freebusy lookups via OWA not working correctly (notes coexistence)

$

Hi,

We're performing a migration from notes to exchange 2013, and are currently using contacts for the resource mailboxes that are still in notes.

When looking up freebusy information via outlook, all is ok, but when we query the rooms (contacts) via OWA, we get the status unavailable.

It looks like a timeout, since querying the freebusy is being performed correctly (quest coex freebusy server).

If I'm correct there was a timeout that can be configured for crossforest ews lookups in earlier exchange versions.
Is this still the case in Exchange 2013 CU3? And if so, where can I configure it?

Configuring Kerberos Authentication for Load-Balanced Client Access Servers under Exchange 2013

$

Under Exchange 2010 were several documents and articles giving guidance for Setting up Kerberos for your load balanced CAS-Array. However there is not much in the way of guidance when it comes to Exchange 2013.

I believe that http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff808312.aspxand http://blogs.technet.com/b/kpapadak/archive/2011/03/13/setting-up-kerberos-with-a-client-access-server-array.aspx would still be valid.

However I did come across an article http://unifiees.blogspot.com/2012/11/tutoriel-exchange-2013-configurer.html which you have to translate from French.  He talks about reconfiguring the user authentication for Outlook Anywhere.  Which we did not have to do under Exchange 2010.

Example:

Get-OutlookAnywhere Server-SV-E15-2 -ADPropertiesOnly | Set-OutlookAnywhere -InternalClientAuthenticationMethod Negotiate-IISAuthenticationMethodsNegotiate, Ntlm

I would like to see guidance for 2013 if possible to see if there are any other little areas with the changes in Client Access that the community does not know about yet.

Body of Accept/Decline messages from resource room mailboxes blank when viewed with Outlook 2010 or 2013.

I stumbled across a funny little problem yesterday after a rash of users calling wanting to know why rooms were declining their meeting requests..

The rooms were declining for perfectly legitimate reasons.. Conflicts or no end date but the accept/decline reply messages the rooms were sending out had no details in the message body when viewed from Outlook 2010 or 2013.

If message preview is enabled in Outlook 2013 you can read a few lines of the body in the inbox view but it's still blank when you open the message.

Reading pane is also blank.

Opening the message from OWA or my phone shows the complete message body.

Very odd. It reminds me of the bug in Exchange 2013 CU2 where meeting invites to external users were sent blank unless they were sent as iCalendar.

Maybe this will resolve itself when I load SP1 in a few weeks.

Any one else seeing this?

We are running 2013 CU 3

Hello

I need a help, please. I tried lot of results from different forums.

I have Exchange 2007 SP1, TMG and WP8 and I thing I have got error code 85010014 after some update. Because It was working nice more than half year.

The OWA is working correctly, I did not publish Autodiscover and also I do not have problems with selfsigned certificate.

When I try to make manual sync, I always get that error code, but after Push from the server (after some time), the phone is synced.

Please help me

linked mailboxes and outlook

Hi all;

i have two distinct AD forests, domainA.com and domainB.com. I have installed Exchange 2013 in domainA. i also configured trust approbation between the two domains, and i created a linked mailbox for a user in domainB.

i can access to the mailbox with owa with domainB\user credentials. but when i try to configure Outlook for this user in a laptop belonging to domainB, i have connection errors. it seems like Outlook cannot contact the exchange server... is there a special configuration for Outlook to be able to see the Exchange server of the other domain?

Reconciling two Outlook 2010 mailbox contact lists

$

I work daily in Outlook 2010 with two mailboxes set up - one for internal communications at work, the other primarily for external customer communications.

I want to have both mailbox contact lists to mirror each other - automatically preferred, but manual (push-button) will still work.

Another solution would be to maintain one contact list and push the list into the other mailbox - but I'm not sure the best way to do that either.

Any assistance or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sync Another Person's Diary

Hi

I've been looking for ages now (with no luck) on how to sync another person's diary with my mobile device.

I'm a PA to 4 people, and their calendar is much more important than mines, so it would be good to see at a glance what they're up to / where they are when I'm on the go. I don't want to send all their appointments from my calendar, and I'd prefer not to copy / forward them on to me either.

Is there any way to do this with a mobile device?

Thanks in advance!

Amy.

mail gets delayed in outbox with Exchange 2013 SP1/Outlook 2010

I am currently in coexistence mode with Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013.  When sending email from Outlook mail is delayed in Outbox for up to 20 seconds when using RPC/HTTP (Outlook 2010/mailbox on Exchange 2013). RPC/TCP works right away (Outlook 2010/mailbox on Exchange 2010).  I do not see any performance issues on Exchange 2013 server.  In addition 2013 OWA works right away, not sure why the delay (sometimes it goes out right away).  I see the delay with mailboxes on Exchange 2010/2013/outside of organization, but again only when connecting over Outlook Anywhere to Exchange 2013.

