Troubleshoot connectivity issues Outlook Anywhere Exchange 2013

Hi there,

As part of our Exchange 2010 -> 2013 migration we've transitioned CAS to Exchange 2013 2 weeks ago. Some 50 mailboxes have been moved to exchange 2013. Moving mailboxes for everyone is scheduled the 2nd week of july . Because our current version of Outlook is 2007 (migration to 2013 is due thissummer) we've configured NTLM authentication for OA.

Exchange setup: 8 Multirole (CAS/MBX) virtual (VMware) Servers: each 4 cores, 24 Gb memory (reserved) : Windows 2012 SP1, Exchange 2013 SP1 (15.0.847.4030)

Right now we're facing client connectivity issue's: Outlook Anywhere clients are continiously losing connection with exchange, some people (outllook 2007/exc. 2007) report every minute or worse.... Moving the mailboxes of affected people results in less problems: Sometimes no disconnects for 10 to 30 minutes, then reconnects every minute for some time.

We've already set the timeout for the oa-pool in our network proxy (riverbed steelapp) to 20 minutes and the minimum keep alive on the 2013 servers to 120 seconds which improved Oultook 2013 clients; before I experienced reconnects every minute, after every 10 to 30 minutes (with periods of reconnects every minute)

testconnectivity.microsoft.com gives positive results (apart from a nspi warning about server side encryption)

testing with rpcping according to http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2008/06/20/3405633.aspx gives some interesting results:

I've tested all (8) CAS 2013 servers over ports 6001, 6002 and 6003; each 100 rpcpings with a for loop: every response was either about 500 ms or about 21 Seconds ?!?

How can we furher troubleshoot the reason of the long reply time. Eventlogs (and SCOM with exchange 2013 MP) show no relevant events or alerts.

However OWA works fine on every device. and Ms Outlook works fine on Windows machines.

We have rooms setup as resources and they are setup with auto attendant for booking.  If i want to appoint one person the right to change the attendees from room a to room b what rights do i need to grant so they cna do it in outlook?  Now this user will not be invited to the meeting just be an onsite admin.  Thanks.

Hello,

I have made new Exchange 2013 SP1 installation with CAS frontend server and mailbox backend server.

I have played with OWA and ECP authentication. I have broken it and have recovered again but now I have a problem with authentication to owa and ecp. When users enter their login/password they redirect to https://mail.server.kz/owa/login.aspx and after it they redirect to https://mail.server.kz/owa/auth/errorFE.aspx?httpCode=404:

https://mail.server.kz/owa/auth/logon.aspx?replaceCurrent=1&url=https%3a%2f%2fmail.server.kz%2fowa%2flogin.aspx

If user enters https://mail.server.kz/owa/ he gets correct page and then everything works fine.

Migrate Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, Need to defined win 7 users logon to Exchange 2010 & Win 8.1 users logon to Exchange 2013

Hi,
My organization have few win 7 and windows 8.1 clients. Now I want to migrate exchange server 2010 to 2013. And I don't want to remove exchange 2010 from the organization. Because I want to connect win 7 client through exchange 2010 and windows 8.1 user connect to exchange 2013. Is there any way to define the win 7 users to connect to exchange 2010 and Windows 8.1 users to connect to exchange 2013? If it possible write us step by step.

Not all contacts appearing in "People" tab in Outlook 2013.

Hello.

So the issue is this:  An employee at the company will add someone into their contact list in Outlook 2013, and the contact will not appear under the "People" view. The contact will appear in the global address list, but not everyone in the GAL will appear under the people tab. As far as I know he is the only one with this issue. I've repaired and re installed Office 13, Rebuild the index and updated his GAL and nothing seems to have worked. I have been unable to find a solution online and he has to sit on it for now. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Not Read" receipt received from sender for all emails sent.

We recently migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and I've got one user that started having a strange problem after the migration.  She has Outlook set to request a read receipt for all emails that she sends and that works fine except that for every email she sends, she gets a "Not Read" receipt back and this not read receipt comes from her as if she sent the email to herself and didn't read it.  She also get the not read receipt if she deletes emails that are in her sent box and again, the not read receipt comes from her.  

