I have some users with at least 2 additional mailboxes, and if the user need to reply an email that is in the inbox of the additional mailbox, by default the smtp that shows in the from field is from the additional mailbox. Then the user must change the email address to yours every times, because he always need that the email address was yours.

Thanks in advance.

Receiving NDR with "MapiExceptionObjectDeleted" from time to time

Hi everyone,

We have an AD user with Exchange mailbox who is logged on terminal server 24/7 and the purpose of this user is to receive automated emails (reports) from our customers.

Some of our customers have reported that from time to time (like 5-6 times per week which is around 2% from the whole amount of emails sent to this user) their emails get bounced by this user and they receive NDR with "MapiExceptionObjectDeleted"

Does anyone know what exactly does "MapiExceptionObjectDeleted" mean and why it could be happening in so few cases? All emails are sent in the same way (simple text report sent from Outlook)

Thanks for any ideas.

Exchange seems to Overwrite Clients Favorites MSX 2013 CU3 Office 2013

Hi,

it seems that exchange 2013 overwrites the users favorite list everytime it starts.
we start outlook 2013; we add some favorites to the favorites list and restart the software
some, not all favorites will disappear. if we start the client ( outlook 2013 ) again some other
favorites will disapear until the whole list is emtpy.

it doesnt matter if
- the client is within the AD
- GPOs activated or not
- own mailbox or other mapped mailbox content is linked as favorite

BUT when i deactivate the connection to the exchange server 2013 cu3/disable the NIC
the favorites are still in place as we wish.

where does this come from ? how can i disable this ?

Setup:

Windows 7 Clients, Outlook 2010 - Outlook 2013, AD, 2 Exchange Server 2013 CU3.

thx in advance!

Move Message with Attachment from one Mailbox to another problem

$

Hi,

starting with Exchange 2013 we have following odd thing.

(That happens with Outlook 2010 aswell as Outlook 2013).

My mailbox has several other mailboxes mounted aswell. (using Full Access at ECP Settings), aswell as one separate Exchange Mailbox with own User/Password.

Now, when I have an Email with an attachment (like Word, .jpg, whatever), I used to move it to another mailbox by using "drag & drop".

The mail was moved to the mailbox without noticable changes.

Starting with Exchange 2013, the Mail is changed into Rich Text. That means, the attachment now appears somewhere within the message, instead as real attachment. Some attachments are also lost, and as the message was moved, the only way to recover it is using our external Email Archive.

Is this a bug, or didn't I see any option that results in this odd behaviour?

Moving to a different folder does work as expected, but not to another mailbox.

Thanks

Patrick

Online Archive only visible in Outlook 2010 after OWA logon

Dear.

We implemented Exchange 2010 native archiving. We created our own retention policies, applied them to the mailboxes and archiving started successfully exactly as we want it.

We’re using Outlook 2010 clients with both: cached and non-cached mode. The strange thing is that for the online archive to be visible in outlook, the user needs to logon to OWA  first and only once. Afterwards, online archive stills visible in Outlook 2010.

Is there any other way to make the online archive visible without forcing the user to do a one-time logon to OWA?

Thanks for the feedback.
Regards.

Surface RT Mail doesn't Sync for 13 Days!

Hi Folks, I have a work email using Exchange Server 2003. It hasn't been able to sync for the past 13 days, no update on mails and calendar. Any idea why? It works okay on my Note 3 phone, and even at TouchDown in Surface RT, just not the original Mail App of Surface RT.

So frustrating!

slow online mode "browsing"

Hi there,

Currently my configuration is exchange 2013 CU3 with windows 2012 server (fully patched and up to date)

my issue is with internal network slow outlook clients working with online mode (long delays when going from one message to another)

OWA mail browse is very fast though with no delays what so ever (IE8/9/10/11/Chrome)

I know that Microsoft recommend working with cache mode, but sometimes cache mode is not applicable like Terminal servers environment.

is there any way to improve online mode speeds? (exchange 2010/7 has not delays with outlook internal clients)

any ideas??

Thanks Ahead

Shared contacts in Outlook Web App

Hi

We have different customers which started to work with Exchange 2013, and they need to share some contact address lists to be accessible in outlook web app.

In Exchange 2010 the solution was to provide these external contact lists using public folders.  But as I found in different postings, Exchange 2013 Outlook Web App can only display “mail public folders”, or public folders that contain “mail and post items”. Other folders like calendars, contacts, tasks, and so forth are unsupported.

By searching for a solution, I found that this feature seems to be missing by a lot of MS customers. My question is, do you (Microsoft) plan to bring that back in the future?

Outlook /OWA apps not working

$

Hi all

I have just finished installing a production exchange 2013 install with one CAS and one MBX. All functions are working well OWA works internally and externally and users that are still on exchange 2007 are being transferred over to the old OWA when they log in. The problem that I have now is that the Outlook apps are not working in outlook 2013 or OWA.

Bing maps and Action item either fail to load or I get Navigation to this webpage was canceled. If I hit the refresh the page link I get there was a problem with this websites security cert. If I then click continue I get a 404 cant find page.

This happens to all users that have been moved over the the ex2013 server.

I have a feeling this is an internal url problem as I think the cert being sent is for the private cert and not the public cert

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks in advance

Exchange 2013 CU3 - 0x80040115 on Windows XP Clients Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 - Multiple Mailboxes

We started to experience 0x80040115 on Windows XP Clients with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 since the upgrade to Exchange 2013 CU3 (on CU2 v2 we didn't experience it).

