OWA 2013 Appointment will disapear during checking e-mail

Dear Microsoft users,

I'm working at a school with 600 teachers. I received a question about the next problem:

I'm making an appointment in OWA 2013. I'm writing some text etc. and in the meanwhile I receive an e-mail.

I switch directly to the e-mail option to read my e-mail but if I go back to my calendar, the appointment what I made is gone.

I have to create a new appointent.

Is there a solution for this?

I tried already a workaround and the only solution what I found was to open "Event" so an extra popup is coming up.

This is a little frustrating.

I hope toe hear from you.

Kind of regards,

Roderik de Haar

Exchange Server 2010 OWA Error 405 StaticFileModule

I am running Exchange Server 2010(Version 14.1 - Build 218.15) on Windows Server 2008 R2. This is a all-in-one-server roles installation. Everything is working fine except forms-based authentication. When enabled I get HTTP Error 405.0 "Method not allowed". The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because an invalid method (HTTP verb) is being used.

Details are:

Module StaticFileModule
Notification ExecuteRequestHandler
Handler StaticFile
Error Code 0x80070001
Requested URL https://localhost:443/owa/auth/owaauth.dll
Physical Path C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\owa\auth\owaauth.dll
Logon Method Basic
Logon User administrator

When in EMC, Client Access, on OWA & ECP tabs I change authentication forms-based to standard with basic check box and restart IIS the Web Access works fine.

I have already tested solutions like recreating Virtual Directories, Allow .Net 2.0, etc. I have also checked all the modules and the associated mappings in IIS one by one for every VM. I believe this is an error in a .config file. If you have encountered a situation like this please help.

Yosemite mail and authentication exchange 2007

When the users started upgrading to Yosemite mail on ther Mac:s I have been seeing a lot of failed logins against Exchange. Several hundredthousands per hour.

I can see for example that the mac tries to access autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and gets a 401.

I found this post but it looks like it doesnt help for all the macs:

http://meandmymac.net/2014/10/trouble-with-yosemite-mail/

The client should authenticate with:

domain\username

but sometimes i get  domain\emailaddress or cas-servername\username and they get a 401.

I have a exchange 2007 fully updated.

Anyone else who have seen this problem?

IMCEAINVALID NDR with Exchange 2013

Hi,

We are having the same issue as the person in forum thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c77100f9-5cd8-460b-a9e3-38dbea60dc95/action?threadDisplayName=outlook-2010-imceainvalid-ndr-with-exchange-2013

When sending an email using Sage on our App server we get an NDR below (I have changed the email address below)

When Outlook is set as online (not cached exchange) we do not get the error, when cached we get the error. It seems to be a common enough. THe "Answer" in the other thread mentions an option but has no further detail.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:    Statement to date from Solas Consulting Group

      Sent: 22/09/2014 10:25

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

     emailaddress@email.ie on 22/09/2014 10:25

Diagnostic code = OrNameUnrecognized; Reason code = TransferFailed; Status code = 510

            < #5.1.0 smtp;550 5.1.0 RESOLVER.ADR.InvalidInSmtp; encapsulated INVALID address inside an SMTP address (IMCEAINVALID-)>

If you could let me know what that option is, that would be great.

Thanks

Ed

Outlook 2013 Can't Access Shared Calendar

Since upgrading from Outlook 2010 to Outlook 2013, I can no longer access Shared Calendars.  When the owner of a Shared Calendar emails me a link to the Shared Calendar, Outlook states that it is "Preparing Calendar for First Use", but then a message pops up that states "We can't complete this because we can't contact the server right now.  Please try again later."  When I attempt to open a calendar that had been previously shared with me while I was on 2010, although it still appears as a Shared Calendar within Outlook, I receive the same message.

Please note that I can open all Shared Calendars using the Outlook Web App.  I also have another PC which still has Office 2010 and I can still view Shared Calendars there.

Weird problem regarding meeting invites

Hello,

I'm running Exchange 2013CU6 and Outlook 2010 in my network. Recently, one of my users sent out two meeting invitations without requiring a response. Soon after, she noticed responses coming in for both of them and going straight to her Deleted Items folder. Unfortunately it was doing so almost everyday around 9pm. It would say - "Microsoft Outlook on behalf of <user>" "This meeting is not in the Calendar; it may have been moved or deleted. Microsoft Outlook has <accepted/delete/tentative> this meeting on behalf of <user>”

She's been getting them almost everyday since she sent it out. Today we had to do a restart of our Mailbox server and once it came up, she called me and mentioned that it was happening real-time.

Can someone here assist me with this? Any ideas or suggesstions are appreciated. Thank you

Hello,

i'm having issues configuring outlook (be it 2007, 2010 or 2013 all fail the same) on non-domain joined computers in the LAN to a exchange 2013 server.

I select manual config, in server we put "mail.domain.local" and user "domain\user" and it bounces with "cannot complete action, the connection to exchange is not available, outlook must be online".

We tried with external full email address, nothing

tried setting the outlook anywhere proxy, same, tried using ip address, same

it simply refuses to configure.

any ideaS?

Corrupt summary TNEF content - Error 5.6.0

$

Hi,

We are on Exchange 2013 CU3, and users are unable to send email when a message .msg file is used to create the email via outlook.

