After Migrating To Exchange 2013 All Outlook 2010 Users Constantly Prompted For Password (BUT OUTLOOK WORKS).

$

I have two servers.  One is Exchange 2010 and the other is Exchange 2013.

Three of our users had mailboxes on Exchange 2013 for the last few weeks with no problems.  They used Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010.  After moving the rest of our ~25 users to Exchange 2013 the users with Outlook 2010 began to be prompted for their password constantly.

They try entering it and it immediately reappears.

The odd thing is it shows connected and they are able to send and receive emails correctly.

I've tested our exchange connectivity using www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and all is well there.

I'm not really sure what's going on.

Any help is appreciated.

Luke

Thanks, Luke Pickard

Exchange 2013 Sp1 Test-PopConnectivity issues in coexistence

$

I'm having issues with Pop3 in a coexistence environment with 2007. The 2013 roles are split- cas servers and mailbox servers.

If I run "Test-PopConnectivity -ClientAccessServer:cas01 -MailboxCredential:(Get-Credential domain\test.exchange) |fl"

I get the error "Service MSExchangePOP3 was not found on <mailboxserver>" and a DR Watson is created.

Ok I know there is a front end and a back end component to Pop3. This error is expecting to find the front end component on a mailbox server? So is it just an issue because the roles are split or is it to do with proxying through the CAS not being enabled?

Pop3 does not use a send connector- just a receive connector right? So how would it Proxy- if it does

Confused

cannot get my email account to configure in office 2013

I have a brand new pc and it has office 2013 on it.  I got an IMAP account to load email, but not an exchange server account that I had used for years in office 2003.  I have all the right setttings.  When I go to establish it, Outlook just hangs and says "not responding" like a stalled out webpage.  It then says outlook is not connected.  Well, it IS connected.  I have tried installing this account both via wireless  internet connection and hard wired---no luck.  Microsoft says they will gladly help for beween 250 and 500 hundred bucks--not willing to be gouged like that for new product!

can anyone help a non-techie home office guy?

Random message "The microsoft exchange administrator has made changes that requires you quit and restart Outlook"

$

Hello everyone,

I have read a lot of subject on technet forums and others but I don't find the solution to my issue.

So I explain my problem:

I have 2 different clients with Exchange Server 2013 Standard installed on a Windows Server 2012 Standard that have the message that ask to restart outlook. I try to install SP1 on one of my client but without success. So I let the second one in CU3.

The message appears on Outlook 2013 and 2010. Some have cache enabled and other not.

I try to recreate profile, change different settings, delete OST file and recreate it, enable and disable cache,...

There is no cluster, no load balancing and no replication between different exchange servers.

This message appeared without I make changes. (It started approximately at the same time for the 2 clients).

I have other client in the same configuration that has not this message.

Thank you in advance

Is it possible to send the responses elsewhere when you are not a delegate?  i.e. someone else is coordinating the meeting, you're just sending the invite.  Outlook email is configured with Exchange.

Shared calendar problems with only a handful of users

$

Hi. We Run an Exchange 2010 (SP3 RU2) and for a long time calendar sharing is a big problem. Please also note that these mailboxes are linked mailboxes.

The latest is a user has been granted Reviewer permission over a number of other Users mailboxes but they cannot see anything other than Free/Busy information.

If the user sends a Calendar share invite via Outlook they get an error: "The Folder you selected is not available".

These issues also persist in OWA.

Today I have disabled their user account in exchange, removed the resource AD user. Created a new user in the resource, reconnected the mailbox to the new user and the existing authentication AD user. This made no difference. New profiles in outlook makes no difference.

Removing and reading permissions in powershell, makes no difference.

Is there something I am missing?

Exchange 2013 OWA/ECP HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

$

So I know there are a lot of these threads, so I'll list what I've done and what I've tried so far.

The setup is a pair of multirole servers with a DAG.  We have a root domain and sub domain.

I've created 4 databases associated with the DAG, I successfully removed the default database on the 2nd mail server, then migrated the arbitration/system/discovery etc... mailboxes to one of the DAG databases.  I then removed the 1st mail server's default database after killing it's healthmailbox.  Rebooted the pair of servers and after that the ECP/OWA were inaccessible.

To run tests I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 so I could run the ExBPA which really didn't get me anywhere.

I can access the logon screen for both, but when I enter my username and password, I get the http 500 internal server error.

I have used: Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server <server name> | fl *auth*
To verify that basic and forms based auth are enabled, and they are.

I've verified all services have started.

I've tried to remove and re-add the app pools and the ecp virtual directories.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/bb148ccb-a75e-4571-bfc7-76950f8e638e/exchange-2013-cu2-cant-access-ecp-unexpected-error-500?forum=exchangesvrgeneral

I've tried to use ADSI Edit to purge the Canary Data.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/777b51ee-330d-43cc-a56e-4614d44aed7b/unable-to-access-owa-or-ecp-something-went-wrong-or-500-unexpected-error?forum=exchangesvrclients

I've tried to run test-ecpconnectivity but stated that the test user wasn't available.
So I tried to use the powershell script to create a new test user, but it doesn't seem to work either I think it's related to the exchange machine not being a member of the root domain, but not sure on that one.

I seem to be able to manage everything with command-line still.  Create and remove mailboxes etc.

As far as errors/warnings go exchange wise I get an ASP.NET 4.0 warning Event ID 1309 stating that an unhandled exception occurred, which seems to coincide with the logon attempt.  I'm sure this has something to do with it, but not real sure what yet. Nothing I can see within the logon attempt from IIS or anything else really.

