Setting user configuration in a domain environment

Running SBS2011 / Exchange 2010. Clients are on Office 2010. GM wants all users to have Outlook formatted the same way. I've pulled down the admin templates, but they don't really address the settings we are after:

1. There is a custom address book that lives in the public folders. It is configured individually as an outlook address book and set as the default address book for Outlook.

2. There are 4 users whose calendars are visible to everyone. They are set up in Outlook as a group calendar. The individual user's calendar is unchecked.

3. Both the address book and the calendars have a custom view.

The GM wants new users or users who log into a computer for the first time to have these options and views set as default. He would be even happier if they could be locked so no one could change them after initial setup.

Any ideas?

Outlook 2010 IMCEAINVALID NDR with Exchange 2013

Hello All,

I have the following situation.

We have a hosted Exchange 2013 environment and the old Exchange was 2010. We are using Outlook 2010 fully updatet and we have a terminal server enivironment on Windows Server 2008R2.

Our Exchange servers are also updatet with the latest updates.

Couple of weeks ago a customer is migrated to our platform.

First we created all the users in our environment. For the migration I did a PST migration and used the Exchange Management Shell. On the server of the customer I did a export of there mail.

After the export was finished we uploaded the mail to our environment and did a Import of the PST files. Also through the Exchange Management Shell. This went all ok and we didn't had any issues.

I noticed the auto-complete list was also migrated and that gave a lot of issues when they tried to mail internal after clearing the Auto-Complete list the issue was solved.

But they have a appliciation called SAP and its there core business application for creating offers or invoices. They have a option which create a email and put it in drafts so the user can check the email and add a signature. Also the To: field is already filled in. When they send the email they get a NDR back immediately.

If we delete the address in the to: field and put in manual it send the email. When they try the same address again already filled in it fails. When I check the Email Properties of the contact the only field that is filled in is Display Name.

After you send the email when the to: field is already filled and you check the sent email you see at E-mail type INVALID. Another user sees a whole different contact when see right click on the address and choose Contact Card. After deleting the contact that shows a different contact is displayed.

I created a test user and also with the test user, newly created, we have the same issue.

I have contacted the supportdesk of the application to ask where the contact information is stored. The contact information is created within the application and the only things filled is the customer name and email address.

I have been looking for a week now and haven't find a solution yet. Also i'm not sure anymore where to look is this Outlook related or Exchange or is it the application?

I hope someone can help me with this.

OWA randomly prompting for credentials when user opens attachments

Hello,

I have two Exchange 2013 server set up in High Availability configuration, and suddenly two days ago a single user started complaining that (sometimes and randomly) when he goes to open an attachment in OWA a new window opens and he is prompted for his login creds.  It doesn't seem to matter which database is active at either site and of course every time I test it using his account, the problem doesn't happen.  Anyone got any ideas as to what is going on here?  I can't find any information about this issue relating to Exchange 2013 on the Internet.  Webready Document Viewing is enabled on both servers.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Exchange Auto Mapping

We run Exchange 2010 SP3 on prem (with Outlook 2010 and 2013), we have started experiencing auto mapping problems since we applied Rollup 6. It is affecting an increasing number of clients as well.

The main issue is that some users who had previous access to Shared Mailboxes working just fine have now "lost" access to the shared account folders. Outlook simply displays the client's personal folder structure instead of the folders belonging to the Shared mailbox. Properties of the Shared account Inbox actually point to the person's email address, not the shared mailbox one.

All attempts at remedying the situation failed, including recreating the profile, setting up on a new computer, cache vs non-cache mode. Even giving access to the Sahred mailbox to a new user will result with the same problem. The auto mapping attributes (msExchDelegateListLink and msExchDelegateListBL) check out fine as well. At a loss with this one. Note that the shared accounts are fine, accessing them via OWA for instance works just fine.

Finally, I noticed that auto mapping for our Outlook 2013 clients has stopped working altogether. Can this be related?

Microsoft Outlook 2010 email stuck at outbox, the mail will successful send out after you restart the outlook

Dear Mdm/Sir,

I've a problem on Microsoft outlook 2010 with service pack 2.

Sometime it cannot send out email, the email will stuck at outbox.  It only work after you restart the outlook and resend.

I've add the 2 email account into this Outlook profiles and running at Windows 7 professional Operating system.

I've try run the Outlook into safe mode, but it can't solve the problem too.

I also create a new email profile and user profile, but still cannot solve the problem.

Outlook 2013 crashes when searching in the calender

I have 6 systems that I built and installed for a client.  All systems are identical & running Windows 7 Professional.

On 2 of the systems I have installed Office Home & Business 2013 and on the other 4 I have only installed Outlook 2013. Email is running on a MS Exchange server. The client is using a shared calendar among the users and on one of the machines there is an issue when trying to search through calendar entries.

On this one machine when the user searches for entries on the calendar there are times when outlook will crash and restart. There are other times when the search works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook, deleted and shared the calendar again and still have the same problem.

It's critical that I get this problem resolved being the system that this client uses with the shared calendar is something that they use on a daily basis throughout the day.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Outlook IMAP client hangs when Downloading Folders

Hi

I have 2 users who are using Outlook 2010 with several IMAP accounts from a hosted provider. Now 2 users who share same email box are having major performance issues with Outlook client as it hangs indefinitely when trying to "download folders".

