So I have a user who is using Outlook 2013 - he has moved one folder from the exchange account to another folder on a different shared account using Outlook, but the folder came up with an error when moved and fell back into his own account. Then we he looked the next day - that folder had disappeared. Anyone have any clues where it might be? We have looked everywhere, do you think the folder got deleted?

I am kind of at my wits end here.

A user has a very large mailbox, over 2 gigs.We have moved from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2013 (hosted service, so not the same server.) But first I deleted the user's profile on the Windows 7 machine and recreated thinking his profile may be corrupt, but only after removing the Exchange account from the box, repairing, uninstalling, upgrading from Outlook 2010 to Outlook 2013 and still  the computer get hung up using Outlook. I have gone in an disabled all plugins (except Exchange) and tried, no luck. The only thing that seems to work is running Outlook in safe mode. What else could be causing this to happen?

I purchased Microsoft 365 about a month ago and with it upgraded from Office 2010 to Office 2013. It. Crashes. Constantly. but that's for another post question.

I am saving contacts to the Outlook Data File via the Desktop App. As in: New Contact > Full Name > Company > etc.

When I get to E-mail I am able to put in an email address and sometimes it sticks and sometimes it does not. Sometimes when I tab to, "Display As," the email address disappears, other times it does not and allows me to save the email address in the contact. The end result is that some of my contacts have email addresses whereas others do not. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing or know a fix?

I called customer support and after 2 hours of dealing with people with poor listening skills they concluded that I need to buy a support package for $260 in order to address my issue. In order to have a product that behaves consistently and allows me to save contacts. My enterprise level gmail saves contacts and doesn't require support or a fee, my iPhone saves them fine with no need for support, as does my blackberry, my Nexus can even do this believe it or not! I find it... alarming... that MS would ask for money to get an out of the box product to perform a task that everybody in the marketplace can perform without issue. But I suppose the community can't really help with that.

Anyone have any idea why what was once-upon-a-time a Calendar and Contact Manager cant save a contact properly? 

Details:

• OS: Windows 7
• Email addresses are in Exchange (not that this should matter) I just want to save contacts locally. Not in the Exchange Server Account.
• I did try creating another outlook profile and using that - the same problem exists

Staff member left and came back to the company so the email was deprovisioned and reactivated.  When users aren't able to email him we delete any cached email entries and out of the 50 or so users that had an issue, only 1 has not been resolved.  This particular user gets a bounce back email stating:

Everything in italics has been edited by me.  Any idea on how to fix this?  I read a number of articles and tried to enter a x500 entry but that didn't seem to work.  (I may not have added it correctly)

We have a domain website and email that is hosted outside our network. We are now implementing email in-house but our website will still be outside. what do I do for MX records, name server records, A records, cname records etc. I cannot add another www. cname record to register.com because I already have on to our hosting address.

I'm trying to set up an exchange server 2013 on windows 2012 with all roles installed for 2 owa virtual directory, one for integrated windows authentication and the other for forms-based authentication.I followed a tutorial for exchange 2010.

Step 1: IP Address

Obtain a second IP address and add it to the NIC of your server.

Step 2: DNS

Add a DNS entry for That secondary IP address for the name we will want to use in the new FBA OWA Web site.I have chosen "testwebmail." Be sure there is a valid SSL certificate (recommended to have UC or SAN SSL certs) on the server Which has the new name "testwebmail" that will be used in the certificate.

Step 3: New Web Site

Create a new web site in IIS on the Client Access Server and bind it to the new IP address used in step 1.

Step 4: Adding Exchange Virtual Directories

The web site has been created and bound to the secondary IP address of our server.Also the DNS record That will be used to access the OWA FBA new page was added to DNS.The next step is to go into EMS and begin adding our virtual directories for OWA and ECP.

Login to the Exchange server and open the Exchange Management Shell.Then run Get-Get-OWAVirtualDirectory and ECPVirtualDirectory to see the default OWA and ECP directories.

New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/owa

New-ECPVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://testwebmail.mylab.ad/ecp

Step 5: Configure the Virtual Directories

To configure the virtual directories we will disable FBA on the Default Web Site OWA and ECP virtual directories

Set-OWAVirtualDirectory -Identity "OWA (Default Web Site)" -WindowsAuthentication$true -BasicAuthentication $false  -FormsBasedAuthentication $false

Set-ECPVirtualDirectory -Identity "ECP (Default Web Site)"-WindowsAuthentication $true -BasicAuthentication $false  -FormsBasedAuthentication $false

Step 6: iisreset

now if I access the default site I log in with windows integrated authentication, but when I try to access the second site with forms authentication tells me username or password incorrect

I've been trying to connect between our OWA (Exchange 2013) to our ADFS server according to this guide - https://eu.netdocuments.com/neWeb2/docCent.aspx?whr=CA-ISRRR0MN

I've reached one of the last steps (enable ADFS authentication on the OWA and ECP) but I got an error now - when trying to run the command

Get-EcpVirtualDirectory | Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -AdfsAuthentication $true -BasicAuthentication $false -DigestAuthentication $false -FormsAuthentication $false -LiveIdAuthentication $false -WindowsAuthentication $false

I get an error - a parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name "LiveIdAuthentication".
Any thoughts?

