Manually configure Outlook 2016

I have moved from Office 2013 to Office 2016. My email host insists on manual configuration of Outlook. How do I do this in 2016?

Exchange 2013 localhost/ecp being very slow

So I've installed Windows Server 2012 R2 full updates

Added on this server Hyper V and installed an instance of Windows Server 2012 R2 full updates.  Then Exchange 2013 after installing the Unified Communications Managed API 4.0 Runtime.

I got an backup Domain controller on the other Hyper V instance but nothing else has been installed

So when I go to the webpage, it's just terribly slow, 30-120 seconds every time you click on a (/*/()"*_$ link.... stuck on please wait all the time

I hate webbase apps....actually hate isn't a word big enough....

How do I accelerate this process... i'm even stuck in French because the first time I've log in, it time out and decided to put the default language, so the second time I've log in, I didn't get the menu to select English... and since the setup isn't completed, I cannot log in to OWA emails to change the language....

Thank you

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Creating user's mailbox with 2 domains issues

$

So i've created domain aaaaa.com

Then I've created domain bbbbb.com

But I've left domain aaaaa.com as the default domain in the Accepted Domain

So when i'm creating a new user's database this is a big mess

First if I try to type in the name myname@aaaaa.com and select the user in the Active Directory, it gives me an error that I cannot use an @

So I type in myname in the alias box then and select create

It doesn't ask me my domain name for that particular user and put bbbbb.com

So i'm force to delete the mailbox I've just created....trying to figure a way to get my primary domain name and at least select my domain anyway because some user will need both...

So now the mailbox user's I've just deleted aren't no longer in the Active Directory list....really ...what kind of retarded made this software....i'm not actually deleting the mailbox, i'm deleting the entire user's from active directory from the exchange web console...

Anyone could tell me

1) How to make exchange mailbox creation to let me select witch domain to use

2) How to make sure exchange web app no longer do anything to my Active Directory...

MAPI over HTTP - Outlook prompting for credentials

$

Hello everyone

We have 2 Exchange 2013 servers with CU10 installed. Each of them hosts CAS and MBX role.

Most of our clients are using Outlook 2013 with SP1 and all available updates. Clients are connecting by using Outlook Anywhere (RPC over https) and are working fine. Domain joined clients can start Outlook inside our network or outside and NEVER prompted for any credentials as we use NTLM authentication.

Now we have enabled MAPI over HTTP and the clients started to switch over. If we are starting Outlook inside our network, everything works fine. If I start Outlook on a domain joined client but from external network, Outlook starts to ask for credentials and is not able to connect without them.

Any idea on why Outlook asks for credentials when using MAPI over http? If I switch back to RPC over https, it stops asking for credentials.

Many thanks for any help.

Hi Support team,

We are in progress to migrate our email server(New domain).

During the parallel run we want to stop the current connection between users MS.Outlook with the Exchange Server 2007, so the selected users cannot using Microsoft Outlook to access to the Exchange server 2007 email (not allow to send and receive with MS.Outlook ) but  every new email received in user mailbox(Exchange) will be auto-forwarded to user new email address.

May I know is it possible to do that without to disable the email account ? Please advice.

Hi,

I'm running Exchange 2013 SP1, using KEMP as load balancers in front - SSL Offloading is enabled. After some of my users have started to use MAPI over HTTP, our IIS logs has started to grow rapidly.

I see alot of there lines in the log:

Unable to send after migration

I have successfully migrated over 100 mailboxes from Ex2007 to Ex2013 with no issues.  I have one mailbox giving me a tonne of grief.  After the migration from 2007 to 2013 the wizard did report the migration completed successfully.  However, when the user opens the inbox using her Outlook 2007 client she is able to compose and send emails.  Any recipients of her emails are not able to reply to them.  Same goes with any emails this user receives, she is not able to reply to them.

Unable to connect to Exchage 2013 from Outlook 2016 for mac

Hi,

I am unable to connect to our Exchange 2013 server from Outlook 2016 for Mac. Mail.app for Yosemite works, I am also able to connect to a different Exchange 2013 server from Outlook 2016. If I test autodiscover and EWS using https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com, everything is normal.

Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

ECP and OWA Unable to access after CU10 Upgrade

Hi All,

I search for answers on the web but unluckily, the issue still not resolve,

- I have a working environment in our lab, it has an existing Active Directory with Windows 2008 R2 domain/forest functional level,

I successfully deployed the Mailbox/CAS using Exchange 2013 SP1 with out any CU, we need to perform an upgrade to CU10 due to compliance although this is a lab environment, it will use for all users in our organization for some reasons.

So during the CU10 Upgrade, I experience a lot of errors and cannot resolve it, but after starting from the scratch again, remove the Exchange data/components in active directory and create a new vm,I use the Installer of CU10 to deploy exchange 2013 now, and some errors occur during the installation however, I manage to resolve it.

Now the exchange version is CU10 upgraded, I can access Exchange powershell and toolbox, though I can access the ECP ONLY using "https://localhost/ecp" and can configure settings here, but using "https://hostname.domain.lab/ecp" it redirects to owa authentication(I don'tconfugre http redirection in IIS), same in OWA.

The landing page for authentication can bring up but after logging in it say's:

Message: something went wrong, Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

URL:https://hostname.domain.lab/owa/auth/errorFE.aspx?httpCode=500

-Verified FAB is working, MS Exchange Services are all running

Note: during Exchange 2013 SP1 no CU installed, all are working well without any errors. after upgrading it to CU10 which AD schema also upgraded, I cannot revert it to "Exchange 2013 SP1 no CU installed" that has fully operational.

