Hi,
We're having an issue with some Outlook 2013 clients dropping their connection to Exchange 2013 (both SP1). Connections are made using the MAPI/HTTP protocol, via a reverse proxy. When the connection is dropped, the proxy logs simply show that the connection
was reset ("connection reset by peer").
There is no obvious cause for this, or related errors on the Exchange server's event logs. What could be causing this?

Funky text wrap on Microsoft Outlook Web App
My university's email account is available through Microsoft Outlook Web App, and for the past few days my text has been randomly wrapping at odd points. It may wrap after I have written two words, or it may continue to push through where it typically wraps and begin writing off-screen. I have waited a few days for this issue to resolve itself, but A) it hasn't, and B) it does not appear to be affecting anyone else at my university (to my knowledge). I would appreciate some help so that I can write normal wrap emails.
Thank you!

OutlookProvider EXCH/EXPR questions for 2007/2013 CoExistence, Outlook connectivity issue
Hi Everyone-
Can anyone give me advice on how to configure my Outlook providers for my environment?
Single 2007 Server in coexistence with separate CAS/MBX 2013 Sp1.
It currently looks like this:
I changed the EXPR CertPrincipleName after coexistence due to a cert pop-up that was occurring in Outlook (2010) while connected to a 2007 mailbox.
All connectivity and mail flow is working fine, EXCEPT, connecting Outlook to a 2013 mailbox. It finds the user/mb but fails at login.
Thank you for your time!
Exchange 2013 Mailbox multiplicate Calendar entries
We have a user on Exchange 2013 who recently got thousands of duplicate calendar entries. By the looks of it happened overnight/over the weekend about 2 weeks ago and now there is no way to get rid of them.
The Calendar entries are definitely in Exchange and not just stored locally. OWA showing thousands of reminders and thousands of Calendar entries. Outlook clients as well as OWA are unusable - as soon as you click on Calendar it crashes freezes and then crashes Outlook client as well as every single browser I tried it on.
I tried everything I could find online, there isn't much, as most of the solutions only deal when the problem is limited to the Outlook client.
Also ran a CalCheck on the Mailbox in question and that's what I get
Found 4267 items in the Calendar. Processing...

Exchange 2013 OWA internal only
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to restrict Exchange 2013 OWA for internal only, but can't impact Exchange ActiveSync service?
I guess IP Address and Domain Restrictions can make it, but it may impact ActiveSync.
Any good solution?
Thank,
Ian

mailto in outlook after check name has run the email type is invalid
Good evening all,
My customer is using Sage 50 Accounts 2014 they have the option to export to outlook 2010. This then users the mailto protocol to save the email into the outlook clients drafts. When we open up the email from the drafts folder it seems ok it has the customers email address in the to field, we then press check names button which it underlines the email as expected. However, if you now right click on the email address and click on outlook properties you get the "email type" filed set to INVALID if you click on the button next to it Internet Type it changes it to SMTP and will then send the email no problem.
The DNR we have been getting is like this:
IMCEAINVALID-Example+40name+2Ecom@Domain.local
#550 5.4.4 ROUTING.NoConnectorForAddressType; unable to route for address type ##
I have substituted the email address information with the words Example, Name and Domain.
Troubleshooting:
We have cleared all of the contact cards in this outlook profile. We have rebuilt the outlook profile. We are using online profiles so there is no OST to worry about. The outlook client is able to send and received emails in a normal way no problem. Sage don’t believe this is an issue with their product or the installation. This is happening to all the users that use the Sage software. We have created new customers in Sage in case the database was corrupted but this has not made a difference. When using a website link using mailto the issue does not occur.
I really need some help with this my gut feeling is that this is ether an outlook or Sage issue ether way I need a fix. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

I'm getting hammered by spam from .RU
I am using MS Office 365 Exchange and Outlook 2007 on PCs. And of course I have an iPhone.
Here is the problem:
On Outlook I can exclude any/all top level Domains e.g. .RU, .IL etc. But there is no way that I can do this on Exchange Online.(at least i can't find a way) Thus, all of the trash email is hitting my iPhone. When the same email hits my PC Outlook trashes
the .Ru etc. Outlook politely trashes it.
How can I exclude top level DOMAINS on Exchange Online?
As far as i can tell ExchangeOnline allows for excluded IPs. The SpamMongers change the IPs every second so that wont work.

