Exchange 2013 Public Folders external issues

$

Hello,

I am having some issues with gaining access to my public folders externally.

OS: Windows Server 2012 Datacenter

Exchange: 2013 with SP1

Domain: i.client.local

External & internal hostname: ex01.client.dk

I have tried from Windows 7 with Outlook 2010, and Windows 8 with Outlook 2013. (I have also tried to apply patch from: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839517)

If I try to access public folders, I get this error:

Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange.

If I try to access public folders with cache enabled, I get this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2788136

I have tried deleting all public folders, public folder databases, and the related mailbox database. And creating all again, however with same result.

I have a user that when she opens up an email from her inbox and then deletes it, it will go away but when it takes her back to her inbox and she moves the mouse over the other emails in the inbox it will start to duplicate the emails that are in the inbox.

If she closes out and opens back up OL the inbox is fine. If she deletes an email from within her inbox it is fine. This only happens from an email that is open.

We have created the OST file twice, ran detect and repair..

OWA redirects to 2007 for a 2013 mailbox

I have one user that has been migrated to Exchange 2013 but when they log into OWA they get redirected to the 2007 legacy OWA server.

I have verified that the mailbox is on a 2013 database.

Any ideas on how to get them using the 2013 OWA like everyone else?

Migrated Mailboxes from 2010 to 2013 have a blank OfflineAddressBook

Good morning! We're in the midst of migrating user mailboxes from Exchange 2010 SP3 to Exchange 2013 CU3.

I've done some research on this topic and discovered that for what ever reason in the EAC that the 2013 MBD didn't have an assigned Default Offline Address List assigned under Client Settings. Corrected this issue.

When running Get-Mailbox billg | fl Name, OfflineAddressBook,Database against a migrated mailbox I get the following output (Note the OfflineAddressBook: is blank:

Name               : Bill Gardner
OfflineAddressBook :
Database           : Mailbox Database 1028547986

From the Outlook 2010 and 2013 clients we are recieving the following error:

Task usera reported error (0x80190194) : 'The operation failed.'

The Exchange server migration state is:

There are still a few User Mailboxes that need to be migrated off of 2010.
Public Folders have yet to be migrated from 2010 to 2013.

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Regards, Bill

OWA logs user out when they try to set an Out Of Office Message

After upgrading to Exchange 2013 users can no longer set their Out Of Office (via OWA option 'Set Automatic Replies'). When a user tries to do so via OWA they are immediately logged out and get the error message "The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again."

We are currently on CU3, not sure if the problem was introduced in Exchange 2013 initially or once CU3 was applied.

Users see the same behavior when they try to check a Message Delivery Report via OWA.

Unable to send after migration

I have successfully migrated over 100 mailboxes from Ex2007 to Ex2013 with no issues.  I have one mailbox giving me a tonne of grief.  After the migration from 2007 to 2013 the wizard did report the migration completed successfully.  However, when the user opens the inbox using her Outlook 2007 client she is able to compose and send emails.  Any recipients of her emails are not able to reply to them.  Same goes with any emails this user receives, she is not able to reply to them.

OWA Login Authentication (Choose which one?)

Hi All,

I am facing an issue with the OWA login page.

From External login in I will require to login twice (First at TMG 2010, Second will be OWA 2013 interface)

From Internal login I will require to login once only (OWA 2013 interface)

I understand that I would need to put the same Authentication so External would only type in password once.

I tried putting both to basic, External manage to work as in user only require to login once, but the Internal no longer showing OWA interface, only the authentication box for username and password. Management mention that it is require to having the interface on Internal login as well.

My Aim:

  1. External only login once, with TMG interface / OWA interface
  2. Internal with OWA interface

Currently I am putting the authentication as TMG (Basic), CAS (Domain\Username)

Any ideas where can I start to check?

Thanks and Regards,

Low

Moving from wildcard certificate to san certificate and possible end user impacts

I am preparing for a migration so I am verifying potential issues to control the problem.

What happens when you change the msstd from *.domain.com to mail.domain.com (with the corresponding certificate update) and a new user opens his Outlook client with the old setting

will it be prompt for an error or will it check with autodiscover to try to fix itself before warning the user?

how can I minimize that possibility. what will it happen to a user that has outlook open at that moment will the autoupdate force the user to reopen Outlook?

does it matter if users may have a different combination of fast/slow networks checks on their Exchange Proxy?

