Outlook not showing all-day events in shared calendars

One of my users cannot see all-day events on shared calendars if those events are marked as "free" (as in the person is not busy or out of the office.) We use these events for a time-off calendar, and being on our help desk she needs to know when people are not in the office.

We just replaced her computer and this was not an issue on the old computer, just the new one. Everyone else can see these events, the issue is just her on this specific computer. She can see all-day events on her own calendar, she can see all-day events on shared calendars if the event is not marked as "free", and she can see any event on a shared calendars where the event is not all-day (including "free" events.) The problem is only with all-day "free" events that are on a shared calendar, and the issue is only present on one computer.

We have tried uninstalling and re-installing Office, we have tried resetting her views in the calendar view, we have tried just about every option that we can find within Outlook with no avail.

Any idea?


Outlook for MacOS regularly loses connection with Exchange Server 2013

Hello!

I have MS Exchange Server 2013 (Version 15.0 Build 847.32), it's single server with CAS and Mailbox roles.

MS Outlook(2013, 2010) for MS Windows work absolutely normally.

But MS Outlook(i tried 2011 and 2015 versions with last updates) for Mac OS (10.10) have a problem, this problem - lost connection with exchange server after some(random) time normally working and show me window of username and password request. 

If i input correctly username and password, it's ignored and windows show me again.
This problem is solved only by restarting Outlook.

Into Outlook log i see that:

P.S. I tried find solution for this problem and turn off Digest Authorisation in IIS for EWS, but its not solve my promlem.

Outlook email not sent and not in sent items

We've been experiencing this 'phenomenon' for several weeks. Randomly, different users believed to have sent email when no email was ever sent. In fact no trace in our Exchange logs either. Each had a random window in which any email sent just disappeared. It never made it to sent items and never made it to our exchange server. All with no Outlook errors and appearing to functioning normally thereafter.

In one case a user had discovered an entire days worth of mail had unknowingly not been sent and was not found in the sent items folder.

These installations are on new machines, Outlook 2013 (o365) and Windows 8.1 with all updates applied. For one it happened on the first day and for others it happened a few weeks later.

Everything I find on the web seems to lead to nowhere because it can't be reproduced and once discovered, if ever discovered at all, it's too late.

Up to now we've only disabled cached mode and are waiting to see if it re-occurs but it will only be when someone actually notices it.

Anyone else seeing this?

Outlook 2013 intermittent connectivity to exch server 2013

Hi

Have been having this problem on and off for a few months now. I have a director who accessed his mailbox from several outlook clients and laptops as well as from mobile accounts. It seems to be happening only from a wireless network too whether connected to the domain locally or working from home.

Sometimes weeks go by and his mailbox is fine but then sometimes for about a week or so he just cannot connect to his mailbox. Connectivity to the server sees fine through ping and tracert is connecting through one hop. Have deleted his profile and re created a couple of times but seems to make no difference. Also tried repair under account setting on the profiles too. 

The error code in outlook is 0x8004011D. Have tried safe moed and tried windows clean boot mode but still not working

Thoughts?

100% CPU Utilization on All Exchange Servers

We have 6 Exchange 2013 CU7 servers (vm's) behind a loadbalancer.There are 7500 mailboxes but the last login shows an average of about 4000 mailboxes that login's daily. Most are 500mb quota accounts. 99% of our users use Outlook 2010.This system has been stable and rock solid. The issue was first noticed on March 11th. CU7 was the last update applied and that was Feb 20th. We do have a handful of Iphone that have updated to 8.2.

We are seeing CPU spikes on all 6 Exchange 2013 servers to 100%. Each day around 10-11:00am. During this time Outlook clients move to "Trying to Connect" to connected. OWA and Iphones appear NOT to be affected. We are seeing an increase of users with mail stuck in their Outbox also. Many users the inbox does not update for hours and they come in the next day to see countless messages not read from the previous day.

The current workaround is running IISReset on one server and then all the servers stabilize to normal levels. Looking at the logs nothing jumps out as the root cause. Somedays theIISReset command is run more than once to fix the 100% spikes. The Exchange servers never spike out of working hours or weekends and each morning they are running at normal levels.

I am guessing there could be RPC issues from googling but have nothing to back that up. Using the performance monitor seeing averages of

  • RPC Clients request at 3,200,000
  • RPC Operations/Sec at 3500

I am not sure if this normal or crazy high.

I have read days of google searches but most are Exchange 2010 not 2013. I don't see any utilities in Exchange 2013 to see if a user or users could cause this behavior and just at loss on what the root cause is.

