Internal OWA Error: "A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account..."

Can someone assist me in troubleshooting this error when I try to access OWA internally:

"A server configuration change is temporarily preventing access to your account. Please close all web browser windows and try again in a few minutes.  If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk"

The environment is in co-existence between Ex2010 and 2013. My mailbox is in Ex2013. However, another user has the same issue and his mailbox is in Ex2010.

Free busy not accessible for Exchange 2013 mailboxes (co-existence with Ex2010 in place, intra-org)

Does anyone have an idea why I cant view free busy data for Ex2013 and Ex2010 mailboxes when I'm creating appointments? This happens only for Exchange 2013 mailboxes, not being able to view anyone's free busy data. Ex2010 users can view Ex2013 free busy data.

Mismatched SSL cert in Outlook 2010 on Exchange 2013.

New Exchange 2013 Server and brand new AD.  Everything is working great except Internal Outlook 2010 clients can't stop Outlook Anywhere from inserting the internal server address instead of the external SSL cert address.

I bought a UCC cert with 5 SAN names to include the internal server FQN as well as autodiscover names.  I have set all the virtual directories to use the external name as the internal name, I've setup an internal DNS zone for mail.ad.com to point to exchange server, I've set outanywhere and autodiscover to use the external name and no matter what I do I cannot get Outlook anywhere to push the Mail.Ad.com to the clients.  So Local AD Domain is AD.Company.com(no .local), Server FQN is Server.AD.Company.com, external mail server FQN is Mail.Company.com.

SSL Cert from GoDadday is Mail.Company.com, includes SAN Names, Ad.Company.com, Server.Ad.Company.com, autodiscover.company.com and Company.com.

But shouldn't the UCC cert recognize that Server.Ad.Company.com and Mail.Company.com are part of the same Cert and to not provide a Mismatch warning?

Anyone know what is going on here??

Thanks, Dan Beaulieu

Exchange Server 2013 Outlook Anywhere issue

I am working on an issue with Outlook Anywhere in Exchange 2013 where external and also internal users cannot connect. This is a new server co-existing with an Exchange 2010 server that will soon be decommissioned.

When I run an Outlook Connectivity test on testexchangeconnectivity.com I get the following error. I am not seeing anything in the application or system logs. I already applied CU 8 and am seeing the same results. External is a TMG and publishing to CAS 2013 server, which then proxy to CAS 2010

Create Outlook forms for everyone

I used to be able to create Outlook forms in Outlook 2007/2010 and save them on the Ex2007 server.

I need a form to automate how department liaisons are requesting new employee accounts.  Unfortunately, they are leaving out many details that are needed.  Surprise, surprise! :)

Is this possible to do this in Ex2013/OL2010/OL2013?

How are others using forms

I have always used Outlook app in 365 until I wanted to use Skype for Business. So I set up outlook 2010 on my desktop and I get this message. "Msft exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" What does this mean???

As you can see in this picture above the email being sent to jamie, regina and joseph do not display the current Lync status in the To and CC field.  However, It does display the status in the bottom ( as green) for joseph, jamie, and regina). My question is how can I help this user out by making the status at the top also so so it looks like the picture at the bottom. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Outlook 2010 - show only category colors on shared calendars, no other details

$

My boss would like to share his calendar with all his employees but would like them to see only the category colors, no actual details.  He will use the category colors to indicate his "whereabouts".  For example, RED would mean that he is out of the office, quite a distance away and could take some travel time between appointments , YELLOW would mean that he is closer, GREEN, he is only 5-10 minutes away.  Another color would indicate that he is IN the office.

Basically, he would like to use it like the SHOW AS feature, but it would allow him more flexibility and details.

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you!

DANIEL JACKSON, MICROSOFT SUPPORT ENGINEER, SUGGESTED I POST TO THIS FORUM FOR MORE ANSWERS.  IN THE INTERIM, I HAD THIS IDEA.

I have not found a feasible work-around as of yet but just got an idea.  Not sure how to do it though....

