Unable to add multiple email addresses to a single email using OWA

$

I have had a very irritating problem using OWA. I never can seem to be able to send an email to multiple recipients if they already aren't in my contacts. I have been able to set up Groups, but this is a bit overkill when I'm just doing a one-off email.

When I copy and paste email addresses, I always get a window that pops up that tells me "Remove. No Match was Found," and I never can actually send them. In order to get this task done, I have to go into my own personal email account with Gmail. Of course, I'd love to use the OWA email account, which is a professional one. Can someone please walk me through the steps of doing this correctly?

How do I search the GAL by street address or zip code?

I can go into advanced find and search by city, office, company, etc. But there are no options for address, zip code or state?

Check names in GAL is giving an incorrect result when using international characters

Hi,

One of our customers has the following issue in outlook 2010 (in combination with Exchange):

When searching or checking names from the GAL using international characters or the same representative "normal" characters they don't have the same results.

For example the name Odian (Ødian) - Norwegian characterØ representing an o (like in olive).

When searching the GAL (or checking names) from outlook using the normal character "Odian" the result is for example 10 users, but not the one they are looking for. If they use the special character "Ødian", the result is 1 user, the one they were looking for, but not the other 10 users found earlier.

My first reaction was that this is normal behavior because the name for that 1 user in the GAL (AD) has the special character in it, and the 10 others have the normal character in it.

But apparently it's not normal behavior, because in another environment (completely different customer) I did the same test and there the result is always the same, using o orØ. I also did the test with other characters like e or é, a or à.

So it looks like some configuration can allow/disallow this. The problem is I don't know what is causing this:

-is it an outlook configuration?

- is it an exchange configuration?

- is it a Windows client configuration?

- Unicode?

- is it something else?

Any help would be very thankfull.

We have installed Exchange Server 2013 for test purposes. When accessing email via OWA we receive the following (attached) error. Any ideas what the problem could be?

OWA page comes up with no problems. After entering user name and password and time zone we receieve the attached error message.

Exchange 2010 OWA Proxying between CAS servers not working

$

I have to Exchange sites and 4 Exchange servers. 3 Servers at in Site A and 1 server is in Site B. In Site A the roles are broken out so I have a CAS, HUB, and DB server. In site B all roles are running on one server. I setup the DAG recently and that appears to be working without issue. I'm able to fail the database over and the Outlook MAPI connections keep working. However OWA is not proxying requests to the CAS server in Site B. I set Windows Authentication on the OWA virtual directory in both sites and that did not resolve my issue.

Both CAS servers have access to the internet and they currently have the same External URL set. The idea is, in case of a serious fail-over all I need to do is change a single DNS entry and people will be going into Site B. Site B does not have sufficient bandwidth so I do not want to use that server as an Active CAS server.

Calende issue

We have migrated two user mailbox from Exchange 2007 to 2010

There seems to be some sort of synching issue on calendar entries. If TM tries to organise a meeting on behalf of JM then the entry doesn’t come across on JM calendar but TM can view the entry on her machine accessing James calendar.

Also she has been experiencing delays in receiving emails and then all emails arriving in bulk.

Hello Everyone,

I installed a new exchange 2013 in Windows Server 2012, post which i can login to OWA and getting e-mails.

When i try to view the e-mail, it says "Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later"

When i try to compose an e-mail and click on send option it says "The message can't be sent right now. please try again later"

I verified authentication and IIS settings, but couldn't able to figure out what could be the problem.

Kindly share your thoughts.

CAS servers

I have a CAS server in my data center named sdcmail01.domain.dom. It has a certificate with an alternate name that includes it's netbios name and a public name that is not real. The domain registries no longer let you use alternate names for .dom, since it isn't real.

I am adding a second CAS server to the data center. I can no longer get a certificate with the alternate name to include my internal domain.

1. If I don't setup a CAS array, can I just configure outlook to connect to the CAS? or does outlook just randomly pick a CAS server in the the same site?

2. How do certificates work in a CAS array environment? Does the certificate need to retain the name of the individual server for which it resides, or does the certificate need to include the name of the CAS array?

Thanks

Exchange 2007 OWA Syntax Error

$

Hello,

Sorry I have posted it here but I couldnt find any other relevant forum for this...