Please help someone there, this is a real pain.

outlook 2013 rules do not run automatically

$

Hi,

I initially raised this in the outlook forum but was told to repost this here.

I have upgraded to Outlook 2013 and now not all my rules run automatically.  I was using 2010, 2007 and 2003 before this and they all used to work.  I am now running outlook 2013 on windows 8 off an exchange server.

I have two types of rules - based on subject and based on the sender's address.  Both have 'stop processing more rules' applied to them.  E.g. subject is 'Acme', move to folder Acme and stop processing more rules, sender's address contains 'Acme', move to folder Acme and stop processing more rules.

Initially, I had grouped both subject and sender's address together - Acme and Acme, Beta and Beta.  With this, all my rules did not work.  To troubleshoot, I then grouped the subject rules and then by sender's address together.  Now, it looks like the subject rules work but the by sender's address rules still does not work.

I removed all the subject rules leaving only by sender's address rules and they still don't work.

BUT when I run all the rules manually, both By Subject AND by Sender's Address work correctly.

Any hints to fix this?

Hello,

We are using Exchange Online and we have shared mailbox "office@company.com".
Every employee can add this mailbox to his Outlook and read email.
Shared "office" mailbox have subfolders:

- help
- sales

Now, user with administrator privilages have to move emails to subfolders.
How to make rule so every email send to help@company.com go to help subfolder and sales@company.com to sales subfolder?

I know it can be done as we already have it implemented with other folders, but it was made by employee which is no longer working with us and I can't find this settings in Administration panel.

Kind Regards,

Logon for MAC 2016/2011 changed from domain\username to username@domain.com?

Hi,

This recently change where our MAC users have to enter username@domain.com. This change happened a couple of weeks ago. Any why? We are on Exchange 2013 and 2007 coexistence. The only recent change was an upgrade of CU5 to CU 8 on Exchange 2013. Is there a way to revert back on MAC to domain\username?

Exchange 2013 CU6 CAS not working across AD sites

$

Hi folks,

I receive the following error when trying to access Outlook Web Access or Exchange Control Panel from a CAS server based at a different site:

Error executing child request for /owa/auth/errorFE.aspx.

Situation

We have 2 datacentres, London and Chicago. Each Datacentre has:

2 x 2013 CAS servers
2 x 2013 Mailbox servers

We are still using Exchange 2010 SP3 for all users and we are testing Exchange 2013 on the live internal domain (we do not have a test domain yet). I have transferred my corporate 2010 mailbox to Exchange 2013 mailbox server in London. However, if I access the London CAS server https://londonServerName.domain.com/owa, everything works fine. If I access the Chicago CAS serverhttps://chicagoServerName.domain.local/owa, I receive the above error.

We never had any such issues in Exchange 2010 so I wondered if this was a known Exchange 2013 issue. The AD sites have been set-up properly. It seems we cannot access mailboxes if using a CAS server at a different site. Why doesn't this CAS proxy / forward to the correct mailbox server if at a different server?

The idea is eventually to include hardware load balancers at each datacentre and point DNS at the VIP for each datacentre but this is not in place yet. As this is in test at this stage before we migrate fully, I have pointed my localhost file to one of the London CAS servers and then I can access my emails. If I point the localhost file to the Chicago CAS server, I cannot access emails through Outlook or OWA.

Thank you for looking

Danny

Exchange 2016 + Office Online Server

Hi,

I have successfully deployed Office Online Server internally using the internal OWA FDQN.

However using it externally does not work just reaching a popup saying "Sorry, there was a problem".

External access is controlled by ARR and I'm using the same setup as with Office Web Apps Server deployed for Exchange 2013.

  • OOS is configured with an externalURL pointing to ARR FQDN.
  • OSS is configured with SSLOffloading and allowing HTTP
  • ARR Farm is routed to OOS using HTTP

ARR is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and OOS is Running on Windows Server 2012 R2. WOPI loads (as OOS is generating the POPUP)

MAPI over HTTP not working correctly, Outlook 2013 clients prompting for credentials during profile creation or opening depending on security of virtual directory

$

ENVIRONMENT

-1 Exchange 2013 SP1 CU7 server with all roles that is also a hybrid server with Office 365 tenant, mailboxes are all on premise only LYNC online is being utilized right now.

-Exchange 2013 public folders

-Mix of Outlook 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2010 SP3 clients all fully update to day as of Feb 2015

Outlook anywhere is working perfectly across all clients both internally and externally using autodiscover.  Both Outlook 2013 and 2010 clients can open the program and create a profile automatically via autodiscover and no additional logon prompts are seen.

We set the internal and external mapi virtual directory URLs to a valid URL that also matches the Exchange 2013 SSL certificate.  We set the security to ntlm, negotiate on the mapi virtual directory.  We reset IIS and enabled mapi over http in the org config.  We run in to problems here.

Outlook 2010 clients appear to be working fine.  We can create a new profile and open and close Outlook without any logon prompts and verify that MAPIHTTP and Negotiate are used to connect to Exchange.

Outlook 2013 clients are having problems.  As soon as we try to create a profile it says your administrator has made a change that requires you to restart outlook and then a windows logon prompt appears. If we authenticate Outlook will open and connect.  This logon prompt should not occur.    We can confirm that it is connecting via MAPI HTTP and Negotiate.

If we set the mapi virtual directory to NTLM only then a logon prompt also appears during every open of Outlook 2013.  We can confirm that it is trying to connect with MAPIHTTP via NTLM in the outlook connection test screen.

I do not understand this behavior by Outlook 2013 which was supposed to be designed with MAPI HTTP in mind.  I would think the same issues would occur with Outlook 2010 but they do not.  I am not sure how to resolve this and I am looking for help.
