Anonymous Authentication Custom PRF File

$

Hi All,

I'll try to make this as simple as possible, I have customized a .prf file using the office customization tool, and made a .bat file that a user can click on, starts outlook and automatically imports the server settings.

My only issue is, with Exchange 2013, the "Logon network security" type needs to be Anonymous Authentication, and am not sure if it is even possible to set/change. I have opened the .prf file in notepad, but can't seem to find anything related.

Here is the .prf file for quick reference:

Hello,

We are currently experiencing a strange issue drive me crazy. As our clients cannot send out any email >8MB vai Outlook 2007/2010/2013 using POP3 connections...But we would like to have 10MB per messages.

And we found that the emails were sent properly =<10MB if the same user connect the exchange 2013 via outlook anywhere, we have verified the MaxSendSize and MaxReceiveSize under Transportconfig and confirmed user mailbox have "unlimited" send and receive size.

Please help me out ....

Below is the dump from our exchange:

Can not open Outlook via Mobile Broadband connection

Hello.

We're using Exchange mail accounts in our company and I can connect to my e-maiil account from anywhere (wi-fi, wireless) with Outlook 2013. However when I use my mobile 3G modem (connected to computer via usb) on my computer I just cant open Outlook anymore. It gives an error "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working" and it asks me to debug or close :). And of course I'm closing it.

So what's the problem here; why Outlook 2013 can't open while my computer uses Mobile connection (3G) ?

Hosted Exchange 2013 login when opening with Outlook 2013/365

The user outside of the domein Keep getting a prompt asking for a login when starting outlook 2013/365.

Inside the domein its worksfine (Remote Desktop Services)

Other domeins work fine aswell

Cannot open your default e-mail folders, mixed 2010 - 2013 environment when creating second profile

Hi

I have a mixed 2010 - 2013 environment and things are almost working as expected.

Right now I have 3 mailboxes in 2013, but if I try to create a new Outlook with one of those mailboxes I get the "cannot open your default e-mail folders".

If I log on to a pc with that user, Outlook finds the mailbox without any problems.

Why does it fail when I try to create a profile on another users login? It seems that it resolves to the old CAS array (RpcClientAccessServer). Even if I try to repair the Outlook profile it resolves the wrong (2010) CAS array.

Any ideas?

Hello All.

I am all of a sudden experiencing an issue with Outlook 2013 being unable to connect to Exchange Server 2013 via IMAP.

The laptop is running Windows 7 Home and as such is not a domain member hence the need for IMAP.

From the Outlook side when setting up the account, it only says "A secure connection to the server cannot be established." on the incoming mail server, but the outgoing checks out OK.

I checked and re-checked all the settings several times on the server. Blogs and forums mostly cover Lync issues with other errors including this one, but nothing with the exact same description.

The setup is "Exchange Server 2013 on a Windows Server 2012 Standard" SSL 993, TLS 587.

OWA and everything else is functioning properly.

Hopes this helps.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Thank you in advance.

Default reminder still set when meeting has NONE set to reminder time

When reciever of meeting request has switched off the default reminder it will get the reminder time set by the sender. When it's set to 1 hours it is set to 1 hour. When set to 30 minutes it is set to 30 minutes.
When sender sets it to NONE. It will be set to the number that is shown in greyed out.
So when reciever sets default reminder to 1 hour and then disables it. Meetings with reminder set to none will be set to 1 hour.

AutoArchive - Error while archiving folder "Top of Information Store"

Full error: Error while archiving folder "Top of Information Store" in store "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" You are attempting to archive your data to a Outlook 97-2002 data file (.pst) which is a non-unicode data file. To preserve multilingual data, you must choose a Unicode data file, such as the outlook data file (.pst).

Configuration

User running on Windows Server 2008/Office 2010 has been getting this error since being setup with email a few weeks ago. It's a new profile. The Outlook configuration is set so the Exchange mailbox is the default and autoarchive runs every day to move items from the mailbox to an archive.pst.

Things I've tried

The .pst file was created new with Outlook 2010. I even created another new one and migrated everything over, ensuring it was not in the older 97-2002 format. But she continues to receive this message.

