Email Contact problem

$

0

My new computer uses Windows 10. I absolutely hate it but must use it because earlier versions of Windows are no longer installed.

My problem is when I enter contacts in my email account, not all are recognized.  I have entered my sister's email address multiple times and it still won't come up when I want to write to her.  Others I have entered work fine.

I have no clue what is going on with this program but I wish they would go back to their Windows 7 email set up.  I can't even permanently make the font larger in the program.  It keeps coming up in size 11 but I prefer 18 because of my eyesight.  I have to change the font every time I write to someone.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Outlook access in remote forest - no permission to send email

Hello,

One of our customers is migrating AD and Exchange 2007 to another forest. Some user and computer accounts have already been migrated but nothing has changed at the Exchange level. Users open their Outlook using sourcedomain\useraccount and their password, and this works for everyone.

Now some users do not have permission to send email, although they are perfectly capable of opening Outlook and connecting to Exchange. The same user account on another PC gives exactly the same problem.

We have double checked permissions and AD user settings but cannot find what's wrong with these users. >80% of users do not have any problem.

If in the profile settings we enable the option "Always prompt for logon credentials", the user is indeed prompted, can enter again sourcedomain\username and his password, and everything works like it should. The user can send email. Activating the option "Remember my credentials" in that window does not work, probably because of the other option.

Any idea what could cause this?

Public Folder in Exchange 2013 not accessable by Windowx XP client running Office 2010

Hi,

Currently, I'm facing another problem where my users whose system are still running Windows XP were not able to access the public folder which reside on the Exchange 2013 server.  Base on the url "https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg/kb/2918951", after installing SP1 or higher CU for Exchange 2013, Client whose system which still run Windows XP with Office 2010 should able to access public folder reside in Exchange 2013.  My exchange server 2013 are on CU14 and my user are still not able to access the public folder.

Does any of you face the same problem as me and had any solution to your problem.  We can't change all system to windows 7 or higher at one goes, so any solution would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Rule to move my bosses invites to folder worked when I was the main delegate, not now when I am only a backup

I get copies of all invite forms. They were sent to a folder via a rule until I got a new job and am no longer that person's secretary. Here is the detail: I still get copies of all the invite forms so I can work as a backup secretary if the new person is sick. Rule does not move items into the folder anymore. I see that I am not the named "optional" person on the invite (the new secretary is) so how do I get the items to automatically move into the folder?

Hi All,

I am running primary site and DR site. In primary site have one CAS server with two Mailbox servers with DAG. In DR site have One CAS server and One Mailbox server which is part of primary site DAG. All infrastructure is on Hyper-V and all exchange machines are on virtualization.

Before deploying Exchange server in DR Site, outlook users were connecting normally and didn't face any issue. After installing Exchange server in DR site the connection of outlook is too slow that taking approix 15 mins to connect with Exchange server.

Kindly guide that what happens and how to troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks in Advance

Outlook .OST file issue

I'm using Outlook 2016 in Windows 10 and every time I close at the end of the day, when I restart the next day my Outlook starts but then gives an error that it can't start and then closes. I have deleted my .OST file and then restarted Outlook where everything works fine until I close Outlook. The process repeats itself every time. This started after the last major Microsoft updates. I also tried creating a new profile with the same result.

Outlook clients freeze temporarily when public folder calendar is updated.

We have a mix of Outlook 2010 and 2013 clients.  When a user updates a shared calendar that all users have access too, we see the Outlook client freeze (hour glass cursor) for 15 to 45 seconds before return to normal operation.   Exchange is 2013 CU 12.

We recently replaced the firm's legacy shared calendar which had 60,000 items in it, with a new blank calendar, but are still seeing the same issue.  Any recommendation would be appreciated.

Thank you

Outlook 2013 Meeting On behalf of someone else

Hi,

I want to know if it's possible to avoid that a meeting scheduled by a user on behalf of other appears to the attendees with the title "user1 on behalf of user2".