We also found the following: if we create a new profile/delete the ost file, Outlook works for a few hours, if we close additional mailboxes, the issue disappears.

Is it a known bug?

Thanks,

Simone

Outlook/Exchange Won't Deliver Duplicate Messages

For testing purposes, I often send multiple automated messages to myself that are identical and it seems that Outlook/Exchange is being "smart" by not delivering subsequent messages that are the same.

Does anyone know is this is the case? If so, can I turn this functionality off?

Outlook 2010 - Could not connect to public folder server

Hi,

I just setup a brand new Exchange 2013 mail server. I get 'Could not connect to public folder server' in Outlook 2010 only and not in Outlook 2013. Is this normal? We are not using public folders at all and we don't have them setup in Exchange 2013.

Outlook 2010 -> sync issues ->

17:08:02                               Could not connect to public folder server.

17:08:02                               [0-0]

Outlook 2013 -> sync issues ->

Doesn't have  'Could not connect to public folder server' error.

Thanks

Exchange 2013 Public Folders search not returning all results

$

I've just migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013 and all went ok apart from the usual migration hiccups.

Public folders was a pain but ended up working. I have an odd issue though that when I open Outlook 2010 and navigate to the PF and search for an item it doesn't return all results. It actually returns not many at all. The same records are returned and not returned, so for example if I search for 'a' or 'd' or 'da' it will always return the Dave record, but never return Dan record.

I turned off the Search Host Controller service and found I actually get more results returned correctly but still not all results. I've since turned it on because I don't think it is a good idea to leave it off.

I've created a new folder and added new entries and the search seems to work fine (although there isn't as many entries as the actual one so I need to test further) so it seems like it's an issue with the migrated folders.

The 2007 server is still turned on and I haven't removed the PF which is the last step of the migration but I don't want to do that till I'm happy all is fine.

Any ideas?

Side note, I did make a mistake of doing the migration while Exchange 2013 was RTM not updated to CU3. I'm a rookie and when Exchange checked for updates and found none I figured I was good to go. Everything went fine though. When the PF migrated I kept getting a transient error ResourceUnhealthyException but after a few shots it just started working. The PF folder structure and perms are all fine. I've now upgraded to CU3 but my only issue is this search issue.

Adding a Microsoft Exchange Accout to Outlook 2010 Error

$

Because of my business, I need a Microsoft Exchange account set up and I'm having the most difficult time. When I go to add an email account in Outlook and automatically set-up it fails. When I manually go to set up an exchange email it tells me Outlook can not be online and running at the same time as adding the exchange account. When I close Outlook, go to mail in the control panel and try adding the exchange account there, it then mockingly tells me Outlook now Needs to be online and connected. I have no idea what I could possibly do or what I am doing wrong, and there is no way I am paying $260 for Microsoft to fix a problem that should not be there in the first place. If anyone has any idea at all of what I can do to resolve this I would be entirely grateful!

Public Folders credentials prompt after migration to 2013

$

As part of our migration from 2010 to 2013, we have just moved our public folders across to 2013. In doing this, some, but not all, Outlook Clients are asking for credentials to access the public folders everytime Outlook opens. Looking at the connection status in outlook while the prompt is open, it is already saying the connection is established. The client still says connected even when cancelling the prompt. This is driving users mad. Our exchange is external to the LAN domain, and have checked the OutlookAnywhere External Authentication method are set to NTLM. I have created new outlook profiles, cleared windows credential manager on clients, used domain\username as well as UPN, and checked the autodiscover address is correct, all to no avail. The affected clients already have http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2817371 applied to them.

I am really not sure where to go next. Any help is much appreciated.

Synchronizing Outlook 2013 Contacts, Tasks, Notes and Calendar with Samsung Galaxy S4 Running Adroid 4.3 Locally

$

Hello:

I have Outlook 2013 32bit running on Windows 7 Prof. 64bit in a stand alone environment as opposed to being connected to an Exchange server and urgently need to synchronize my Outlook's Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes with a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.3 OS "Locally" using a USB cable. We have no Exchange server. Can I accomplish this task with any Microsoft software? What is your suggestions either way? I have already spent a lot of time trying "Kies3" from Samsung and that program is a piece of junk to put it nicely; Samsung has a major "misrepresentation" there!

Thank you very much to anybody who can lend a hand and help us.

Exchange domain name change + SSL deployment

$

My problem: Currently OWA and ActiveSync can be accessed through https://rmt.companyname.com/owa
and https://rmt.companyname.com/Microsoft-Active-Sync with a self-signed SSL. I would like to modify my environment and get a third party SSL so i can access OWA - rmt.companyname.com, ASync - activesync.companyname.com and everything else exchange.companyname/w/e

What changes do i have to make in exchange/iis for this to work?
what certificate attributes do i have to assign?

My Environment:

Barracuda AV/Anti-spam firewall - 10.0.0.1
mail.companyname.com(MX + A)

Exchange 2010 SP1 SERVER (CA, HUB, MB Roles) - 10.0.0.2
rmt.companyname.com (A-record)

My thoughts:
1)get an A-records for exchange.companyname.com, rmt.companyname.com, activesync.companyname.com to point to 10.0.0.2
2)Full reset of Virtual directory and reassign external/internal URLs to the names mentioned above
3)Create CSR with the following names:
    CommonName: exchange.companyname.com
    AltName1: rmt.companyname.com
    AltName2: activesync.companyname.com
4)Purchase & Import certificate

I see how OWA's and ActiveSync URL can be changed, but how do i change the domain name from rmt.companyname.com to exchange.companyname.com?