I have viewed the contents of "Outlook today" on the mailbox and there are no emails there (in case user somehow was able to move an outlook item to the root of the information store.

And also have tried recreating her 2008 profile (even though it was already new).

I am lost! Any ideas?

Hi,

on exchange 2013, OWA and mobiles are working fine but users when open outlook are prompt for credentials, which never happened before as outlook login was windows integrated. some users outlook doesnt connect even after giving credentials, and others get connected on providing credentials. i want it like before no prompts for credentials, just windows integrated.

when i try to create new user profile in outlook in the third step logging to server prompts fro a login credential, which is unusual behavior never seen before.

when i ran tests only outlook connectivity test failed, please guide me to resolve this issue

Outlook 2013 - constant sync address book

I was advised to post this here vs Outlook 2013 regular forum.

Updating Address Book constantly showing / not able to download OAB - I'm worried this is also wasting battery on top of being just flaming annoying to always see.

Hardware:
Lenovo T430 (i5 2.5/8gb ddr3/500gb HDD)

Software:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit (also tried Win8 64bit Enterprise)
Outlook 2013 64-bit (15.0.4420.1017)
Exchange 2010

Running a manual download results in: Task 'username@domain.com' reported error (0x801901F4) - The Operation Failed

Works fine on my 2007/2010 Outlook.

No errors running the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration

Connection Status all shows Established with Negotiation / Encryption.

I've not found ANYONE else online with this issue; I found one from the preview period that reported similar issues, and the resolution was to delete the Outlook folder in appdata - this did not resolve it for me.

Outlook Displaying DisplayName and Email Address in reply mail after updating Outlook to 15.0.4745.1000

We recently patched out office environment and Outlook updated to version 15.0.4745.1000. Whenever a reply is sent, the previous sender and all of the recipients show below (as expected) but instead of just mail address, DisplayName and EmailAddress properties are shown. If sending to a DL, of say 70 users, this expands and shows all 70 users addresses and display names clogging up the feed - it looks like the below -

does anyone know how to ensure that outlook only shows either the mail address or the display name?

Thanks

All,

I am finally building a new environment and AD structure where .local no longer exists.  I want to be sure I have everything documented and correct before I down the existing Exchange server.  Could someone review the steps below and let me know if I am missing anything and I have it correct so that when I am finished I have an Exchange 2013 CU7 server that is running and integrated with Windows Server Exchange 2013.

  1. Install Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard with Update
  2. Join new server to WSE Domain using WSE tools provided
  3. Next run the below commands on Windows power shell on Exchange 2013 server

  • Open the Windows power shell & run as an administrator

  11. Follow instructions to export cert and run ARRConfig on PDC
  12. Open Dashboard on WSE 2012 R2 Server and run the Integragte on premise exchange wizard to tie them together
  13. Add appaopriate DNS records to DNS Server domain doxidaddy.net
  14. Move Mailbox store to a RAID 5 drive prepared just for this purpose (will have to find KB article for this and next step)
  15. Move Public folder database to separate RAID 5 Drive

Out of office replies in Exchange 2013 not working for external recipients

Hi,

Few days ago a couple of company workers went to vacation. They set up OOF automatic replies in OWA 2013. However automatic replies are not working for external recipients (outside of company). Internal users (company users) receive OOF notification.

I'm using smart host in sender connector configuration (SMTP server of internet provider) to deliver emails. Any clues about this problem ? Please find below part of the transaction log. For testing purposes i set up administrator account to be on vacation.

IMAP failing intermittently with one mailbox

$

We are in Exchange 2013 - 2010 Coexistence mode for the past two weeks, and are having some IMAP issues. One particular mailbox user is having intermittent issues with IMAP connection. About a dozen times a day, the connection fails, and the following is logged in the IMAP logs:

2014-08 05T20:19:03.041Z,0000000000036BDA,1,<2013CASIP>:993,<LOADBALANCERIP>:37619,<USERID>,61014,24,22,login,<USERID> *****,"R=""!@# NO LOGIN failed."";Msg=""User:<USER NAME>:ad73727b-7a7b-46d6-92d4-1c49d4ba3036:<DATABASE>:<2010MBXFQDN>;Proxy:<2010CASFQDN>:993:SSL;Proxy:<2010CASFQDN>:9933:SSL"";ErrMsg=ProxyTimeout:ProxyNotAuthenticated:PreAuthTimeout;Excpt=""No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <2010CASIP>:9933-SocketException"""

Notable section seems to be: Proxy:<2010CASFQDN>:993:SSL;Proxy:<2010CASFQDN>:9933:SSL"".

