the correct domain info.

 

Any ideas on a solution would be very much appreciated - I use Outlook extensively in my work and whilst the Windows 8 Mail system is good, it doesn't have the level of functionality I need.

Set a custom task view for all users

I have set up a custom task form and view that will need to be viewed by many remote users.  It also needs to be "editable" by our local users.  We are set up under Microsoft Exchange and using Office 2013.  The task folder is set up on a "public" drive and I have been allowed administrative rights to my folder but it is housed on a corporate server of which I do not have administrative rights.  I am trying to figure out how to "share" my task custom view and custom form with my many users.  I have had no success with trying to "share" the folder via email since the custom view does not copy over to the users computer.  Any suggestions?

Emails stay in Outbox after they are sent or are sent but don't show in sent Items folder

I was asked to look into an issue with a users mailbox where emails stay in the Outbox after they are sent or are sent but don't show in sent Items folder. All email seems to be sending and receiving properly. We have Exchange 2013 with Outlook 2013 in online mode. Since we use Exchange in online mode I don't have the option to rebuild ost file. The users mailbox is 8GB with a limit set at 10GB. The user usually accesses Outlook through their VDI session in which we have reset her profile. We have also reset Outlook settings as well. The same issue can be seen from OWA and accessing Outlook locally on her laptop. When the user sends emails from her IPhone they seem to work fine(don't stay in Outbox and they will show in sent items). Could this be corruption in the users Exchange mailbox? I have checked the settings under options, mail, save and made sure that emails sent are saved to the sent items folder. Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions on correcting the issue?

Some additional information, We have 3 DAG members with multiple databases. No other users are experiencing this issue.

Outlook 2013 User getting popup about restarting Outlook (After Exch2013 CU update to CU11)

I have a single user out of 30 users that having a issue where everytime she opens Outlook, she getting a popup saying that " "The Exchange Administrator has made a change that requires you quit and restart Outlook"

Outlook is 2013 32 Bit

Exchange is 2013 CU1 which was upgraded to CU11.

I have tried:
1 - Creating a new outlook profile. Same issue

2 - Running Office updates - found none.

3 - disable ballon popups thru the registry for outlook - didn't work

4 - Run repair on account in account settings in outlook

So far the only workaround I have is to disable caching mode which seem to suppress the popup but I need to a better solution as I need to have caching mode enable for this user.

Any ideas?

500 internal server error - OWA when trying to open options - Exchange 2010

Hello,

I have been in the process of setting up our new exchange 2010 server and have found the following issue.  I can log into the secure OWA site without issue and can send and receive emails fine.  When i attempt to select any "option" such as set automatic replies or see all options  I receive the following error message -

"500 internal server error there is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and cannot be displayed".

I have verified that all required exchange servicesare running.

I am running exchange 2010 sp3 on server 2012.

I think it may an issue within IIS but i'm not sure

Any help would be appreciated.

Outlook Webmail - Contacts missing after moving to Office 365

I have a problem where a user has recently bought a new laptop and installed Office 365, but on his old XP PC he was using Outlook 365 via webmail, and now his Contacts list is empty on both Outlook 365 and Outlook webmail. He is using a remotely hosted Exchange email account.

His Autocomplete list is still there on webmail but it has not synced to Outlook. The Global Address Book only has a dozen entries, which I think are all email addresses of people he has replied to since he got his new laptop. AFAIK this means when he sends an email via webmail it creates a new autocomplete entry but doesn't add it as a Contact.

Then again it's also possible he managed to sync his fresh install of Outlook to the cloud, so all the contacts he had in webmail got cleared out, and Autocomplete was unaffected because it's not part of the settings that synchronise.

Is there any way to undo this, or to convert Outlook webmail's autocomplete addresses into Contacts which can then be synced? Or is he going to need to manually add them all as contacts?

Unable to add email account to Outlook 2013 desktop application

Hi all,

I've started in an admin position and there's been an issue I've seen on two laptops now.

The Outlook on each of these laptops won't allow me to add email addresses under profiles. The email addresses are exchange active-sync accounts and should just pull all the information once I give the email and password.

Instead I keep getting a "Unable to establish a secure encryption channel" whenever I fail, and it asks me to try again.

The laptop is Win 7 64 bit but I'm running 32 bit Office as I tried uninstalling the 32 bit office suite and installing the 64 bit office but it keeps picking up a 32 bit installation so I'm forced to use the 32 bit version.

I can login with the same user into the on-line portal and I cannot add any user from our domain to the laptop as an account.

