OWA and Outlook login problem randomly in Exchange 2013

Hello All,

In the Existing Environment is 2 Mailbox Server and  CAS server Exchange 2013 CU1.

we are facing problem login owa and outlook sometimes. sometimes user can login using owa and outlook and sometimes user cannot login using owa and outlook. i found some error in exchange server IIS. Please see the error and suggest:

Error:

Like the title says, all users are getting the message "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed."

I've tried deleting & recreating their outlook profile, also tried deleting a users whole profile on the rdp server, none of that did anything. The wizard will find all of the server settings but the outlook program won't actually launch. I've tried loading outlook with no add-ons but that made no difference.

All our other users running traditional desktop PC's running Windows 7 or 8.1 seem unaffected.

I have a multi-tennant Exchange environment and am working on a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013. I am having trouble with ActiveSync for mailboxes on 2007, through my 2013 CAS. Here is what my environment looks like:

- Internet-facing Exchange 2007 CAS 2007cas1/10.1.1.2/204.228.1.2 (name/internal IP/external IP)
- Non-Internet-facing Exchange 2007 CAS 2007cas2/10.1.1.3 (name/internal IP)
- Internet-facing Exchange 2013 CAS/MBX 2013casmbx1/10.1.1.4/204.228.1.4 (name/internal IP/external IP)
- 2007 URL: webmail.hosteddomain.com
- 2013 URL: testmail.hosteddomain.com
- Certificate: Third-party CA wildcard cert

I have verified that OWA out OutlookAnywhere work. When I try to connect to my Exchange 2007 mailbox (and only 2007) through ActiveSync, my phone says "Can't connect to server" and I see the following entries in my IIS logs (2013casmbx1):

I verified that the AS virtual directories on our 2007 CAS server look like this:
- InternalURL: webmail.hosteddomain.com
- ExternalURL: $null
- BasicAuthEnabled: True
- WindowsAuthEnabled: False

Finally, I verified that my test user as inheritance enabled.

Since all the other mail clients work and ActiveSync works when I'm not trying to proxy through Exchange 2013, I'm not sure what else to check. Thoughts? Thanks.

Hi guys,

Would appreciate any advise given to the following issue:

I've installed and configured Exchange 2013 Std for a new organization, as a stand alone server.

Very small scale, with all pre and post configuration done. I'm in a testing phase by checking mail flow and set up of accounts from the clients side in outlook, all with success. ( OWA also in working 100%).

Today, when I needed to create their profiles in outlook, authentication takes place until the final step > logging on to mail server, where it fails. I've ruled out any authentication issue that might be the cause.

Regarding certificates, I'm using the self signed certificates exchange creates by default until I receive a 3rd party cert. This also, I believe is still in tact, with no changes made since the initial configuration.

Any ideas as to why there would be a problem logging on to the server all of a sudden?

Note, that accessing their accounts through OWA works perfectly. Just outlook itself where the error occurs.

Outlook 2013 - Shared Calendar "No Connection"

Hello!

Cross-posted per Mohan Suryanarayan's comment here.

This problem is similar to this problem. The exception is that instead of an explicitly permitted user receiving a "no connection" notification, a user that should fall under Default "Free/Busy" gets "no connection" on shared calendars. Here's some pertinent information:

  • The user is on a personal, non-domain joined machine.
  • The user is connecting via HTTP (with msstd defined for proxy connections) from Outlook to Exchange 2007.
  • The user connects to shared calendars WITHOUT ERRORS when logging into the domain on a DJ'ed computer.
  • Per the aforementioned article, adding him as an editor to the calendar allows him error-free connection.
    • Interestingly enough, removing that permission allows him to continue the connection for a time, but he still sees everything instead of reverting to default free/busy.

Here's what I've done so far:

  • Added Editor rights manually to a shared calendar, which allowed connection, but then removed, which maintained connection and then removed it after about 15 mins.
  • Toggled Cached mode, without success.
  • Resynced his profile, without success.
  • Removed and recreated his profile, without success.
  • Turned on logging, which created ETL files in the OKCalLog directory in normal logging location (%temp% etc. etc.), but which ETLs yielded event codes for which Google had no useful input (and very little user friendly information besides). Codes 120 and 170 were most pertinent.

This user was previously working on domain-joined machines only. As I mentioned, when he logs in to a domain-joined machine, he has no issues.

Help! What am I missing?

Hi,

I am new to Outlook.

Yesterday I had configured my rediffmail account.

Outlook synced last 15 days mails and the mails of these 15 days are disappeared from my rediff mail account (i.e. www.rediffmail.com) and it can only be seen in outlook.

Now mails can only be received on outlook and not on www.rediffmail.com.

Why is it so?

I want to operate my account from both i.e. from outlook and rediffmail.com.

and how can I get back my mails in rediffmail.com?

Please help me out.

Hello!

I have 2 servers.

1) Windows 2012 srv.

It is AD controller.


2) Windows 2012 srv with Exchange 2013.It has all exchange roles.

Exchange and Windows is fresh installed.

OWA works perfectly.

Iam have trouble: Outlook clients can't connect.

Testconnectivity.microsoft.com show me a error:

Try to connect MAPI address book endpoint with... : SomeGuid@domain.com:6004;

RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE (0x6ba).



