Outlook and Web are not finding emails with the Search feature but the email can be found manually

Exchange 2010.  For example, when searching for a word in Webmail or Outlook, some emails with the keyword are found and some are not.  If I manually search the inbox and sent items, I can find the emails with the keyword but the search is not finding it.  "Use Cached Exchange Mode" is unchecked in Outlook.

Exchange 2003, SBS Server, Outlook 2010, User Over Limit, 2 GIgs

I have a user's who's account is over limit. I have recently done a clean install of Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010. I keep trying to have his computer archive old emails but in the process the machine keeps hanging. I try to crash out Outlook but the outlook.exe process will not let me shut it down telling me access denied. The only way to recover is to completely shut down the computer (which I cannot do VIA the regular shutdown option because of outlook hanging). What do I have to do to resolve this problem? Kind of urgent as it's affecting his receiving emails.

Outlook 2013 will not connect after moving mailbox from Exchange 2010 to 2013

I am in the process of migrating mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. We use Outlook 2013 and can connect to mailboxes on Exchange 2010 with no issue. The problem is that when I migrate the mailbox to the DB on Exchange 2013 Outlook does not redirect Outlook to the new server. If outlook is open when the move is complete a message "The Exchange administrator has made a change that requires you to restart outlook". Upon reopening Outlook a prompt for credentials appears and even though I put the right username/password it keeps promtpting. If I hit cancel I get the "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete" message. Everything passes in the RPC/HTTP connectivity test at testconnectivity.microsoft.com. Not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be much appreciated.

Shared calendar - greyed out "New appointment"

I've been trying to figure this problem for hours and cant seem to get it working. I have MS Office 2013 installed on server 2008 r2 and 3 users that have been using Outlook 2013 with no problems for months.

Today one of the user cannot create new appointments for a shared calendar using her server user profile, but after hours of testing, we can add her email to other user profiles on the server and different computer systems and they all work with no problem. It seems that the problem is her local user profile on the server. Is there a way to delete all the Outlook info in her profile to restart it to default? Any other ideas?

Outlook 2010 Contact changes revert back to previous version

I have a user on a corporate domain who is using Outlook 2010 to connect to an Exchange 2010 Server.  Everything is working normally except for the user's Contacts; she is able to create new contacts with no issues.  However, when she modifies an existing contact and saves the changes, the changes will only remain for a short period of time.  Sometime after the changes are made, the contact will revert back to its original information and the changes are lost.  The amount of time between when the changes are made and the contact reverts is unpredictable and will occur even if Outlook remains open the entire time (in other words, Outlook does NOT have to be closed and re-opened for the incident to occur.)

We have even gone as far as removing the user's Outlook profile and associated files and recreating the profile on the machine.  This has not fixed the issue.

The specifics for the user:

Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

Intel Core i3 Processor with 4GB of memory

Any assistance or ideas would be appreciated!

Exchange 2013 Public Folder Calendars in OWA

Hello,

I have a Public Folder calendar that I need to publish via OWA in Exchange 2013.  I understand that you cannot view any public folder that is not mail enabled in OWA.  If I make this specific calendar mail enabled will I be able to view the calendar in OWA?  I think I still have to convert this to a shared mailbox.  If that is the case, what are the best steps to perform that?

Delayed Send/Receive w/ Exchange Server - First Draft of eMail in Sent Items

$

I have tested this on both my corporate system using Exchange and my personal system using POP/SMTP.

On my corporate/Exchange setup:

  1. Set my Options -> Send/Receive -> Uncheck "Send Immediately" -> Set Send/Receive Interval to 5 minutes
  2. Write an eMail -> Send
  3. eMail sitting in Outbox  ** Also, email copied to Sent Items folder IMMEDIATELY!
  4. Open eMail sitting in Outbox -> Edit -> Send
  5. Manually or Automatically (interval) Send/Receive  ** Sent Item email not updated

Item in Sent Items folder is the first draft, NOT the edited version.

Did the same on my personal POP/SMTP system -- email not copied to Sent Items folder until the actual Send action takes place.

How can I fix the Exchange system settings to (1) keep my Send/Receive interval settings, AND (2) not have a copy in Sent Items until the final eMail actually is sent?

Thanks!

Email Stuck in Drafts Folder

Upgraded Exchange 2013 server from RTM to SP1. Had a failure due to a corrupted system mailbox during install, but was able to complete the install. Now when I try to send email from OWA, it sits in the drafts folder. I have tried numerous fixes online, including DNS, rebuilding receive connectors, and group policy permissions. You cannot send internally or externally, but automatic replies are getting out of the server. Any help would be appreciated! All tests come back clean, and no errors related to this in the event log. The only exchange error is:

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process jobs in a mailbox database.
Database: EXC1
Error: Couldn't find system mailbox 'ab4ebb03-f251-4a5e-93f1-03129dd8dd6e' in Active Directory.

Outlook task with corrupted attached messages

Dear community,

Currently I am experencing a problem with Outlook tasks that included email attachments messages.

When open the tasks first of all i receive the error "could not open one or more atachments." and when you try to open up the attachment itself

i get the error message "one or more parameters are incorrect".

looking with mfcmapi at the attachment and his properties I noticed the strange settings or the error mentioned.

see picture

Selecting the attachment and looking at his values, the pr_attach_method propertyname dispaly a value of 0, while the object itself says method "attach_embedded_msg"; which corresponds with a value of 5.

Modifying the propertyname value seems impossible.

how can i rectify this error without performing a restore ofcourse. ;-)

and what is the root cause of this?

Hi!

I have a client with SBS2011 (Exchange 2010) and a WIN7 Pro WS with Outlook 2013.  A couple of days ago it started asking him for a password but wouldn't accept the correct one.  His password has not changed.  OWA works fine with the same credentials.  I've deleted and recreated his profile. Deleted his OST file.  No luck.  When trying to create a new profile autodiscover does not work.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Weird emails showing in Outlook 2013 Inbox after Exchange 2013 PST Import

$

Hi there,

I've just done an Import PST from Exchange 2013 using the GUI, and when it is finished, I then open Outlook 2013 I am seeing a few strange emails in the Inbox.

The PST's were from Outlook 2007, and were previously used in with POP mail.

The message is like this:

Subject: Undeliverable: Not read: RE: Re: information

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:  Not read: RE: Re: information

      Sent:     20/04/2014 11:08 p.m.

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

      Big John on 20/04/2014 11:11 p.m.

Diagnostic code = MailRecipientUnknown; Reason code = TransferImpossible; Status code = 511

            < #5.1.1 smtp;550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found>

The date and time of the message is during the import process.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

From a PST of around 8GB, I ended up with about 50 of these type of messages, mostly to the same recipients, but there were some different ones. From a mailbox of about 3GB, I got about 5 of these messages. From the smaller mailboxes I got none.

Thanks in advance,

Steve.

When resizing an appointment in Outlook 2013: The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Everytime I create an appointment in my Exchange 2010 calendar and try to resize it, I get the following error:

The reminder for "Appointment" will not appear because the item is in a folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this OK?

Of course it's not OK. :)

This is a Exchange 2010 calendar (running in cached mode), not a PST or archive. It is my actual calendar. The mailbox has been converted from Exchange 2003 to 2010 a while ago. I never had these problems in Exchange 2003.

I tried running Outlook /cleanreminders, but that doesn't help.

It also doesn't matter if Outlook is run in cached or non-cached mode.

What should I do?
