After changing password Desktop Outlook "offline" after trying to connect to client with Exchange server (Office 365 from GoDaddy)

I recently added GoDaddy's Office 365 for the Exchange Server (I currently have Office 365 Home Premium). I connected the exchange server with the desktop Outlook client without a problem. Then we changed our passwords on GoDaddy's Office 365 and the problem emerged. My iphone and Android were simple. Updated the passwords, and all was good. Emails came through just fine. BUT I can no longer connect my desktop Outlook to the Exchange server.

The error message is "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

I have un-installed and re-installed Office 365, I have tried creating new profiles for the client, and I have contacted the GeekSquad at BestBuy (the guy worked on it for 5 hours and couldn't figure it out). Here's the catch to - all 3 computers cannot connect, and we get the same error message. I can connect Gmail, and yahoo no problem. I cannot figure out a way to make my Desktop Outlook online so it will except my business domain email. (yes the online button says it's on too)

Please help!!

Guys,

here is the situation. we are just unable to make Windows 2012R2 Web Application Proxy ( in A WORKGROUP)to work with Exchange 2013 SP1 ActiveSync  using pass through Authentication. But If I joing WAP to the domain, then pass through works fine, but for security reason the Manager instist that WAP should be in a workgroup.

Does anybody out there with fresh brain manager to make WAP in a workgroup ( NOT DOMAIN JOINED), work with activesync

really appreciate ur help.

Exchange 2013 SP1 & Custom OWA Theme

$

On Friday of last week we updated from Exchange 2013 CU2 to Exchange 2013 SP1. Since updating our custom OWA theme no longer works. We configured it according to the following guide:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201700(v=exchg.150).aspx

The theme we customized was stored in the following location:

\Client Access\OWA\version\Owa2\resources\themes\"title of our theme"

Themes no longer appear to be stored in this location and I am uncertain as to where they have moved and how to apply them. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Exchange domain name change + SSL deployment

My problem: Currently OWA and ActiveSync can be accessed through https://rmt.companyname.com/owa
and https://rmt.companyname.com/Microsoft-Active-Sync with a self-signed SSL. I would like to modify my environment and get a third party SSL so i can access OWA - rmt.companyname.com, ASync - activesync.companyname.com and everything else exchange.companyname/w/e

What changes do i have to make in exchange/iis for this to work?
what certificate attributes do i have to assign?

My Environment:

Barracuda AV/Anti-spam firewall - 10.0.0.1
mail.companyname.com(MX + A)

Exchange 2010 SP1 SERVER (CA, HUB, MB Roles) - 10.0.0.2
rmt.companyname.com (A-record)

My thoughts:
1)get an A-records for exchange.companyname.com, rmt.companyname.com, activesync.companyname.com to point to 10.0.0.2
2)Full reset of Virtual directory and reassign external/internal URLs to the names mentioned above
3)Create CSR with the following names:
    CommonName: exchange.companyname.com
    AltName1: rmt.companyname.com
    AltName2: activesync.companyname.com
4)Purchase & Import certificate

I see how OWA's and ActiveSync URL can be changed, but how do i change the domain name from rmt.companyname.com to exchange.companyname.com?

Outlook Web App incorrect information about features and browser compatability

$

The Outlook Web App help pages are riddled with incorrect information. Microsoft want to charge me £199 to tell them this by phone. It is incredibly frustrating as this misleading information is preventing me from using the OWA as I need to use it.

The browser compatability list suggests that iOS6 and later supports the full/best version when they only seem to support the Light version. Using Safari on an iPad Air allows you to select the Light version when you log in but ignores your choice and forces the Light version on you whether you wanted it or not:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/support/supported-browsers-for-outlook-web-app-HA102824601.aspx

Once in the OWA light version, the instructions for switching to the full version are either out of date of simply incorrect (there are no options as described):

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/office-online-help/outlook-web-app-light-HA102846728.aspx?CTT=1

According to this help page, the From field is shown with every new email. It is not. The From field is deliberately excluded from the current Light version for some unknown reason. This is absolutely critical to me as I need to send via Exchange distribution groups:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/office-online-help/outlook-web-app-light-mail-HA102846730.aspx?CTT=1

How can Microsoft publish such misleading help information?

Action Items link in email displays a 404 error

Just installed a pair of Exchange 2013 servers in our organization and have configured a load balancer for access.  Mail flow, Activesync, calendar, etc.. are all working as expected but some emails display the Action Items link in Outlook.  When I click on it, the section expands and a 404 error is displayed.  If it were a connectivity issue with the load balancer I would expect to get a 'cannot access page' message.  This page is obviously generated by Exchange (if I scroll down it shows the same visual style as the Exchange 2013 OWA page).  I've tried searching solutions online and find plenty of information on developing Mail Apps but not much on administering them.  Anyone else run into this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Thanks!

OWA Login Authentication (Choose which one?)

$

Hi All,

I am facing an issue with the OWA login page.

From External login in I will require to login twice (First at TMG 2010, Second will be OWA 2013 interface)

From Internal login I will require to login once only (OWA 2013 interface)

I understand that I would need to put the same Authentication so External would only type in password once.

I tried putting both to basic, External manage to work as in user only require to login once, but the Internal no longer showing OWA interface, only the authentication box for username and password. Management mention that it is require to having the interface on Internal login as well.

My Aim:

  1. External only login once, with TMG interface / OWA interface
  2. Internal with OWA interface

Currently I am putting the authentication as TMG (Basic), CAS (Domain\Username)

Any ideas where can I start to check?

