Purged Email Accounts

$

Hi there

We had a list of users that left the company, and disabled their email accounts within Exchange 2013.

Regarding the retention period of the default 30 days, can email accounts be recovered once it has reached the end of this retention period and ultimately purged?

From all disabled mailboxes, I can't find any in the "Connect a mailbox" window within EAC, or connect it with the PS command. Stating that it doesn't exist on the database.

OWA Sign Out doesn't work

I'm testing Exchange 2013 and running into the issue. On the OWA page, when I click on Sign out, OWA doesn't sign out.. It gives me "Sign Out" window with statement: "You must close all browser windows to sign out completely". Same behavior on local server, on remote server.. /OWA /ECP site.. Admin user, non admin user..

Forms authentication is disabled, basic and windows are enabled.

If I manually add /owa/logoff.owa it logs me off..

Any ideas?

Search results for Online Archive Limited to 250 results

We are running Office 365 Pro Plus with Exchange 2013 CU4 on premise (nothing in the cloud).  When searching the Online Archive (with instant search or Advanced Find) within Outlook the results are limited to 250 items.  This is frustrating to people because we have email going back to 2006 so they are expecting many more results.   I understand the need to balance performance, but why is there not a way to override this limit?  I have searched but have been unable find a way - please let me know if one exists.

Thank you, Jeff

Microsoft Exchange is unabailable

I just purchased a new desktop computer with Windows 10. When I loaded my Microsoft Office 2010 software everything works fine except Outlook. When I click on Outlook I get this message, "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." After that it give me the pop up box that shows "pop" in the MS Exchange server field, and my name in the "Mailbox:" field. Then it tells me it "Cannot open your default e-mail folders." then closes out of everything. I can use the Microsoft Mail e-mail client with no problems, but I would prefer to use Outlook. What can I do?

Meeting invites do not show up in Outlook or OWA

$

Our environment is Exchange 2013 CU9.

We have a user who cannot see meeting invites. Message tracking shows that they are being delivered to her mailbox and she can see the tentative calendar event in her calendar, but she doesn't see the meeting invite in her inbox. This also applies to meeting invites for another user for whom she is a delegate.

We have removed all of her rules and checked to see if she has ghost references to a delegate who's account has been deleted but there are no delegates. It is acting like she has a delegate that is tagged to receive invites on her behalf but there are no delegates.

Any ideas?

Single line view and columns too

We just upgraded to Exchange server 2013 CU9 from 2007 and am going through the growing pains to get used to the completely different UI. How can I change the Inbox (and other folders) so that each email is only one line instead of two? I see that this was a long expected "feature" and i think i saw somewhere that it was implemented in 2013 CU6? Also, it would be even greater if i can get columns (from, subject, size, date, etc). Is this feasible and if so how? Please let me know if you need further information to clarify my query.

Emails stripped of all body content or truncated mid sentence.

I have two users that when they send emails, the messages are stripped of all/most content. It does not happen every time but when it does, it is almost as though the messages are getting truncated and just end in the middle of a sentence, or don't contain any body at all.

Some tests I have performed.

  • Email was stripped of some content in Outlook desktop but not on my phone or in OWA or users Gmail account.Any outlook client on our network shows the stripped email.
    • The content stripped was a paragraph containing a link "to a DL"
      • It shows stripped in the users sent items from Outlook and OWA.
      • I have tested having them send from OWA and they get the same result when viewed by 2013 Outlook clients.
      • Disabled all add in's on the other users Outlook and launched in safe without cached mode and it still shows as stripped.
      • Tested same message again, this time with my outlook already set to safe with no add in's to see if I get the message and they don’t. This attempt didn't work because everyone received the full message even though it was composed the exact same way the previous one was.
      • I asked the user to compose another but this time take a pause for about five minutes during the middle of the composition of the email.  Testing if it had something to do with drafts.  Email was fine containing all content
      • User 1's and user 2’s mailbox are on different database servers.
      • User 2's sent over another that was stripped and was only sent to one DL with user 2 as the sender not their shared mailbox.  It was completely blank.

I feel like it has something to do with Outlook displaying the content but there is nothing special about the emails and it isn’t always repeatable with the same email being sent twice.  Also it is only happening to these two users, even when sent from OWA...?

Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks!

OWA 2013. No user photos in IE

Hi. Using the same account on different workstations with different IE versions I see that IE does not show user photos.

But Chrome does.

May be OWA 2013 does not support IE?