We have a user who has these devices connected to our MX server;

iPhone 

iPad

Desktop Win 7 Pro, Outlook 2010

Laptop Win7 Pro, Outlook 2013

He will open an e-mail look at it, then delete. It then goes into the deleted items folder and duplicates as one read and one unread. We have not been able to figure out why this is happening. We have tried disconnecting all devices and reconnecting them, no joy. Tried recreating the .ost, no joy. Tried recreating user profile, no joy.

At one point we disconnected his laptop because he was getting a new one and it stopped doing it for the most part, still happened but not very often. Then we brought the new laptop online and it returned with a vengence. So we disconnected all devices and reconnected all devices except his desktop. He ran the weekend with no duplicates, Monday when we reconnected the desktop it came back strong.

It seems to be tied to the cached mode and Offline use. I did a complete uninstall/re-install and turned off cached mode for the re-up and had zero duplicates. A few days later I renamed the .ost and started Outlook and it immediately started popping dups on the other machine. I cancelled the build went and turned off the offline files option in outlook and restarted. No dups. I don't want to have this user operating without cached mode due to it being slower and having to wait if he loses the network briefly. Any ideas?

After installing the exchange 2013 CU7 updates, am receiving error message below when trying to sent emails from OWA.   all emails sent from outlook clients are working fine.  have tried different mailboxes on different mail stores still the same error only when trying to sent out emails using owa.

the exchange 2013 Standard application has been installed on a hyper-v windows 2012 r2 with all windows updates installed inc Feb 10 2015 updates.

Hello,

I have a few users that have two mailboxes one is a external pop3 box and an exchange mailbox. They just use the exchange box for calendaring purposes email is handled thru the pop3 box. Outlook has both boxes setup and normally when the user sends email from companyname.us a copy is placed in the companyname.us sent folder. Recently the user will send an email from the companyname.us box and the copy is in the sent folder of the companyname.local (exchange emailbox sent mail folder).When I look at the email it has the user@companyname.us email address on it so I know the user selected the correct email address when creating the email. Anyone ever heard of this problem . It is occurring for some of my users but it is not constant and it is hard to pin down why it is happening.

Room finder Option Not Available

Room finder is empty in Outlook - but not in OWA ?

Hello

 I have this problem - exactly as asked here:

 They kind of referer to this site. Then i have been looking and searching here - and didnt really come up with anything. So - therefor this post :)

I have this setup:

 Exchange 2013, SP1 - CU5

 Mostly Windows 7 with Office 2013 - about 200 clients - (also a citrix farm with same version) :  2013 Pro Plus (15.0.4693.1000)

Problem:

 For some reason, when i want to use the room finder, when creating a new meeting - my room finder justs says "None"

 It works fine with OWA.

What i have done:

 It was created with powershell as following (The room list):

New-DistributionGroup -Name RoomsHQ -DisplayName "Rooms HQ" -PrimarySmtpAddressRoomsHQ@*********.com–RoomList

and then added the rooms:

Add-DistributionGroupMember -Identity RoomsHQ -Member RoomBlue

Add-DistributionGroupMember -Identity RoomsHQ -Member RoomRed

and so on...

All the rooms are of the type: Room

Im pretty confident its a client problem since its working in OWA. The Client also lists all the rooms when i want to add them manually (clicking Rooms... next to the location field) - so outlook CAN see the rooms.

Also - There has been no difference running Cached mode or not.

I dont know where to look next :) Hope one of you bright minds can help me in the right direction :)

Outlook Room finder not working in Office 2013

Hi,

we are seeing the following behaviour in our exchange 2013 environment.

With outlook 2010 clients the room finder works fine and you can see all the room distribution lists.

In outlook 2013 the room distribution list dropdown is not present

We can select the rooms via the rooms button, the rooms distribution lists can be added as a required attendee and freebusy information for the list is shown in the scheduling assistant. 

If you expand the distribution list you see free/busy information for ALL rooms fine.

The issue occurs either in cached mode or online. 

OWA works as expected and outlook 2010 also works as expected.

Tearing my hair out here :)

Can't recover deleted items in Exchange 2013 OWA

I have two Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS servers (no CUs). I try to restore a deleted message in OWA (right-click on the Deleted folder, click Recover Deleted Items) and receive Error 404 in the popup window (Chrome) or "Something went wrong" in IE. In addition, the IE window contains the following explanation of the error:

Our CAS servers are joined to a NLB cluster, but the error is the same whether I connect to the NLB name or to a specific CAS Server.

