Everything works except Outlook

Hi, I have a issue..
I searched the web but no solution helped.

I have a Exchange Server in-house at our Head Quarter. Everything works smooth and outlook connectivity is fine.
We are now expandning and opening up in a different location.

When I try to connect to Exchange through Outlook 2010 I get the error code "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action".
I tested some suggested solutions:

  • Editing User Shell reg keys.
  • Re-creating User Profile.
  • I tried to write mailbox name as name, name@domain.se and name@domain.local.
  • I have tried with and without proxy.
  • I can access with Microsoft Windows 10 E-mail app and through Outlook Web App on the workstation that is struggeling, it is just Outlook that does not work.
  • Mailserver have been working with smartphones and laptops outside the network before.
  • I have pre-installed the cert in trusted root.

I hope someone can help me with this :)
Thanks!

Office Online Server Not Working

I've just installed Office Online Server, following our new Exchange 2016 install.  I've set up split dns for oos.contoso.com and have installed the ssl cert for it.  All seems to have installed correctly and I can browse to https://oos.contoso.com/hosting/discovery succesffuly but when I try to view a document in OWA I get an error message "An error occurred while the document preview was being created.  Please try again later."

I've checked in the error logs and I'm getting log entries to say that it's set up correctly, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Office 365 unable to load new profile

Hi All,

Just after a little help if possible. We've recently moved to office 365 and come to the stage where we need to create brand new users. We were told the following in our hybrid setup:

  1. Create the user locally in AD
  2. Create the local mailbox on the hybrid server
  3. Wait for the mailbox to sync then assign licenses

The user and mailbox show up fine in the portal online and OWA works fine. But when we try and load the profile in outlook we receive this error:The connection to microsoft exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

Any help would be great.

So as the title sais . Suddenly after working fine for a while internet explorer on several PCs redirect users on Exchange 2013 database to OWA 2007 . The emails , contacts and calendars are all there . Its just the interface is the old 2007 interface . This happened suddenly and i am not sure what caused it . On some new pcs though this does not happen (they have older IE 8) and IE uses the correct 2013 UI. Other browsers work fine . Please note that i have tried clearing cookies, cache and resetting IE to no avail . I have also tried the restart OWAappPool from IIS but still no change . This is very strange i am not sure why it is happening i am pretty convinced it has to do with the server settings i am just not sure where to look . It also happens on all accounts and on all PCs with IE 11 . Can you please help ?

Weird Outlook Autodiscover issues

Going bald on this one.

- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 SP1 CU9
- Outlook 2010/2013/2016
- Behind a Cisco Firewall

Our set-up is 2 Domain controllers and 2 Exchange 2013 servers.

While I'm on a PC outside of the network that is not joined to my company domain, I try and create a new outlook profile and set up my mail account in Outlook. I get the error "The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list" when trying to autodiscover the settings. This is affecting all users.

I've looked at most of the obvious stuff:

- Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer and Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer Tool finds no issues
- "Hide name from address list" option is unchecked in ECP
- DC's are in sync
- The Global Address List appears to be fully populated
- In the "Attribute Editor" section of the user account in Active Directory, the "showInAddressBook" attribute looks correct and lists the default global address list
- I deleted the entire %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook folder and deleted all profiles, and cached credentials on the client. I also tried it on several different PCs, none of them worked. Account that were already set-up continue to work.

This USED to work, about a couple of months ago when I set up the servers I was able to connect fine. Something changed between then and now. Any idea this might be?

For some reason a Windows 7 machine with Office 2013, without the most recent patches works

Disable Outlook Anywhere Exchange 2013

From the research I've done, I've gathered that the answer is natively "No" but I thought I'd poke around here for some ideas. We are in a situation where we must allow users to use Active Sync but we need to disable Outlook Anywhere altogether (per user ideally but globally is okay as well). The reason is that our company is passing policy that email is to be accessed only from company issued and approved devices. The problem with the way that Microsoft changed the connectivity of Outlook in 2013 is that it ONLY connects over RPC/HTTP so the old commands to disable RPC/HTTP seem to break email access for the user. We can't block on the firewall because everything comes in through port 443 so it seems like it needs to be something that is disabled as a feature on the user account but that no longer seems possible as of Exchange 2013. I've read that some people suggest some DNS workarounds but it seems like that might interfere with other desired behaviors such as auto discover (and users could also work around the issue by manually typing in the name of the server). This leaves a bit of a hole for our email access as someone could use their own copy of Outlook to connect from a personal device. Has anyone else managed to come up with an acceptable workaround for this scenario? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time!