Also, does anyone knows of a good tool or command to check what is the current outlook profile TTL value on my machine? (for troubleshooting purposes)

thanks for any assistance

"Exchange Server 2003" Public folder access within OWA

$

Hello,

I can connect to my exchange server 2003 (I know I have to upgrade) with OWA through an alias (webmail). After connecting in OWA, when I click a button in the navigation bar (contact, rules, ...), it's working OK except for public folders. When I click on public folders button, IE open a new window with this URL https://<netbios server name>/public instead of https://webmail/public. I googled around and found a thread explaining how this problem can be address by modifying navbar.js. But in my situation navbar.js and every other files located in ..\exchweb\control doesn't seem to be access anymore, they have been replaced by those here ..\exchweb\6.5.7651.60. There is no navbar.js in this folder but a vw_navbar.js. I can't find the code I have to modify like in navbar.js to to address the problem.

Thanks for your help.

I have recently purchase a new PC which has Windows 8.1, and Outlook 2013, connected to an exchange 2010 SP3 RU4 server.

In the People pane, the for External clients, then this box populates correctly, but for internal domain users, it shows "There are no items to show in this view"

On my OLD PC using XP, and Outlook 2010, connected to the SAME account, then people pane shows correctly for all users.

Any help appreciated

OWA - Message Mangling in Chrome

$

Hi All

A bit of a strange one that's only cropped up since installing SP1

If I compose an email in OWA in Chrome and use tab to move from the subject line to the main text, when the recipient receives the email there is a"?" before the main text - the recipient can be using a mail client or a browser to view the email.

I have seen the "?" appearing in the Windows 8.1 Mail client and GMail so far (but the same email will not show the "?" in OWA).

All I can guess is that somehow the tab character is getting inserted.  Chrome is up-to-date and it doesn't occur when the message is composed in IE or Firefox.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Andy

Suggestions required for automating and customising signatures.

Hi,

We are looking for a solution where by we take control of signatures away from users and have them administered centrally from the server and use AD attributes to customise the signatures. We are currently trailing software Exclaimer! which gives a wealth of signature options, however we have hit a roadblock for which we need advice.

The large majority of our users work in groups, each group works out of a 'Shared Mailbox' and they are all given Send As permission so that they can send email from that mailbox. As an example they all send from a mailbox with the addresssupport@email.com.

We now want to add their signatures from the server when the emails go out and in the process customise the signature with their attributes e.g. full name, title, contact details, company etc.  The issue we have run into is the because they are sending from a Group Mailbox the Exclaimer software has no way of identifying which user is sending emails and therefore cannot attribute that persons particular information. I have spoken to Exclaimer and they advise the only way around this is by having users 'Send on behalf of' which we do not want to do.

Can anyone recommend a solution either within Exchange Server (we are using 2010) or Windows Server (we are using 2008 R2) or third-party software which would allow us to achieve the desired outcome.

Thanks.

Require Logon Using Secure Password Authentication does not work with plaintextlogin on the server side

Hi All ;

We are in the middle of a migration Project but we stuck with this pop3 setting. Most of the mailboxes uses pop3 to connect Exchange 2010 with the setting spa + port 110 on the client side. We want to give same authentication options for the pop3 settings on 2013 side but when spa is selected the pop3 rejects the connection with the following error.

Your e-mail server rejected your login with SPA.

So both settings for pop3 protocol is same but the client cannot connect from 2013 server.

Where can i enable this feature from Exchange 2013 .

Lync 2013 with Exchange 2013 SP1 OWA integration failed

$

I had a working solution Exchange 2013 + Lync2013 integrated in OWA.

I've installed SP1 for Exchange 2013 and now it doesn't work :(

I did the integration again
(added 2 strings in web.config:
<add key="IMCertificateThumbprint" value=".............."/>
<add key="IMServerName" value="Lync2012server.mydomain.com"/>)
but it doesn't help.

What changed in SP1? Why Lync integration doesn't work now?

Upgraded to Exchange 2010 now outlook 2013 can't connect externally

Outlook 2013 used to connect to my exchange server via our TMG before upgrading to 2010. At first the clients were changed back to NTLM all the time but I fixed that and we now see basic with SSL. Now we get repeated logon.

I have used rpc connectivity analyser and it tells me that my (self issued) certificate doesn't chain properly - but the signing certificate is loaded on the client (by Enterprise CA policy) and looking at the mail server certificate in the certificate manger reports the certificate to be good and correctly shows the chain (so is this a problem in the anyalyzer or does outlook constrcut its certificate chain using a different code library than say IE?).

Oddly Windows 8.1's mail cient works flawlessly when outlook 2013 goes into loops?

Any suggestions?

In the mailbox delegation area of the Exchange Control Panel for one of my employee's mailboxes that I want access to, I've added my name to the "Send As," "Send on Behalf," and "Full Access."  I’d like it to have the “Send on Behalf” but not the “Send As.” I’ve tried removing it but keep getting this error when I save.

"Send on Behalf" and "Full Access" have my full name and company name listed under "Display Name", whereas, "Send As" is just "tim."

What do I need to do to fix this?

Thank you!

Tim
