Exchange 2013 cannot delete mails from a users Outlook or OWA profile

Hi all,

I am having a rather strange issue and am having issues figuring out why a users mailbox is doing this
The issue is that I have over 100 users in our organisation, however 1 user is having an issue emptying his deleted items folder.
If he does from either OWA or Outlook the files in the deleted items folder disappear then around 1 minute later they are all back again? No other user is having this issue it is just this user. I have tried to repair his mailbox and all results were successful however the issue still persists?

I am starting to think it may be easier to export to a .pst and recreate the whole user from AD up? However this would still not answer the question of why the mailbox is behaving like this? Any assistance would be great.

i have some user which have exchange 2003 mailboxes now i removed  exchange 2003 server from my company and delete all existing database because i dont require any old mails now i installed exchange 2013 on server 2012 plateform i disable the mailbox of existing users and assign new mailbox user accessing their mailbox using owa  but when opening in outlook 2007 error display unable to connect  profile connect to exchange server please provide solution

Hello,

I am running Office 2013 15.0.4719.1002 Office 365 Proplus (on Win 7 x64).
I am using contacts and added contact picture. Currently, I am having round 1200 contacts.
For round 100 of my contacts, when I open outlook and switch to contact folders and to business card view,
in way of getting scaled contact picture, I get just a grey cadre. For the other ones, photo is correctly displayed.
For both, opening the contact, contact photo is ok.

I tried to adapt zoom, no way.
I tryed copying contacts from OST or to PST, same issue.
Duplicating "failing" contact(s) does not help.
Assigning photo from "failing contacts" to "working contacts", no prob, photo updated.
Checked photo format, in .bmp, .png or .jpeg formatsTryed to reduce color count, no way.
Checked for linked contacts, unlinked to other if any, no change.

I am completely lost with that problem. No additional idea where to look at.

Any idea ?

Getting alerts for new appointments, showing on calendar but not in the inbox

Starting about 1 month ago, started receiving calls from staff stating that new calendar appointments were showing up on their calendars, but not in their inbox.  I have been checking different forums to see if an outlook update or windows update may have caused this, but not finding anything.  Using Outlook 2013.  Also, get alerts that appointment is coming in.  Has anyone else seen this issue or know of a resolution?

I use this outlook for my office email account (configured with Microsoft Exchange). 
I have many folders and subfolders under Inbox. I use the drag and drop method of moving his emails into their respective folders. 

Often, while I am checking emails / dragging an email to a folder, the entire pane of folders will collapse, expand, and finally collapse back to the complete unexpanded state. I will then have to expand folders and sub folders all over again everytime, this is very unproductive and frustrating. 
Can any Microsoft expert help please?

Modify Calendar item gives "You don't have the permissions requied to send messages from this mailbox" .

 Situation:

-Customer has taken over an existing company.

-New users where created in the domain.

-Mail accounts where created and the .pst's imported.

-Everything fine so far.

Problem:

When a user tries to edit a calendar item created in the past the message "You don't have the permission required to send messages from this mailbox" appears. After that the item is changed in the users calendar who edited the item but not in the other users calendar who where also invited.

Everything works fine when a new calendar item is generated.

Cannot find anything on this.

Please help!!

Outlook Client Can't Connect After Migrating Mailbox from 2010 > 2013 SP1

I have already migrated multiple users with no issues, but this last user, once his mailbox had been migrated over to our Exchange 2013 SP1 servers, his Outlook client could no longer find the Exchange server.  He received the message that an admin has made changes that require them to restart their Outlook client.  Once he did that, he was presented with a message that Exchange was unavailable and that the server may be offline.  All other users, who also reside in the same subnet, are working just fine.

He can connect via OWA and his mobile device with no issues, it is literally just Outlook.  I logged on to the same machine where he is having the issue and was able to configure my account with no issues.  I removed his mail profile and recreated it with no success.  I then took it a step further and removed his local computer account and recreated it...still with no success.

I then had him log into a laptop with Outlook 2013 installed and he was presented with the same errors.  If I configure his Outlook profile manually, it will work just fine.  Also, if I migrate his mailbox back to an Exchange 2010 mailbox database, everything works just fine.

I still have hundreds of mailboxes to migrate and want to make sure this issue is resolved before proceeding.  Any information or other troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange Server Admin Center will not load, blank page after trying to login. I added the mail ssl to the Remote Desktop Gateway service and it overwrote my settings.

I'm getting this error in my event viewer after mistakenly changing a binding to a SSL Cert in IIS.

A fatal alert was received from the remote endpoint. The TLS protocol defined fatal alert code is 46.

This was the error after changing the binding:  SSL Certificate Settings created by an admin process for endpoint : 0.0.0.0:443 .

I have an additional mailbox configured with my primary Exchange account, 

I would like to receive desktop notification when i receive Emails in additional mailboxalso.

