OWA the page can't be displayed

Hi,  i've Exchange topology (upgraded from 2007 one server)

2 CAS servers NLB with VIP 172.16.0.98

2 MBX Servers DAG with DAG

using Cisco ASA NAT public IP for example 9.9.9.9 ....> 172.16.0.98

i've created split DNS zone for public domain in internal DNS to unify URLs internal and external Mail.Domain.Com

i've created internal zone called Mail.Domain.Com and Autodiscover.domain.com point to VIP 172.16.0.98

Everything is OK but sometimes users report when they access OWA from inside or outside when user submit user/ pass faced error  the page can't be displayed?

i tried this this user from different browsers and different computer the same issue

if i tried another user from the same computer it works fine

the strangest point after 30-60 minutes it backs to live and everything going fine

i checked event viewer there is nothing related to this issue.

in sometimes if i tried to access manual to CAS1.Domain.Local / IP address/ owa it works fine.

 URL changes to https://Mail.Domain.Com/owa/auth.owa

i red some about putting my public domain as remote domain but it's not clear !

any ideas please?

Accessing Exchange 2013 Mailboxes from Terminal Server hosted on Server 2003 Std - Cert Issues

$

We are in the midst of deploying an Exchange 2013 SP1 CU5 environment and have run into some issues.  Currently there is a good coexistence between a single Exchange 2007 server and the 5 2013 servers.  Mail is flowing through 2013 and then being relayed to 2007 when necessary.

We have a number of Server 2003 Terminal Servers.  On two separate machines, both running the lastest rollups of Outlook 2010, any user with a 2013 mailbox receives a password prompt after launching Outlook.  It is trying to connect to one of the two CAS, fills in the user's account, and will not accept any password.  In addition, a window pops up behind stating "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate.  the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail.pvschemicals.com.  Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.  (error code 0)."  2007 mailboxes are not affected.

We have checked pretty much everything that we can think of.  Virtual Directories are good, certificate is good, etc.  The strange thing is that only happens on 2003 TS machines, so I have to think that it's related.  Our 2008 TS' are just find.

We have applied the 2003 SHA2 certificate hotfix.

Exchange 2013 certificate issue

I have Exchange 2010 and 2013 installed in my environment. My goal is to migrate all the users from 2010 to 2013. I am testing internal Outlook connectivity and I get the following error when connecting to a mailbox on the 2013 server:

I need my CAS server to present the certificate name as mail.domain.co.uk - how can I do this?

Thanks

CRM for Outlook 2013 is crashing. Update Rollup 17

A few of our Outlook 2013 are crashing with the Dynamics CRM plugin installed.

We have Office 2013, 32 bit install on a 64bit/32bit version of windows. Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Currently have the update Rollup 17 installed.

I have on my machine, uninstalled it, removed all the folders and registry entries and then re-installed the plugin. This has not helped.

It crashes very frequently so much that we need to disable the plugin so that Outlook keeps working.

There are others using the same setup in the office, but it's not effecting all of us. About 3-4 people are being effected by this, and the rest 20 others are not having any problems.

Any ideas?

Autodiscover prompts for password

I am in the process of finishing co-existence. OWA and internal/external mailflow is functioning. I am just stuck on this last issue..... Outlook clients are prompting for credentials when opening Outook. I know I am missing something with the authentication.

Thank you in advance!

extra owa virtual directory without creating new site

Hi,

I"d like to duplicate the owa virtual directory, and perform different authentication types on both of them.

eg :
https://mail.mydomain.com/owa : form based authentication
https://mail.mydomain.com/owa2 : windows integrated authentication

Is there a workaround to configure it on the same site without the need to have an extra url / ip address?
So we don't need to add another certificate, change LB settings, ..

Outlook 2013 - Contacts/People - Notes not appearing on card

$

Hi,

I posted this question in the Microsoft Community group, and was advised to post it here.

I have a user who is not able to see notes for a contact when opening the contact in Card, Business Card, or List View. In Card view, they can see the notes on the card prior to opening the item. When they open the item, the notes do not appear.

When they are using People view, however, they can see the notes by clicking the Notes tab after selecting the contact.

We are using the Exchange protocol for our email servers.

Please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks!

Tammy

Two companies, one Exchange Server

$

We are an organisation with a single Exchange 2010 server.

All our addresses are currently @aaa.co.uk.

We have now acquired another company (bbb.co.,uk) and would like some of our users to have the ability top receive email from both domains and to be able to send from either @aaa.co.uk or @bbb.co.uk.

It would be advantageous to have the emails kept separate which may suggest these users having a mailbox for each company.

We have all our mail coming in via an ISP, who host our MX records, so I assume we just get them to host the MX records for bbb.co.uk also.

We do not have an Edge Transport server role.

Where do I go from there?

Am I right in thinking we need to create an Accepted Domain for bbb.co.uk then create separate mailboxes?

Well explained guidance would be much appreciated.