My questions:

1) Fromat of address book server is correct? (SomeGuid@domain.com) Or it need to be mail.domain.com?

2) What can iam do to fix this?

I am using Exchange 2013 CU7, when i try to export outlook items to pst file and then import it on other computer, i can see only one year emails. Rest of the emails are missing. I am using outlook 2013, please guide me.

Issue is:

When trying to set automatic replies from Outlook 2013 client, error message is received.

Error message : "Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later"

Exchange Setup:

2x Exchange 2013 servers on 2012 R2 with both running Mailbox and CAS roles. Mailbox roles are in DAG with all mailbox db's active on 1 server and passive on the other. CAS is load balanced by DNS round-robin.

Testing results:

- Can set autoreplies fine via PowerShell

- Can set autoreplies fine via Outlook 2007

- Can set autoreplies fine via Outlook 2013

Looked at hotfix KB2825652 : Reporting not applicable when attempts to install.

Confirmed KB2825652 not installed on any affected systems already.

Anyone got any ideas?

Mailbox Size outbox file large

I have a issue, in my office User A mailbox is full, so I do outlook archieve,

but after archieve email size is still full, when I checked at folder size. outbox item is grow large

 I already create new profile but, the issue still same. My Exchange is 2013 CU6.

is there any solution, or is there a method to delete all outbox via powershell command ?

Public folders won't work with Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2013

Hi,

after migrating to Exchange 2013 several month ago, I can't get public folders access from Outlook 2007 for PC working. Primary mailbox access is fine, when trying to open the public folder tree, the following error message appears:

Cannot expand the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance.

The problem appears exactly like described here: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/kb/2839517/en-us

Access to public folders from Outlook for Mac and Entourage works without any problem. Outlook 2013 didn't work by default, but works after applying KB2863843 (guess this is a culmulative hotfix pack which also includes 2817347 as described in the upper mentioned KB article).

Unfortunetely, I still can't get Outlook 2007 to access the public folders. The August 13, 2013 hotfix package *is* installed, but the error remains the same. Since the hotfixed Outlook 2013 for PC works as well as Outlook for Mac and Entourage, I bet that this is not an exchange server issue.

Does any froum you uses Outlook 2007 to access Public Folders on an Exchange 2013 Server successfully? Have you any Idea where I coult start digging in this issue?

OWA not savings drafts with New Email Selection

the OWA site would allow a draft to be created, typed in, and if you clicked over to another message (i.e. new urgent message) the draft would auto save in the draft folder.  Even if another message wasn't selected, within a few seconds the draft had saved.


OWA won't connect to 2010 accounts from 2013

I have exchange 2013 and 2010 installed and I'm in co-existence mode. Everything is working correctly except OWA. When I login with an account that has been moved to 2013 it works perfect but when I try to login with an account that is still on the 2010 server I get the ":( Sorry, something went wrong" message.

Outlook Anywhere and ActiveSync also works fine to access mailboxes on either server.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

Hi All

I'd like to change the settings in the section "When Starting" of my Exchange E-Mail account I've got with Microsoft.

I cant see this group and options at all.

The checkbox “Use Cached Exchange Mode” in the "account change" dialog and advanced tab are both set to true.

Can anybody help me out here?

Occasional sent email french accents change to Mingliu font

Outlook 2010, Windows 7 64, Exchange Server 2010, using iMap.

Hello, occasionally, 3 incidents in the past several months, we'll compose an email in Outlook, with the subject containing the same message, properly translated, in both English and French, as soon as the email is sent, all the French accents characters (letter "e" with grave and and acute accents as examples) in the message change into Mingliu type fonts.  This results in an embarrassing further reply to our French readers apologizing for the technical issue.  Resending the same email again, using the same steps (as remembered and repeated many times a week) doesn't repeat the issue.  These emails are sent to a large number of BCC recipients.

We have some recipients mention that instead of Mingliu font, they see squares / triangles.  I suspect these recipients are using non Windows computers.

The change in characters only takes place after the Send button is pressed, there is no visible indication or warning ahead of time that the French accented characters will change.

Below are examples of the original accented word and it's translated version (as it appears in an Outlook 2010 Win 7 recipient).

As you can see from the above examples, the change is not consistent, in that all " é  " characters are changed to the same Mingliu font characters.

There is no other Language packs installed in Office other than Canadian English and French and there are no Add-Ins that others have identified as possible causes.

I understand renaming the normalemail.dotm to .old is an option which I'll try.  Though the big concern from the Executive is that this issue hits with no warning, and it can take away from the intended content, especially trying to figure out the missing / replace French Accent characters.

OWA not working from outside after renew the Exchange Certificate

Dear all ,

we have single exchange server 2013 and recently we have renew the SAN Certificate of the Exchange .

after renew the SAN Certificate we are facing problem accessing owa from outside some browser are working  sometimes like  ( IE ) and other browser not working ( Chrome and Firefox )  at all .

browser giving ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED .

any idea what could be the issue ??

Outlook Freezes when receiving emails

I am on Office 365 for exchange, and using the 365 Office/Outlook 2013 client. Whenever i receive emails into my inbox, my client freezes up no matter what i'm doing. Typing an email and all of a sudden it freezes until the email that is coming in is totally received. I have tried to turn off the little notification window in the lower right corner, but can't seem to make it work.

What else can i do to try and improve this?
