Messages hang upon send when sending to a distribution list

I personally have noticed that when sending a message in Outlook 2007 with an Exchange 2003 server, messages addressed to a DL can sometimes give the spinning donut. I'm in the process of moving mailboxes to Exchange 2010, and the load is rather light on 2010 at the moment. I have a couple of reports from the Outlook 2007/Exchange 2010 users that when sending messages to a DL, the message stays on screen for a minute or two before disappearing and sending. This seems like a global catalog issue. How do I begin to troubleshoot and improve the time it takes sending messages to a DL?

Exchange 2013 OWA - Display Name

Hi Folks.

We have here an Exchange 2013 Standard in a Windows 2008 R2 environment, almost all users connect to their mailboxes using OWA. Recently I've changed the "Display Name" field of an user (because it was wrong), but a few users that already sent e-mail to this user has the contact saved with the old display name. Is there an way to force all users to update the contacts to get the new display-name?

Thanks in advance!

Exchange 2007 to 2013 migration problems with outlook running on Windows server 2003 SP2

We are in the process of migrating from exchange 2007 to 2013. Coexistence is all set up, mail flow, migrations, all this is working fine. The issue is we are using Windows 2003 servers set up for use with Citrix. When we migrate a user mailbox to 2013, whenever Outlook (2010--latest patches) is launched we immediately get a "problem with the proxy server security certificate error code 0" error message and can progress no further.  We get this whether launching Outlook directly on the 2003 server or from the citrix implementation of Outlook.  That user can use any other desktop or OS and does not have any issues whatsoever.  I do not believe it is a cirix problem rather a OS problem running Outlook on a Windows 2003 server (SP2).  Anyone seen this issue or give me any troubleshooting steps.

Installed New-ExchangeCertificate, OWA no longer functions.

Hello,

A colleague of mine installed a new certificate overnight that they weren't supposed to on our CAS server.  This unfortunately broke access to OWA.  I had him remove the newly installed certificate and our original certs remain however we are unable to access OWA.  Restarting services did not resolve this issue.  Does anyone have any advice?  Thank you for your time.

Hi all

I have setup some resource mailboxes for some busines cars for sharing.

To inform the users about de law i have put in some additional Response.
The properties "AddAdditionalResponse" and "EnableResponseDetails" are both TRUE

The issue is like the follow:
When Outlook is in CacheMode everything works like a charm.
When Outlook is in NonCacheMode, the Body of the Accept/Decline Message is blank. The 3 lines of the AutoPreviev shows the first lines of the body.

Testet on 2 Exchange Servers with the same result. Testet on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013.

Put on CacheMode is not an Option because there is a RDS infrastructure.

Has somone a solution or a workaround?

We are running Exchange ond CU3 and SP1.

CANNOT ACCES EXCHANGE ADMIN CENTER (ECP) ON EXCHANGE SERVER 2013. GOT HTTP 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR

HI, I just installed Exchange server 2013 Standar SP1 on a windows server 2012.  I have 3 servers one is a Domain Controller, the other one has the MBX role, and the last one the CAS role,  first i installed the MBX and after the CAS role, i passed prerequisite check without any issue.  However when I tried access Exchange Admin Centre (ECP) at https:\\servername\ecp I got HTTP 500 Internal Server Error saying  "This website cannot display the page.  Most likely causes: 1. The website is under maintenance. 2. The website has a programming error."   I tried access ECP at https://localhost/ecp and I got the same problem.  Under either cases I was able to see the logon page of  ECP and I was able to enter my credential (e.g. domain\user name, password).  However I got HTTP 500 Internal Server Error at the next page.

I appreciate your help, on my case.

"Outlook.exe /resetnavpane" custom Search Folders and favorites *GONE*

Good Day.

I was tasked with getting one of our staff members to connect to exchange when they were Working from Remote. During my remote session, and the use of multiple sources and forums as to why his Outlook 2013 would only work in safe mode, even with all add-on's disabled, I used the above command.

Now before running this command, I backed up his .xml files in his appdata\roaming. To my horror, I watch all of his custom searches that he created disappear on ALL of his devices (including the RDS server). As it would turn out the command was sent to Exchange and not (just) his outlook. So here i am.
This occurred 3 days ago.

Resources I have:

1---I have an OST from a month ago, from a unrelated issue, but it is intact and can be read from one of those third party tools.

2---I have a backup of the exchange data store from 1 week ago, and will attempt to open a copy of his outlook file from a temp account. (I will update as this occurs)

3---I have a copy of his .xml, .srs, and his PB4S-Configuration files.

Please let me know if there are any suggestions as to where I can recover this information.

A list of users is maintained using a UG and this UG has been assigned "Send on Behalf" for a Shared Mailbox.