Prevent a user from adding an internal email address to 'BlockedSendersAndDomains'

$

Good morning

When an Outlook user blocks a particular sender I can see when running the EMS command:

Get-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration 'alias'

That the email address is added to 'BlockedSendersAndDomains' which is fine. However, a couple of users have blocked emails coming from important internal email addresses. This causes the email to be rejected by Exchange when it is sent.

How do I stop them from being able to block internal email addresses while still allowing them to block any other email address. Or is there an alternative way of achieving my desired goal?

Thanks in advance!

Outlook 2010 losing conditioning formatting in RDS

Hello.I created some conditional formatting rules in Outlook 2010, for a user whose mailbox is on anexchange 2013.I started over a custom view profile but for some unknown reason when I restarted Outlook the formatting was lost.So I started from scratch and created a new copy of compact view, renamed it and then started to apply the conditional formatting rules. This worked.But...

Being worried if the ruleset was kept for this user (this information is stored in his mailbox in the exchange server) I tried to test it by launching Outlook through a RDS (Terminal services) session and setting it up.Then I saw that it had my newly created custom view BUT the conditional formatting was lost.

Any ideas of what is going on here? Thanks.

O365 Calendar query - cannot identify recurring events

$

I am having trouble finding a way to efficiently handle recurring events through the O365 API. There does not seem to be a straightforward way to identify if an event recurs.

I am using the O365 API to display calendar events within a specified day on my web app. The user picks a day, and my app displays the events for that day mirroring what is shown in OWA. I am querying the calendar events endpoint (../Me/Calendar/Events) and filtering the results using $filter in the query to narrow the response down to events for that day.

However, this approach does not catch recurring events since the query only returns original event objects, not their recurrences.

To solve that problem, I was hoping to query that same endpoint and filter off of the "Recurrence" property. I found that this property is always null. However, if I query a specific event using its ID (../Me/Calendar/Events(<event id>)), the response includes everything I need to reconstruct the recurrence pattern (i.e. frequency, day of week, # of occurrences, etc.).

Although this gives me a way to handle recurring events, it is very inefficient to loop through each event to check for recurrences. This option is impractical since I would have to check all events ever created.

Has anyone else come across this and is there a good way of handling recurring events through the O365 API?

Change to Exchange 2010 after SP3, Update 5 installed

$

After updating Exchange 2010 from SP3 Update 2 to Update 5, a change has occurred for users with SendAs and Full Access to other mailboxes. Version 14.3 (build 123.4).

Before the Update, after giving a user these permissions to another user's mailbox, the mailbox would show in their Outlook 2010 client, and everything worked as expected.

After Update 5 was installed, when users select the other user's mailbox, they get a message "the folders are not available," or the connection to the Exchange server is not working." They can access their own mailbox with no issues.

The other mailbox has to be added to the Outlook client via Account Settings, Account Settings, Change, More Settings, Advanced tab, Add the other mailbox. The mailbox then shows up twice on the client, but only the one that has been added works, the original still gives the same error.

Sort sent items in sharedmailbox via OWA

Hi,

I can't create rule in my sharedmailbox for sending mails in OWA.

I tried few times, but always emails are moving to default folder "Sent items"

Rules for incoming mails works great!

With "Download Headers" option checked, opening plain text emails results in cropped body text

$
0
0

When I open raw plain text emails (i.e. not formatted as HTML) I only see thefirst 255 characters of the email body; all of the remainder is chopped off, and never appears no matter how many times I re-open the email.

I have narrowed this down to my somewhat unusual download preferences in Outlook. They are configured as follows:
Send/Receive -> Download Preferences -> Download Headers (checked).

I know the email text is there in full, because when I point my web browser at OWA, I can see the full body.
If at first I choose Mark to Download and then Process Marked Headers, I can then open the plain text email and see the body in full.

When I open HTML emails I have no problems, regardless of whether the email download was forced or not.

This issue existed on my old Office 2010 installation for XP too. It persists now I have upgraded to Office 2013 on Win 7.

Is this a known issue? It seems like Outlook just forgets to download the full text for plain text emails when opening them. It's repeatable every time, so it doesn't seem like a race condition.

We use a 3rd party provider (Cobweb) for our email service and I believe they are using Exchange 2013.

We use ESET Smart Security Suite and I have tried disabling the scanner for that but see no change in the outcome. I would appreciate if anyone without ESET could try to reproduce these steps for themselves and confirm.

Note: I already asked this question at the Office Community site and it was suggested I post here.

Thanks,
Marcel

kerberos failed authentication requests on our active directory

hi

We have a hosted exchange 2010 service that is hosted out of our organization. the domain name used for the mailboxes is different than the one used internally for our domain. the problem is we are getting a lot of kerberos authentication failure in our domain controller because outlook is trying to authenticate with the mail address on our domain.

how to prevent outlook to stop asking our internal domain for authentication?
