OWA is not working on my WINDOWS 8 machine, I receive this error each time: Uh-oh, something went wrong! Error Code: 500. This doesn't happen all the time just when I really need to check my OWA!!!
OWA on Windows 8
Exchange 2013 "Server Error in '/owa' Application" - System.Xml.XmlException: '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1
Out of nowhere...literally this started happening to our standalone Exchange server / Domain Controller
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard
Problem Child: Microsoft Exchange Server 2013
Error: When i try to login to the OWA or ECP i receive the listed errors above.
OS and Exchange installed on C:\
Mailbox Databases installed on D:\
Mailbox Logs on E:\
Outlook is still working for the end-user, but Outlook Web Access, ECP and all other features required to make this server manageable are failing. I can access the login screen, though at:
https://<servername>/owa
or
https://<servername>/ecp
I have tried reset of virtual directories. Tried IISRESET /NOFORCE after this, but no success.
Connect to Exchange 2013 using IMAP/SMTP from the Internet
Hello,
I would like to enable connectivity to my exchange server using imap and smtp. my exchange server is using the default configuration for imap and smtp which are port 143 and 25 respectively. I have two exchange servers both with CAS and MB roles installed. I also have an edge server on my DMZ. I have also published my OWA using IIS ARR module. I wonder where I should direct my traffic from my firewall to enable IMAP connectivity taking into considerations my two servers with CAS and MB roles are inside my network. I also wonder how I can enable redundancy for IMAP connections. Thanks a lot.