All other links in OWA and ECP work fine, no errors.

Looks like a bug in the Exchange code. Does someone besides me encounter the same error?

Outlook Move Emails to specific folder rule issues.

Hello,

We have found fallowing issue in our Outlook/Exchange environment:

If we setup rules in outlook 2010/2013 to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails are moved to that folders but also they appear in a "Recover deleted Items" folder. if we move emails manually no issues. If we recover them they will appear double in the specific folder.

We are using two Exchange  2013 Servers in DAG with latest cumulative updates. CAS/MB roles combined.

Any Ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Outlook 2013 Auto Account Setup for Linked Mailbox Not working

We've created a linked mailbox, in Exchange 2013 (in domain1), for a user in another AD forest, domain2. We have the AutoDiscover service configured in the other AD forest as well. Our only issue now is trying to find a way to get the Outlook Auto Account Setup to automagically configure a user's profile the first time Outlook 2013 is started. If we type in the user's email address and name and click Next, the profile is created successfully.

I spoke to Microsoft support who helped me confirm that AutoDiscovery was configured correctly in the other forest. Reading this information (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124251.aspx ) on AutoDiscover, I found what may be the issue. It notes that

"If the Outlook client is joined to a domain, the user's domain account is used."

Since the linked mailbox is associated with domain1, Outlook looks like it cannot use the domain account from domain2. I wonder if there might be a registry hack to bypass this and force Outlook clients in domain2 to look at email addresses in domain1?

OWA 2013 SSO - OWA Version

Hello,

I'm trying to SingleSignOn to OWA 2013 using NetScaler AAA. Everything seems to be working fine, however I get the 2010 version of OWA. If I connect to the exchange server directly I get the 2013 version.

From what I can tell, this happens because I get the light version of owa, right?

I have read many articles that state that I have to specify a combination of the variables "flags" and "trusted".

Although I tried "flags=0&trusted=0" and "flags=4&trusted=4" I haven't got it to work.

One last thing, when I check the version of the OWA using ECP and Powershell I get that it is 2010.

This is a clean installation of Exchange 2013 on a brand new domain with just one server. The version of the server is 15 build 516.32 and it's running on Windows Server 2012 R2.

Removing .xml from Blocked File Types

Hello,

I am having difficulties removing .xml from my block file types from PowerShell. I can log into my exchange server through powershell without problems. Listing the allowed file types and blocked file types work. I can add the .xml to the allowed file types. That being said now i have .xml added to both my allowed file types and blocked file types. 

Set-OwaMailboxPolicy -Identity Default -AllowedFileTypes '.xml'  This is the command i used to add it to allowed file types. 

These are the commands that I tried to use to remove the file extension from the list. 

Remove-OwaMailboxPolicy -Identity Default -BlockedFileTypes '.xml' 

(Remove-OwaMailboxPolicy).BlockedFileTypes = 'xml'

Each time I run the above commands i get:

A positional parameter cannot be found that accepts argument '-BlockedFileTypes'.
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [Remove-OwaMailboxPolicy], ParameterBindingException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PositionalParameterNotFound,Remove-OwaMailboxPolicy

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Error migrating user from on-premises Exchange to Exchange online

We have a hybrid configuration with our on-premises Exchange 2010 server and our Office 365 Exchange Online server (if this should be posted in the Exchange 2010 forum instead, let me know, but I figured we have one of each).  We have been doing remote moves, and all but two of them are finished. The two remaining are refusing to go, and I've done extensive searching but haven't been able to resolve the issues.

The first mailbox returns this error message:

Error:MissingExchangeGuidException: The user object for ‎nnndoes not have a valid ExchangeGuid property and cannot be migrated.


The second mailbox returns this error message:

Error:MigrationTransientException: Couldn‎'t find a move request that corresponds to the specified identity <‎identity>.


We've tried moving both mailboxes several times (deleting the migration batch after each error) with no luck.   The migration for both of these users are being done as separate batches with one user in each batch.  They are being created via the Exchange Admin Center from the Office 365 admin portal.  Any suggestions on what to do next?


DAG an error occurred while searching please try again owa exchange 2013

Hi,

I have DAG with 2 member MBOX (MBX1 and MBX2).

Mailbox Database active running on MBX2 and passive running on MBX1.

I have problem, when i move active mailbox database to Server MBX1 i can't search email with error message "an error occurred while searching please try again" but if active Mailbox Database still running on Server MBX2 i can search email.

Please Help me to resolve this problem.
