New-Owavirtualdirectory Exchange 2013

Hi,

I have lost my OWA Virtualdirectory and I get error when I created new one:

Outlook2013 connection status "Exchange Directory" keep being "disconnected".

I migrated my exchange 2010 to 2013, then move several mailbox to 2013 mailboxdatabase.

Mail flow works fine, just I noticed that outlook 2013 client got this connection status issue only.

outlook 2010 is totally fine. Any idea?

I have MS Exchange 2007 - 2013 CU3 coexistence at two sites connected by VPN link. 

OWA and Outlook work fine for mailboxes on 2007 server. OWA does not work for mailboxes on 2013 server, however Outlook connects fine to any mailbox on 2013 server.

Here is what happens with OWA.

Users (Moved from 2007 or Created on 2013) can log in to OWA and see their mailbox folder structure and messages, but when they click on any email they get "Error: Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later. " instead of the message body. When they try to create a new message via OWA, GAL lookup does not seem to be working, everyone gets "Error:The message can't be sent because at least one recipient isn't valid."

I can't see any errors in the application event viewer that get logged during OWA session.

HTTP Log has the following error codes: 241,242,302,401,403,405,500.

I am not sure at this point, but I think 405 is the HTTP error that can be associated with errors displayed in OWA

My Outlook 2013 was purchased from Microsoft in Sept of 2013.  It just stopped working this last week, and says it needs to be reinstalled.  The program was downloaded so I do not have a disc.  What do I do?

Error proxing from OWA 2013 to Mailboxes in 2010

We have a problem about the Exchange 2013 OWA accessing to a mailbox in Exchange 2010, if the mailbox is in 2013, the OWA works like a charm, but if I use another user mailbox that is residing in 2010, appears a screen shows me that something gone wrong, but does not shows more details, I searched in the application viewer, Exchange management, system, the IIS log in CAS and Mailbox of 2013 and 2010 and there's nothing correlated to this issue.
The servers are Exchange 2010 Sp3 last CU, Exchange 2013 CU5, the schema and domain are in 2013 CU5.
This problem presented previously with Exchange 2013 SP1 (CU4), so I update the Exchange 2013 to CU5, but the problem remained, so I think that the issue is not in the Exchange

Is there some thing that I can enable to try to get a detail or clue for this problem? because in any place there are not a error code or something else to dig

I saw another sites that describes a problem about the canary, but this is not the issue
I saw other about problems to open another user mailbox, so that neither apply to this situation

In the ADSIedit, I saw the info in the picture.

All the configuration  and modifications are writen to CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYD...), and the other I think that came from another previous update, I'm afraid if I delete that subtree can be worst for all the Exchange organization or may be not. But I not sure if that can be the issue.

The CN=Primera Organizacion has not subfolders

the name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match

the name of the site. i can connected but get message , how to fix his ?

this error suddely happen before  3 weeks working fine

Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2013 Outlook Anywhere

Hi,

I've setup new Exchange 2013 platform and all working brilliantly, the only issue so far is getting Outlook 2010 to connect via Outlook Anywhere, 2013 are working fine and I've upgraded Outlook 2010 to latest version (14.0.7128.5000).  I wonder if anything with negotiation on CAS Outlook Anywhere?

Exchange 3013 SP1 OWA copy-paste

Hello. We have Exchange 2013 SP1, and some users use OWA instead os Outlook. They are using windows 7/8.1 fully update with IE11. When they try to copy-paste a screen shot to an email in OWA the can't. Paste is disabled. Using Firefox they can paste but the recipient receives a part of the screenshot. Using Chrome copy-paste works fine.

Is it possible not to be able to use IE with a microsoft product? Is this a known bug? Any solution or a possible date?

iOS OWA fails after password change using Outlook in Office 365

Using OWA on ipad running latest iOS.  Outlook is in office365 running hybrid mode with our on premises exchange 2010/AD 2010

When I change my password, OWA for ipad stupidly just continuously fails to connect.  No prompt for a password, nothing.  there's no setting I can see to re-enter credentials, so I'm forced to go into the application settings and wipe everything.  once that's been done and I re-enter my details everything works as it should until my next password change.

Nobody else seems to be complaining about this though?  Is it just us?

As is, it's not an experience I can recommend to our general population!

additional: seems this is not just OWA for iPad.  standard iPad email seemed to do it last time too.

Search folders in shared mailboxes

Sorry to ask here, but no-one knows on the exchange online 365 forum.

How to make a search folder for a shared mailbox? Don't mind if I make in outlook client or exchange online.

I don't mind if its visible in OWA (although that would be nice) as long as its visible in outlook.

I was wondering about making the mailbox the default mailbox for a user, opening the account as exchange account in outlook and seeing if I could make a search folder that way. Would that work?

OWA on windows 8.1 appears incomplete

Bought this computer about a year ago with windows 8, updated to windows 8.1. This is a personal computer that I use for business e-mail.

The company I work for uses Outlook Web Access for e-mail.

