Exchange Certificate Error... From DSL Modem?

$

Hello,

We have had a terrible time with certificate errors on our new Exchange 2013 server (exchange.company.com).  We have certificates for exchange.company.com and autodiscover.company.com.  We are now getting certificate warnings in Outlook 2013 that state the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site.  At the top of the warning it says exchange.company.com.  Makes no sense!

When I click on VIEW CERTIFICATE it says issued to/by hubrouter.westell.com.  This is my DSL modem outside my firewall.  Why is this occurring?  There is an option to "install certificate" on the error in Outlook so I did this and pushed the hubrouter.westell.com certificate to all clients, no change.

Any suggestions on how I can resolve this?  Is there a way to ignore hubrouter.westell.com?  I really don't understand what is occurring and am running out of options.  Do I need to turn off autodiscover by HTTPS and just rely on SVC records?

Thanks!

Mike

Exchange 2013 CU6 CAS not working across AD sites

$

Hi folks,

I receive the following error when trying to access Outlook Web Access or Exchange Control Panel from a CAS server based at a different site:

Error executing child request for /owa/auth/errorFE.aspx.

Situation

We have 2 datacentres, London and Chicago. Each Datacentre has:

2 x 2013 CAS servers
2 x 2013 Mailbox servers

We are still using Exchange 2010 SP3 for all users and we are testing Exchange 2013 on the live internal domain (we do not have a test domain yet). I have transferred my corporate 2010 mailbox to Exchange 2013 mailbox server in London. However, if I access the London CAS server https://londonServerName.domain.com/owa, everything works fine. If I access the Chicago CAS serverhttps://chicagoServerName.domain.local/owa, I receive the above error.

We never had any such issues in Exchange 2010 so I wondered if this was a known Exchange 2013 issue. The AD sites have been set-up properly. It seems we cannot access mailboxes if using a CAS server at a different site. Why doesn't this CAS proxy / forward to the correct mailbox server if at a different server?

The idea is eventually to include hardware load balancers at each datacentre and point DNS at the VIP for each datacentre but this is not in place yet. As this is in test at this stage before we migrate fully, I have pointed my localhost file to one of the London CAS servers and then I can access my emails. If I point the localhost file to the Chicago CAS server, I cannot access emails through Outlook or OWA.

They can send and receive email successfully but after send-receive process the error appear.

-The error just on same departman clients, others can work smoothly.

- No mistake on outlook configuration.

I need help about it.

Emails appear as unread when starting up Outlook 2013

I have a 365 account with 4 email accounts on it, one email address on that account is running office 2013.

When we start Outlook each morning, all the emails appear in it but are already marked as unread.

The account is not linked to any phone and has no folder rules applied.

Any new emails that arrive during the normal day activities are marked as unread. The other 3 addresses are fine.

Any suggestions?

in OWA, name resolution does not use Contacts

We migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.

When I go into OWA, and starting a new email, I can type part of a contact name.  I use Alt K and the name won't look in my Contacts to resolve the name.

I can type part of a name that exists in our global address list and use Alt K and the name gets auto populated.

Why isn't OWA looking at my contacts first to resolve names?  In OWA settings, I have Contacts selected under E-Mail Name Resolution...When resolving names, check first in:

Email not leaving outbox

Just over the last few days I am finding that I have to create the same email twice and send both because the first one will not leave the out box. The first email I send first goes to italic then that goes off and it shows a document icon. If I create exactly the same email in the same manner it sends perfectly fine and shows me the envelope icon. I have read the other posts like mine and followed directions from the various pages but nothing has worked.

The only change in my computer was a windows 7 update. I even tried through 365 to repair the install.

My email is IMAP/SMTP. It is an Exchange email through Shaw cable.

I followed a link in these questions and did everything it said I was to do. I'm sorry I don't remember the link and it didn't help anyway, I do remember that it was dealing mostly with 2007 and 2010 Outlook. It told me to remove the .srs file which I did and rebooted the computer. Didn't help.

On my own I have repaired the installation of 365 and rebooted the system didn't help. I repaired the email file through File-Accounts-E-mail-Email name - and repaired, the test message sent by the program did send and get received. Tested my own emails again didn't work. Rebooted the computer no change Still have to double up on the emails.

I think I have found the problem but do not know how to fix it. In every email I write when I check the "Delay Delivery" it is always check marked and is always today's date at 5:00pm. I found this before and unchecked it but it seems to be a 'stuck' choice.

