Outlook 2010 IMCEAINVALID NDR with Exchange 2013

Hello All,

I have the following situation.

We have a hosted Exchange 2013 environment and the old Exchange was 2010. We are using Outlook 2010 fully updatet and we have a terminal server enivironment on Windows Server 2008R2.

Our Exchange servers are also updatet with the latest updates.

Couple of weeks ago a customer is migrated to our platform.

First we created all the users in our environment. For the migration I did a PST migration and used the Exchange Management Shell. On the server of the customer I did a export of there mail.

After the export was finished we uploaded the mail to our environment and did a Import of the PST files. Also through the Exchange Management Shell. This went all ok and we didn't had any issues.

I noticed the auto-complete list was also migrated and that gave a lot of issues when they tried to mail internal after clearing the Auto-Complete list the issue was solved.

But they have a appliciation called SAP and its there core business application for creating offers or invoices. They have a option which create a email and put it in drafts so the user can check the email and add a signature. Also the To: field is already filled in. When they send the email they get a NDR back immediately.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:    Oferte nav aanvraag IOTD - 29210

      Sent: 5/21/2014 4:22 PM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      External@external.nl on 5/21/2014 4:22 PM

Diagnostic code = OrNameUnrecognized; Reason code = TransferFailed; Status code = 510

            < #5.1.0 smtp;550 5.1.0 RESOLVER.ADR.InvalidInSmtp; encapsulated INVALID address inside an SMTP address (IMCEAINVALID-)>

If we delete the address in the to: field and put in manual it send the email. When they try the same address again already filled in it fails. When I check the Email Properties of the contact the only field that is filled in is Display Name.

After you send the email when the to: field is already filled and you check the sent email you see at E-mail type INVALID. Another user sees a whole different contact when see right click on the address and choose Contact Card. After deleting the contact that shows a different contact is displayed.

I created a test user and also with the test user, newly created, we have the same issue.

I have contacted the supportdesk of the application to ask where the contact information is stored. The contact information is created within the application and the only things filled is the customer name and email address.

I have been looking for a week now and haven't find a solution yet. Also i'm not sure anymore where to look is this Outlook related or Exchange or is it the application?

I hope someone can help me with this.

Kind Regards,

Mathijn

OWA brings up logon screen but after login gives http 500 internal server error

We have 2 Exchange 2010 servers that have been in place and working great for about 15 months.  We have 1 Windows 2008 Domain Controller and 2 older Windows 2003 Domain controllers.

Earlier today we had power go out in our area and so all equipment had to be shut down.  After power was restored I began to power everything back up.  I power on the DC's first and on down the line.  After powering everything back up I began to check everything.  Email works fine using Outlook but I noticed that I could not logon thru OWA.  I get to the logon screen fine but after entering my credentials I immediately get "HTTP 500 internal server error".  I don't see any errors or issues.  I don't know where to start looking.  Can someone help me out?  HELP!!   thanks

set different authentication mode for OWA (without 2 ip address)

hi

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/fda18a29-a484-4ed5-903b-aa06e8f7a032/set-different-authentication-mode-for-owa?forum=exchangesvrclients

Step 1: IP Address

Obtain a second IP address and add it to the NIC of your server.

Step 2: DNS

Add a DNS entry for That secondary IP address for the name we will want to use in the new FBA OWA Web site. I have chosen "testwebmail." Be sure there is a valid SSL certificate (recommended to have UC or SAN SSL certs) on the server Which has the new name "testwebmail" that will be used in the certificate.

Step 3: New Web Site

Create a new web site in IIS on the Client Access Server and bind it to the new IP address used in step 1.

Step 4: Adding Exchange Virtual Directories

The web site has been created and bound to the secondary IP address of our server. Also the DNS record That will be used to access the OWA FBA new page was added to DNS. The next step is to go into EMS and begin adding our virtual directories for OWA and ECP.

Login to the Exchange server and open the Exchange Management Shell. Then run Get-Get-OWAVirtualDirectory and ECPVirtualDirectory to see the default OWA and ECP directories.

New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://url/owa

New-ECPVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://url/ecp

Step 5: Configure the Virtual Directories

To configure the virtual directories we will disable FBA on the Default Web Site OWA and ECP virtual directories
New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "FBA"

Enable the Basic authentication via running the following command:

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "yourservername\owa (FBA)" -BasicAuthentication $true

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "OWA (Default Web Site)" -WindowsAuthentication $true -BasicAuthentication $false  -FormsBasedAuthentication $true

Step 6: iisreset

I want to set this settings; but I don't have 2 ip address and I want to set whit one ip address.

can please tell me how can set this settings with one ip address?

and please tell me about publishing whit tmg.

thanks

Securely Publish Exchange Without TMG & UAG

Q1:

What do you recommend for securely publishing Exchange 2013 OWA, Active Sync, Outlook Anywhere since TMG and UAG are no longer available???

Q2:

Is it recommended to publish the CAS server directly to the Internet???

We updated from exchange 2013 Cu2 to CU5 and we have a problem with a mailbox.

IN OWA we could log in and get the following error :

X-OWA-Error: SDServerErr;Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.StoragePermanentException
X-OWA-Version: 15.0.913.21
X-FEServer:
X-BEServer:
Date: 02/01/1601 15:09:16

IN Outlook :

The search is not working for that mailbox and we get errors like : operation failed when we try to move or delete an email.

Thx for the help

Mailbox remove process -> added calendar

Hi there,

We have a customer with a high flutuation of employees.
The employee had a lot of additional calender and mailboxes attached.
The mailboxes himself will be deleted after few months. Due compliance policys.

