"There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server" (old EX44955 issue still happening...)

I'm using El Capitan, Mac Calendar app. Getting this error consistently. "There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server"

(this appears to be the old EX44955 issue still happening...)

Hi! Read a lot about the EX44955 issue that happened around april 2016. It's happening on 2 Macs (including mine in the office).

Connecting exchange to Mac Cal still giving that error.

I have turned calendars off/on via Internet Accounts.
I have deleted Calendar Cache

Exchange works fine on Mac Mail (desktop)

Exchange works fine on iPhone, both email and calendar

It's just iCal / Mac Calendar app that refuses to work with exchange - and I'm still getting the error, any help would be awesome! I see other people's issues were sorted out in April. The exchange we're connecting to is a shared exchange on http://mail.busgateway.is.co.za

Thanks!

Andy

Hello,

I've just created a custom domain Microsoft account. When I logged into Outlook.com, I got the "Something went wrong" error. When I clicked details, I got the exception message:

This problem has persisted for more than 2 days. However, I can access account.live.com but I can never log into www.outlook.com. It's 100% reproducible. I have also tried different browsers, IE, Chrome, Firefox, which all didn't work.

Please help resolve this issue. Thanks.

Surface Book- Windows 10 Pro- Office 365 (outlook 2016) Outlook will not connect to exchange server

$

I just bought a Surface Book and am running Windows 10 Pro and Office 365. I am trying to connect my Outlook Desktop client to my email account on my exchange server. I have made sure that all of the settings on my exchange server are correct so that autodiscover works correctly. I have done the tests to make sure, and it is all set up correctly. My Mail App on my surface book will connect to the Exchange server, but my outlook client will NOT. It tells me that an encrypted connection to my server is not available. Then it gives me the option to connect with an unencrypted connection. When I try that option, I get an error that says "We're sorry, we couldn't set up your account automatically. To set it up yourself, click next." I then try to set it up manually. I enter all of the requesting information and then I get an error telling me the server can't be found.

I have done lots of troubleshooting with my exchange host, Rackspace. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 365. Rackspace, after not being able to replicate the error on their machines, has determined that it is an issue with the Outlook desktop client.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Outlook clients intermittently get stuck on "Updating this folder"

$

We recently migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. The migration went relatively smoothly, but I am running into an issue where a few people are having intermittent Outlook 2010 client connectivity issues. They will open up Outlook in the morning, it will say "Connected to Microsoft Exchange" and "Updating inbox" or "Updating this folder", but new emails will not be downloaded.  It will stay this way indefinitely, with a notification that the folder was last updated the previous day or whenever the last time they had used Outlook was.

Turning off cached Exchange mode works, but the connection seems to be spotty as Outlook will freeze up after a while.  Rebooting, deleting the OST and/or mail profile does not have any effect.  The one workaround that somewhat strangely works consistently is logging out of the users Windows profile, logging in to another profile, opening Outlook (which works fine), then logging back into the original user's profile.  Things work well for a number of days or weeks but the problem reoccurs eventually.

Outlook Web App works fine while this problem is occuring.  I have not had a chance to test because my focus is on restoring connectivity ASAP but I imagine if the user would log into another machine that would work fine too.  Has anyone seen this before?

Log on pop-up window on Outlook 2013

I have an Office Outlook email account at work. I access the email account on 2 different computers. Both of the computers are running Windows 7 Pro and Outlook 2013. We use Exchange server 2010 on an SBS server. I keep Outlook open all the time on both computers. On only one of the computers, I periodically get the Microsoft Outlook log on pop up window. I can still send and receive email and Outlook shows I am connected to the server. I have no problems at all on the other computer.  I have read all the previous discussions on this topic and tried all the suggestions that were presented. It seems to work for a few days, then the pop up is back. Also, I have two "appointments" set up in Outlook to send me reminders and once I get the log on pop up, the reminders do not show up on the computer with the problem - only on the computer that is working fine. On the computer that is having the problem, I do occasionally change the computer's system date to a previous date, perform some tasks, and then change the date back to the current date. I never do this on the computer that is working fine. Could this have something to do with it?

Office 365 Attachment download fails

Hello,

I have a problem when downloading Office 365 mail attachments.

The download starts then just closes, the partly downloaded attachment is in the downloads folder and all the partial downloads are different sizes. For example a 7MB attachment may get to 4MB and stop.