Thanks and Regards,

Low

Exchange 2013 sp1 affects OWA access on substandard port

Prior to SP1 i was able to run owa on port 9443. This is now an issue on sp1.

From testing what i have found is that when you access owa on a substandard port you are redirected to the auth/logon.aspx page on port 443 despite the fact that you accessed the site on a different port. After i login to the auth page i am correctly redirected back onto port 9443. The issue is that the environment i am in does not permit me to port forward 443 to the server therefore owa no longer works in this circumstance. I tried playing with urlrewrite but i believe there is a module in exchange that is fighting the rewrite. Is it possible to have this addressed? Assuming port 443 for the login page seems like a mistake since i am able to specify the port in the external url address for all services.

Outlook 2013 Exchange 2007 and 2003

I have a client who has Outlook 2013. He needs to connect to a 2007 server and a 2003 server . I have not issues with connecting to the 2007 server.  What would be the best way to connect the 2003 server?  I have tried connecting the domain directly but I get an error about setting up the ost file. The system connect to the 2007 domain.

Should I use pop3 or imap to connect?  Can you send me an article for configuring the server for either of these?

Thank you for your help.

Can't change my display name in Outlook 2010

Hi,

I'm trying to change my display name (recently married) in Outlook 2010. I looked up how to do it, and it seems easy enough, but when I get to Account Settings and click on "Change", the only thing that shows up is my server info. There's no User Information, name, etc for me to change. I'm not sure if there's a problem with administrator rights or why I can't edit it? When I go into Outlook Express to try to change it there, I can get to the Edit window, but it won't allow me to actually type/edit the information.

Thanks for your help!

Outlook /OWA apps not working

$

Hi all

I have just finished installing a production exchange 2013 install with one CAS and one MBX. All functions are working well OWA works internally and externally and users that are still on exchange 2007 are being transferred over to the old OWA when they log in. The problem that I have now is that the Outlook apps are not working in outlook 2013 or OWA.

Bing maps and Action item either fail to load or I get Navigation to this webpage was canceled. If I hit the refresh the page link I get there was a problem with this websites security cert. If I then click continue I get a 404 cant find page.

This happens to all users that have been moved over the the ex2013 server.

I have a feeling this is an internal url problem as I think the cert being sent is for the private cert and not the public cert

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks in advance

Send As and Full Controll permissions not working in OWA

I have an exchange 2013 enviroment where I work with send as and full access permisions via Active Directory groups.

I have given the group FC on a shared maibox and in outlook, the user who is member of this group can open the additional mailbox.

In owa the same user cannot open the additional mailbox, exept when I give the user directly FC on this mailbox.

How do I configure Exchange so the user can access the additional mailbox in owa, without giving him directly FC permissions.

btw In an exchange 2010 enviroment this issue is not there.

Exchange 2013 OWA user must change password at next logon not working

Hi,

I have installed Exchange 2013 on Windows 2012 Server. I create users in ECP and select "user must change password at next logon" option. When newly created user logs in, the OWA page doesn't prompt for password change and just throws error "The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again"

I have enabled Change Password feature in CAS server, but still not working.

Any answers, suggestions would be great help

Hello,

I am setting up a new user in a client of mine who has SBS 2011 with exchange server.

At this point the new user can access the OWA, send/receive emails to internal/external addresses, and hi can see the emails sent to the rest of the users, but he cannot see the emails that the rest of the users send.

The users are all in the same group. How do I solve this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Ensure client check SCP for autodiscover

How can I ensure that Outlook client checks SCP for autodiscover? I have a feeling that my internal client skips SCP check for autodiscover and looking for DNS autodiscover record first, because when I delete this record client auto configuration fails.

Exchange 2013 Public Folders external issues

Hello,

I am having some issues with gaining access to my public folders externally.

OS: Windows Server 2012 Datacenter

Exchange: 2013 with SP1

Domain: i.client.local

External & internal hostname: ex01.client.dk

I have tried from Windows 7 with Outlook 2010, and Windows 8 with Outlook 2013. (I have also tried to apply patch from: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839517)

If I try to access public folders, I get this error:

Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange.

If I try to access public folders with cache enabled, I get this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2788136

I have tried deleting all public folders, public folder databases, and the related mailbox database. And creating all again, however with same result.

Task reminders and appointments/meetings don't sync (OL2013, EX2010)

We have a user that is experiencing the following:

  • When flagging a message for follow up, user gets a sync error message and the change is undone
  • User cannot edit meetings, but can remove and re-add the meeting with changes
  • User can create new meetings
  • Keep finding references to old contacts in "Local Failures" even though they have been removed
  • These issues seem to be present regardless of PC
  • These issues do not seem to be present in webmail

Troubleshooting steps so far:

  • Open Outlook with flags /resetnavpane, /cleanviews, /cleanreminders
  • Delete OST file and resync
  • Recreate the user's Outlook profile
  • Reinstall Office 2013
  • Try accessing the account on a different PC
  • Move mailbox to a different Exchange mailbox database
  • Try accessing the account via webmail - this DOES work

These are the errors the user reported:

Meeting room response message shows as plain text in outlook.

Hi everyone,

We recently encountering a problem described as below.

1. a meeting room resource setup.

2. after we sent a meeting request to the meeting room, we can receive the request accepted like below.

but the content shows as plaintext (I already setup additionalresponse like "<font color=red>TEST</font>", anyway the words should have color)

after all, i found everything in OWA is fine.

So, i want to know why this happened? and any setting on outlook and exchange server can fix this? thank you