He could enter "Client" (generic, no information) in Subjectfield and real client location in Location field.  When he shares hisFree/busy time, subject and location, employees would see where he was and his categories.

Less convenient for him is the generic "Client".  My thoughts?  Is there a way to add a user-defined field in the Calendar view?  (I know how to do it in List view)  If he couldenter and show the client information he wants to see in a user-defined field when he creates an item inCalendar view, this field would not be shared if he shared hisFree/busy time, subject and location.  I think it might work.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Exchange OWA and custom HTTP errors

hi there,

This might be slightly off topic, but let me try..

I want to make sure that if someone type the browser URL "mail.contoso.com/owa" that the connection is moved to the https instead of HTTP, in automatic way.

The easiest (?) way is to add a custom error for error code 403.4 which do the redirect to the address https://mail.contoso.com/owa.

The challenge is that I cannot get the 403.4 activated in anyway. When I have the redirect rule for that, I only get the empty page for the browser. Also if I test this on the server itself I get the 403 error.

Does anybody have an idea what might block my custom error to be activated?

Hi,

I would like to find out for Exchange On Premises with EOP setup for belows:

1)  If Exchange 2010 existing domain has autodiscover CNAME to autodiscover.outlook.com.
What is the best way to go about for new Exchange 2013?

2) Although CNAME for autodiscover no needed as told in Exchange on Premise setup, is there any advantage to maintain such?

3) Do the CNAME autodiscover will switch to new Exchange 2013 in the co-exist environment Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013?

4) Should we remove the CNAME instead?

Outlook anywhere cert issue on co-existence 2007 to 13

Hi,

I have found an issue on outlook anywhere. I have ssl cert with *.abc.com. This cert is attached on IIS & when I open OWA, ECP the URL picks up the correct ssl cert. but when I go to configure outlook anywhere on client side it show that "mismatch certificate" I found from "fiddler4' that it try to go to internal servername "ex2013.xyz.local" while the external URL that works on OWA is '"mail13.abc.com" ( Even SSL cert is *.abc.com). How can I point to outlook anywhere to not read local machine name & go to "mail13.abc.com" to resolved the cert issue, because there is no trusted cert against the machine name.

Can any body tell me the fix of this issue?

outlook 2010 paperclip but no attachment

$

We are having issues where an email has a paperclip icon but not attachment in Outlook 2010.  If the same email is viewed via OWA, then the attached file can be seen and accessed, so I know there is a file there.

Is there a setting in Outlook or Exchange is blocking the attachment from making it through to the desktop client but not the OWA client?

Email only works in 365 Portal

Hi,

I have just setup my own domain name in Office 365.

The mail is now working fine and can receive and send when using the mail within the 365 portal.

When I try and setup the mail as an exchange account in any other application, Windows Mail, Outlook, OWA App it says couldn't find settings for that email address.

Does anyone know why this is, I presume it is a setting I have dome incorrectly somewhere. Office 365 portal says the domain has all been setup correctly which I look for any issues.

Thanks

Matt

Exchange 2013 - The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site

$

Hi,

I know this question has been asked a ton of times, but I haven't found any instance of this question asked for exchange 2013.  Yes, I've seen Exchange 2010, Exchange 2007, but not Exchange 2013.  The symptoms are all similar.  Here is a description:

1 Exchange 2013 server, all roles installed.

External domain name:  associates.com

Internal AD domain name:  associates.local

Client installed a third party SSL certificate, but did not purchase a SAN or UC certificate, so there is one namespace on the SSL cert, and that represents the external OWA name:  mail.associates.com

Now, when internal OUtlook 2010 clients start, they get the "The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."

I'm just wondering if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726 still applies to Exchange 2013 to fix this issue.  Does this article apply to Exchange 2013?  If so, I will follow the above article.  If not, please direct me to any articles for Exchange 2013 that addresses this.

the autodiscoverserviceuri points to:  https://netbiosnameofmailserver.associates.local/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml

Thanks!