The error message when sent to external (outside our exchange server realm) is :

Diagnostic code = ContentTypeUnsupported; Reason code = TransferFailed; Status code = 560

     < #5.6.0 smtp;550 5.6.0 M2MCVT.StorageError; storage error in content conversion

Error when sending to internal users on exchange.

Remote Server returned '554 5.6.0 Corrupt message content; STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ConversionFailedException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Content conversion: Corrupt summary TNEF content. ConversionFailedException: Content conversion: Corrupt summary TNEF content. [Stage: CreateReplay]'

I looked on this forum itself and these errors existed it seems prior to 2013 as well, looks like its back in 2013 ? Would the CU 5 update deal with these issues because i almost think that upgrading to CU5 should resolve it unless there is some connector issues where we are dealing with.

Thanks

http 400 - bad request

The setup is as follows

Windows Server 2012 R2 running Exchange 2013 CU5 - CAS Role
Windows Server 2012 R2 Running Exchange 2013 CU5 - Mailbox Role
Published via Web Application Proxy, using ADFS on Server 2012 R2

The problem

Browse to https://webmail.contoso.com/owa - log into OWA as myself this works fine - try and open another users mailbox that i have full access to, i get HTTP 400 bad request

If i browse to https://servername and perform the same procedure it works.   This leave me to the conclusion that the Web Application Proxy server / ADFS server is at fault

this KB article is not relevant in this instance, as I can resolve the names correctly;http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2770796/en-au

Any suggestions

Thank you.

People and Tasks pages stuck on loading in OWA - other settings not working

Single Exchange 2013 CU6 on Server 2012 R2 in coexistence with Exchange 2007 during migration.

Having a problem with OWA on Exchange 2013. When clicking on the People or Tasks tab they never load just say loading. Also unable to enter certain settings from the settings menu like Change Theme, Display Settings, Offline Settings; the browser doesn't do anything when those links are clicked. Composing an email in HTML doesn't work either; unable to type in the email body (no cursor or Font Styles bar) and changing to Plain Text allows user to type in the email body. This behavior is the same across IE11, Chrome 38, Firefox, Safari. Seems to be a problem with OWA premium as OWA light on an XP machine with IE8 doesn't have any of the above problems. OWA works fine in Exchange 2013 CU4 in our lab environment.

Thanks for any suggestions as I am banging my head against the wall with this.

Why are emails in public folders being marked as read when viewed in the viewing pane when I have disabled this in settings

$

I am using office 2010 on a windows 7 PC. In outlook I have changed the settings for the reading pane so that emails are not marked as read unless I actually open them. This is working for emails in my inbox and outbox but not for emails in public folders. Emails in public folders are marked as read as soon as I click on them. Do public folders have a different setting for marking email as read in the reading pane?

It is important for me that emails in the public folders are not marked as read when i click on them as I need to read through hundreds of project emails in these folders and need to be able to distinguish between emails I have read and actioned and emails I have just clicked on while searching for an email I need. This folder serves as an archive for my emails so i cant delete them once I have read them. I also don't have permission to label them or create tasks from them.

I have checked the DNS settings for hostname and its correct. We are using split dns settings.

OWA and all other virtual directories are showing same address for external and internal.

The error comes up saying it couldnt find the proper name in certificate. Error is xcompany.com.au is not available when outlook should look for mail.xcompany.com.au.

Anyone ??

Exchange 2007: attachment missing in Outlook 2013 / owa but it was already opened

$

Hi folks,

We are experiencing a problem with some emails that have attachment.

We have already opened that Excel attachment in the past weeks. Now, Outlook and also owa displays the icon of the attachment (paperclip) but when we open the email there isn’t the file.

It seems that something has removed the attachment from the Exchange server also if Outlook has already downloaded the file.

We are using Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2007.

Today also the paperclip has disappeared...that's very strange!

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Diego

Connect to Exchange 2013 using IMAP/SMTP from the Internet

$

Hello,

I would like to enable connectivity to my exchange server using imap and smtp. my exchange server is using the default configuration for imap and smtp which are port 143 and 25 respectively. I have two exchange servers both with CAS and MB roles installed. I also have an edge server on my DMZ. I have also published my OWA using IIS ARR module. I wonder where I should direct my traffic from my firewall to enable IMAP connectivity taking into considerations my two servers with CAS and MB roles are inside my network. I also wonder how I can enable redundancy for IMAP connections. Thanks a lot.

Outlook 2011 - Nested distribution groups won't expand

$

Dear all,

We have a distribution group containing other distribution groups. When expanding or sending an email to this distribution group only one of the nested groups are getting resolved. We never seen any issues with this before the Office update after the Yosemite update so we can't tell if this was an issue before or after the update.

Windows with Outlook 2010 doesn't have this issue.

Example:

- GroupA contains UserA and UserB

- GroupB contains UserZ and UserY

- GroupX contains GroupA and GroupB

When sending/resolving GroupX only GroupB (so only UserZ and UserY) will be used.

Client:

Outlook 2011 14.4.6
OSX Yosemite

Server:

Windows Server 2003 R2
Exchange 2007 08.03.0379.002
