OWA & Outlook Anywhere problem

$

Hi,

For several months I did my migrationfrom  Exchange 2010 to  2013 (CU4)
Currently I work with Exchange Server 2013 and 2007 (in coexistence mode).
Since migrating my Exchange 2010 to 2013, customers who still have mailboxes on Exchange 2007 encounters problems in Outlook anywhere that become non-functional (prior to Exchange 2010 migration to the 2013 Outlook Anywhere works correctly for mailboxes located on Exchange 2007), and another more serious problem is that some users on my Exchange 2007 when he opened their mailboxes through OWA are randomly in switched to other accounts so that access to other messages which is a very serious breach of security for our customers !!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have an idea about these two issues please ? !!!!

Exchange 2013 + 2007 OWA coexistance not redirecting properly (HTTP 400)

Hello.  I am using this document to funnel our new Exchange 2013 external traffic through an IIS ARR reverse proxy, much like we already do for MIcrosoft Lync 2013 on this machine.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/08/02/part-2-reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr.aspx

I followed this guide to a T. especially the part on the page 2 that I linked above about creating the legacy.domain.com server farm and URL rewrite rule.  This IIS ARR proxy seems to work fine for Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync, OWA if the user's mailbox is on the Exchange 2013 server, but it does not work if an OWA user logs in with a mailbox on 2007.

When the user has a mailbox on 2007, after logging into OWA they get HTTP 400 error.  The URL bar in the browser is changed to https://legacy.domain.com/owa/auth/owaauth.dll

The Exchange 2007 server IIS logs show this:
70.x.x.x, -, 11/1/2014, 9:45:48, W3SVC1, MAIL, 10.1.1.3, 0, 523, 132, 400, 0, POST, /owa/auth/owaauth.dll, -,

I can't figure out why this is happening.  DNS is correct.  legacy.domain.com points to the 2007 Exchange server.  webm.domain.com points to the Exchange 2013 server.

Any ideas?

Outlook cannot connect over VPN after SSL cert renew from .local to .com

I have
Exchange 2010 and just renewed my SSL certificate on the server. As you may be
aware that .local name is no longer valid/accepted for new certificate issue. <o:p></o:p>

https://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/redirect-internal-exchange-san-names.htm<o:p></o:p>

I have
change the SAN names on the certificate, meaning I have just removed the server.domain.local
name and rest is the same. Certificate has been installed and in the beginning
we receive certificate mismatch security alert error message but that has been
sorted now. BUT remote users cannot connect to exchange server over VPN. They
are keep being prompted for username and password. <o:p></o:p>

I have
tried this https://www.networking4all.com/en/support/ssl+certificates/manuals/microsoft/exchange+2010/modify+.local/<o:p></o:p>

Tool from
Digicert https://www.digicert.com/internal-domain-name-tool.htm
Internal user are working fine without any problem but external user have
problem connecting. <o:p></o:p>

I have
tried the Authentication method to Basic/Negotiate unchecking the box "Only Connect to proxy server that have this principle
name in their certificate". I have deleted any cached username password,
nothing is working. Try to add new account over VPN and no luck.

i was migrating from exchange 2003 to 2010 to 2013.

after the migration and i install the exchange 2013 with exchange 2010 and configured it. the outlook not working with users that migrated to exchange 2013, and working well with the users already existing on exchange 2010.

when i try to fix this issue i set my outlook provider using this commend   Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName"msstd:mail.mydomain.com"

but unfortunately it's impacted the server name in client outlook.

then i removed the outlook provider and create it again. but with no change. then i uninstall the CAS server and install it again but with now change too.

now the outlook server name is my URL "mail.mydomain.com" and i need to recover it to be hash like "c4eb30b0-50ce-46fa-a019-c94851d99fda@mydomain.com"

How can I script out automatic mail profile connection to Exchange 2013

We use a program called Desktop Authority 9.1 that is a fully featured kixstart based logon user profile customization tool.  It does a full gamout of things like map drives, folder redirection, import registry edits, run silent application installers, and of course create the Outlook profile.

There's no issues with this tool creating an outlook profile internally to mail.domain.com, and even detecting laptops and configuring it for outlook anywhere to webm.domain.com and cached mode.

Issue I'm having is trying to roll out Exchange 2013.  This tool simply does not seem to create the mail profile.  On a test computer I have the hosts file pointed to the new 2013 server from these names: webm, mail, autodiscover.  At log on I simply get an error "The name cannot be resolved.  The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list."  When you click OK you get a little confusing dialog box with the exchange server name: mail  and the mailbox: windows user ID.

So I tried to do this manually in the Mail (32-bit) control panel applet.  It doesnt matter if I put in mail, mail.domain.com, webm, webm.domain.com, email (the netbios name of exchange 2013), etc.. I get the same error.  I went into More settings> Connection > connect to microsoft exchange using HTTP and in the proxy settings I have webm.domain.com, connect SSL Only, only connect to proxy servers that have the name: msstd:webm.domain.com, and the rest is checked and NTLM Authentication is checked.

I simply CANNOT manually create an outlook profile at all.  I can surely delete this one, start outlook, click next through the wizard taking all the default options and get Outlook configured that way (via Autodiscover service), but I need a way to do it manually so I can have Desktop Authority do it manually.  Why?  Two major reasons:

1.  If our end users are greeted with an Outlook startup wizard every time they go to a different computer, and have to click next through it, our help desk is going to be overwhelmed with "what is this outlook startup wizzard?" questions.