This morning I repaired the installation with the on-line choice, rebooted and it still does not work.

Thanks in advance

Port forwarding issue with SharePoint website and Exchange autodiscovery

$

Hi,

I have a SharePoint website which is hosted in my internal server ( App server ). The internal ip address is 10.x.x.213

I have used SSL certificate on the site. So I forwarded port on my Netgear router . Port 80 and Port 443 on the above server ip 10.x.x.213.  And I was able to access the site from outside typing domain . ( i.e https://sub.mydomain.com )

Then I installed Exchanged 2013 on different server with IP address 10.x.x.216 .

So the autodiscover for the exchange was installed on Port 443.

But I can't forward 443 again on the router for the exchange server 10.x.x.216 .

Could you please tell me how should I configure this to get  exchange ecp , owa and SharePoint website working from external.

If I forward 443 on 10.x.x.216 my exchange works fine from outside. Then my SharePoint website stop working.

I would appreciate your help and cooperation

Thanks

Setting up OWA co-existance 2007 and 2013

We have added an exchange 2013 server to our existing exchange 2007 environment. We are having issues accessing OWA externally on the new server. When going to the OWA site of the new sever we are being directed to the OWA login page of the 2007 exchange not the 2013. Ports 443, 110 and 25 are forwarded to the 2013 server, but still only get the 2007 OWA. Both servers have different external OWA addresses. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

outlook contact cannot display correctly from outside

Hi,

After migrate our exchange server from 2007 to 2013, the "contact" address display name cannot show correctly. They will show the original sender config display name such as their own format [Firstname, Lastname]. If the address already in contact list, we will expert it show more detail such as company name, department name in email address display name such as [First Last companyname]. Which is our Exchange 2007 server doing before.

Any idea to fix it?

Thanks,

Edmond

Oracle Workflow Mailer dies with "unable to connect to mail store"

Our Oracle workflow mailer uses IMAP to connect to exchange. It was working fine on our exchange 2010 server but we have since migrated to 2013.  I have matched the IMAP settings from the 2010 server and am able to telnet to 143.  The Oracle WF Mailer runs for awhile then dies with the error "unable to connect to mail store".  On the exchange server in the IMAP logs I occasionally see: login, cxprdwf *****,"R=""A1 NO LOGIN failed."";Msg=Proxy:***EMAILSERVERNAME**:9933:SSL;ErrMsg=ProxyTimeout:PreAuthTimeout".

The Oracle wf mailer runs on Oracle Applications R12. Exchange is 2013 Build 995.29 (I think that's CU6?)

OWA calendar Items not showing up

After the latest cumulative update OWA calendar items aren't showing up. I don't use OWA that often so it's hard to determine when this happened so I am assuming that it was after the last cumulative update. Another coworker OWA errors out when he tries to access his calendar. Calendars work fine from Outlook.

any ideas?

IMAP commands are very slow and end up having the connection terminated by the server

$

Hi,

In the past weeks (months?) I noticed that certain IMAP commands are very slow and end up having the connection terminated by the server. This is on Outlook.com.

I'm able to reproduce this issue on the command line:

I connect to Outlook.com's IMAP server in the command line using OpenSSL:

openssl s_client -connect imap-mail.outlook.com:993 -crlf

Here's one of my test sessions, with the IMAP commands I issued and the replies from the server:

* OK Outlook.com IMAP4rev1 server version 17.4.0.0 ready (BLU451-IMAP378)

001 AUTHENTICATE XOAUTH2 {base64 string containing access token}
* CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 CHILDREN ID NAMESPACE UIDPLUS UNSELECT
001 OK {username stripped} authenticated successfully

002 EXAMINE SENT
* FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft)
* 124 EXISTS
* 0 RECENT
* OK [UIDVALIDITY 57466809] UIDs valid
* OK [UIDNEXT 102901] Predicted next UID
* OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft)] Limited
002 OK [READ-ONLY] EXAMINE completed.

003 FETCH 1:124 (ENVELOPE)
(server replies stripped)

The last command that was issued (FETCH 1:124 (ENVELOPE)) is the problematic one. The server sends one response for each message requested, with the envelope of the message. The problem is that there are several seconds between responses, sometimes even minutes. After some replies the connection is terminated by the server:

read:errno=0

Thanks in advance and please let me know if you need more information.

"Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."

Hello, one of our users is stating that when they make changes to meeting dates and/or times, a few minutes to a day later, the changes revert to the original date and/or time. Additionally, they will occasional also receive an email stating "Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."

This customer is on a Win7 client and running Outlook 2007. Both the OS and Office/Outlook are completely patched as of 08/12/2014. There are also a couple of iOS devices that access the Exchange account and both are running the latest version of iOS according to the customer.

The customer states that this behavior began immediately following our migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013 a couple of months back. I am not able to see any reason for this at the server level. We also do not currently have any other users complaining of the same issue. I am unable to replicate the issue using my account. I suspect that it is isolated to this single user at this point.

We are running Exchange v15, build 847.32.

Has anyone experienced the same? Thanks in advance for any input.

OWA functionality in Exchange 2007 coexistance with 2013

I have conexistance environment with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. Out of about 1200 users we have 25 test users in the 2013 environment. The problem we are seeing is when a 2013 mailbox has "Full Access" to a 2007 mailbox and tries to connect to that mailbox through OWA 2013 the connection always fail. I can attach the mailbox in Outlook with no problems but cannot open that mailbox through OWA 2013. Any thought?

Hi,

i am trying to send a mail with about 500 recipients from Outlook connected with Outlook Anywhere to the Exchange 2013 Server. For each user i get an error saying mail could not be send - Error: [0x80004005-00000000-00000000].

If i send mails only to a few recipients it works with no problem.

I found the following limitations:

get-ReceiveConnector | fl identity, MaxRecipientsPerMessage

MaxRecipientsPerMessage : Default : 5000, other connectors : 1000

get-transportservice | fl PickupDirectoryMaxRecipientsPerMessage

PickupDirectoryMaxRecipientsPerMessage : 100

get-transportconfig | fl maxrecipientenvelopelimit

maxrecipientenvelopelimit : 1000

get-mailbox user| fl RecipientLimits

RecipientLimits : Unlimited

Did i missed something?

OWA/ECP Custom Theme Exchange 2013

$

Hello,

I've read numerous posts on customizing OWA themes and currently have them in place in my 2010 Exchange environment.  I've also used them in 2007 Exchange infrastructures.  I've been trying to roll out a similar design in my lab before we go live with our 2013 migration but I have a few questions.  I've read the tech net article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201700%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx) and found no issues with it.  Everything works as it should.  However, in my current 2010 environment, the paths to the image files are slightly different than they are in 2013.

The biggest problem is that I have to place the headerbgmain.png and headerbgright.png in the ECP folder (Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\ecp\version\Themes\Default) in addition to the OWA folder (Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\version\themes\default). If I don't do this, the header and the OWA logo won't match when switching between OWA and ECP.  So this has worked since the 2010 release of Exchange.  Not certain if this is supported or not.

Moving forward, how do I ensure that the two image files get propogated between OWA and ECP without a disconnect as the file path no longer exists for ECP and there is no documentation on how to go about doing this?  I've got the OWA part working without any issues in 2010.  Just not certain how to go about it in my 2013 lab and would like to know before I can go ahead with the migration.  Thanks for any help!

OWA/ECP - setObject failed randomly

$

Hey,

We are having trouble with out enterprise exchange server. When its being used from external connections after a while it will "time out", so if you spend too long typing a out of office message or leave the page open and come back and change settings the user will get an error message that pops up with "setObject failed". This does not happen internally and works fine in those situations. THe user then has to refresh and do what he has to do quickly before it "times out"

Few things to note:

  • There is only one SSL binding on the default directory with a CA signed cert.
  • There are no errors in event viewer and i cant see any in the IIS log.
  • I can recreate this very easily.

Any help on this matter would be very welcome and appreciated.

Thanks

Unable to configure email account as outlook can't connect to Exchange Server - Office 365-

$

Hello,

My company purchased Office 365 recently. I uninstalled the Office 2013 32 bit version I was using and installed office 365. I am having a small problem when I try to configure my email account to be used with Outlook. But when I go thorugh the process, which I am doing with the Autodiscover thing, it will always end up coming across a problem when trying to connect to the exchange server that doesn't allow it to finish the process:

"The connection to Microsoft exchange is unavailable. Outlook must me online or connected to complete this action"

So far I've had no luck looking for the error, as it seems that it appears for other problems.

I apreciatte in advance any help that someone could give me.

Regards,

Daniel
