Outlook client add-ins prompt for credentials

Hi,

We're in the process of switching from exchange 2007 to 2013.  I'm kind of digging the new add-in's features like bing maps, and action items and whatnot, but they don't seem to be working per say.  In the outlook client (outlook 2013) when we click on say "big maps" a login prompt for our OWA page comes up.  When we login it works fine and shows the map,but it defeats the purpose of the feature to some extent if the user needs to keep logging in.  Any idea's what I might be missing?

Download All attachments feature for OWA is unavavilable.

Hi,

Is it me or is the feature "download all attachments" removed from exchange 2013 CU6 Outlook web app.  It was available on the exchange 2010 OWA.  I realize this when many users complained that they have to download each attachment.

Thanks

Migrated Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016 but OWA is redirected to 2010 still, how do i change this?

I have just migrated Exchange 2010 to 2016 and set everything up as per deployment assistant but when connecting to OWA externally I still get the 2010 gui, I have updated the router to direct to new 2016 server so why is it redirecting?  2016 OWA works internally when using the server fqdn?

What command do i use to change this?

Thanks

Change Photo

We recently added employee photos to AD using the photo on Employee ID cards. After I upgraded to Exchange 2013, I was unaware users can change their photo in OWA. I have since removed the "change" option (Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -id "owa (Default Web Site)" -SetPhotoEnabled $False).

Fortunately only 8 users changed their photo so I replaced it with their original phot using:

Set-UserPhoto "John Doe" -PictureData ([System.IO.File]::ReadAllBytes("C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\JohnDoe.jpg"))

Opening up "john Doe" contact card in Outlook shows the correct user photo.  However, in the OWA directory, the incorrect photo is still there.  This is the same result for all 8 users.  Are there 2 places photos are saved or do I need to update something?

Thanks

MAPI over HTTP and Play on Phone - mutually exclusive?

$

I've recently upgraded an Exchange environment from 2007 to 2013 SP1.  A lingering issue has been that the play on phone functionality doesn't work from Outlook 2010 or 2013 clients.  When attempting to use this function, a message indicating "The Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service cannot be contacted to play messages on your phone.  Try again later.  If this problem continues, contact your Exchange administrator or support organization" is displayed.  Additionally, the"Manage Voice Mail" button does not appear under the File menu in either of these two clients.  Using Play on Phone from OWA, however, works fine, as does managing voice mail from within OWA.

I've tried manipulating the authentication methods used by the EWS, ECP and OWA virtual directories as well as resetting/recreating them and trying different combinations.  I've confirmed the Microsort Exchange Add-in for Outlook is enabled.  I tried manipulating the authentication methods used by the MAPI virtual directory.  All this to no avail.  I scoured the web trying to figure out how Play on Phone works.  Late last night (rather early this morning), after reading the linked article for the 10th or 20th time (in spite of the fact that I couldn't find any of the attributes referenced in ADSIEdit), I latched onto the phrase "When the User clicks the Play on Phone Icon on his Voicemail  form Outlook a RPC over HTTPS request is send to the Exchange CAS"and decided to see what the effect of forcing a RPC over HTTPS connection between client and server would be.  Lo and behold, a registry key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\"MapiHttpDisabled"=dword:00000001 and a (forced) autodiscover later and Play on Phone is functional.

So - is it possible to use Mapi over HTTP and retain the Play on Phone functionality in Outlook 2010 or 2013?  I hope so, because it looks like forcing RPC over HTTP isn't going to be an option in Outlook 2016.

Thanks,

Stan

Have a user who cannot send any invite acceptance emails without getting bounceback.

Doesnt happen in OWA.

We are using Exchange 2013, but this is an outlook 2010 client.,

Is able to accept meeting from calendar.  ie, accept meeting without response, go into calendar, accept meeting and send response.

Bounceback shows failed to these recipients and then its the users email address rather than the owner of the meeting>

Unable to delete email in OWA when proxying through Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010

Hello, while proxying from 2013 down to a 2010 mailbox in OWA, when a user tries to delete a message in OWA from the message list, they’re getting an “Access denied” message:

The problem does not occur when accessing OWA internally, going straight to the 2010 CAS Servers, only when going through the 2013 CAS Servers.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Office 365 calendar (calendar.live.com) does not match Outlook 2013 calendar

Meetings that have been accepted to my Microsoft Exchange calendar and show up on my Outlook 2013 calendar do not show up on my Office 365 calendar. They do not sync anywhere, and are only available from Outlook 2013. I have an IMAP account that uses the exchange calendar (the default data file IS set up as the exchange account). Meetings are correctly accepted to the exchange calendar, but they do not sync to Office 365 or other devices.

How can I get see these meetings to sync?

Thanks in advance.

Error Code 8

Hi,

My exchange server at work is now aaalmost up and running.
One account/computer is giving me a hard time because it cannot connect to the proxyserver because of error code 8 "Proxyservers certificate".