Same attachments on other mail providers e.g. gmail, yahoo download completely all time.

There is no error message at all but the download is still incomplete. The O365 behaviour is erratic, at times the download completes, most times it fails along the way.

Does anyone have some experience, any idea about this, what I can try to resolve this issue.

Thank you.

All Day Events shown as busy in Room Resource

Hello

We are using a room resource mailbox as a shared calendar.  We would like to show all day events as "free" by default when people send requests to the room resource.  Currently they are shown as "free" in the originating senders calendar but "busy" in the room resource mailbox.    Mostly users are using this to show vacations etc.

Is there a way to change this behaviour for all day events in room resource?

Thanks

Phil

How do I submit a bug report for Outlook 2016?

$

I've discovered a way to consistently crash Outlook 2016.  Someone sent me multiple calendar invites (more than 20) for the next few months.  (School holidays, etc.)  It was sent to two separate account, in two different domains.  I tested this on three separate machines, all running Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.  One of the mailboxes is on-prem (Exchange 2013), the other is hosted in Office 365.

With the list of calendar invites showing in my Inbox, I started accepting them (and sending responses).  After as few as three, or as many as six acceptances, Outlook will crash.  I'm accepting them fairly quickly, but it is very repeatable on each machine.   If I wait a second between accepting each one, there is no issue.  If I accept as fast as Outlook will allow, it will crash.  Every time, after two or three acceptances (more if I'm not clicking as quickly.)

I'm not expecting a solution for this (beyond slowing down), I'd like to submit it as a bug.  Any advice?

(The is reposted from the Office for Windows 10 forum, as suggested by a Microsoft Support Engineer.

Email showing up in OWA but not in Outlook 2013

We have an onsite Exchange 2010 environment and users on Office 2013.  There is a user mailbox on the server that is used for public records requests and we have users with full access to that mailbox to monitor it for incoming emails.  We just ran into a situation where the user is saying they did not get an email after the sender said it was sent and the deadline had passed.  This email came from an outside organization and was not labeled as private.

We were unaware that the email came in and understandably argued that it was never received.  However, after I logged into the OWA for the public records mailbox, I in fact did see the email, it was just not showing up in Outlook.  I gave myself full access to the mailbox and brought up the Inbox in my Outlook client and could NOT see the email as well.  For troubleshooting I turned off cached mode and then the email showed up in Outlook.  I have seen quite a few situations similar to this while searching but not an actual solution.  Has anyone found a fix/patch for this?

Shared calendar auto attendant forwarding meeting requests to Editors

Hi

(Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 SP2)

I've got 8 shared calendars with the Resource Booking Attendant set to automatically accept requests from anyone in 2 domain security groups, called OTAuthor and OTEditor. (These 2 groups have Reviewer and Editor permissions respectively on all 8 calendars).

None of the mailboxes has anyone set up as a delegate, and the "Forward meeting requests to delegates" box is NOT ticked.

Everything works as it should, except anyone in the Editor group receives a notification of every new meeting request for all calendars. This isn't the expected or desired behaviour: I want the request to go into the inbox of the shared calendar, and into the requestor's inbox, but not to get sent to everyone with Editor rights over the calendar.

Exchange 2013 online archive of shared mailboxes appearing in Outlook

$
0

Hi,

Bit of a strange question here, so hear me out please.

We have a user, UserA and they have access to another users mailbox UserB.

Both users have got an Exchange In-Place archive and this works correctly.

UserA has full rights to UserB and therefore gets full rights to the Archive of UserB too... this is correct.

However, in their client, Outlook 2010 SP2, when you look at the list of mailboxes available, you see UserA, UserB, "Archive - UserA" and "Archive - UserA"...

Yes, that is not  a typo - we see two Archive-UserA folders.

When we look in those folders, we can see that the first Archive mailbox is in deed UserA... but the 2nd one is UserB - even though it is called UserA in the list on the left of Outlook.

If we have several shared mailboxes (or shared USER mailboxes), then they all appear as "Archive - UserA".

These are all Exchange in Place Archives on local Exchange 2013 server.

I believe this to be something specific with Outlook 2010 as on a test machine with Outlook 2013, this works as expected.

Anyone come across this before or know what we can do to fix this as understandably, it is causing user confusion.

Thanks

James