I think that's about all I have.

OWA 2013 URL parameter documentation for OWA URL viewmodel=ImailComposeViewModelFactory

$

I have looked everywhere and can't find any help for linking to OWA exchange 2013and passing the need URL parameters to open new mail and pass To, CC and Bcc recipients.

I have found the following is working some of the time for me to open new mail.

       outlook.com/owa/OURURL/#viewmodel=IMailComposeViewModelFactory&wid=91&ispopout=1

I cannot find how to send in the To, Cc and Bcc with the url.

Any suggestions on where to find documentation on #viewmodel=IMailComposeViewModelFactory or any query string parameters that can be used with OWA 2013.

Where is the OWA 2013 URL documentation ?

Thanks

Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.(Error Code 10) when users opened Outlook 2010

Hi All

Exchange Server - 2013 CU2 (Windows 2012 Standard)
AD Server - 2003 R2 SP2
exchange-svr01.domain.com - internal name
mail.company.net - external name

When users opened Outlook 2010, they will encountered

"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site exchange-svr01.domain.com.

Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server.(Error Code 10)"

I also used the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer to test RPC/HTTP connectivity.

The RPC/HTTP test completed successfully.

    Validating the certificate name.
     Certificate name validation failed.
Host name company.net doesn't match any name found on the server certificate CN=AMAZONA-U59HG9G.

Testing SSL mutual authentication with the RPC proxy server.
The test passed with some warnings encountered.

The certificate common name company.net doesn't match the mutual authentication string provided mail.company.net; however, a match was found in the subject alternative name extension.

 please help.

Anonymous Authentication Custom PRF File

Hi All,

I'll try to make this as simple as possible, I have customized a .prf file using the office customization tool, and made a .bat file that a user can click on, starts outlook and automatically imports the server settings.

My only issue is, with Exchange 2013, the "Logon network security" type needs to be Anonymous Authentication, and am not sure if it is even possible to set/change. I have opened the .prf file in notepad, but can't seem to find anything related.

Here is the .prf file for quick reference:

I have autoarchiving setup to run every week for all folders. I fill up my Inbox extremely quickly so I rely on autoarchiving to clear out my Inbox so I can recieve additional emails. The autoarhive is not automatically running every week as all settings appear to be set as. I have double checked the location of where to send (Directly to my user account on the C: Drive).

So when I go to manually hit the Archive button it comes back with the error above "The attempted operation failed. An object cannot be found." I have tried moving this file from a network server location to my desktop and it still comes back with the error that an object cannont be found. I have reinstalled Outlook, my profile, and archives. I tried to create a whole new autoarchive from scratch and it wouldn't apply to the current emails (no error it would just think and then not do anything)

I know there are multiple issues here so advice to any would be great!

Exchange 2010 Enterprise – Online Archive not visible in Office 2013 Professional Plus and the Share mailbox.

Hi!

Outlook 2013 professional plus was working perfectly weeks ago, then out of nowhere new profiles doesn't have visible in Outlook the online archive and the shared mailboxes, however it shows up in OWA.

It was given full permission for those users with no results, online archive is enabled, profiles were already deleted and recriated.

The older profiles work perfectly.

We have the services ActiveSync, Autodiscover, Outlook Anywhere, OWA and they're all working with no errors.

Regards

Missing RCP Virtual Directory

Hey guys, I have two Exchange 2013 servers setup running both CAS and Mailbox roles.  Two servers are configured in a DAG.

  • RPC-over-HTTP-proxy is installed.

PS C:\Windows\system32> Install-WindowsFeature RPC-over-HTTP-proxy -Verbose
VERBOSE: Installation started...

Success Restart Needed Exit Code      Feature Result
------- -------------- ---------      --------------
True    No             NoChangeNeeded {}
VERBOSE: Installation succeeded.

  • Outlook AnyWhere is enabled.  there are 4 results here as two are previous 2010 servers (coexistence)

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-ClientAccessServer | fl outlookanywhereenabled

OutlookAnywhereEnabled : True

OutlookAnywhereEnabled : True

OutlookAnywhereEnabled : True

OutlookAnywhereEnabled : True

  • All CAS servers return results for Get-OutlookAnywhere VD's (server name removed for security)

My problem is that on ONE of the Exchange 2013 servers, there is no actual virtual directory displayed in IIS???? You can see in the images below, one clearly has and the other doesn't.  This is a problem for me, because I am monitoring /rpc/healthcheck.htm in each directory and obviously for the one server it fails.  As this is new servers and I have no mailboxes migrated over yet from the 2010 environment, I don't know if it is going to be a problem in the future.  I expect it will.

The action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address book.

I'm going banana's here. This issue has already taken days of reading threads similar to mine, but I haven't been able to find an answer yet.

Problem is that on some computers and with (it seems) completely random mailboxes we're getting the error "The action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address book.". I've been checking the event viewer on the Exchange Server and it's telling me that the computer tries to connect to a different mailbox which isn't configured anymore on the computer. It was, but I removed the profile, all local cache files and even all keys in the registry. After this I did a recovery installation of Outlook, but even that didnt work.

I tried to hide and unhide the mailbox from the GAL and checked if it wasn't hidden in AD (which it isn't of course). Even checked the LegacyDN name but that's only giving me some letters and numbers.

So now I am out of options. I think it has something to do with the computer and not with Exchange, but I can't figure out what. Anyone out there with a similar problem and/or a solution?