I somehow was able to get OWA on the computer, not sure how it was done. The issue is it does not seem complete. When I look at the screens of other coworkers using the same server they are different.My menu on the left has three options: Mail/Calendar/Contacts; there is the usual list of 'deleted item', 'drafts', 'inbox', 'junk' and 'sent' folders beneath this and the choice of folders beneath these. When I go to 'manage folders' my only options are: 'create new folder', 'rename folder', 'move folder' and 'delete folder'.

For one thing I cannot change the contacts within a distribution list, the options for this just aren't there.

I don't know if OWA is supposed to be an app, a stand alone program or is part of windows 8.1. It is frustrating to use this as I can't manage the files as I used to when I was using XP with OWA.

I have asked the IT person for the company I work for for assistance. He apparently is not familiar with 8.1. If I have to I will keep asking him for help on this, he is 3000 miles away and the timing is never right.

I have all the updates I know of installed for the OS and IE.

Any ideas on what my next step should be?

Hello everyone,

I have read a lot of subject on technet forums and others but I don't find the solution to my issue.

So I explain my problem:

I have 2 different clients with Exchange Server 2013 Standard installed on a Windows Server 2012 Standard that have the message that ask to restart outlook. I try to install SP1 on one of my client but without success. So I let the second one in CU3.

The message appears on Outlook 2013 and 2010. Some have cache enabled and other not.

I try to recreate profile, change different settings, delete OST file and recreate it, enable and disable cache,...

There is no cluster, no load balancing and no replication between different exchange servers. 

This message appeared without I make changes. (It started approximately at the same time for the 2 clients).    

I have other client in the same configuration that has not this message.

OWA delete links on image

Hi all,

i have to make emails for my company. That they open with OWA.

This emails have images and some links on this images with "shape=Rect" that each Rect have a link.

If i open the email with Outlook 2010, i can see the links over the image, and click on the link, but if i open this email with OWA, the email only show the image but any link.

Outlook 2011 for Mac - No Reply Arrow When Replying From A Delegated Mailbox

Hello,

I previously posted this in the 'Outlook for Mac' forum but was asked to move it (http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/d8912456-1e00-4b30-af17-13d150a88ea5).  Perhaps someone here wouldn't mind trying to create the same behaviour in their environment...


Our Outlook for Mac 2011 users open shared mailboxes which they have Full Access to by adding them to their 'People I am a delegate for' list.  The shared mailbox contents appears and the Mac user can reply to emails but the expected purple reply arrow is not shown.

Checking the same mailbox in OWA the reply arrow also does not show.

Replying to a message from OWA will create the arrow and this will display in Outlook for Mac though.,

All mailboxes are on a single Exchange 2010 SP3 infrastructure.  We have tested with multiple Macs with multiple mailboxes and all seem to be effected.

Can someone else with a similar setup add a delegated mailbox and confirm that their reply arrow get's created correctly please?

Sharing Junk Mail folder?

I'm looking for a way to configure outlook to share my Junk Mail folder with my assistant. I get too many junk emails to turn off the junk mail folder completely, but I also get too many emails that land in the Junk Mail folder when the shouldn't. I would like to share this folder with my assistant so that she can go through Junk Mail each day to make sure I haven't missed anything important. I've found a way to share my Inbox, but I don't want to do that...I just want to share the Junk Mail folder. Any way to do this?

IMAP Credentials to Exchange

Hi all,

I'm trying to migrate an Exchange 2003 box to Office 365 via IMAP.

I enabled the IMAP service and  ran Test-MigrationServerAvailability -IMAP -Port 143 successfully.

However, I'm getting authentication issues.  After Telneting into the server I have ran the login commands with every possible credential combination I have seen IMAP responds to:

login contoso\user Password --> "Unidentifiable command specified"

a1 login contoso\user Password --> BAD Protocol Error: "Expected SPACE not found"

The one that seems to be pointing to the right direction is:

? login contoso/user/mailbox Password --> a1 NO Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password

Apparently, the convention is domain/user_name/mailbox_name Password --> But I'm having no love here :(

Lync 2013, Exchange 2010 OWA integration with .net framework 4.5.1?

Environment:

Windows Server 2012 R2 running Lync 2013 - latest CU

Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 running Exchange 2010 SP3 - latest RU

Trying to configure OWA integration with Lync, but .net framework 4.5.1 is installed, and it seems that it is incompatible with some of the hotfixes that need to be installed for this integration to work. For instance the UCAMRedist says it is for the wrong server verison, and unpacking the CWAOWASSPMAIN does not unpack the donnetfx35setup.exe fix. Is Lync integration with OWA only compatible with .net 3.5 and 4.0?

Outlook asks for credentials 2 times

Hello,

I'm in the middle of a transition from SBS 2011 to 2012 R2. Currently Exchange 2010 and 2013 co-exists. Every time I start Outlook (2013)  it asks for credentials. If I use user@domain.local format it does not accept. If I use domain\user format, I have to enter it 2 or 3 times, then Outlook works fine.
OWA, AS, mail flow seems to be working.
What can cause the password prompt?
