Cheap - Trusted SSL for Testsite

$

Currently using godaddy UCC for real servers

I've setup "Play" site for Testing etc.

Looking for a cheapest way to have everything working.

Godaddy UCC is about £ 85 a year

are there any cheaper ones out there

I guess I need 2 subdomains mail.mydomain.com & autodiscover.mydomain.com

since its a play server I'm using own CA at the moment but would like no errors and nothing to import in mobiles.

Exchange Email Login !

Greetings,

A UAE company just opened an office in our country (Company.com), they are using Exchange 2010, so the HQ's IT team in UAE just created another domain for us to access our email which is(OurCompany.com), The IT Team instruct us to use OWA for the first time using:https://webmail.company.com/owa.

The username will be : user1@ourcompany.com / password: ******

So as you see, we are using their OWA (https://webmail.company.com/owa) to log into our domain(OurCompany.com)

FYI,

  • After logging into OWA successfully the email address that appears is user1@company.com as a sender email address not user1@ourcompany.comthat we logged in with !
  • User1 can receive emails sent to user1@ourcompany.com and user1@company.com,but he/she only can send and/or reply as user1@company.com.

Could you please explain this scenario ?

Thanks in advance.

Prevent Outlook from blocking image from a single source

$

Hi,

I know in outlook there is a setting to allow outlook to download all images in a html email to avoid that "click here to display images" button.

I would like to know if there a way to disable this security feature for only one server that is hosting the images. The server is internal, within the AD network, on the same domain as the exchange server.

The reason being, this server sends out html based campaigns and newsletters to the internal team only (no external sending), and we want to be able to have outlook create an exception for this server when it comes to blocking html content.

We can't whitelist the sender ID, because the sender email account is always different for different campaigns. We wish to just whitelist the server. Is this possible?

Outlook- Replying to sent mail containing BCC addresses

Hello All Once More!

I have a rather interesting question in which I sincerely hope someone could possibly provide some insight for me, recently I have upgraded my oragnisation to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2007.

It is all running in co-existence rather nicely. The only feedback I have had is from more of our active email users that report when they perform a certain function it no longer works. I will try to explain it as best I can.

Exchange 2007 Environment

User opens Outlook 2010 sends an email containing roughly 60 addresses in the BCC field. User then goes back to that message from their sent items and clicks on Reply to All and the message opens up with the original message text and all the adresses displayed correctly in the BCC field adds the text and sends the mail message.

Exchange 2013 Environment

User opens Outlook 2010 sends an email containing roughly 60 addresses in the BCC field. User then goes back to that message from their sent items and clicks on Reply to All and the message opens up with the original message text and all the adresses displayed in the BCC field are not populated. Is this the standard behavior for Outlook 2010?

Outlook client SSO - Resource Forest

OK, so we have an accounts forest (CompanyA.com) and a Resource Forest with Exchange 2013 which is hosted with a service provider (onthecloud.com).  The environment consists of 2 x F5 load balancer's, 2 x CAS / HT and 2 x Mailbox servers.

There is a one way trust between the Accounts Forest and the Resource Forest.  Just wondering if its technically possible to get SSO in this kind of setup (no basic authentication) without using ADFS?

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

POP works via localhost but not from other networked machines

Hello All

I have three servers in an Exchange 2013 DAG.  Lets call them EX2013-MB1, MB2 and MB3.

I have configured POP Across the board.  All of a sudden the other day POP stopped working on MB1.  After some troubleshooting, if I launch a telnet session to port 110 from MB1, it connects and works fine.  Any other machine, nothing, connection immediately drops.

I have the firewall disabled, so it's not the firewall blocking the connection by any means.

Any ideas?  Below are my Get-PopSettings, and Test-PopConnectivity

Exchange 2013 OWA Options

$

Hi,

In our organization, we restricted the access to the exchange admin console directory (/ecp) to internal network only.

Now, some of our users say that when accessing the "Options" in OWA from outside our network they get a forbidden access page.

I realized it makes sense that the page is blocked because when I go to Options in OWA the URL redirects to "/ecp/?rfr=owa" and from what I mentioned above I restricted the "/ecp" to internal network only.

Now, how do I work around this? I want to keep the restriction to the EAC but also let my users access the Options menu in OWA from outside our network.

Thanks in advance!

Calendar issue with OWA 2013 / Chrome

Hi there,

We recently experienced troubles using Outlook Web Access with Chrome (Version 38.0.2125.101 m), everything worked perfectly fine until last friday.

Since then, the calendar page shows an empty grid (even if user has upcoming events), and the user-list located on the left doesn't show.