I've tried making sure the Firewall was turned off, the laptop picks up IP and DNS settings automatically, I've installed and ran the MS Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant but it cannot figure any issues with the setup. 

The user wasn't originally an admin when the suite was installed but I've upgraded her status and tried running it in admin mode and still no change.

I have verified the Office 365 activation code by opening word and signing in with the email address there, and have logged into the online portal, disabled the activation keys I've activated for the laptop through her account and reinstalled them.

Any and all help would be appreciated or if I've missed some vital info please let me know!

POP3 / IMAP4 not authenticating?

Hi All,

I've configured POP3 and IMAP4 on an Exchange server 2013 and it seems set to go but I just cannot authenticate with a valid UPN and valid password for the UPN.

Any Ideas what the heck I am missing???

OAB not Downloading in Outlook Clients

Hi Team

We are facing as error while downloading Address Book in Outlook clients .

Below is the Error we are getting when we manually try to download the Address Book in outlook

Task "mailid@domain.com" reported error(0x80190193) : 'The operation failed.'

1. Checked the connection status, connection is Directory is showing Established.

2. Performed Test E-mail Auto Configuration, We are able to find the OAB url in the Results.

Need your Suggestion to Resolve the Issue.  

Missing Calendar Search Option in Exchange 2013 OWA

There does not appear to be a calendar search option in on premise Exchange 2013 OWA.  This option DOES exist in Office 365 OWA, however.  Can anyone confirm that this feature is missing by design in Exchange 2013 and not some sort of misconfiguration?

Password won't save for secondary shared Exchange mailbox

Using Outlook 2016, one of our teams shares a secondary shared Exchange mailbox we'll call B.

The mailbox is on the same server as their personal mailbox.

User #1 does not need to sign in to B each time she logs in; it updates automatically.

The rest of the team users (4 other people) need to enter a password for B every time they open Outlook.

Even though they check the box saying Remember Password, it doesn’t.

All of them are using Windows 8.1 and the laptops were all set up the same way.

I have tried deleting the Windows credentials, but that doesn't fix the problem.

They all have the same access to the mailbox on the Exchange server.

Exchange 2013 and 2010 OWA proxy, graphic error?

Hi

I am in the middle of a migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. 

A HWLB has been deployed and due to second factor authentication we need to set the Exchange 2013 OWA to Basic Authentication instead of the default Form Based.

THIS breaks the 2013 -> 2010 proxy. Look at the screenshot. It looks strange? 

Any ideas? If I change 2013 OWA back to FB authentication everything seems fine.

Setting up e-mail accounts with Outlook issue

Since a few weeks (possibly a month or two -- waiting for a potential update to fix the issue), I've had a problem with logging in to Outlook 2016. The message I get is the typical "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service." which follows up with "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. This set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened". To add to this, I have a @hotmail.com account that I've been using since 2007 without issue. Prior to using Office 2016 I've used 2013 without issue (on this same account). Outlook.com still works with my @hotmail account.

I have tried a few things to resolve this, including making a new profile with the same @hotmail.com account, another with an @gmail.com account, and another with a local domain name (country-wise). All of these have failed to work. I have re-installed Office twice, gone into Outlook's Safe mode and unchecked the Add-ins, but so far, the issue still remains.

If someone can help me resolve this issue you will have my eternal gratitude (I love the outlook software and miss using it).

Incoming mail is now center justified instead of left justified.

I have no idea why this happened but suddenly all of my incoming emails are center justified where they used to be left justified.  I can't find any option to change this to what it used to be.  Any help would be appreciated.

exchange 2013 and outlook 2016, IIS log error 500

Hi,

some of our users are using outlook 2016 to connect to our exchange 2013 server.  After that, I find error 500 is generated in IIS log. But users can use outlook 2016 without any problem. such as, sending and receiving mail. is there any configuration i need to setup in order to work with outlook 2016?

Exchange 2013 SP1: Whenever I open my own mailbox in OWA (2013), I can see the 'Apps Bar' at the top of the email (such as Bing maps, Action Items etc) - but when I (or anyone else in the org) goes to 'Open another mailbox' that they have full access permissions to, this App bar disappears as soon as the other mailbox loads. This causes an issue for us as one of the apps is Symantec Enterprise Vault. The same thing appears to happen in the full Outlook 2013 client as well.

Is there any way to make the App Bar appear when opening another mailbox?

Me and my wife would like to share calenders. We have the same office calender but we are not on the same exchange server, so how do we share our calendars?
