Outlook Authentication Prompts

$

Having a lot of problems with Outlook 2010/2013 authentication prompts. Client is migrating from EX 2010 and going to onsite EX 2013. Both Outlook 2010 & 2013 get the prompts. At this point in the migration, all internal DNS records point to the load balancer which goes to the 2013 DAG environment. I have verified the Outlook Anywhere settings on 2013 about 100 times.

External Host Name and Internal Host Name are identical: mail.company.com

External/Internal ClientAuthenticationMethods NTLM

IISAuthenticationMethods {Basic, NTLM, Negotiate}

Require SSL is true for both External/Internal

I have tried many things already, but I am still getting prompted. However, when I modify the local Hosts file to point to Exchange 2010 directly (for those users who are still on 2010), I get no prompts at all.

I have also tried pointing the hosts file to the 2013 servers directly, bypassing the load balancer and the prompts still happen. So, it is not the load balancer.

Thoughts?

Meetings created after some time start shoing up "re-created a meeting that was missing from your calendar" with no body information e.g. Lync meeting

My manager is having a problem.  "randomly" reoccurring meetings in outlook will after some time start showing as this:

"Exchange 2013 re-created a meeting that was missing from your calendar"

With all the "meat" of the body is missing.

We are running Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013.  They look the same in OWA.  Meetings can be from different senders, different times etc.

Any thoughts?

Everytime I start Outlook 2013, my rules in OWA get re-ordered: Rules that only appear in OWA move to the bottom

Some of my rules only appear in OWA (in Outlook it says "There are rules created with a different version of Outlook or Outlook Web Access that are not shown").

That's OK since i don't want to manage my rules from Outlook at all- I prefer OWA for that so that my rules will be applied even if i use some other mobile client.

The problem is that every time i start outlook, it re-orders my rules so that the rules only OWA knows, move to the bottom of the list (as seen in OWA).

My rules depend on the order...

How do i get this mess fixed?

Thanks,

Yair

OWA - Adding Archive Calendar to List

$

In our environment we are using the Exchange Archive feature, and it is working great, however, from the OWA client users cannot see their Calendar items that have been moved to the archive based on our retention tags.  If they have the FULL Outlook client it works fine, however, due to security reasons we are not pushing out full outlook to computers and having our users just use OWA.  Does anyone have a fix/hack to add the ability to view the archive calendar inside of OWA?  It's the only piece of their Archive that users can't seem to access directly from OWA.

Thanks.

IMAP Credentials to Exchange

Hi all,

I'm trying to migrate an Exchange 2003 box to Office 365 via IMAP.

I enabled the IMAP service and  ran Test-MigrationServerAvailability -IMAP -Port 143 successfully.

However, I'm getting authentication issues.  After Telneting into the server I have ran the login commands with every possible credential combination I have seen IMAP responds to:

login contoso\user Password --> "Unidentifiable command specified"

a1 login contoso\user Password --> BAD Protocol Error: "Expected SPACE not found"

The one that seems to be pointing to the right direction is:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/189326/en-au

? login contoso/user/mailbox Password --> a1 NO Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password

Apparently, the convention is domain/user_name/mailbox_name Password --> But I'm having no love here :(

Thanks guys

Unbale to install November update on Outlook 2007 SP3 for connecting to Exchange 2013

Hi

I was trying to upgrade my outlook 2007 clients for connecting to Exchange 2013 environment. First I have installed Office SP3 (kb2526086). Outlook version after that is 12.0.6607.1000. Later I  tried to install nNovember 2012 update which is a prerequisite for connecting to Exchange 2013 clients (support.microsoft.com/kb/2687404/en-us) but it shows me a message "Expected version of the product was not found on the system". No idea  how to proceed now, expecting help.

Outlook asks for credentials 2 times

Hello,

I'm in the middle of a transition from SBS 2011 to 2012 R2. Currently Exchange 2010 and 2013 co-exists. Every time I start Outlook (2013)  it asks for credentials. If I use user@domain.local format it does not accept. If I use domain\user format, I have to enter it 2 or 3 times, then Outlook works fine.
OWA, AS, mail flow seems to be working.
What can cause the password prompt?

TIA

Why won't subfolders populate with messages in Outlook 2013 (only on one account)?

I just migrated 8 users from Gmail to Office 365 Online Exchange.  Everything went swimmingly well for all accounts except one.  Strangely, the accounts with unbelievably large folders and subfolders had no problem populating their users Outlook 2010 and 2013 installations.  Just this one account with very little email but some nested subfolders beneath the Inbox is having problems.  I used the built-in migration tool in Office 365 with success in all cases.  However, although this user has access to all her email when logged into the portal, nothing I do seems to get email into those subfolders in Outlook.

