Shared mailbox problem

Hi all,

Something is bothering me a lot. The story is next : We are acessing our servers trough RDP via VPN, and whole team is working that way. We have Exchange server, and couple of users use couple of adresses (office, support, ecc), and everyone has their copy of that mailbox on remote server users folder ( C:\Users\user\Appdata\Microsoft\outlook or C:\Users\user\My documents), and soon or before server is running out of storage space. Is there any way to redirect their mailboxes, so all can use one ? Maybe I didnt explain it well, but I thihnk its understandable.


Autodiscover broken after Office update

We are seeing some weird behaviour on our exchange 2013 environment.

We have had Exchange up and running for over a year now with very little issue, currently on CU6. However in the last couple of weeks we have seen some issues with Autodiscover. It appears only to affect external users whose email address match their UPN, ie. Users who use an email alias of a different domain seem not to be affected.

There have been no changes to our autodiscover or DNS. After some extensive testing I have narrowed it down that only Outlook 2013 clients seem to be affected. So I brought up fiddler and noticed that when using the affected domain to try and autodiscover the request was then being routed to ActiveSync URL rather than the Outlook Anywhere URL. So further investigation of the Autodiscover logs it seems that users with the most recent Office client updates seem to be sending a different Useragent string than those without the November updates.

Pre November 2014 office update user agent string- Microsoft Office/15.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Microsoft Outlook 15.0.4667; Pro)

After November 2014 office update user agent string - Outlook/15.0 (15.0.4667.1000; MSI; x86)

I have proved there to be an issue as I uninstalled Outlook from my machine and reinstalled RTM with no updates and autodiscover works fine.

Is it possible that this changed user agent string is stopping exchange recognising that Outlook should use Outlook Anywhere? And even if that is the case why it only happens when using the UPN domain for autodiscover? Has anyone else seen this issue with the latest Office updates?


Getting alerts for new appointments, showing on calendar but not in the inbox

Starting about 1 month ago, started receiving calls from staff stating that new calendar appointments were showing up on their calendars, but not in their inbox.  I have been checking different forums to see if an outlook update or windows update may have caused this, but not finding anything.  Using Outlook 2013.  Also, get alerts that appointment is coming in.  Has anyone else seen this issue or know of a resolution?

Need Public/Private selection on OWA in 2013 to always be unchecked

Hello

Our agency is requiring that when a user navigates to OWA, that the Private computer checkbox is always unchecked. Currently, we have the box to be unchecked when a user first navigates to the page. However if they check the box and log in, then either close the browser or log out, we are finding that upon returning to the OWA page the box is still checked.

Is there anyway to have the box remain unchecked by default? I have removed the word "checked" from this line

<input id="chkPrvt" onclick="clkSec()" name="trusted" value="4" type="checkbox"checked role="checkbox" aria-labelledby="privateLabel"/>

but if we check it, log in, then log back out and refresh the page it remains checked.

Any way for Outlook to use an cert for S/MIME that is already in the windows cert store of the workstation?

Seems odd that you can't have Outlook allow you to pick from the certs in your windows cert store?  (Unless I'm just not finding the documentation on it?).  Everything I'm seeing has you export the cert from the store via the MMC.  Really?  It would seem to make sense to be have an option to pick from certs in your windows workstation cert store.

Disappearing Web Mail Rules

I have created a couple of rules in my Outlook Web Mail inbox rules. There is one that I only turn on during the weekends, so I 'uncheck' the ON button to turn it off during the week. But when I need to turn it back on the next weekend, the rule has disappeared and so I have to re-create it again. Why is the rule disappearing when I am just turning it Off I am not deleting it?

Exchange 2013 CU8/CU9 - Hidden Reading Pane - New Mail and Group Members

Hello,

I just migrated an old organization of 300 Users from Exchange 2007 to a DAG of two Exchange 2013 CU8 servers. All went smoothly. Now I upgraded the DAG group to CU9.

I noticed a strange behaviour using OWA. If I configure a user to hide "reading pane", I try to compose a new message selecting "New email" it is presented the new compose window, the address is like: "https://owa.contoso.com/owa/#viewmodel=IMailComposeViewModelFactory&wid=76&ispopout=1"

In this window if I click "To" to select recipient I can browse my contact, instead, if I select Groups I can see all my groups in the left pane but the the list of members (in the right pane) is not presented. In the right pane I can see the name of the group and the loading icon.

If I configure the user to show the reading pane on the right when I click to compose a message the compose form is presented on the right pane of the OWA window and if follow the same procedure described above I can see the group members.

The last thing I noticed: with the hidden reading pane if I copy the link presented in the new window, the one in the format:

"https://owa.contoso.com/owa/#viewmodel=IMailComposeViewModelFactory&wid=76&ispopout=1" in a new tab of the browser or in a new window of the browser the members are showed correctly.