Somehow the "Send on Behalf" doesn't work. Is it possible to do it at the first place? If it can't be done, why?

Unable to delete email from Search in Archive

Hi

A little bit of a strange one.

Using Outlook 2010 (connected to Exchange 2013), if you search in your archive mailbox and try to delete an email in the result, nothing happens.

No error messages are displayed and the email just stays there.  If you open the email and press delete, it does delete.  If you find the same email in the archive mailbox and press delete it also works fine.

Has anyone any ideas why this would be?

Thanks

Andy

All sent emails stuck in either outbox for outlook, or drafts for owa on new Exchange 2013

Hi all,

I have started encountering this issue with "emails stuck in outbox", while setting up a new exchange 2013 server in my exchange 2007 enviornment. I have moved a couple of test accounts to Exchange 2013.

When clients try to send emails they get stuck in the outbox with no errors either in, outlook, the client computer, or on the exchange server.

It happens for all clients that are inside the network, or using OWA the emails get stuck in drafts. The same users connecting from out on the intenet via rpc over http are ok. i.e, if I run outlook 2010 from a 2012 Terminal server inside the network I get the issue. If I start outlook 2013 and use rpc over https it seems ok.

Our domain uses company.local internally, but I have changed all URL's to use the external uri of "company.com" and have a public cert on all these services that match.

the clients that have the isuse do not open any other email accounts, and I have tried specifying DNS servers in the DNS settings for the new 2013 server.

As there are no error messages I have no idea how to start fault finding this.

Any ideas anyone?

Search Folder does not search items in Deleted Items folder

Outlook 2013, Windows 7 running on Exchange 2013 (office365).

I create a Search folder with a simple criteria. "from xyz@abc.com". This search folder shows emails that meet the criteria and that are in inbox and any other folder that I have created myself but not when the Folder is a system folder. If I move one of these emails that match the criteria to Deleted Items folder, then that email is not shown in Search folder.

Can someone try this also and let me know if this issue is unique to me?

Microsoft Exchange Add-in causing outlook to crash

A company we work for all use hosted exchange 2010 mailboxs and outlook 2013. On four of the users machine there has been an issue lately were by they are unable to use the calendar in outlook 2013. Every time they go to add a something into the calendar outlook crashes. Disabling the Microsoft Exchange Add-in fixes the problem and everything including the calendar works fine.

After look round on the internet i cant find much at all about the Microsoft Exchange add-in. I wanted to know if it is going to cause them any issues in the future by having this add-in disabled and if so is there anything i can do to amend the add-in.

Thank you in advance.

Appointments sent externally appear as messages

No global settings have been changed to my knowledge but when calendar appointments are sent externally, the recipient receives them as emails - Exchange 2007 and 2013. Anyone seen this?

When resizing an appointment in Outlook 2013: The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Everytime I create an appointment in my Exchange 2010 calendar and try to resize it, I get the following error:

The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Of course it's not OK. :)

This is a Exchange 2010 calendar (running in cached mode), not a PST or archive. It is my actual calendar. The mailbox has been converted from Exchange 2003 to 2010 a while ago. I never had these problems in Exchange 2003.

I tried running Outlook /cleanreminders, but that doesn't help.

It also doesn't matter if Outlook is run in cached or non-cached mode.

What should I do?

No permissions to Save Calendar...

Hello All...

Am seeing an issue on our clients where users cannot save their Calendar in *.ics format. They open their Calendar, select File, Save As (Save is greyed out), and wherever they choose to save (Desktop, shared folder, etc.) they receive a message stating that "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the "username" folder, instead?"  They cannot save in this location, either.

I asked if GPOs might be at play, and our GPO Team said they looked for a policy that would cause this but didn't find one. I am thinking this may be something the Exchange Administrators need to look at... Can anyone provide some help with this issue?

Thanks!

Outlook Authentication Prompts

$

Having a lot of problems with Outlook 2010/2013 authentication prompts. Client is migrating from EX 2010 and going to onsite EX 2013. Both Outlook 2010 & 2013 get the prompts. At this point in the migration, all internal DNS records point to the load balancer which goes to the 2013 DAG environment. I have verified the Outlook Anywhere settings on 2013 about 100 times.

External Host Name and Internal Host Name are identical: mail.company.com

External/Internal ClientAuthenticationMethods NTLM

IISAuthenticationMethods {Basic, NTLM, Negotiate}

Require SSL is true for both External/Internal

I have tried many things already, but I am still getting prompted. However, when I modify the local Hosts file to point to Exchange 2010 directly (for those users who are still on 2010), I get no prompts at all.

I have also tried pointing the hosts file to the 2013 servers directly, bypassing the load balancer and the prompts still happen. So, it is not the load balancer.

Thoughts?