http 400 - bad request
The setup is as follows
Windows Server 2012 R2 running Exchange 2013 CU5 - CAS Role
Windows Server 2012 R2 Running Exchange 2013 CU5 - Mailbox Role
Published via Web Application Proxy, using ADFS on Server 2012 R2
The problem
Browse to https://webmail.contoso.com/owa - log into OWA as myself this works fine - try and open another users mailbox that i have full access to, i get HTTP 400 bad request
If i browse to https://servername and perform the same procedure it works. This leave me to the conclusion that the Web Application Proxy server / ADFS server is at fault
this KB article is not relevant in this instance, as I can resolve the names correctly;http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2770796/en-au
Any suggestions
Thank you.
Unable to search To-Do List
I have an issue where users cannot search their To-Do list using Outlook 2013 (15.0.4569.1503 64-bit) which are on an Exchange 2013 (v15.0.995.29). The users have no problem with using our terminal server which (due to other software requirements) is restricted to Outlook 2010 (14.0.7128.5000 32-bit). The versions indicated here aren't really that important, as our users have always had access to searching To-Do from Outlook 2010 through the many updates, but never on Outlook 2013 again through any updates.
As an aside, I have tried with the 32-bit version of Outlook 2013 and this did not work.
These are currently installed on Windows 8.1, but I have the same issue on Windows 8 and Windows 7.
I have rebuild search indexes on the exchange server. I have created new databases and moved the mailbox.
This is happening for all our users.
The MVPs over at Outlook suggest this is an Exchange issue. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Outlook 2010 - Could not connect to public folder server
Hi,
I just setup a brand new Exchange 2013 mail server. I get 'Could not connect to public folder server' in Outlook 2010 only and not in Outlook 2013. Is this normal? We are not using public folders at all and we don't have them setup in Exchange 2013.
Outlook 2010 -> sync issues ->
17:08:02 Could not connect to public folder server.
17:08:02 [0-0]
Outlook 2013 -> sync issues ->
Doesn't have 'Could not connect to public folder server' error.
Thanks
"Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."
Hello, one of our users is stating that when they make changes to meeting dates and/or times, a few minutes to a day later, the changes revert to the original date and/or time. Additionally, they will occasional also receive an email stating "Your meeting was found to be out of date and has been automatically updated."
This customer is on a Win7 client and running Outlook 2007. Both the OS and Office/Outlook are completely patched as of 08/12/2014. There are also a couple of iOS devices that access the Exchange account and both are running the latest version of iOS according to the customer.
The customer states that this behavior began immediately following our migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013 a couple of months back. I am not able to see any reason for this at the server level. We also do not currently have any other users complaining of the same issue. I am unable to replicate the issue using my account. I suspect that it is isolated to this single user at this point.
We are running Exchange v15, build 847.32.
Has anyone experienced the same? Thanks in advance for any input.
Reply to All adds me to the To: field
Dear,
We are performing the cross forest migration (Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013). It is observed that if user is going to reply all, then to adds sender to the To: field. This is happening for only old emails which are received prior to migration. There is no any issue with emails which are received once migrated.
How can i solve this problem ?? please help !!!! thank you ..
Outlook 2010 - Send Receive Hangs When Downloading The Offline Address Book
Hello There,
I have an issues where the Offline Address Book (OAB) will not download if I have a USB VOIP headset amplifier plugged in.
The amplifier we use is (Plantronics DA60):
I go to "Send Receieve" tab, "Send/Receive Groups", "Download Address Book...", Uncheck the "Download changes since last Send/Receive" box, and then click "OK".
The send receive box comes up and it hangs on "Copying offline address book template file".
If I unplug the amplifier the OAB will download with no problems. I thought it may be related to this Microsoft knowledgebase article: 2619347
Which recommends upgrading the devices driver; the issue is that it doesn't use a third party driver, it uses built in windows drivers.
Here is the response I got from Plantronics regarding the driver:
The drivers your Plantronics USB headset requires should load automatically when you plug the headset into your computer - no software is necessary. The drivers, which are native to the Windows operating system, are as follows:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\drmk.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\portcls.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\USBAUDIO.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SysFxUl.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WMALFXGFXDSP.dll
If you are missing one or more of these files, check your Windows installation CD or visit your computer manufacturer's web site, and then save them to the proper folder.
At this point in time I am at a loss for what to try next; any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Shane
Exchange Certificate Error... From DSL Modem?
Hello,
We have had a terrible time with certificate errors on our new Exchange 2013 server (exchange.company.com). We have certificates for exchange.company.com and autodiscover.company.com. We are now getting certificate warnings in Outlook 2013 that state the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site. At the top of the warning it says exchange.company.com. Makes no sense!
When I click on VIEW CERTIFICATE it says issued to/by hubrouter.westell.com. This is my DSL modem outside my firewall. Why is this occurring? There is an option to "install certificate" on the error in Outlook so I did this and pushed the hubrouter.westell.com certificate to all clients, no change.
Any suggestions on how I can resolve this? Is there a way to ignore hubrouter.westell.com? I really don't understand what is occurring and am running out of options. Do I need to turn off autodiscover by HTTPS and just rely on SVC records?
Thanks!
Mike
What is a TokenMungingException
Hello,
In an apptemt to move Exchange 2013 from Windows 2012 to Exchange 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2, I installed a new server, copied all settings and data over and most things appear to work fine including the web based Exchange Admin Center, however when trying to access OWA I get the following error:
X-OWA-Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Security.Authentication.TokenMungingException
X-OWA-Version: 15.0.847.32
Have done a few searches on Google, but can not figure out what this TokenMungingException is and how to fix it. Would anyone here be able to shed some light on it and possibly offer a solution on how to fix this?