I would like that the attendees receive the meeting invite as it is coming from user2, though it has been sent by user1. User1 has full permission to user2 calendar and manages it.

Is it possible? Thanks.

Simple question. In my Outlook 2013 clients, when I want to create a new .PST file, I have the choice of "Office Outlook Personal Folders File" and "Outlook data file" - both .PST.

But nowhere can I find any information telling me the difference between them.

Can anyone let me know please?

Thank you.

MS Outlook 2013 Mailbox Wizard cannot locate Exchange Server 2013 mailboxes (clean installation)

Hi,

We have a clean installation of MS Exchange Server 2013 CU15 in a virtual environment with CAS and MBS roles each on a separate VM.
We are able to launch the Exchange Server Admin page on CAS and log in ok. This has been used to create mailboxes. All other settings are default ones.
On launching Outlook 2013 on a workstation the Outlook mailbox connection wizard appears and auto populates with the correct email address. However it fails to connect to the Exchange Server.
There is an SSL cert error popup and when accepting the certificate (or installing it) it still fails. A popup appears which has populated the Exchange Server name with a long <GUID>@ourdomain.com.
I cannot see this GUID within DNS for it to resolve so don't know where that has come from (possibily the cert?). If i insert the normal <exchange server name>@ourdomain.com it still fails to connect.

With our previous installation of Exchange Server 2010 / Outlook 2010 it just picked up the mailboxes from the wizard without any issues or special configuration.

Exchange Server 2013 Std is installed on Windows 2012 Server R2 and Outlook 2013 is running in Win 7 Ent SP1.

Any pointers on where to start digging on this?

Thanks

Can I disable auto-categorisation of mails in conversation view

$

On top of flagging, I'm also using categories to identify mails which I need for future work. I don't want to flag them all as then I have too many tasks. Sometimes there's 1 big task for which I need multiple mails as input. Therefore I categorize those mails, drag them to the appropriate folder & then I create a search folder based on that category, showing the items in that search folder together with the folder they are located in.

But I also need the conversation view in my inbox.

And those two things don't work well together as outlook is automatically categorizing replies to my categorized mail (which I call "use for action").

Result is that way too many mails get that category and my approach in the search folder is not longer working.

Is there any workaround for this?

Searching public folders - works well excepting a few specific folders which always return zero results...

Just been told of a strange problem affecting our users...

We have a public folder tree in Ex2013, and mostly it works.  However, a coupe of our folders are not working with the search function in Outlook.  Most of our Outlook clients are 2010 (I'm 2016) and I can replicate the behaviour in my Outlook client.

An example:

All Public Folders

     Lettings  (Searching works)

     Housing Benefit  (Searching works)

     In Touch  (Searching works)

     Maltings  (Searching works)

     MonthlyClaim  (Search broken)

Orders to be raised  (Search broken)

          Orders raised  (Searching works)

          SOR  (Search broken)

          New World  (Searching works)

               Fire  (Search broken)

There's quite a few more folders in the tree, but you get the idea.  Searching works in almost all of the tree, apart from these few examples (that I've found so far).

The 'Content Index State' is reading as 'Healthy' for the database that the public folder mailbox resides inside of.

Has anyone else ever come across this before please?  Thanks in advance.

Monitor if a mailbox has email

Hi

There is a requirement to monitor a mailbox.

Basically we have a mailbox that has a 3rd party application pull email out of the inbox and into another folder in the same mailbox. What we would like to do is somehow monitor if the email was not moved from the Inbox to the destination folder. This will tell us that our process is failing.

Any ideas?

Outlook Password Prompts

A few users keep on getting password prompts. They enter password it goes away and a few minutes later comes back. If they pressc cancel it goes to outlook not connected. If they double click the exclamation mark it connects fine. And then 5-10minutes later password prompt.

One more issue I noticed. is the sometimes  OWA I login then I checked out to login page, need to login 2-3 times to get in.

We also using a Kemp load balancer not sure if this makes a difference.
