Outlook 2007 Windows XP cant connect if IIS service run beyon wildcard certificate

Hi Team,

I have 2 exchange 2013 MBX+CAS. I plan to use wildcard public certificate as IIS services for all my Exchange.

I deploy wildcard, assign service and test it at browser and outlook in windows 7. no issue.

but when I test to windows XP machine SP2. outlook become issue, disconnect and prompt password.

heres the erro

I already change outlook provider but no good result. still disconnected. I am really sure outlook anywhere configuration for all my server is OK. no ssl offload and use NTLM.

please help :)  what is the root cause of this issue?

Appointments sent externally appear as messages

No global settings have been changed to my knowledge but when calendar appointments are sent externally, the recipient receives them as emails - Exchange 2007 and 2013. Anyone seen this?

OUTLOOK 2013 Keeps asking for password

Hi,

I am having 2 users with the same issue who both used laptops with Windows 8 64 bit. When they tried to enter password, it keeps prompting them, even though the password was absolutely correct. We tried..

1.  changing password.

2. to recreate profile.

3. reinstall MS Outlook 2013.

4. Check the internet connections(Users are still able to receive and send emails).

All seems to be in vain. The prompt still pops up.

The only "Work around" is to leave the password dialog box open and slide it down to the very bottom of the taskbar where it is not visible (mostly). User can still send or receive emails. However, it doesn't reflect us good professionally.

Exchange 07 to 13 OWA Error after mailbox move.

I have an Exchange 2007 – Exchange 2013 Sp1 environment set up and coexistence is working properly. The issue I am seeing is sometimes when we do a migration from 07 to 2013 sporadic users cannot access OWA on 2013, they get an error..

It doesn’t happen for everyone just a few people, if we move them to different database in the same DAG on a different server they can access OWA.

What logs can I look at to help find the root cause of this error? Or has anyone seen this before?

"leave a copy on the server" doesn't work, mails stuck on the server

Hello All;

I've 2 Exch2013CU6 clustered servers. Because of a number of causes we have been using POP3 for some clients.

Although "Leave a copy of the messages on the server" is unchecked on the pop3 clients, the email messages which are download via pop3 client can not be deleted on the server. 

Outlook gives error message 0=X0800CCC90 just after messages are received. I know it is very generic error message which means "something wrong".

I deleted re-created the profile, nothing changed.

I tried different pop3 clients, no luck.

In order to find the root cause, I created a new database and a new mailbox in the new database and the same problem occured also for the same mailbox.

I connected to the Exchange servers individually (not to the cluster), same error message is displayed and messages weren't deleted.

I don't know what to check on the server and need to your help.

365 Business exhange msgs missing

365 Business version license purchased Outlook configured with a new clean/empty MS exchange account, a previous pop mail account also added. Outlook 2010 was uninstalled. Nothing imported from Personal Folders set, which only has a personal mail account configured.

In the initial days I realized mail shown under OWA on another device wasn't appearing in the desktop Outlook, the mail eventually appeared some 8-12 hours later, after this everything appeared OK

Fast forward several weeks & its happening again, although with a single mail. If I search all items in the desktop OL nothing is found, there is then the option to search the server, doing this causes OL to stop responding, after some minutes it comes back and has found the missing msg, but this mag is not downloaded to the inbox. No rules in place.I then manually move the msg to a folder.

Running the OffCAT utility doesn't find/reveal anything obvious though it makes reference to Outlook 2010 under various headings (Which was uninstalled) I know I could run the Office 2010 removal tool, or manually uninstall, but I'm still running a heavily coded Access 2010 db

Any thoughts?

Unable to open attachement in OWA 2010

We have exchange 2010 , CAS/MBX/HUB all on one server. All was working fine until 1st issue reported that owa is not working with webmail.company.com  and it was fixed. but now OWA users are unable to open any attachment. error received is page cannot be displayed. when trying to open attachement it redirects to URL https:// webmail.company.com /attachement.ashx ...x.....x...x and after a while page cannot be displayed error comes.

Any suggestion please.

Mail folders in profile collapses upon exit.

Hi all

Quick question here.

We have a user, that says, his Outlook folders and subfolders under his profile does not stay expanded, when he restarts hi Outlook client.

I cannot find any settings for this, and to my knowledge, Outlook should always remember you folder settings. My Outlook does!

Any suggestions?

Mailbox mails to be remove through shell

Hi,

I need to keep one of the mailbox mails to be reserve present two days only and past mails are to be removed.

I have tried below command from exchange shell but it's not worked out.

Get-Mailbox -identity migrationking@domain.com | Search-Mailbox -SearchQuery 'Received:<(Get-Date).AddDays(-2).ToString('MM-dd-yyyy')' -TargetMailbox "migrationking@domain.com" -DeleteContent -loglevel full

Please suggest on this.

Email Discovery

I'm using an Exchange 2010 server and need to do search of any emails with a certain phrase.  When I use OWA go to My Organization, Mail Control and then Discovery.  When I start creating the search criteria it won't let me type a phrase with or without the () and I can only type cap letters no numbers.