in OWA, name resolution does not use Contacts
We migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
When I go into OWA, and starting a new email, I can type part of a contact name. I use Alt K and the name won't look in my Contacts to resolve the name.
I can type part of a name that exists in our global address list and use Alt K and the name gets auto populated.
Why isn't OWA looking at my contacts first to resolve names? In OWA settings, I have Contacts selected under E-Mail Name Resolution...When resolving names, check first in:
Email not leaving outbox
Just over the last few days I am finding that I have to create the same email twice and send both because the first one will not leave the out box. The first email I send first goes to italic then that goes off and it shows a document icon. If I create exactly the same email in the same manner it sends perfectly fine and shows me the envelope icon. I have read the other posts like mine and followed directions from the various pages but nothing has worked.
The only change in my computer was a windows 7 update. I even tried through 365 to repair the install.
My email is IMAP/SMTP. It is an Exchange email through Shaw cable.
I followed a link in these questions and did everything it said I was to do. I'm sorry I don't remember the link and it didn't help anyway, I do remember that it was dealing mostly with 2007 and 2010 Outlook. It told me to remove the .srs file which I did and rebooted the computer. Didn't help.
On my own I have repaired the installation of 365 and rebooted the system didn't help. I repaired the email file through File-Accounts-E-mail-Email name - and repaired, the test message sent by the program did send and get received. Tested my own emails again didn't work. Rebooted the computer no change Still have to double up on the emails.
I think I have found the problem but do not know how to fix it. In every email I write when I check the "Delay Delivery" it is always check marked and is always today's date at 5:00pm. I found this before and unchecked it but it seems to be a 'stuck' choice.
This morning I repaired the installation with the on-line choice, rebooted and it still does not work.
Thanks in advance

Test Exchange Connectivity - why is it pinging the wrong server?
When I run the Outlook Connectivity test using the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyser it passes every test until the final one: 'Testing the MAPI Address Book endpoint on the Exchange Server'. It appears to ping one of our Domain Controllers rather than the Exchange server. Is that why it's failing? If so, what setting do I change to make it ping the Exchange server instead?
Here's a snip from the final part of the test:
Port forwarding issue with SharePoint website and Exchange autodiscovery
Hi,
I have a SharePoint website which is hosted in my internal server ( App server ). The internal ip address is 10.x.x.213
I have used SSL certificate on the site. So I forwarded port on my Netgear router . Port 80 and Port 443 on the above server ip 10.x.x.213. And I was able to access the site from outside typing domain . ( i.e https://sub.mydomain.com )
Then I installed Exchanged 2013 on different server with IP address 10.x.x.216 .
So the autodiscover for the exchange was installed on Port 443.
But I can't forward 443 again on the router for the exchange server 10.x.x.216 .
Could you please tell me how should I configure this to get exchange ecp , owa and SharePoint website working from external.
If I forward 443 on 10.x.x.216 my exchange works fine from outside. Then my SharePoint website stop working.
I would appreciate your help and cooperation
Thanks

OWA calendar Items not showing up
After the latest cumulative update OWA calendar items aren't showing up. I don't use OWA that often so it's hard to determine when this happened so I am assuming that it was after the last cumulative update. Another coworker OWA errors out when he tries to access his calendar. Calendars work fine from Outlook.
any ideas?

OWA/ECP Custom Theme Exchange 2013
Hello,
I've read numerous posts on customizing OWA themes and currently have them in place in my 2010 Exchange environment. I've also used them in 2007 Exchange infrastructures. I've been trying to roll out a similar design in my lab before we go live with our 2013 migration but I have a few questions. I've read the tech net article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201700%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx) and found no issues with it. Everything works as it should. However, in my current 2010 environment, the paths to the image files are slightly different than they are in 2013.
The biggest problem is that I have to place the headerbgmain.png and headerbgright.png in the ECP folder (Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\ecp\version\Themes\Default) in addition to the OWA folder (Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\version\themes\default). If I don't do this, the header and the OWA logo won't match when switching between OWA and ECP. So this has worked since the 2010 release of Exchange. Not certain if this is supported or not.
Moving forward, how do I ensure that the two image files get propogated between OWA and ECP without a disconnect as the file path no longer exists for ECP and there is no documentation on how to go about doing this? I've got the OWA part working without any issues in 2010. Just not certain how to go about it in my 2013 lab and would like to know before I can go ahead with the migration. Thanks for any help!