In other words: The problem seems to be related to the window opened automatically by OWA when I click "New Email".

I have another Exchange 2013 DAG running with CU7 installed and I can't replicate the error. Unfortunately is a different installation so I can't say that the problem is related to CU8 and above.

Someone could help me?

Hi guys, i'm having a bit of trouble downloading my OAB changes to the outlook clients, when i do a send an receive on the OAB i get error 0x80190194, and it doesnt matter which client i use.

Exchange 2013 Topology

2 Mailbox DAG

2 CAS

Any idea on what i can try to resolve this, i tried a new OAB but that didnt work, unless i did it wrong :/

Outlook 13 (O365) cannot connect to server!

Outlook cannot connect to the server! It happened all day Wednesday, then worked again on Thursday, and now has been disconnected since Thursday evening. I'm using O365, Outlook 13 and have a Hosting Provider. My network is connected with no Exchane issues in my O365 Dashboard. OWA works fine. I've tried running a repair but it cannot find my email alias, just spins for minutes and minutes.

Do I have an Outlook corruption? Should I re-install? What next?

Please help!

Nested Contact Groups Do Not Work

I am trying to send an email to a contact group that contains nested contact groups within it. When I have tried through it fails to send, yet i am able to successfully send an email to a single contact group.

Can you advise?

Exchange 2010 server ask external contact for username and password

Hi all

I have a weird situation reported from one of my users. Everytime an external contact wants to send my user an email, he/she is asked to fill in username and password by my mailserver. I've never encountered this.

Can anyone please explain why this is happening? Why would my mailserver care about username and password for someone that is not even in my domain?

Hi All,

I have a user that got affected with following 

1) this issue only happens to one user

2) Using outlook 2010, trying to create new profile get the above error

3) have tried to create profile in three computers now (Windows 7 ) and the same issue and error, so its nothing to do with AD account, Windows 7, or the computer.

4) OWA works fine (Web mail works fine )

5) If I uncheck "Exchange cahsed mode" in outlook profile, outlook loads ok

6) As soon as you enable chased mode, and try to laod outlook, above error message comes up

Error: "Operation Failed" on sending Task Status Report in Outlook.

sers in the office where I work are having an issue with certain tasks in shared folders. Our users are using Outlook 2010 primarily. 

We follow our files by updating a task that all the employees have access to (with full edit and delete permissions), and send status reports between each other to update on the status of files or of things to be done. However, lately, certain tasks have stopped operating for certain users.  In a specific shared folder, about 3-4 tasks will be broken and give error messages.

Here's what happens:

If I open the task, and do not edit anything, then I can send a status report as normal or save and close the task without issue. Providing I change absolutely nothing in the body of the task.

However, if I edit the task or add to it and then try to send a Status Report or Save and Close the task I get a generic "Operation Failed" error (no additional information in the error message is given. 

To get around the issue employees receiving the error message are having to email their edits to other employees, who then edit the task for them and don't receive the error message.

I have tried to fix the issue with resetting profiles and by changing between cached mode - neither have worked. 

I should also note that we are all connected over a domain server. And users who are receiving the error are from our satellite office. 

However, I am not certain if the satellite office fact matters, as my personal user account does not work whether I'm connecting from a machine in the satellite office or our home branch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 


Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 wont display Ex13 Online Archives

Issue: have volume licensed Stand Alone Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1 and 7 PC's.  On the Win 8.1 PC uses can see and read their Outlook 2013 Online Archive.  SAME user logs into Win7 PC with same volume license stand alone Outlook 2013 and in Outlook they get a no archives but a list for personal folders of which they cannot open.  I have uninstalled the reminder of Office on the Win 7 PC but this as had no effect on the Stand Alone Outlook 2013.  What am I missing here?  Do Win 8.1 and or 7 see the stand alone license differently?  Is the volume license on Outlook only per OS?  Anyone a MS Licensing who could help with this?

Hi everyone,

I have the following issue in our Demo environment.

Outlook cannot connect when adding a profile in outlook, even though the Outlook Connectivity Check can reach the environment.
Even though the certificate does not match. Our OWA, Android en iOS connections are working (iOS is giving a cert error)

I tried outlook anywhere but sadly enough, this did not work either.

I have 2DC's and 2EXCH server which are set-up with domain.nl

I have also added a UPN Suffix so we can use domain2.nl in our enviroment.

Please help me out to solve this.

Disappearing Folders in my Light version of Outlook Web App

I have several "folders" under "Mail" that I use for business.  A couple of days ago, all folders after "P" disappeared.  However, when I do a "search" for a folder, it pulls everything up that I had in that folder, but not divided by 'sub folder'.

So there is no way that I can move a new email to it's correct folder, if that folder does not show.

Is there a "folder" limitation that I have exceeded?  Or have I exceeded allowed items period?

How can I show all of my "folders" to have access to them?