Address Book is not updating in Outlook but is fine in webmail after migration from Exchange 2003 to 2007

I tried downloading the address book manually but new users who have been setup on the new 2010 Exchange Server for over a month, do not appear in the Global Address book in Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013.  They appear in webmail fine.  I updated the Global Address book and made sure that there were no references to the old 2003 server.

Unable to access OWA or ECP. - "Something went wrong" or "500 unexpected error"

Our environment consist of 3 client access servers with 8 mailbox servers.  I recently installed windows updates on all of the servers.  Now when a user tries to access OWA it fails and says "Something went wrong" when I try to access ECP I receive "500 unexpected error"

I have tried building a new CAS and mailbox servers with the default settings but it still fails.  I did not install the latest Windows updates on the new servers.  I tried creating new databases with new users and it also fails.

There are also these ASP.NET 4.0.30319.0 warnings showing in the application log:

Indexing

Hi:

I have Outlook 10, version 14.0.7116.5000.  When using Outlook and doing a serch in my contacts, it get a message:

Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed.  Click here for more details.  When I click for more details, I see there are ~6500 items being indexed.

I cannot find the contact I am looking for, yet I know it is there.  Is the message of indexing normal, should it be showing up.  Is there a utility I need to run?

Thanks for the help.

Exchange 2013 with Outlook 2010 anywhere - Public Folders disappear from Outlook favourites

$

Hi,

we have a 3 server Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG published with Forefront TMG.

Outlook 2010 anywhere connection works fine (only anywhere connection is possible, there are no clients in the exchange server AD).

The users are adding public folders to their local Outlook favorites. In about 10% of the Outlook starts, those public folders are missing in the favorites. Local favorites folders are still there, public folders are connected.

After restarting the Outlook a few times, the favorites are back.

Deleting the outlook.xml brought no success, the favorites seem to be saved somewhere on the exchange server.

Outlook 2010 is up to date, all hotfixes are installed.

There are no related entries in servers or clients eventlogs, the logs of the TMG server are normal.

Does anyone have a simular behavior?

Thanks in advance!

Exchange 2003 sp2 and W8.1 Calendar app

$

Under W8.1,we encounter a problem between the application"Calendar" and our mail server in Exchange 2003sp2.
No worries to read his email and synchronize appointments between the Exchange server and apps EXCEPT if we create or modify an appointment from the calendar app in W8.1.

We then encounter the message"Problem syncing your changes..."with the options "open event" or "Eject".
Apparently we are not alone in experiencing this problem.

Is this an incompatibility with our Exchange server? Is there a fix ?

In advance thank you for your review.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 very slow start up

$

Hello there,

Whenever I log on to my Computer and open my Outlook - it takes forever to start up, it's always slow on the 'Loading profile' part. Takes about 10 mins sometimes. However this only happens when I first switch on my Computer - if I close down outlook and open it again then it loads fine, however if I were to shut down my computer and open it again - then the slow load up process would happen all over again. We currently use Microsoft exchange for our emails. And my outlook has two profiles but only uses one of them. Should I perhaps delete both profiles and create a new one? I've disabled plugins but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Michael Peters

Exchange 2013 Public Folder Accessability Issues

$

After migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 we are experiencing random issues accessing Public Folders.  Issues range from a hung server requests to on-screen errors like this one:

“Cannot expand the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance”

We are using groups to manage permissions, verified that they are mail enabled, and have used the following PS command to re-propagate permissions:

./AddUsersToPFRecursive.ps1 -TopPublicFolder "%folder%" -User "%groupname" -Permissions %permissionlevel"

The odd thing is that if the user bounces between on of their Inbox folders then back to one of the Public folders or restarts Outlook it seems to resolve itself.

Ideas?

OWA brings up logon screen but after login gives http 500 internal server error

We have 2 Exchange 2010 servers that have been in place and working great for about 15 months.  We have 1 Windows 2008 Domain Controller and 2 older Windows 2003 Domain controllers.

Earlier today we had power go out in our area and so all equipment had to be shut down.  After power was restored I began to power everything back up.  I power on the DC's first and on down the line.  After powering everything back up I began to check everything.  Email works fine using Outlook but I noticed that I could not logon thru OWA.  I get to the logon screen fine but after entering my credentials I immediately get "HTTP 500 internal server error".  I don't see any errors or issues.  I don't know where to start looking.  Can someone help me out?  HELP!!   thanks