First, there are two "Proxy:" entries showing. During normal and successful proxy connections, there is only one:

014-08-05T19:46:01.846Z,0000000000036771,1,<2013CASIP>::993,<LOADBALANCERIP>:59894,<USERID>,241,24,25,login,<USERID> *****,"R=ok;Msg=""User:<USERNAME>:<GUID>:<2010DATABASE>:<2010MBXFQDN>;Proxy:<2010CASFQDN>:993:SSL;ProxySuccess"";ActivityContextData=14..."

Second, the 2010 CAS server is not listening on port 9933 but on port 993 (and 143). As a matter a fact, even on all 2013 servers, ProxyTargetPort value is not 9933, so not even sure where this number comes from. In IMAP logs it only appears in this specific log entry.

Other that this particular user, other IMAP services and connections seems to be working for most people on 2010 and 2013. I believe IMAP settings are thus set up correctly and I have gone thought them extensively.

I'm not understanding why the proxy is deciding, in some cases, to proxy to 2010 CAS server on port 9933 (at the same time as 993) for this particular user.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

OWA and EWA Error

$

We are facing issue logging into OWA and EWA.

OWA error: something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled.

EWA error: 500 Unexpected Error :(

We renewed the wildcard certificate and noticed this error after a day.

When login to ECP locally, it displayed a certificate error

We checked the IIS services bind to Exchange services. https in IIS manager is also binding to the new wildcard certificate.

Is this how we renewed the wildcard cert:

1. Import the exported PFX certificate into thePersonal> Certificates store.
2. Verify that the private key attached to the cert3. Bind IIS services to certificate using Exchange Admin Center

Did we missed any steps?

Best Regards,

Migrated from 2007 to 2013, can no longer open a shared mailbox as the ONLY mailbox in outlook profile.

Background.  Exchange 2007 installed August 2008.  We used a shared mailbox for our hotel staff. "Reservations".  The staff accessing this mailbox did NOT have their own mailbox.  I would create an EMAIL-Security-Group and add the staff to that group.

I would use the Add-MailboxPermission command and Add-ADPermission command to grant the EMAIL-Security-Group Full Access.

When we hired a new reservation agent I would create them in AD and add them to the EMAIL-Security-Group.  Then upon login to our server I would run Outlook for the first time and manually just specify the mail server and mailbox

mail.hotels.com

reservations@hotels.com and click "Check Name" and it would resolve and everything was great.  The user only had the shared mailbox in Outlook and did not have their own mailbox whatsoever.

Now we upgraded to Exchange 2013, all tests come back clean.  Outlook Anywhere is working, ActiveSync is working, PF were migrated etc etc.  Exchange 2007 decommissioned.

Now none of the users that had the shared mailbox setup in Outlook can open it anymore and I can not add any new users either. I get cannot resolve name, could not open folders etc.  I'll post pics if it helps.

I have searched high and low over google and tech net without any answers.

Remember I am trying to have users who do not have any mailbox of their own to be able to open a shared mailbox in Outlook as their ONLY configured mailbox in profiles.  Can someone please try this as I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my Exchange/AD setup or if this feature had been disabled, or if I have to use new powershell commands to tweak what I am doing.  I have been searching for answers now for almost 2 months so I figured I would post it.

Outlook Web App

I am connected to Microsoft Exchange using the Outlook Web App for my work email. Originally, I had set it up to link with my gmail address, allowing whatever messages received on the Outlook Web App to be sent to my gmail account as well.

Now I want to simply turn off that feature, messages received in Outlook, stay in Outlook only, but I cannot find a step by step instructional list on how to do just that.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Miss Rachel