If we delete the user accounts but not the mailboxes himself, the outlook clients with the additional calendars and mailboxes will be freezed. Because they can't opened the mailboxes / calendar.

Is there a standard process for this scenario? Or a process / script for checking the whole domain for removing calendars / mailboxes from the users?

Outlook does not reconnect to correct server after failover

Using Exchange 2013 SP1 with Outlook 2010 SP2, some clients did not fail over their HTTP connections when DNS was altered for the Exchange SCP, trying to find the reason why or if this is a software bug.  Restarting Outlook ratifies this problem, autodiscover works as expected and DNS (including cache) on the client are showing the correct info (ie updated Exchange Server).

OWA Not Working

I'm trying to complete a migration from Exchange 2003 from Small Business Server to Exchange 2013 on Server 2012 (first attempt was on R2).  Currently I've moved over to Exchange 2010 SP3 on a Server 2008 R2 Server.  At one point, everything was working beautifully, until the attempt to move to Exchange 2013.

After scrapping the Server 2012 R2 Server and reinstalling Server 2012, giving it a new name, removing any entries pertaining to Exchange 2013 and installing a new Exchange 2013 I'm stuck.

Powershell works.

ECP works. (As long as I'm using domain\Administrator for log in)

OWA will no longer work organization wide.  When authenticating I'm getting the 500 error.

All mailboxes are still on Exchange 2010, I've created a test mailbox in Exchange 2013 ECP but I haven't attempted to connect via Outlook because of the OWA issues.

In the event long I'm getting Event ID 1310 pertaining to IIS and I believe that is where my issue lies.  I've tried creating a new certificate, I've tried recreating the virtual directories.  I will copy and paste the errors from the event viewer.  It looks like there is a file or instruction that cannot be found.  These are logged when a user tries to connect OWA.

OWA Exchange 2010 and 2013 Co-Existance

Hi All

I have 2 new Exchange 2013 Multi role servers in a test environment. I have setup the namespace's in the following way

Communcal OWA URL - exchange.domain.co.uk/owa

Server 2013 Boxes

OWA URL Internal and External - owa.domain.co.uk/owa

Server 2010 Boxes

OWA Internal - legacy.domain.co.uk

OWA External - legacy.domain.co.uk

Authentication on Exchange 2010 boxes is set to basic, form based.

Authentication on Exchange 2013 boxes is set to basic and form based.

When users hit are exchange.domain.co.uk/owa it is sent to 2013 servers. This we then want to process all requests and proxy connections to 2010. Accessing a 2013 mailbox is fine, however 2010 users just get the message, opening mailbox, it then sticks on Still Working on it for indefinite and never progress'.

Have tried removing the External URL from 2010 as I have seen suggested elsewhere but this makes no difference.

ECP address' match what OWA are and certificates include all 3 namespaces.

Many THanks in advance for any assistance

Jason

You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so. Please make sure you're sending on behalf of the correct sender, or request the necessary permission. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

I have a user that continues to get the error above when she tries to send an email from a shared mailbox, where she has been granted send as + full mailbox rights. I have tried to resolve the issue by re-creating the .ost file. However this only works for about 2 weeks and the error comes back. I have also deleted the OAB & cleared cache, however this only works for about 2 weeks before the issue re-appears. Has anyone out there experienced this before? Can anyone think of a solution to my problem?

Thank you

TD

Expired Certificate

Hi

One user in our organization is getting an expired certificate error message. He is the only one, regardless of which computer he goes to login. When I click to view on the cert it does show its expired. But we recently renewed and everyone is working fine except him.

What do we need to do so that his cert is renewed?

OWA on iOS account setup

Good day,

A quick web search shows that this has been an issue for well over a year now, but no resolution has been completed.

When setting up the account information in the OWA app, I enter my email address and password.  The next screen asks me if I trust a website that my account has been redirected to.  The only choices presented are "Close" or "No".  There is no "yes" option.  Any chance a solution to this problem will ever be implemented?

Thanks,

Jason.

Connecting a "Web Outlook" Account to an "Office 365" Account

I am currently experiencing what seems to be an interesting problem.

I currently have two email accounts with Microsoft. One is being used as an Outlook account, and the other as an Office 365 account. Further, the Outlook account is doubling as my Microsoft Account, which I use to log into my computer and my Windows Phone.

The issue is, they are the exact same email address. And I would like to connect/link them, or merge them in one way or another. My Office 365 account is where all of my emails actually go (Whenever I put my email address into anything, the emails get sent to this account), while the Outlook/Microsoft account shows all my text messages and whatnot. I would like one central place to see everything.

I have tried linking them normally, that is, trying to add a new "connected" account. However, when I type my email address, it says it is a proxy address linking to itself.

Furthermore, I attempted connected to it used IMAP and POP settings. IMAP gave the same error as above, and POP said my information was incorrect (It is NOT incorrect - I checked many times over, logged out and logged back in with the exact credentials - capitalization and everything.

Have I missed something glaringly obvious? Is there anything I can do to merge or connect these two accounts? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

XLSM files blocked through OWA even though allowed in virtual directory setting

I checked the virtual directory settings through powershell and xlsm files are in the allowed file types list.  We don't do the public/private setting so everyone connects through the public option.  I've tried adding the OWA URL to intranet and trusted websites.

The xlsm attachment icon is greyed out and I get the "Access to this attachment is blocked" message when clicking on the icon. What am I missing?

Hey,

i gues this is a fast to answer question, but i dont have an exchange on Prem available to verify it myself...

Is the connected accounts feature for users available to Exchange 2013 Sp1 on premise too, or is thsi only available in the online version?

Thanks and best regards