Here's some things I've tried.  I've tried exporting to a .pst file in the Gmail account.  Unfortunately the .pst file has no messages in the subfolders (I seem to remember this as a feature of gmail imap.) I've tried moving the messages in the Inbox (it's pretty little) into a subfolder online and moving the subfolder messages down to the local PC through the inbox.  The messages came down to the inbox but disappear when I try to move them into the subfolder!  I've not only recreated the profile but I just added the profile to my own office PC running Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2013 and am getting the same result.

There must be a way to do this.  I'm embarrassed at the moment and hope someone can help!

All the databases has been set to the  CAS array name in the server . Kindly suggest me to proceed further to resolve this issue .

HI,

I have a small 50 user exchange server 2013 that was upgraded from exchange 2003. I uninstalled 2003 to update the schema and this allowed me to install exchange 2013.

The issue i'm facing is, OWA works perfectly and mailflow is ok, but the outlook clients can't connect, auto-discovery works well because the establish connection and search for address are check off bu fails on the logon server with a GUIID {GuID@domain.com} as the server name and a mailbox with =SMTP:user@domain.com

I cant figure out what's wrong, I can't enter the server netbios or dns name, I still get server not available

I would like to configure my supervisor's calendar so that we both receive an e-mail alert when a calendar item is added or modified on my supervisor's calendar.

We use Outlook 2013 (Microsoft Exchange).   I am already set-up as a delegate with full rights.  Please note that this is when I add a calendar item that is not a meeting invitation.

Hi,

I've setup new Exchange 2013 platform and all working brilliantly, the only issue so far is getting Outlook 2010 to connect via Outlook Anywhere, 2013 are working fine and I've upgraded Outlook 2010 to latest version (14.0.7128.5000).  I wonder if anything with negotiation on CAS Outlook Anywhere?

ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Negotiate
InternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
IISAuthenticationMethods           : {Basic, Ntlm, Negotiate}
XropUrl                            :
ExternalClientsRequireSsl          : True
InternalClientsRequireSsl          : True

Not sure if barking up the right tree!

Not receiving emails from only a few of our business clients - Can't locate problem

$

We're set up on the online Exchange server for our organization and have been for almost 2 years.  Everything appears to be running fine except we've now received reports from a few of our customers that they can receive our emails but when they "reply" or send us a new email from their accounts we do not receive them. They do not receive undelivered email notices on their end but they don't show up on our end.   One of the companies is actually our accountant and we tried to trouble shoot it with them a bit but we can't locate the variable that might be causing their emails to not come through on our end.   We send them an email. It shows up on their end.  They reply from their end and it doesn't show up on our end. They've checked their spam settings and blocked email list and none of our email accts are blocked on their end.  I've checked our spam settings and blocked email list and none of their accts are blocked on our end.  They are able to send emails through to my own personal account that is not on our exchange server. I have 3 other customers who have reported this problem to us and who knows how many others that have not reported it.

Where else could I try and locate the source of this issue?

In a Multi-Tenant setup ABP applied for OWA, but Outlook users see all address lists and the default GAL.

$

Its Exchange 2010 SP3 with a multi-tenant setup. If user logs in on OWA, ABP is applied fine, only the user's tenant GAL and tenant address lists are available. If this same user logs in on Outlook, all the Address Lists and the Default GAL is visible, that is, the security boundary is broken.

This is true regardless of outlook is in cached mode or not, downloaded an OAB or not.

Thanks for any advice.

OWA shows wrong charsets in input fields on logon page

Greetings, community!)

When I try to access Exchange 2013 OWA from mobile browsers (Android, iPhone, etc.), I see something wrong on logon page. THe disclaimers in the input fields are shown in wrong codepage. It shows in grey-colour: па&#1088 and so on.

What could be wrong?

OWA and IRM

Outlook (2010 SP2) and OWA (Exchange 2013 CU5) have different behavior when viewing a message secured with AD RMS.

I have enabled IRM successfully for internal use.  Viewing secured messages via Outlook works as expected.  The issue is when I view the message via OWA, I can see the body content.  The content is not protected, only attachments are protected.

A message that is intended to be protected but without attachments can be viewed via OWA even if it has been set to expire.  Viewing the same message in Outlook is prohibited, as it should be.

This seems like a bug since a user can get to secured content simply by using the web browser.  Is there a way around this or is this by design for some reason?

Can someone confirm that this has been broken in SP1 or do I have a misconfiguration on my servers?