Issue with Outlook Meeting

For a meeting, if few of the mandatory participants send acceptance and later on when the meeting requester updates the meeting, the attendees who accepted the meeting are being marked in optional attendees. This gives a wrong information that those attendees are not mandatory for the meeting, although they were in the mandatory list in original meeting.

  1. How do you access your account? Is it through browser or Office Outlook? - Office outlook
  2. If you are using Office Outlook then which version of Outlook are you using? Outlook 2013
  3. What type of email account have you configured? Is it POP3, IMAP, Exchange Active Sync or Microsoft Exchange Server email account? Microsoft exchange server email account
  4. Have you been sending the initial/original meeting invite to attendee’s alias rather than actual email address? initial invite is sent to alias and not individual email address.

Priya

Accepting/Declining meeting requests NDR '554 5.6.0 Corrupt message content;

Hello,

We have a Exchange Server 2013 CU11 running and clients run with Outlook 2013.
Sometimes when our users either Accept, Change or Decline a meeting request and use the option to send their answer right away.
then they get a NDR returned saying their mail cannot be delivered because of corrupt message content.

I'm not exactly sure since when this appeared, it feels like its since we run CU11, but im not exactly sure if that really the cause.
I'm hoping you guys have a good suggestion on how to resolve these issues.

Remote Server returned '554 5.6.0 Corrupt message content; STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ConversionFailedException.ConversionFailedException.TextConvertersException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The message content has become corrupted. Exchange question about inbox always "Updating"

$

I need some help if anyone has any solutions out there.  I have called Microsoft 12 times and no one seems to be able to fix my problem.

Here is what I am dealing with:

I am using an exchange email through outlook on my Surface Pro 3 and when I run the outlook in cached mode, it will not receive emails unless I log out and log back in.  My same outlook works perfectly fine on my laptop, but something is not working on my outlook on the Surface.  In addition, the bottom of the outlook always says "updating inbox" and never full updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Exchange server 2013 just stopped working - was working fine for 8 months

Just today out of the blue our exchange server 2013 stopped working.  It is installed on a windows server 2012.

Since it stopped working i tired rebooting and going though forums but no luck. No idea where to go from here.  Nothing was changed i wasn't even in the office.

I keep getting Errors and Warnings left and right.  i cannot even log into ECP or OWA locally.

IM getting winning ID 10010 - Error ID 7032 - Error 36888

Just a hunch but i think the issue is coming from a ADWS 1400 warning and ID 4013 and 2886.

not sure where to go from here and emails have been down since 1pm

Hi Experts,

I would like to create a rule in Outlook 2016 to request a delivery receipt confirming the messages was delivered to certain external recipient's  email server and not from all.

I tried using the blank rule -> Apply rule on messages I send ->Condition:Sent to people or public group (@domain.com or domain) and it is not working. I even tried with specific words in the recipient's address and does not work either. Read receipt seems to work but delivery receipt I not working.

Can an one point me to the right direction?

Thanks,

Migrate WLM 2011 emails to Outlook 2016 (Office 365)

I have just installed Office 365 and need to transfer all of my existing emails in WLM2011, I am running win10 (64 bit). I have followed the following instructions (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/980534http://):

In the Windows Live Mail window, click the File button and select Export and then select Email messages.
Select Microsoft Exchange as the format and then click Next.
You will see a message that all email will be exported to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange, click Ok to continue.
You can export all email folders or select the appropriate folders that you want to export by using the Select folders option.
After you select the appropriate option, click OK and wait for the export process to be completed.

The underlined bit does not appear, from the 2nd line it goes straight to the export process without giving me the option to pick where it all goes. After the "export" has completed there is nothing showing in Outlook 2016.

is there a way to export from WLM2011 to Outlook 2016

2 factor authentication for OWA

$

We plan to use Entrust Identityguard to provide 2factor authentication for OWA. We have an ARR server for Activesync & OWA currently works thru that same server. OWA is not live, but activesync has been live for over a year.

Entrust does not seem to understand our Exchange configuration in relation to their product.  They tried to install their isapi filter on our ARR server a few weeks ago, but it repeatedly failed & they sent the issue to R&D.  It failed on the screen where you choose the IIS site & the only site we have is Default Web Site.

Now, they say the isapi filter has to be installed on the Exchange servers (we have a DAG).

Here is our setup….pretty simple….

2 exchange 2013 cu7 servers in a DAG, both run all roles, both are in the internal network.

1 ARR server in the DMZ servicing Activesync.

Does anyone have any experience with a similar (or the same) 2 factor setup?

You may ask why I don’t press the vendor for more answers….. I simply cannot get them to understand my setup. I don’t think they have much experience with ARR & since we don’t use OWA, my knowledge of how it actually works is slim.

Thanks!