2.  Desktop Authority also attaches additional mailboxes.  We need the outlook profile passed through DA's scripting so different users departmental voice mailboxes are attached in their outlook.  IE) Mailbox VM_FAX_Accounting is attached to all of the accounting associates Outlook.

OWA (Exchange 2013) on iOS 8

We've been experiencing a few problems in OWA with devices where people have upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 and 8.1

For example, the calendar does not display any events, nor does it display any shared calendars on the left hand side.

Admittedly, we are still on Exchange 2013 SP1 mainly because we are in a 2007 mixed environment and CU6 would give us more than a few headaches.

Having looked through the KB articles for CU5 and CU6, there doesn't seem to be anything that would directly relate to changes to the rendering that could alleviate this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know if either of the CUs would resolve the issue?

Thanks

Andy

Outlook archive disappeared since moving to 2013

Hi there,

We recently moved from a Windows 2008 R2/Office 2010 remote desktop environment, over to Windows 2012/Office 2013. We are now getting an issue for the majority of users where they cannot see any archive folders. This includes their own archive as well as archives for shared mailboxes, for which they have full access permissions.

Has anyone come across this issue, or have any suggestions?

Other information:

* We are running Exchange 2010 Enterprise

* All installations of Outlook 2013 are Pro Plus - volume License

* The recalled update KB 2881011 is not installed on any of these servers

* We have tried removing then re-adding the account in Outlook

* We have checked that the Outlook account is setup in Online mode

* We have tested with a new user account

* If we go back into the old TS environment, the Archive is still present

Any help will be very much appreciated.

OWA only access

Here is an interesting one for you. We have an Exchange 2010 with Owa and Active Directory. We have someone outside the company that we need to give an e-mail account for use. I already made it, and made sure all e-mail sent and received is also forwarded to the boss.

However, this person will only access OWA, not set up the email on outlook. And on rare occasions, this person will come to the company for meetings. Now I don't think that person will ever have a cable plugged in to access the domain user, but just to make sure, is there a way to allow the user to use OWA, but not permit him to access the domain user or setup outlook with that e-mail?

Hi,

I have a below requirement :

I have to send mail, which fetch the info from the master Excel sheet. This sheet contains 700 rows and 5 columns.

These 700 rows are divided in to some 50 groups each group contains some number of rows and 5 columns (3-80). These 50 groups mail ID including Cc is listed in the note pad line by line.

Lets say example: Now I need to send a mail to group1

Now scripts has to do the below function:

It should fetch the some number of rows and 5 columns from the master sheet (lets say 10 rows and 5 columns), in the same way it should fetch the email adress for the group1 from the note pad and send a mail from my outlook account in one shot for all 50 groups by selecting all 50 group mail address from notepad . Please can any one help me out on this.

Thanks

Raj

"Not Read" receipt received from sender for all emails sent.

We recently migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and I've got one user that started having a strange problem after the migration.  She has Outlook set to request a read receipt for all emails that she sends and that works fine except that for every email she sends, she gets a "Not Read" receipt back and this not read receipt comes from her as if she sent the email to herself and didn't read it.  She also get the not read receipt if she deletes emails that are in her sent box and again, the not read receipt comes from her.

This user is using Outlook 2007 SP3 with all available updates installed.  We've tried a new profile and we've also tried on a different computer with the same results.  She doesn't have any rules set up except for the one for clearing categories that I believe is a default rule.  I've checked the settings of the rule and there is nothing there that would be causing this.  The other strange thing is that these not read receipts seem to come in batches.  If she sends one email the the not read receipt doesn't show up or at least not immediately.  If she sends 2 or 3 messages then she'll get all of the not read receipts for those 2 or 3 messages at the same time.

Internal OWA not working on 3 of 6 Exchange 2013 servers.

Hey guys

I have 6 Exchange 2013 servers, all of them multirole. The 3 in my eastern datacentre work when accessing OWA internally, yet the three in my western datacentre do not. They all use the same SAN certificate with the correct subject names. They all use identical authentication (integrated). When attempting to fix I have tried the following without improvement:

- change auth

- change cert

- remove owa front end site, create new front end site

When I hit the OWA page, I'm prompted for authentication (same for all servers, but I would have thought integrated would not do this). When I enter my credentials, I go instantly to the below screen.

Your help, as always, would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Joe

Hi there,

I have a strange comportment with Outlook 2010 SP2 and Exchange 2013 CU2 and i really need your help.
Frequently, when an user (who has the good permissions for) want to edit a shared calendar (edit a meeting or add one), he has this error message:
" Cannot display the folder. Your server administrator has limited the number of items you can open simultaneously. Try closing message you have opened or removing attachments and images from unsent messages you are composing "

I see anything in the Exchange server event log but i have each time, an error message in the client event log:
" Microsoft Office14 Alerts ID 300"
Everything work very well with Outlook 2013.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance, and I am looking forward to reading from you.

Server Administrator has Limited the Number of Items You Can Open Simultaneously

Over the weekend, we moved all of our room mailboxes over to Exchange. For users who have lots of room calendars open in their Outlook clients, they are getting the error message "Cannot Open the free/busy information. You Server Administrator has Limited the Number of Items You Can Open Simultaneously" after the migration from Exchange 2010.

Restarting the Outlook client temporary fixes the problem, but the problem comes back after they access the calendars again.

The users impacted deal with a lot of room scheduling, so they have 30+ room calendars open in their Outlook clients.

I have tried setting up a throttling policy with unlimited RCA connections, but that didn't help.

I have seen with Exchange 2010 there were some registry keys people were setting on the server that pretty much makes everybody have unlimited connections, but that isn't ideal if's only affecting a few people.
