Lost inbox mail suddenly...can't find...back emails must retrieve for business
OWA - Message Mangling in Chrome
Hi All
A bit of a strange one that's only cropped up since installing SP1
If I compose an email in OWA in Chrome and use tab to move from the subject line to the main text, when the recipient receives the email there is a"?" before the main text - the recipient can be using a mail client or a browser to view the email.
I have seen the "?" appearing in the Windows 8.1 Mail client and GMail so far (but the same email will not show the "?" in OWA).
All I can guess is that somehow the tab character is getting inserted. Chrome is up-to-date and it doesn't occur when the message is composed in IE or Firefox.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers
Andy
"Exchange Server 2003" Public folder access within OWA
Hello,
I can connect to my exchange server 2003 (I know I have to upgrade) with OWA through an alias (webmail). After connecting in OWA, when I click a button in the navigation bar (contact, rules, ...), it's working OK except for public folders. When I click on public folders button, IE open a new window with this URL https://<netbios server name>/public instead of https://webmail/public. I googled around and found a thread explaining how this problem can be address by modifying navbar.js. But in my situation navbar.js and every other files located in ..\exchweb\control doesn't seem to be access anymore, they have been replaced by those here ..\exchweb\6.5.7651.60. There is no navbar.js in this folder but a vw_navbar.js. I can't find the code I have to modify like in navbar.js to to address the problem.
Thanks for your help.

OWA 2013 SP1 - New mail notification sound missing
Can someone confirm that this has been broken in SP1 or do I have a misconfiguration on my servers?
Thank you
Daniel
Lync 2013 with Exchange 2013 SP1 OWA integration failed
I had a working solution Exchange 2013 + Lync2013 integrated in OWA.
I've installed SP1 for Exchange 2013 and now it doesn't work :(
I did the integration again
(added 2 strings in web.config:
<add key="IMCertificateThumbprint" value=".............."/>
<add key="IMServerName" value="Lync2012server.mydomain.com"/>)
but it doesn't help.
What changed in SP1? Why Lync integration doesn't work now?
Unable to configure Outlook with Autodiscover
Hi All,
After many research, I'm definitely despite as I found nothing that can help me to resolve this issue.
When I want to set up an Outlook externally, the configuration failed with the following message :
'No encrypted connexion is available to your exchange server'
With https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com, everything seems to be well and good configured.
With Test-Autodiscover... cmdlet, everything is fine too.
I try to change a lot of settings into IIS or Echange but nothing change the result, always the same error.
This appends only for external users, internally everything remains good.
Thank you by advanced for your help,
Jean-Yves F.
Outlook - search matches disappear when they are modified
Dear All,
I would need help with a topic that is killing me.
I have a company email address and a shared mailbox that our team uses. After my PC was reimaged, I received Outlook 2013 - previously i had Outlook 2010 with which I did not have this problem.
Ever since I have Outlook 2013, I have the following issue (only in the shared mailbox, not in my personal inbox!):
- I search for a keyword
- matches are displayed
- I modify a match and then it immediately disappears. E.g.: I flag the email or categorize it, then it immediately disappears. Or I click on it so it is no longer unread, but read - this is again a change, and it disappears.
- disappearing means only that it disappears from the search results, it is not deleted.
- if I clear the search field, and all the emails are displayed and then I search again for the same keyword, I again have all the results.
It is very difficult to work like this, as I have to categorize and flag emails in our shared mailbox. Previously, with Outlook 2010, I just searched for a keyword, flagged and categorized the emails at one go. Now I have to search, flag, delete search field, search again, categorize, delete the search field, search again, move the mails, etc. This is very bad. :)
If someone could help me with this, that we be fantastic! Thank you!
Olivia
Mismatched Address. Certificate issues
I have a strange issue I am hoping someone can help me solve.
Basically I run SBS2011 (Exchange 2010). I have a self signed certificate that works fine for all existing clients and myself. (using OWA or http over RPC). My Outlook client connects with no problem at all, I use it daily as do some of the consultants that work for us.
I have tried connecting new user up via Outlook over RPC, or a existing user on a new PC (off site) and I get the mismatched Address error. It seems to be the same certificate used as the PC's that are working.
I also get some strange results from the test connectivity.
It is failing on the Certificate, Certificate trust is being validated, Attempting each method of contacting the Autodiscover service
Any help will be appreciated, one of the messages is below, don't understand how a few work and some don't??