We are planning on upgrading our exchange server from 2010 to 2013. We want to keep 2010 OWA login page with this upgrade. Partly due to educating users to new OWA interface and no plan to upgrade to office 2013 anytime soon.

Questions:

1. Do you or do you not recommend?

2. Is it possible?

3. How to keep 2010 OWA login page during and after migration to 2013 (instructions)?

Missed Manage Voice Mail Icon

Users with Outlook 2010/2013 in Exchange 2013 complaining about missed "Manage Voice Mail" icon in Outlook. Previously they used to click phone button in Outlook -> File Tab to manage their voice mail, however suddenly they missed this button in outlook.

Not sure what happened, please help us to resolve this issue.

Outlook 2013 - using the search in a .pst file

hello everyone

we are working in a virtual environment (citrix desktop) with outlook 2013.

I have a .pst file attached to my outlook in which I need to search items like addresses or calendar entries using the outlook search function - well it doesn't work. No matter what I'm looking for it always just displays no results. Searching in the .ost file of my exchange account works just fine.

Is there anything we can do to fix the issue? We really need the search in those .pst files.

Exchange 2010 mailbox prompts for authentication to Exchange 2013 mailbox

I am in the process of a 2010 to 2013 migration. The only issue I can't seem to manage is an authentication issue with Outlook 2010. My Outlook profile consists of my Exchange 2013 mailbox and a shared mailbox on Exchange 2010. Initially, Outlook was prompting for authentication to the Exchange 2010 mailbox. Regardless of whether I entered the correct credentials or simply cancelled the prompt, I still had full access to both mailboxes (including Public Folders on 2010). The authentication prompt was removed with the following command:

Get-OutlookAnywhere -Server my2013exchserver | Set-OutlookAnywhere -InternalClientsRequireSsl $true

The second issue I now have is the reverse of the above: an Exchange 2010 user is prompted for authentication to an Exchange 2013 mailbox. How do I begin to troubleshoot this problem - should I run the same command (above) on 2010? I don't quite understand how Outlook communicates with Exchange but I am thinking there is an incorrect setting on one of the Virtual Directories(?).

Maximum number of recipients per message

Hi,

i am trying to send a mail with about 500 recipients from Outlook connected with Outlook Anywhere to the Exchange 2013 Server. For each user i get an error saying mail could not be send - Error: [0x80004005-00000000-00000000].

If i send mails only to a few recipients it works with no problem.

I found the following limitations:

get-ReceiveConnector | fl identity, MaxRecipientsPerMessage

MaxRecipientsPerMessage : Default : 5000, other connectors : 1000

get-transportservice | fl PickupDirectoryMaxRecipientsPerMessage

PickupDirectoryMaxRecipientsPerMessage : 100

get-transportconfig | fl maxrecipientenvelopelimit

maxrecipientenvelopelimit : 1000

get-mailbox user| fl RecipientLimits

RecipientLimits : Unlimited

Did i missed something?

Exchange 2013 + 2007 OWA coexistance not redirecting properly (HTTP 400)

Hello.  I am using this document to funnel our new Exchange 2013 external traffic through an IIS ARR reverse proxy, much like we already do for MIcrosoft Lync 2013 on this machine.

I followed this guide to a T. especially the part on the page 2 that I linked above about creating the legacy.domain.com server farm and URL rewrite rule.  This IIS ARR proxy seems to work fine for Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync, OWA if the user's mailbox is on the Exchange 2013 server, but it does not work if an OWA user logs in with a mailbox on 2007.

When the user has a mailbox on 2007, after logging into OWA they get HTTP 400 error.  The URL bar in the browser is changed to https://legacy.domain.com/owa/auth/owaauth.dll

The Exchange 2007 server IIS logs show this:
70.x.x.x, -, 11/1/2014, 9:45:48, W3SVC1, MAIL, 10.1.1.3, 0, 523, 132, 400, 0, POST, /owa/auth/owaauth.dll, -,

I can't figure out why this is happening.  DNS is correct.  legacy.domain.com points to the 2007 Exchange server.  webm.domain.com points to the Exchange 2013 server.

Any ideas?

The setup is as follows

Windows Server 2012 R2 running Exchange 2013 CU5 - CAS Role
Windows Server 2012 R2 Running Exchange 2013 CU5 - Mailbox Role
Published via Web Application Proxy, using ADFS on Server 2012 R2


The problem

Browse to https://webmail.contoso.com/owa - log into OWA as myself this works fine - try and open another users mailbox that i have full access to, i get HTTP 400 bad request

If i browse to https://servername and perform the same procedure it works.   This leave me to the conclusion that the Web Application Proxy server / ADFS server is at fault

this KB article is not relevant in this instance, as I can resolve the names correctly;http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2770796/en-au

Any suggestions

My exchange 2013 displaying old OWA

I installed a trial version of exchange 2013 on 2012 r2 servers. After installation, seems everything runs well and the EAC page is in the Modern UI.  But the OWA still displays the old UI like in 2010, even though the OWA logon page is in Modern UI. I searched this issue but didnt find much useful info. The lab environment is new not hybrid with legacy versions of exchange. Can someone tell me why or give me any tips ?