Location of Shared Calendars in Outlook 2013
I'm attempting to access a calendar that was shared with me in Outlook on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S4). I can view/edit the shared calendarwithout any issues in Outlook; I've noticed, however, that if I view the Properties for that calendar in Outlook, the "Location" is blank (whereas the Location for MY calendar and any other calendar I create myself is \\(my email address). If I try to Move or Copy that shared calendar to another location, I receive the error "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found." I believe this is the reason I cannot view it on my phone.
Does anyone know where shared calendars that you yourself didn't create are stored? As I mentioned, I can go in and create a calendar called "Test" which will appear under My Calendars with the location \\(my email address)\Calendar. "Test" will then appear as an available calendar to view/sync on my phone. So this only appears to be an issue for calendars that I myself didn't create.
A couple other notes:
- I am using Touchdown for my corporate email/calendar. I did try the Galaxy S4 native Calendar app and found that I was also unable to bring up the shared calendar (which is why I believe that it is an issue within Outlook and not the phone).
- My email account is configured as a Microsoft Exchange account.
- The individual who created the calendar shared it by right-clicking the calendar in the Outlook Calendar view and selecting Share -> Share Calendar. This sent an email invitation to me that, once accepted, allowed for me to view/edit that calendar.
Any help would be appreciated!

Outlook export option doesn't export calendar
We are in the process of migrating our mailboxes to Office365. I have most mailboxes successfully exported using Outlook's export option (File > Open > Import > Export to a file). Most mailboxes have all the mail, contacts and calendars exported and imported without issues.
However I have 2 mailboxes for which the calendar entries are not exported. Meaning, when I open the PST file, the calendar tab is totally empty. NO entries at all. Thus after I perform the import, the new calendar is completely empty.
Details:
- using Outlook2010 to export and view the PST file
- connected to Exchange 2010 SP1
- issue occurs in both online and offline modes
One thing I notice that makes these 2 mailboxes different: they delegated full access for the calendar to another user... In the mailboxes that I am exporting, no other mailbox has granted access, so I just thought I should mention this.
Also, I raised a question on Office365 forums, but after troubleshooting, I narrowed it down to an issue with the export of the PST file.
Thanks.
How to change owner of email list in Outlook 2010?
I am an owner of the email group. I can add and remove members.
I would like to make another person an owner.
How can I do that?
Thank you!

Exchange 2013 online mode - hard deleting items from search folders cause reconnect
Hello!
I have recently deployed Exchange 2013 in a co-existence scenario with Exchange 2007 and everything is working pretty good. I am now preparing to move ~5000 users to Exchange 2013 in coming weeks.
I have one issue which i can't work around and it has to do with Outlook running in Online mode and deletions in a search folder view. i.e. "Unread email" folder
If i delete an email message from a search folder I get an error message saying the "item could not be deleted. it might already been moved or you do not have access." After that message the item is deleted normally but at the same time the Outlook client reconnects (displays "trying to connect" briefly in the lower right)
This happens in Outlook 2007-2010-2013 in Online mode.
In cached mode it works normally, but this is not an option since we want to run online mode on our large terminal server farm.
things I have tried
- Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013 with latest updates and hotfixes I could find
- I have bypassed our load balancer and it the behaviour is the same. - New mailboxes created on EX2013 - same behaviour
- Client OS does not seem to matter.
It's not a critical problem, but I guess we will get questions from the users that actively uses these folders.
brief environment config:
Servers: Exchange 2013 SP1: 3 x CAS, 4 MBX on Windows Server 2012 - latest updates everything.
Clients: Outlook 2007-2013, latest updates. Running on Windows Server 2008 R2 mainly.
Any input welcome!
attachment missing from owa
Hi ,
I am struggling with a peculiar problem . An external user sending email with two of our internal user with 2 attachment (.pdf & .xls ). One user is getting attachment properly but other is not. Initially I thought the problem with office outlook but when I have checked the effected user’s web mail there I found both attachments are showing in .txt format and size is only 64 kb. On the other hand when the other local user who received both attachment properly forwarding the same email to the effected user, then only he can find the original attachments. We have an exchange 2010 server.
While tracking the email from ‘ Tracking log Explorer in Exchange Management Console ‘ there I can find the email with the desired attachment size.
Can anybody please help me out of this issue. Unfortunately it’s happening with my CEO’s account.
Regards
Shankar.
Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.(Error Code 10) when users opened Outlook 2010
Hi All
Exchange Server - 2013 CU2 (Windows 2012 Standard)
AD Server - 2003 R2 SP2
exchange-svr01.domain.com - internal name
mail.company.net - external name
When users opened Outlook 2010, they will encountered
"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site exchange-svr01.domain.com.
Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.(Error Code 10)"
I also used the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to test RPC/HTTP connectivity.
The RPC/HTTP test completed successfully. |
Validating the certificate name.
Certificate name validation failed.
Host name company.net doesn't match any name found on the server certificate CN=AMAZONA-U59HG9G.
Testing SSL mutual authentication with the RPC proxy server.
The test passed with some warnings encountered.
The certificate common name company.net doesn't match the mutual authentication string provided mail.company.net; however, a match was found in the subject alternative name extension.
please help.