Issue with OWA (404 error)
Issue with OWA (404 error)
From the server itself i can use IPv6 https://[fe80::feef:ff56:c498:1f0]/owa - this opens the mailbox.
https://127.0.0.1/owa - this opens the mailbox
https://localhost/owa - this results in 404 - File or directory not found
using https://servername/owa - this results in 404 - file or directory not found
using https://192.168.10.10 - this results in 404 - file or directory not found
is this an issue with IIS bindings?
thanks in advance
Outlook 2010, Attachment is corrupt or cut
Hello,
we have a Problem with Outlook 2010 connected to a exchange 2013.
If we actived the cache modus and we receive an email with an attached email, the atteched email ist cutted. If we switch of the cache modus or we look with OWA into the mailbox, all seems to be fine.
If we look with outlook 2013 into the mailbox, all seems to be fine, too.
We have installed the newest service packs and hotfixes to the office. How can we solve this issue?

Exchange 2013 - OWA Password Expired - Requiring DOMAIN\Username
Hello,
We have recently upgraded from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 CU2. When a user's password expires and they login to OWA, the system allows them to change the password. However, Exchange 2013 OWA requires them to use the format 'DOMAIN\username' and it will not except just the username or username@domain.com. This was not an issue in Exchange 2010.
Is there a way to resolve this issue?
Thank you
Update from Exchange 2013 Cu2 to SP1 - Outlook 2010 with SP2 clients disconnected
Hi,
we recently upgraded a standalone Exchange 2013 Server to SP1. Owa works fine, but all internal Outlook 2010 Clients (with SP2) get disconnected. Creating a new Profile, and testing the internal autodiscovery leeds to an Error 12030 (Connection reset) during the discovery process.
I already checked the Service Point, the discovery URLs, even recreated the autodiscover virtual Directory in iis. But nothing changed.
The self signed certificate, that was used before the update is further used, and well known to all Clients. As I tested, OWA is working well everywhere.
Anyone some new ideas?
Best regards
Bernhard
[Exchange 2010] Autodiscover on outlook 2010 doesn't work and OWA can't be browsed internally
Hi,
Since this morning, I'm getting weird issues with Exchange.
1) Some people can open OWA with Firefox but with IE or Chrome can't. On Chrome, it says the certificate is malformed and hence it can't open the website. I can access OWA externally.
2) Some users are getting security alert for OWA and autodiscover certificate.
3) Autodiscover doesn't work and it failed to connect when I run test connectivity and configuration from Outlook client.
Has anyone had any similar issues like this?
Since that we didn't make any change to the environment and email is going through fine via outlook, I'm afraid to do some config changes on Exchange.
Thanks,
John

After all required configuration , i am still unable to preview the office documents from OWA
Receiving the following messages by clicking on the Preview link next to the attachment:

OWA 2013 SP1 - New mail notification sound missing
Can someone confirm that this has been broken in SP1 or do I have a misconfiguration on my servers?
Thank you
Daniel
After removing public folder database Outlook 2010 SP2 clients getting proxy security certificate error
All mailboxes have been moved from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 and were working. We wanted to turn off the Exchange 2007 server to see what would happen before we uninstall Exchange 2007. The help desk lit up with calls concerning a proxy server security certificate error and Outlook 2010 connectivity issues. We turned on the Exchange 2007 server and the errors went away. I was hoping that removing the public folder database would solve the problem. We did not migrate the public folders because we do not want them. All the public folders were deleted. An attempt to remove the database resulted in "Object is read only because it was created by a future version of Exchange." After much research, decided the only way to get rid of it was ADSIEdit. Immediately after removing the public folder database, Outlook 2010 users intermittently get "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail2.contesso.com. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error code 0)". I assure you the certificate matches the name of the 2013 server FQDN exactly. My theory is these clients are looking for the public folders. Any idea how to correct this before the users arrive for work in the morning?
