Outlook 2016 issues with Reoccurring Meetings and attachments

So I had posted a question over in the Office community for an Outlook issue with 2016 that I was trying to get validation on and was told that I would be better off asking here.  Here is what I posted and need to see if anyone else is seeing this or is this a new design of Outlook 2016.

So we are beginning to test out Office 2016 for deployment throughout my company.  I was trying to duplicate an issue for a customer and I noticed that when I created a Reoccurring meeting that has an attachment, the attachment is removed and cannot be seen by anyone other then the organizer.  We are running Exchange 2013 for the company. 

  1. Single Meeting with Attachment - WORKS
  2. Reoccurring Meeting with Attachment - DOES NOT WORK
  3. Adding attachment to Reoccurring meeting for the entire occurrance - DOES NOT WORK
  4. Adding attachment to a single occurrence - WORKS
  5. Earlier version of Outlook - WORKS

I have checked through the forums and found nothing in regards to this.  Has anyone else seen this issue?

Cannot reply to sender with S/MIME Certificate in OWA

Hello,

So here is the issue, we have S/MIME Certificates setup for certain users.  Currently if they send an encrypted message to a user they can reply on their phones, or in outlook, however in OWA they get the error:

"An error occurred while signing this S/MIME message. No certificate was found. If you have a smart card-based certificate, insert the card and try again."

The problem is the user doesn't have a certificate to sign with.  We do not want to encrypt the reply sent to the sender from the user just the message sent from the sender to the user.

I have scoured google and forums but haven't found a solution so far, thoughts?

Users cannot change their password in OWA/ECP 2013

Hi i have the following problem.

My users can't change their password in OWA because it keeps saying: password did not a meet a the required complexity

If i enable change password on next logon the user is able to change the password (it work's sometimes this solution).

I disabled all password policy's
Password must meet complexity requirements Disabled
Max/Min password to 0 days
Minimum password length 0

Localy on the exchange server i checked the policy's and it is the same.

Anyone have a solution?

Default reminder still set when meeting has NONE set to reminder time

When reciever of meeting request has switched off the default reminder it will get the reminder time set by the sender. When it's set to 1 hours it is set to 1 hour. When set to 30 minutes it is set to 30 minutes.
When sender sets it to NONE. It will be set to the number that is shown in greyed out.
So when reciever sets default reminder to 1 hour and then disables it. Meetings with reminder set to none will be set to 1 hour.

Outlook for MAC - Issues when replying to mails on same Exchange 2013 server but different organisation

Hi everyone, 

I am having some annoying issues on one of our Outlook for MAC 2011 Clients connected to an exchangeserver 2013 housing several companies / organisations.

Client side : 
* iMac12,1
* Outlook for Mac 2011 Version 14.4.2 (140509)

Server Side :
* Server 2012 R2 
* Exchangeserver 2013 SP1

The Exchangeserver ist working in a multi-tenancy setup hosting several companies. None of the Windows / Outlook 2013 Clients or any other users with iphones etc have got these problems. 

It seems that only this user with Outlook for MAC is having them : 
The UserA resides in companyA.tld - when the user receives an E-Mail from UserB from companyB.tld (on the same Exchangeserver) there is an red ? next to the senders name in the inbox and UserA is unable to reply to them. 
When UserA clicks on the senders name to open the connected contact it opens on specific contact from UserA's personal contacts and not the contact actually associated with that e-mail address. And this personal contact always opens no matter what the actual sender's address was. 

He hasn't got any issues with mails received by the same organisation or from external e-mailservers, only from users in a different org on the same server.

Same Problem when he tries to reply to an appointment from UserB/CompanyB - replies from within the same organisation or external servers work OK. 

If he replies to an appointment he gets an error that the recipients mail cannot be found and displays an X500 style address

Remote Server returned '550 5.1.3 STOREDRV.Submit; invalid recipient address'


Another oddity here is that the same applies to this users iPhone and iPad Mail Client, but as mentioned before no other users using iPhone / iPad have got this issue.
The only difference is that he mainly uses Outlook for MAC which isn't used by ANY of the other users on that exchangeserver.