If I just remove the "LiveIdAuthentication" parameter from the command it works ok, but then I move forward to OWA configuration (same command but without the "LiveIdAuthentication" parameter). Then I get and error regarding "ADFSAuthentication"...

Below is GFI's description and response to my issue. Please advise on how I ought to proceed:

Email is making it to MailEssentials, we are flagging it and the action is set to deliver it to the Junk Email folder in Outlook.

We flag the email with an SCL value of 9 which when the email gets sent back to Exchange should be picked up on and as a result the email gets sent to the Junk email folder.

The problem seems to have been that even though we are flagging the email and passing it back to Exchange the email is not going to the Junk email folder and is instead going to the Inbox. After we reviewed the logs we found that our product is flagging the emails with the SCL value and passing them back to Exchange. We suggested using Exchange Message Tracking to see what happens to the email after it gets passed back to Exchange to determine where the issues are occurring as within our software we look to be functioning correctly.

As part of our Exchange 2010 -> 2013 migration we've transitioned CAS to Exchange 2013 2 weeks ago. Some 50 mailboxes have been moved to exchange 2013. Moving mailboxes for everyone is scheduled the 2nd week of july . Because our current version of Outlook is 2007 (migration to 2013 is due thissummer) we've configured NTLM authentication for OA.

Exchange setup: 8 Multirole (CAS/MBX) virtual (VMware) Servers: each 4 cores, 24 Gb memory (reserved) : Windows 2012 SP1, Exchange 2013 SP1 (15.0.847.4030)

Right now we're facing client connectivity issue's: Outlook Anywhere clients are continiously losing connection with exchange, some people (outllook 2007/exc. 2007) report every minute or worse.... Moving the mailboxes of affected people results in less problems: Sometimes no disconnects for 10 to 30 minutes, then reconnects every minute for some time.

We've already set the timeout for the oa-pool in our network proxy (riverbed steelapp) to 20 minutes and the minimum keep alive on the 2013 servers to 120 seconds which improved Oultook 2013 clients; before I experienced reconnects every minute, after every 10 to 30 minutes (with periods of reconnects every minute)

testconnectivity.microsoft.com gives positive results (apart from a nspi warning about server side encryption)

testing with rpcping according to http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2008/06/20/3405633.aspx gives some interesting results:

I've tested all (8) CAS 2013 servers over ports 6001, 6002 and 6003; each 100 rpcpings with a for loop: every response was either about 500 ms or about 21 Seconds ?!?

How can we furher troubleshoot the reason of the long reply time. Eventlogs (and SCOM with exchange 2013 MP) show no relevant events or alerts.

I have a three node exchange 2013 DAG cluster that I upgraded to SP1 three days ago.   All email flows currently work and ECP is available on all node on all browsers for all users.   OWA was working on 2013 CU3.   After  the upgrade to SP1  and I confirmed that all email flows were working,  I did change the administrators  username.  I noticed OWA problems after that, but they would have happened before the administrator rename.  I have confirmed  certificates and binding are correct on all three nodes.  I did rebuild the OWA directory on one node with no success.

However OWA is only available using Firefox (tested on several users on several machines) .   Logging on to ECP using IE 11 works fine (multiple users) Logging on to OWA using  IE 11 give me the error.  This is happening on all three nodes using IE 11 but not Firefox 27

we did a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2010, we already have PST files and want to import them using PST Capture to the new Mailboxes in the new domain.

while importing we were faced with an error saying "Complete with errors, hresult e_fail has been returned from a call to a com component", in the IPM subtree.Any solution to address the problem?

I have enabled the users to change expired passwords by enabling the change password feature in OWA. I have used the intructions from the link below:

Since then the microsoft outlook keep asking for credentials. Even if i provide the credential it doesnt like it and prompt me to provide the credential. I am using microsoft office 2010 and exchange server 2010 as well. If anyone can throw some light that would be of great help.

I recently migrated all of my users from Exchange 2007 to 2013. One Outlook user gets this prompt each time he opens Outlook after rebooting his desktop. He gets it after every reboot.

We migrated to Office365 earlier in the year. Our website runs on XAMPP and implements sendmail.exe tool in the PHP code to send out notifications to an Office365 mailbox. The PHP and sendmail configs are set correctly (see below). I know because I set it up and tested, and email sending was fine until this week. My question is: How can I check if Office365 is blocking the server? Do I need a separate connector to accept mail? I know that the XAMPP server IP is not listed in spamhaus, I checked. So it's not a delisting issue.

On the server this is the error that I get: "SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host."

I have the following error on one user.

Process w3wp.exe (OWA) (PID=8936). the budget for user .... is locked out until 6/30/2014 06:05:36 PM. Max Burst 480000, Recharge Rate 180000, Cutoffbalance: -2147483648.

This seems to be the only user right now and I'm not sure what's causing the issue since the account was fine until 3 weeks ago and this error started.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

I have 2 cas servers and 2 mailbox servers.

I created a certificate on CAS01, with my CA server.  (cert request and completed, etc.)

I then exported that cert and am trying to import it on my other 3 exchange servers.

However when I do I get the error,

"A special Rpc error occurs on server CAS02: Cannot import certificate.  A certificate with the thumbprint xxxxxxx already exists."

xxxxx= the whole cert thumbprint.

if anyone knows what is causing this or how to fix, would be greatly appreciated.