A thorough check was made on users workstations: disabling chrome extensions, clearing cache and cookies, incognito mode test. Still the same

I wanted to join an example screenshot but it won't let me.

Available if any further info is needed to help me,

Best regards,

Benoît H.

OWA 2013 To Use Theme Similar To OWA 2010 Premium

$

We have migrated to OWA 2013 and some users are fine with the new OWA interface and some wanted the old OWA 2010 Premium interface (especially executives) is there a way we can use OWA 2010 Premium as a Theme in Exchange 2013 so users can choose a UI Preference. We added the OWA 2013 Light selection but doesn't served the requirement because of OWA Light email compose is in Plain Text we wanted OWA 2010 Premium to include HTML message formatting (Ex. Set fonts, size, color etc. Mailbox Paging, Select All Checkbox etc.)

Meeting request details sent from Office 365 are not visible to AOL (@aol.com) users

<p>When I send a meeting request from Office 365, either through Outlook 2010&nbsp;or OWA, to someone outside of our organization that uses AOL for email (<a href="mailto:xxx@aol.com">xxx@aol.com</a>), they are unable to see any of the details regarding the meeting if they are using the AOL online email interface. The subject shows up, but the date, time, location and notes are invisible to the recipient. If the AOL user happens to use Outlook as an email client, all these details are visible.</p><p>For external domains, TNEF is turned off for emails, but I'm not sure if that applies to meeting requests. </p><p>Is this problem a known issue with AOL? Mapi over HTTP issue

$

Hi all!

Hope somebody can help me out. In my test lab, where I`m experimenting with Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1 I came across very annoying thing.

Let me explain a little bit more about config that worked.

Outlook 2013 connected to Exchange 2013 via RPC over HTTPS is working great actually really great. I have created my own certs and imported ROOT CA cert to all of my machines and things are working peachy. As part of my plans for 2014 I have to test and deploy MAPI over HTTP sometime at the end of 2014 in our company (and migrate fromEX2007 but this is different story).

OK so I`ve enabled MAPI over HTTP on my test server and configured 5 virtual machines with different accounts to test things out. Started Outlooks, accepted "Your administrator has made change ....." prompts and here we go, I`m connected MAPI/HTTP and all works really great.

Except for one thing. When it does connect, things are super fast and it works as it should. But sometimes it does not connect right away and it is sluggish in performance. Also Outlook is missing "Quick steps" menu, see attached image:

I restarted all servers, clients, clean Outlook install nothing helps.

When RPC/HTTPS I could quit and start Outlook 10 times and it worked 10/10 without problems.
When MAPI/HTTP I restart outlook and it works 6/10, so 4 times I get messed up Outlook and very poor performance.

Any idea where to start troubleshooting? Maybe Outlook has a bug or 2 with this mode?
Server is correctly sized and backed up by enough of memory and CPU, mailboxes have 100-3500 items in them.
Again, RPC/HTTPS works every time without any problem.
MAPI/HTTP works lets say 6 times without any prolem at all and really works great but 4 times out of 10 it makes me want to throw it away :)

If someone knows best way to troubleshoot this one, please let me know.

Regards,

G

Can't view OWA email size

We have Exchange 2010.  Our OWA users are not able to see the size of emails easily.  We can sort by size...but in OWA 2003 the size of the email was listed by default.

Any ideas?

Thanks

All,

I was trying to populate Business 2 phone number in the address book from the active directory, I have read that if I added additional phone number in the general page it will do the work but it didn't work for me.

either this or if some one can help me changing the "Home" number display name like instead of showing it as "Home" I want it to be "Direct Line

Thanks"

Hi,

I have been trying to disable upload photo option for all user by using following command.

Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -id "owa (Default Web Site)" -SetPhotoEnabled $False

I have restarted server but still it does not take effect.  I do not want to use OWAMailboxpolicy since that needs to be added to each and every mailbox and keep adding it for new users.

Could it be a bug that changing OWAVirtualDirectory "SetPhotoEnabled" to false is not taking effect?

Thanks,

Raman

Setting Out of Office Greeting For Another User

$

0

A common problem - we have many users and as the administrator are often asked to set out of office greetings for users who are not at work but did not set their own greeting. We are using Exchange 2013. I know that I can go to the EAC - signed on as the domain/administrator - and then at the top right where it shows - administrator - I can use the drop-down to select - Another User. Then a window opens up showing at the top - domain/administrator is working on behalf of User Name. In this window it shows: Shortcuts to Other Things You Can Do. One of the options is - Set Up An Automatic Reply Message - easy enough.....one would think.

The problem is that some user mailboxes show this option and others do not. I don't understand why some show it and some do not. What setting determines if this option is available for a given mailbox?