Any hints on how to solve this issue ?

I just want a feasible method that helps me carry out my Archive database which isresiding in All Document Folder into MS Outlook. Moreover, I have lots of mails that are in encrypted form due to confidential issue. It comprises very much essential data records related to my company accounts. Pleasehelp me guys, your suggestion & clues can save my life, really I am in a very critical situation.

Exchange 2013 Autodiscover and Outlook Login Issues

Hi

I have setup a new exchange 2013 cas server as a member in an existing domain.

Everything has installed fine, along with mailbox creation and UCC SSL certificate install (SMTP,IIS,IMAP,POP3).

My issue is with Outlook clients being prompted for logon details during the initial autodiscover/setup period (the server just refuses them even though I know they are correct).

OWA works fine and the site says its trusted.

I have setup the A record so that the outlookanywhere server name resolves internally.

Outlook client can access the autodiscover.xml in IE and it accepts the logon details

Any help please, thank you!

outlook anywhere is not working for Domain users

We have Exchange 2013, with TMG and UAG for publishing exchange services. outlook anywhere is not working for Domain users but workgroup users is working fine 

you have any idea for the reason?

Enable/Disable Web Access Pop3 and iMAP via AD Security Groups

Good Morning,

I am deploying O365 Services to a charity that I volunteer for and am looking to set up Exchange Server.

I have used MS AD Sync Connector to sync our local AD to Azure and have added O365 licences to each member. By default each person is set up with and email address and access via Web interface, POP3 and iMAP is enabled. 

My "spec" is as follows

- Normal members should not be able to send emails from the charity email address

- Trustees should be able to send emails from charity email address

- All Members should be listed in charity address book

- Normal Members should get emails forwarded to their personal email address

- No member's personal email address should be visible in address book

Each Member has a charity email address associated to their user account. I can create a hidden contact with each members personal email and create a forwarder to their respective contact.

I can then disable Web Access, POP3 and iMAP from their Exchange user account and this should meet the requirements above. My only issue is that this is quite a lot to set up for every new member.

So my question is 2 fold.

1. Is there an easier way to achieve the above? I have seen the alternate email address field in Exchange but I dont know whether this is visible in the address book or whether it can be populated from a field in local AD via the AD Sync Tool

2. Can Web Access, Pop3 and iMAP functionality be controlled via AD security groups?

Exchange 2013 sp1 affects OWA access on substandard port

Prior to SP1 i was able to run owa on port 9443. This is now an issue on sp1.

From testing what i have found is that when you access owa on a substandard port you are redirected to the auth/logon.aspx page on port 443 despite the fact that you accessed the site on a different port. After i login to the auth page i am correctly redirected back onto port 9443. The issue is that the environment i am in does not permit me to port forward 443 to the server therefore owa no longer works in this circumstance. I tried playing with urlrewrite but i believe there is a module in exchange that is fighting the rewrite. Is it possible to have this addressed? Assuming port 443 for the login page seems like a mistake since i am able to specify the port in the external url address for all services.

OWA on browser very slow on iPad

Set up:

Exchange server 2013 Standard Version 15.0 ‎(Build 913.22)‎ on Windows server 2012.

iPad Air, iOS 8.3

Trying to access mail through Safari browser. Works well for a few minutes, then the Safari mail tab becomes very slow, almost freezing. But can open another tab and browse other websites. A page refresh makes it work for a few minutes but again becomes very slow. If i leave it for sometime it will work again. I have tried installing OWA app, the same thing happens.

Please let me know if further information is needed. Please help.

Exchange 2013 & outlook 2013, exchange account mailbox mode unicode??

I have users with there email set up using autodiscover, but the mailbox mode is Unicode.  What is Unicode? Why cant I use mapi?