I have connected 30 other devices without any problems and at least 10 of them are the exact same modell.
I have managed the whole "trusted root certificate" before when I got this error message on all computers but now it is just one.

error when opening outlook externally saying certificate name is incorrect

$

Since adding the Autodiscover record to the domain records we now get and error on the outlook when its opened on a computer that's off site its says the name on the certificate is wrong it now looks for autodiscover.domain.com rather than remote.doamin.com or email .domain.com

very thing was fine till changes where made but we have checked them and everything appears to be ok.

this is the record added

Hostname: autodiscover

Record Type: CNAME

TTL: 300 (if required)

Address: autodiscover.doaminname.co.uk

And it should point to remote.domainname.co.uk or wanipaddress

I assume I need to change the exchange certificate or change a setting in the exchange using the shell but not sure what.

can anyone advise.

Exchange 2013 OWA - Can't open .wma or .vcf files

Hello,

Users using Exchange 2013 web app are unable to open .wma files or .vcf files since being migrated from Exchange 2010.  It appears from doing some research that perhaps the .vcf files are no longer able to work when using 2013.  Can anybody clarify that for me?  When attempting to open the .vcf file, the following error pops up:  "This type of attachment can't be opened in Outlook Web App".  When attempting to open the .wma file, the following error pops up: "Access to this attachment is blocked.  Recipients may not be able to view the attachment, either".

In regards to .wma files, they are allowed in my web app policy according to Get-OwaMailboxPolicy *policy_name* | select -ExpandProperty AllowedFileTypes so I am unsure what is happening.  For good measure, I ran the following command Get-OwaMailboxPolicy | Sete-OwaMailboxPolicy -AllowedFileTypes @{Add = '.wma'} with no improvement in functionality.

Can anybody help me out with these issues?  Has microsoft really stopped supporting .vcf files in OWA foro 2013?  Why am I unable to open .wma files when they are allowed in my web app policy?  Also, this is not browser specific.  IE, Firefox, Chrome all exhibit same behavior.

Thanks for any help!

Outlook is trying to retrieve data from exchange server

Hello,

I am having issues in Outlook after migration from Exchange 2010 to 2013 but only from outside of office, when attempting to send new mail messages once selects the send button Outlook displays "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from Microsoft Exchange Server." and shows "Not responding", then I must end the Outlook process and reopen the program. The issues are every 5-15 min or so and affect only outsides PC, it makes no difference if is trying to send or archiving emails. I have recreated the data file, disabled all addins and did all the recommendations I found over this community. There is no .pst files and .ost file size is under 230 MB and less than 900 emails, I have disabled Lync integration, recreate the profiles, did the Microsoft Inbox Repair tool, ensured there were no spam or email scanners running, tried running Outlook in safe-mode, tried running in both non-cached and cached mode, ensured the offline address book is the default in use, modify some registry parameters in the PCs and server side and nothing works (off course I undone the registry changes after see it doesn't work). OWA access works fine and there are no issues sending and receiving using it. Operating system is Windows 10 64bit with Microsoft Office 365, PCs performance are fine, I also contacted with the Office 365's support team and after hours of work the issue persist. Software installed is minimal with no software firewalls apart from Windows default. Exchange server working fine, inside office everything is ok, even with a remote office connected through VPN Outlook 2010 and 365 works fine.

I would appreciate any suggestions as I am running out of ideas and this issue is persisting.

Kind regards,

Andy.

Exchange 2013 Mailbox Migration, Outlook 2010 Woes

Hi, I'm in the process of deploying Exchange 2013. Most appears to have gone to plan but I'm having issues when migrating a mailbox to an Exchange 2013 database when the client is using Outlook 2010 (99% of our users are on Outlook 2010!).

I'll post a few screenshots below to try and explain the problem.

Firstly a 2013 mailbox on Outlook 2013 appears to connect correctly:

If I migrate a mailbox of a user with Outlook 2010 I get the following error message on startup and a partial connect in the status window:

After several weeks searching on this issue I did find that adding the follow registry entry would work:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider]
"DS Server"="<LOCAL GC SERVER>"

Unfortunately this fix only works internally, externally it obviously can't find the GC server.

I thought this would point to a potential DNS issue? But seems odd that it's the global catalog server it's struggling to find. I've done various network lookups and the servers are returned as expected.

Also, if I remove the registry key above and try to recreate the account I get the following:

Adding the key back in and it'll discover the account and set it up with no problems!

I'm also puzzled by the certificate warnings. I've looked everywhere on the Exchange 2013 servers and can't see any self signed certificates being used. We have a GoDaddy SAN certificate and all the relevant names are present.

Using Get-OutlookProvider command no hostname, etc is listed. I'm reluctant to add anything in here as our 2010 and 2013 hostname differ.

I'm really struggling to think of anything else to try and fear I'm probably making it worse by constantly adjusting settings all over the place to try and resolve it.

At present OWA, ActiveSync and ECP is working fine for both 2010 and 2013 mailboxes (2013 is routing correctly), it's just Outlook that's having problems. Unfortunately it will be a while before our company moves to Outlook 2013.

I would appreciate any help you can offer!

Appointments with option Working Elsewhere not visible in Scheduling Assistant

I have a problem with appointments that have the Show As option as "Working Elsewhere".  When someone tries to use the scheduling assistant and selects someone who has an appointment set to "Working Elsewhere" the appointment is not visible at all in Scheduling Assistant. If the person changes the appointment to Busy or Out of Office is becomes visible again to the person using Scheduling Assistant. Outlook 2013 and Exchange Server 2010 with the latest updates installed are being used in our Environment. Is this type of behaviour by design or is it something else like using Exchange 2010 that doesn't support it fully?