We have a user and for some reason when they open some E-Mails it kicks up a Syntax error. The user can click on close and carry on however if you refresh the page it may go away or come back. I cant figure out why its only happening for this one user that I am aware of. The IE9 settings seem fine and I have compared them to another machine which works and I cant find any difference.

Does anyone know why this would be happening?

I will grab the error infomration when it next pops up and post it as its probably very useful.

Many Thanks

James

Outlook disconnects from Exchange 2013 several times an hour.

This problem only applies to outlook clients using RPC over HTTP. ActiveSync, OWA and EWS are working fine.

There is a problem with the RPC over HTTP tunnel on our server. Every 20-30 minutes, sometimes more sometimes less, but usually with in that 20-30 minute timeframe, the RPC over HTTP tunnel drops and all Outlook Anywhere clients get immediately disconnected. IT comes back up very fast and all clients reconnect with in a matter of seconds. Not a huge deal for people using cached mode outlook but all the non-cached mode people (Thin clients are an example are not using cached mode to save diskspace). People using non-cached mode would get a couple errors pop up and outlook stopped working.

The only relevant entries I have found in the exchange server event log are here. These same grouping of events show up everytime the RPC over HTTP tunnel shuts down and restarts. I just can't figure out why its doing it:
1-23-2013 9:21:18 AM RPC Proxy 4 (1)
-- RPC Proxy successfully loaded in Internet Information Services (IIS).

1/23/2013 9:22:41 AM WAS 5138 None
--- A worker process '75832' serving application pool 'MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool' failed to stop a listener channel for protocol 'http' in the allotted time.  The data field contains the error number.

1/23/2013 9:22:41 AM WAS 5013 None
--- A process serving application pool 'MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool' exceeded time limits during shut down. The process id was '75832'.

I have been searching for weeks on the problem and all I really have found is that the problem can sometimes be caused by RPC timeouts so I set the RPC timeout on the server to 120 seconds via the registry. That actually helped for about 5 days and then the problem mysteriously came back and I can not get it to go away even though the registry value is still set to 120 seconds on that RPC time out.

Does anyone else know of any thing else that causes this? Its Exchange 2013 on Server 2012 and is a pretty fresh install. Was setup in mid-December.

Outlook Anywhere refuses to connect prompts for credentials, event id 4625

Hello,

Thank you in advance for any help with this issue.

Have successfully setup Outlook Anywhere on Exchange 2010. Tested using the MS Connectivity Tester and everything is good. Using Basic authentication, as some users are not members of the domain.

I have one user who just cannot connect to OA. Just keeps asking for credentials. I have successfully added a profile to several test machines and can get OA to work for this user.

So this is obviously a machine related issue to his computer. My question is: What would cause this failure and why?

The event id is 4625

Cancel Pending Cert Request

$

Hi!

I have generated a wild card cert request for my Exchange 2013. The request is pending and i have already purchased a standard wild card certificate from Godaddy but when i entered the CSR on Godaddy website it says

The common name must contain only a single wildcard ("*").

I think i have done a mistake while generating the request in Exchange. I entered domain.com in CN instead of domain only. Can i just delete the Cert Request from Exchange or there is a procedure to cancel the request?

Now what is the proper way to generate a new certificate request for a wild card exchange cert?

Anu suggestions?

Thanks.

Create a client application using OWA

Hello All,

I want to create a custom client application to access mail from Exchange Server. (2003,2007,2010,2013)

Is it possible to do following things using OWA without using web browser?

1. Login / Logout

2. Get Mail List

3. Get Mail Body

4. Get Attached file.

5. Delete Mail

6. Search Mail

7. Is WebDAV support necessary to use OWA with XMLHTTP?

Outlook cannot open Default e-mail folders

$

I gave myself full-access permissions to a different mailbox. I then went and created a new Outlook profile on my machine so I could access that other mailbox. I was able to create the profile with no issue. But when I try to open this profile I get an error saying "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance."

I have recently created a DAG and a CAS array in the environment as well. I do not have any issues opening my own Outlook profile. I even deleted and recreated my profile and I was still able to access my own profile. I'm also not the only person this is happening to and I've tried giving myself access to multiple mailboxes and it does not work. Any ideas as to why this no longer works?