It wont let me change it either.

What have I done? how can I get MAPI back?

Outlook calander not updating on delegates outlook

Dear All,

We are facing an issue,where the manager has shared his outlook calendar with one of his assistant for managing meetings,but we have that assistant is not able to see any meetings on her outlook for the manager,the calendar is shared with her with full permission.

the exchange version is  2013 and outlook version is also 2013 for both the users

I faceing issue of Outlook Disconnected after diable SSL3 through external firewall on windows 8 only, windows 7 fine "outlook 2010 and 2013"

Error:

there is a problem with the proxy servers security certificate outlook is unable to connecy to the proxy server

please help me

The name cannot be resolved. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list. External Only, Autodiscover works, asks to restart outlook, then error occurs.

As the title says, I get this error everytime I connect an external client.  Auto discover works perfectly, finds my email address and sets itself up without issue. It says I need to restart outlook for changes to take effect.  Once restarted I get the error message, with another window to 'Check Name'.  No matter what I put in the 2 fields I cannot seem to get it to find the account again.

OWA/ECP works using external FQDN.  SSL Certificates installed. http://testconnectivity.microsoft.com shows all clear. Outlook connectivity tester shows no errors.  I have tried changing OutlookAnywhere ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod to Basic, but that made no change.  

I am using Server 2012/Exchange 2013/Outlook 2010.

Pulling my hair out now!

Any help at all would be a godsend.

EDIT:  Internally works perfectly fine, auto discovers and connects right away without issue.

SYNC Two Mailbox Calander items Automatically

Hi,

I have a list of users having individual mailboxes and another room mailbox. Example User A have his own mailbox calander and Telepresence Room Mailbox Calander. Issue is users does not want to manage two calanders and also they want to maintain FREE/BUSY info same. How do i setup auto sync of both calanders, so that free/busy of person is maintained same in both calander.

Duplicated Outlook folder

One Folder in Outlook was duplicated like below.

1~5 folder is user created, I used MFC mapi to delete(permanent) for 1 to 4, but after a while

the folders show up again...

Is there any way to delete them permanently...

Delete Exchange 2013 OWA Search History

Hello,

I'm trying to delete a specific user's search history in OWA but I do not see any option for this in the settings. I've searched this issue previously and the only proposed resolution is to delete browser cache/form data.

This does NOT fix the issue as the history appears to be saved on the Exchange server. The original search query I tested was on an incognito browser and it still shows up on multiple different computers.

Please advise. Thank you.

Duplicate attachments in outlook 2010

Hi.

We have problem with duplicating mail attachments.

Scenario:

When I edit any Office 2010 documents (word, excel powerpoint), then click on File->Save&Send->Send as attachment. If I encrypt, or sign or encrypt and sign message, then outlook sends message with duplicated attachment of one file. Two attachments of one file in message are also in sent items in sender's mailbox, not only in recipient inbox.

This is only scenario when it happen. This is happening since we upgraded to exchange 2013.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Outlook does always auto detect a slow(far) site DAG server how to change it?

Hi.

We've got 2 Exchange 2013 Servers. (both CAS and Mailbox, and both mailbox server form a DAG)

As we got 2 owa address.

like this

https://office.domain.com/owa   (office)

https://backup.domain.com/owa  (slower data center site)

We don't have autodiscover record on internet domain. I do manually setup the outlook anywhere for people use notebooks. And use backup.domain.com/owa (for a more stable connection from oversea)

In office, PCs are in AD domain and outlook can autodiscover the  server address. (Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013)

The problem is outlook always detect the server using: backup.domain.com, which in outlook anywhere settings, the address shows https://backup.domain.com/owa and msstd://backup.domain.com.

This is I don't want to happen. If I manually change the settings to office.domain.com, it seems sometime it will switch backup to backup.doamin.com.

Can someone tell me how can I modify this settting to make office outlook auto discover the server use office.doamin.com?