This user is using Outlook 2007 SP3 with all available updates installed.  We've tried a new profile and we've also tried on a different computer with the same results.  She doesn't have any rules set up except for the one for clearing categories that I believe is a default rule.  I've checked the settings of the rule and there is nothing there that would be causing this.  The other strange thing is that these not read receipts seem to come in batches.  If she sends one email the the not read receipt doesn't show up or at least not immediately.  If she sends 2 or 3 messages then she'll get all of the not read receipts for those 2 or 3 messages at the same time.

Auto-complete list pruge internal employee

Hey everybody,

I got a problem with terminated employees and the auto-complete list (old nk2). 

The terminated employees are still in the list and it looks like I only can delete them manualy. 

Is there any possibility to compare the content of the list with the GAL and delete the wrong addresses? 

In this article a way is discribed but the first step isn't viable imo. 

  1. Exit Outlook, and then close Outlook Web Access or Outlook Web App (OWA) on all workstations that are connected to your mailbox.

I have an exchange 2010 SP3 with the last cumulative update.

I've an error that is explained in lots of messages of this forum: I cannot delete messages in owa.

The error is exactly "mailbox you're trying to access isn't currently available". There are no event viewer warnings or errors related. Windows Server 2008 R2 has service pack 1 installed, then has the patch of IPv6 with EWS.

I've tried lots of ideas of the forum but doesn't work

Any idea?

Outlook 2013 and Signature Font Colors

I've used outlook for several generations now and recently switched to 2013.  I got Office Home and Business 2013 on a new Dell I bought. 

My problem is this: I set up a signature for new emails and another I use for for forwarding and replying.  When I hit New Email, I get the signature I entered with the correct colors of text.  When I hit Reply or Forward, the signature appears in an odd colored font like yellow-green, dark green, dark blue, or magenta.  So, before I can type my message, I have to change the font color back to what it's supposed to be.  I haven't figured out if a pattern exists in why it selects one odd color over the others.  It's getting annoying.

GFI Mail Essentials Spam in Inbox

Below is GFI's description and response to my issue. Please advise on how I ought to proceed:

Email is making it to MailEssentials, we are flagging it and the action is set to deliver it to the Junk Email folder in Outlook.

We flag the email with an SCL value of 9 which when the email gets sent back to Exchange should be picked up on and as a result the email gets sent to the Junk email folder.

The problem seems to have been that even though we are flagging the email and passing it back to Exchange the email is not going to the Junk email folder and is instead going to the Inbox. After we reviewed the logs we found that our product is flagging the emails with the SCL value and passing them back to Exchange. We suggested using Exchange Message Tracking to see what happens to the email after it gets passed back to Exchange to determine where the issues are occurring as within our software we look to be functioning correctly.

Not able to configure Exchange mail on Mac book X

HI ,

Am trying to configure the Mail app. on Mac OS X, I get the following warning, in the wizard.

" The exchange server "X.Y.com" is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue you might not be able to receive messages."

And after it is configured I get the following error, while trying to connect to the server.

"Unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “w@Y.com” or try again.
The server returned the error: The connection to host outlook.domain.com on port 443 failed."

I used the adress given in the virtual directories. that is:

"https://X.Y.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx"

It says:

"The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."

Any help on this would be great.

Manage Other Mailbox from OWA 2013

Hello,

We can manage other user from OWA (option/mail/option/what to manage) Exchange 2010. We upgraded our system to Exchange 2013 but we can not manage other user from OWA 2013. Is there any additonal settings to manage other mailbox from OWA 2013?

Hello,

Our mail system exchange 2010 sp3 and exchange2013 cu3 both. I am moving my users step by step. If one user (mailbox at exchange2013 server) send mail with mail body includes picture (jpeg,jpg,png etx) to another user who are on exchange 2010 servers, users can not see pictures on mail both outlook and owa.

Problem is only exchange2010 users.

How to solve this problem?

I am using Exchange 2013 on Windows 2010 and all my clients are Outlook 2010. 

We cannot attach more than 10MB's of attachments. I get the two below errors in Outlook:

I have increased both the send and received connectors in ECP to 100MB and restarted the transport service. No luck. All users are effected by this.

Any ideas?