I have turned on via Desktop alerts in File -> option -> mail -> turn on desktop alerts.

even i have created rules for the additional mailbox -> when receiving a mail in additional mailbox show a desktop alert even then it it is not working.

I needs this desktop alert when i receive Emails in additional mailbox.

Hi,

I would like to find out for Exchange On Premises with EOP setup for belows:

1)  If Exchange 2010 existing domain has autodiscover CNAME to autodiscover.outlook.com.
     What is the best way to go about for new Exchange 2013?

2) Although CNAME for autodiscover no needed as told in Exchange on Premise setup, is there any advantage to maintain such?

3) Do the CNAME autodiscover will switch to new Exchange 2013 in the co-exist environment Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013?

4) Should we remove the CNAME instead?

Hello All, Just making my Q very simple,

I have 2 Exchange server 2010 (DAG) in same site, server A and Server B.

Server A is my primary database server all 6 database are mounted on Server A.

today we found our all database are mounted on server B all database in failed and suspended mode,

I wanted to know the reason why it happens.

why all database failed and suspended mode.

please guide me. I have already checked the Event Log, IIS log,

I am running a command "Cluster log /g /copy:LogFolder /span:120" but getting log for todays date. i want a cluster logs for 5 days.

Exchange 2010 to 2013 Migration issue

hi,

I hope finds you well.

I have done migration process form exchange 2010 to 2013 and all the mailboxes moved smoothly after the movement there is some user face and issue.

that the outlook keep ask for the credential I tray to guess the problem when the outlook warm up the connection statues as you see in the below pic disconnected for the exchange directory

the email is running correctly (send - receive ) if cancel the credential box

and another thing in the account option I found in security tab  that the logon network security is selected as anonymous authentication

if I change it to negotiate authentication the message disappear and goes to connected  but we restart the outlook the option goes back  to  anonymous authentication  and the credential box will appear.

can you help us please

outlook 2010 paperclip but no attachment

We are having issues where an email has a paperclip icon but not attachment in Outlook 2010.  If the same email is viewed via OWA, then the attached file can be seen and accessed, so I know there is a file there.

Is there a setting in Outlook or Exchange is blocking the attachment from making it through to the desktop client but not the OWA client?

Some users are unable to open free busy information in Outlook 2013 and also unable to set OOF when using Outlook 2013. It  is getting the following prompt when trying to access their automatic reply settings:
"Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable".

Appointments with option Working Elsewhere not visible in Scheduling Assistant

I have a problem with appointments that have the Show As option as "Working Elsewhere".  When someone tries to use the scheduling assistant and selects someone who has an appointment set to "Working Elsewhere" the appointment is not visible at all in Scheduling Assistant. If the person changes the appointment to Busy or Out of Office is becomes visible again to the person using Scheduling Assistant. Outlook 2013 and Exchange Server 2010 with the latest updates installed are being used in our Environment. Is this type of behaviour by design or is it something else like using Exchange 2010 that doesn't support it fully?

I am facing issue with my exchange server i am not able to send emails to few domains, I am using Exchange 2013 CU7. I doubt it can be spf record issue but not sure, Experts do guide me. Do i need to create SPF record at the ISP or on my server?

Hi,

We have just moved from Exchange 2010 to 2013 (completely new organisation/ad, there were lots of problems with the old one). All roles are performed by a single server (budgets). Everything went perfectly however Outlook cannot connect, creating a new profile finds the settings via Autodiscover (via 3rd party cert) but then the following error occurs:

(There were images before, but apparently I am not allowed to post any images so apologies for the typing out)

The action could not be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

The check name doesn't work and the account cannot be created (and from what I have read Exchange 2013 doesn't support non-autoconfigure connections anymore).

Before I enabled Outlook anywhere any Outlook connections would just constantly ask for credentials, however I can't go back now it seems. Does Exchange 2013 only support RPC via HTTP connections for Outlook? That is something new if true.

Then I checked https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ and the following is displayed:

Attempting to ping the MAPI Mail Store enpoint with identity xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxx@domain.com:6000

The attempt to ping the endpoint failed

The RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE error (0x6ba) was thrown by the RPC Runtime process.

Cue some intensive Googling (sorry Binging?) and several suggestions were found to resolve the issue from various threads here and blog posts:

  • Add IP  SERVER to the hosts and lmhosts.sam files
  • Disable IPv6
  • edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy\ValidPorts to everything I could think of: 
  • NETBOIS:593;NETBOIS:49152-65535;FQDN:49152-65535;localhost:49152-65535;Outlook anywhere FQDN:49152-65535;
  • Telnet into port 6001, 6002 and 6004 from the server. This throws an interesting result:
  • Port 6001: ncacn_http/1.0 (which seems fine)
  • Port 6002: can't connect
  • Port 6004: can't connect

This looks to be my issue, but I can't see why it's not connecting and I don't know how to check any further. The other thing is the Remote Connection Analyser is looking for port 6001 and it can't connect.

Any help is much appreciated, I think I have tried everything I can think of and have reached the end of my intelligence.