OWA/ECP signout does not logoff user or closes session

Help! We have an Exchange 2013 build which consist of the following and does not logoff the user or administrator from the ECP or OWA console when sign out is selected. When sign out is selected i am prompted with the "To finish signing out, close all open browser windows" message. However the session does not sign out! If i add "owa/logoff.owa" to the owa URL the sign out works as expected.

Build:

-4 exchange 2013 Multi-rolled Server(Version 15.0 (Build 1104.5))( fully updated as of Sept 2015)

-Windows 2012 R2( fully updated, Sept 2015)

-Exchange Auth: Basic and Integrated

Notes:

-I have recreated the virtual folders multiple times and messed with the security to no avail.

-I have access OWA and ECP on the local Exchange server to remove any DNS issues.

-The sign out/Logoff ONLY works to end the active session when FBA is being used on the Exchange server.

Has anyone experienced this problem or has ideas to resolve this?

Have i missed something?

Thanks

After configure Exchange I've add account on mobiles from Internet and it seems works fine. Corporate account on first android and on second Outlook app, calendars and mail was work.

But then I've tried to add account on desktop Outlook, turns up that autodiscover is failed, because Outlook propose me to manual setup mail server.

I've monitor traffic and find out that, after Outlook get autodiscover.xml it tried to connect on internal nameserver.local.com instead external global.com(if I change hosts file to external ip, works perfectly).

Outlook freezes when sending/forwarding new mails exchange online.

Hi all,

We are a reseller for exchange online and have reached an issue where our outlook clients will often freeze when they are trying to send or forward an email.

I know this is due to a poor internet connection + trying to connect to exchange online.

What I don't know is how to solve it. How do I stop outlook freezing and needing to be restarted every time they lose connection to the exchange. If they are writing an email when it freezes they lose the entire email.

Getting better internet is not a resolution neither is working offline then send/receiving in bulk. Cached mode has been enabled / disabled. MAPI/HTTP has been edited in the registry.
All patches have been run.

I've recreated profiles, resinstalled office even reinstalled windows once!

I have tried every single fix I can think of and am now stumped.

Hi all,

When ERP app sends an email using users outlook profile it arrives to the destination. But users sent folder does not show this unless cache mode tick is cleared.(but the mail is there in OWA/mobile phone).Mails sent just by Outlook does show on sent items without issues. We have this issue after 2007 to 2013 migration. If the user resides on Ex2007 then this issue does not arise.

Disabling cache mode is not a viable option since it introduces slowness into outlook.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks & regards,

Outlook 2013 Can't share contacts with a user

Hi,
I can generate the sharing invitation email. When opened on the recipient's side it says," This sharing message not valid.   All action buttons have been disabled."
 (Sender not verified) - People
 Microsoft Exchange Contacts

I have been able to share these contacts successfully with other users.
I have deleted and recreated the recipient's profile.

I have sent the invitation using the GAL address. The recipient is not in the contacts being shared.   Also, on the sender's side, even though I have set all permissions to publisher, it shows the message rights going out as reviewer. Don't know if that helps.
 Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

We have a weird situation, technical issue with our Exchange server 2010 STD edition. SP3 UR10

We upgraded from Exchange SP2 UR8 to Exchange 2010 SP3 UR9.
After the upgrade the Auto-Mapping function does not work anymore.
When we grand any access to a shared mailbox the mailbox still appears via Auto-Mapping within Outlook 2010 SP2 but cannot longer be accessed.
When  we ad the mailbox via Outlook, the shared mailbox can be accessed with no issues at all.
When we check via ADSIEdit, msExchDelegateListLink, users are added correctly.
When we check access rights via PowerShell, everything looks okay.
No matter what I check, everything is set in the correct way and it should work.
All users and all shared mailboxes are effected and can't access any shared mailbox via Auto-Mapping.

When I create a new mailbox database, I create 5 new test users and a few new test shared mailboxes, everything works well.
Auto=Mapping works with no issue at all.
When I move the old users and the old shared mailboxes to the new mailbox database they still can't access the shared mailbox. Strangely, the newly created users on the new mailbox database can access the new shared mailbox and also the old shared mailbox.
Removing access rights and add them again on the old mailbox databases does not resolve the issue either.
Something went wrong with the upgrade from SP2 to SP3, on user level.
We created a support call with Microsoft but after 3 weeks still no solution for this issue, they still have any clue what this is.

Our Outlook 2010 is on its latest patch possible, Exchange 2010 is on its latest patch possible, the OS of the Exchange Server, SRV 2008 Data Center R2, is running on its latest patch possible.

I now that this Auto-Mapping issue is mentioned with Exchange SP3 UR5, but I can't find any update or any fix for this issue with any UR after UR5.

Many thanks in advance.

Greetings.

Marco