I need the users to retain the shared folders as they operate what is in effect a "helpdesk" so old messages being stored and accessible is essential. How can i stop the hanging issues?

OTP Solution for OWA

Hi,

We want to implement a One Time Password (OTP) solution with SMS passcode in front of our Exchange OWA interface.

However we couldn't find any development documentation on how to customize the owa login interface or developing ISAPI filter to accomplish such a task.

Any help is appreciated.

OWA the page can't be displayed

Hi,  i've Exchange topology (upgraded from 2007 one server)

2 CAS servers NLB with VIP 172.16.0.98

2 MBX Servers DAG with DAG

using Cisco ASA NAT public IP for example 9.9.9.9 ....> 172.16.0.98

i've created split DNS zone for public domain in internal DNS to unify URLs internal and external Mail.Domain.Com

i've created internal zone called Mail.Domain.Com and Autodiscover.domain.com point to VIP 172.16.0.98

Everything is OK but sometimes users report when they access OWA from inside or outside when user submit user/ pass faced error  the page can't be displayed?

i tried this this user from different browsers and different computer the same issue 

if i tried another user from the same computer it works fine

the strangest point after 30-60 minutes it backs to live and everything going fine

i checked event viewer there is nothing related to this issue.

in sometimes if i tried to access manual to CAS1.Domain.Local / IP address/ owa it works fine.

 URL changes to https://Mail.Domain.Com/owa/auth.owa

i red some about putting my public domain as remote domain but it's not clear !

any ideas please?

Hello :)

I have a question about the problem I have. In our office we use MS Outlook with Exchange Server. It works fine, well, only if I'm in the office. But I cannot use MS Outlook at home or anywhere else. At the same time, I don't have any problems fetching my messages from my android or windows phone device. Do you have any idea why I don't have access?

Outlook limit on display Team calendars

Program: Outlook 2010 / 2013

Feature: The automatically created calendar group "Team <Manager name>", that is generated on basis of Active Directory attribute "manager" each time Outlook starts.

When the manager has 50 or less employees, Outlook will automatically generate a "Team <manager name>" calendar group. When the manager has 100+ Outlook stops to generate the list / show the list. 

What is the precise limit, before Outlook stops to generate the list? 

Can it be raised?

Exchange OWA/Activesync conflicting with RD Gateway role

I've been bouncing my head over the following issue the last couple of days

I currently have the following set up:

I have a windows server 2012 with microsoft exchange 2013 CAS Role, RD Gateway, RD Web roles.

When I assign my domain certificate to the RD Gateway role it adds a new binding to the "Exchange Back End" website port *:443. This conflicts with the "Defauly Web Site" and stops the "Exchange Back End" website.

If I keep the 443 binding on the "Exchange Back End  website, OWA/Active sync dont work, but the RD Gateway is reachable externally.

When I remove the 443 binding from the "Exchange Back End" website, OWA/Active sync works again but the gateway isnt reachable externally.

Does anybody know a solution to this problem, so that both my Exchange servers is reachable and my RD Gateway functions properly?

Book a meeting room through the approval of dedicated person Restricted

Hi experts,

need help for the subjected line.my scenario is that whenever someone request a booking room/resource ,it's request must go to a dedicated person's email and then by approving he can get notification of booking.

No one can book the resource without the approval of dedicated person.

please let me know how to do that.

Outlook Delegate via Powershell (Exchange Online)

I'm trying to set a delegate for a mailbox via powershell in Exchange Online (Office 365), but the delegated user does not receive the "Meeting Accepted" messages. I've tested it with my account, and I don't get the meeting accept messages.

I've read that the ResourceDelegates parameter for Get-CalendarProcessing is only for resource mailboxes, yet when I set the delegate as Editor on the Calendar and give them GrantSendonBehalfTo, it updates the ResourceDelegates to that user. 

All of that aside, the fact that I got this to work before but I can't now is driving me absolutely insane. I know that you can set the delegate within Outlook, and then set it to forward the meeting messages to the delegate, but I can't seem to get it to work via powershell. Help?

EWS Pull subscription GetEvents often slow and gets stuck

Hi,

I have a problem with GetEvents that I find strange and very worrying.

Our client creates a pull subscription (either a new one, or by specifying and old watermark in case of subscription timeout) and every few minutes calls GetEvents to receive changes to the folders in the subscription. Since this is a mobile client, there is a possibility that the client may be inactive for several hours or days between GetEvents. For the most part, this works; clients synchronize the contents of the folders. One problem I have is GetEvents does not return the maximum number of events per call, making it necessary to call GetEvents many times until all the events are received.

Getting this error when trying to load up Outlook 2013 with my work exchange account. It used to work, but suddenly doesn't any more and my admin tells me the account settings haven't changed at all.

Tried deleting and recreating the account.

Tried repairing using scanpst

Tried recreating the .ost

Uninstalled and reinstalled

Tried going into the folders and manually deleting the files and recreating them


Any advice?

Certificate Errors

Hello, 

I have Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2013 clients. I recently purchased and applied a godaddy cert for Exchange 2013 using the mail.domainname.com. After getting proxy and cert mismatch errors I found the solution to changing the virtual directories to the https://mail.domainname.com instead of it pointing to the .local name. The proxy error has now gone away but I am still getting the error below: The blacked out area is servername.domainname.local. I have done the Test email configuration on the client and do not see any reference of the domainname.local. The only place I see .local referenced is under the ECP Sub URL as seen in pic below. Please help?
